getting AT&T s4 fully working on t-mobile - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hi,
My sim unlocked at&T s4 only gets LTE data after I make a call with the phone (after I turn it on). Will this fix it? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291589 -- what will fix this?
Is there also a method to get HSPA+ working on the AT&T phone using t-mobile sim?
I'm beginning to think I should sell the two at&T s4 phones I have, and buy two t-mobile phones. Thanks!

Yes that will fix it... I was in your boat yesterday. Now I'm picking up all the bands and phones actually connecting to they're faster lte and hspa. You can see my comments on the thread a page back . It was pretty simple and didn't take long. Just follow the steps. And if *#7284# doesn't work use *#0808#. I had to search everywhere for that
After you do it you should have more apns pop up in here automatically. I use the one that's checked. I used to only have the one above it

Hardware differences

Can anyone confirm the major hardware differences between the 4 US versions coming out? I read that the AT&T version won't have a front camera. How about the T-Mobile version?
Also I am guessing that AT&T disabled wi-fi tethering from Froyo. Curious what's on the T-Mo version, and whether it would work to override it with an international firmware.
I'm on Wind Mobile up here in Canada, so if I wanted to get a Tab I'd be interested in the T-Mo US version.
Rogers and Bell will be carrying the Galaxy Tab

No hardware details are known, except for a leaked picture on AT&T:

Right, well it'd be good to know about the Rogers and Bell versions too, but the only one that will work on Wind is the T-Mobile US version. Unless Wind can manage to release it themselves as well.

[Q] Band Selection

Good evening,
Is there a service menu screen within the atrix like on the samsung galaxy s?
http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...rk-frequency-your-samsung-i9000-galaxy-s.html
I want to see if there is a similar method to this to enable 3G on 900mhz on my AT&T Atrix as I've read in several places that this frequency is locked down simply by software and that the radios in the AT&T and world/bell/uk versions are the same chip.
I have tried flashing several radios (UK, and other world ones) to no avail. I would like to enable this band as O2 in the UK are putting 3G on 900mhz (equivilant to AT&T's "4G" on 850mhz)
Any ideas on if I can do this at all please?
Yes, just dial *#*#4636#*#*

That does not do band selection.

[Q] Compatible network bands?

I have an S 5 on Verizon but will be traveling and want to know what networks I can use. I want to use prepaid for places I wont have WiFi coverage for their "unlimited" data. I have found some GSM based carriers like T Mobile and Straight Talk but I am unsure if my phone will work. Also, what service should I use to unlock my phone? I found a shady one that's free but I am not too comfortable about that.

A) The SIM slot on your Verizon S5 is already unlocked. There is no reason to pay any service for that. All Verizon LTE phones have unlocked SIM slots out of the box.
B) The Verizon S5 will work with T-Mobile, Straight Talk, Cricket, AT&T, etc. You may not get LTE everywhere with some networks, but you'll certainly get HSPA+. All you'll need to do is make sure you have the proper APN settings for the network you're using in order to get data working properly.

Note 4 Network Settings

I want to ask something about the network settings within the Note 4. Looking at the picture below, I can't lock my connection to GSM. And another issue is that even though I choose 3G only, my connection seems to like GSM more than 3G. Please, kindly enlighten me

P.S.
Firstly, I bought the Korean SK version (910S). Secondly, I haven't had my hands on the international version (910H here in my country) because none of my friends have it and the display model in the store doesn't have SIM inserted so the settings isn't accessible.

[Q] Domestic unlock help

Hello. I have a galaxy s4 i got as a trade the other day. It's on 4.4 rooted, with custom recovery etc. The thing is i want to use it on t-mobile. I tried accesing one of the hidden menus but i guess i don't have the msl code and no app works to get it. The question is: how do i unlock my device to succesfullly use it on t-mobile? (us) thanks.

There are a couple threads on this in the Sprint S4/General section.
