T-Mobile Visual Voicemail .apk - Nexus 5 Themes and Apps

Here is the apk for T-Mobile VV for us owners of a N5, that isn't carrier branded.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hssaf73uqq5gc1l/T-MobileVV.apk

Nice one! Thanks!

Thanks for this. What do you mean by not carrier branded though?

Just do you guys know, it works perfect. I have been running it for almost two weeks and it's been working flawlessly.

You can't download this from the playstore unless you have a T-Mobile branded phone.

I downloaded the T-mobile Visual Voicemail app from the Playstore and use it without any issues on my N5. I'm not sure what you're talking about...

No work here. Get a message saying no response from the server.

Any one have any ideas how to keep from getting dual notifications? I get a normal voice mail notification (white tape cassette icon) and vvm pink icon.
Also tmo vvm app does NOT show up for me with the N5 stock in the play store. Those who show it in play store must be running custom rom maybe?

On stock N5 at least, I kept getting a non compatibility message when I wanted to dl this. So I pulled this apk off of my S4 backup in Helium. I've had no problem with it so far, but I don't get a lot of VMs.

Stock ROM and rooted here. I pushed the official app via the Play Store website. N5 displayed as compatible.

Must be a new update since I checked last week and it wasn't compatible on the play store.

anyone else getting texts showing up as sent from you to "122" with the message "Activate:dt=6"?
It's related to Tmobile's VVM service and that code seems to be a way to activate voicemail? But it's the only message that's ever sent from my phone and randomly throughout the day, even if i don't have any new voicemails.

Thanks needed this and couldn't find it on the market!

I've gotten that a couple times. I created a Google contact call T-Mobile Alerts with the following numbers:
456
1511
122
7777
Makes things easier to look prettier in Hangouts or whatever SMS/MMS app you use.

Thank you for uploading this. T-Mobile needs to fix VVM being unavailable on the market asap.

What did you guys search to find this on the market? Cause I cant even find it in the market.

I originally was able to see and install T-Mobile VVM on my Nexus 5....then when 4.4.2 came out I did a factory reset and it was no longer available.
Here's the apk for version 3.7.4.2 released on 12/10/2013. Just got it off of my Galaxy S3 using APK Share. I just installed it on my Nexus 5 and it seems to be working fine....but have only tested it with one voicemail. Don't know if I will start getting the dt=6 SMS again.

[Q] New Hangouts app

I was wondering if anyone had tried yet. Mine still shows up as talk, but when I go to the play store it says I have hangouts installed and when i open it from the play store it just opens talk. Since talk came as a system app on the phone does it not get swapped out for hangouts?
Yeah, same here. I wouldn't worry about it though, I'm sure it'll be fixed quite soon.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337
They updated it today. But I just went in and in uninstalled talk from system (im rooted) and installed hangouts from Play store. So far I like it. Can't wait untill it has sms integration which they said is coming soon

Talk got replaced by Hangouts for me. I did push it from the Play Store from my desktop though. You can try to backup Talk, uninstall it, then install Hangouts. That worked for me also. You're not missing much though. The big news is that it's available for iOS.

Check out the permissions for Hangouts, it already includes sending and receiving SMS and MMS. In addition there was a post by a Google employee (don't recall where, but I read it earlier today) saying that it will be coming soon as it's one of the most requested features.

Key there is to open the link via browser. Even if you have Google Talk, you can install Google Hangouts over it.

if u ever get ur identity stolen by them u could easily sue them..i dont think a multimillion dollar company would want to go bankrupt for committing frauds
they are making multi million from users data... so you have to take care of your own privacy
installing xprivacy now ... thanks to those who suggested this app
Hrmmm, so let me get this straight...
**Runs automatically at startup
**Can open internet connectivity at will without user consent
**Can download files at will without user consent
...isn't that malware (by definition)?
I have mandated that my wife uninstall that bloated POS FB app since a few months ago when the permissions started getting bad... but this update takes the cake! I'm telling everyone I know to just use FB through a web browser!
Thanks OP
I'm going to give tinfoil a try.
It is essentially a "pretty wrapper" as the dev puts it for the facebook mobile site. Thanks for the post OP, I hadn't thought about what permissions the FB app was using with the latest update, I need to pay more attention.
If anyone wants the Facebook app before the latest (the one without all the permissions) its here - https://mega.co.nz/#!50l2mArA!cfLEwuLOT7-72Cknq3M4hAJtHAMWXxqK7P0X-tiBEDs

Seriously, fair enough if you want to worry about this but I personally couldn't give a toss. I have an unlimited data plan so if it wants to turn my WiFi off (which it NEVER has) then go for it. If they want to read my SMS, go right ahead seeing I get about one a week!
If you're not happy about it, don't use Facebook at all

Then why is the permission there? If it does not use it why did they added it there?
And when they didnt use the permission till now it doesnt mean they will not use it in the future.
The only way is not xprivacy...
Take care of your data and do not install crappy apps... If all users accept such behaviour, there won't be changes... You are responsible for your data....

Built-in Caller ID Hidden but can be turned on

Pardon me if this is already posted but I'm sitting in the hospital bored and figured I'd dig around to see if this could be enabled on the Tmobile variant of the s7(edge).
During the announcement they showed off the incoming caller ID by whitepages which is quietly hidden away so that Tmobile can sell their caller ID service. It is still on board though.
1) Download an activity manager. (Such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut)
2) Let it load then search for the word identify.
3) A single result should show up under phone settings.
4) Launch it and enable the setting.
5) Haven't had the chance to test yet but as long as the framework is on board it should work.
This setting is normally under advanced settings for the system but hidden by Tmobile.

I understand carriers have their own service, but this kinda stuff should be illegal. Once my phone is paid off, it should be treated as an unlocked phone and the carriers shouldn't be blocking features or services that come with the phone.
Whitepages ID is working straight from T-Mobile on my Galaxy S7 Edge. Not blocked or anything. It's not perfect as the website is also not but it works
If I'm right, and I'm never right, this is probably to enable the Google proprietary caller ID feature suits TMobile has their $3.99 a month caller ID feature Google disable this and our phones for T-Mobile my guess is that right there turns it back on but you also have to have the service enabled somehow as in maybe a Google Voice phone number something like that

This is what I am currently doing, I just find it baffling that we have free services that we can use as part of a product we bought but we have to download and app to use it, even do it should be part of our dialer. But because the carrier is stuck in 2007, before smart phones, when you had to pay for ringtones and text messages and caller ID!

There was news that google was releasing it through an update on the GOOGLE APP on select devices running nougat. They started releasing not to long ago maybe a day or two.
It was the Google play store 03/02/17 but not enabled on my device until 03/03

Google announced Assistant will be coming to devices with an update to the play services. It's rolling out.
I myself haven't switched from the nonoffical nouget because it's a hassle to wipe and start over.
I haven't got the update on yet either.

I just haven't because temp root is trash. Only reason to root perm root and twrp custom rims also. Aosp on s7 would make it a lot cleaner faster more battery efficient but we will never get that on ANY FUTURE AT&T SAMSUNG DEVICES. Just switch of SAMSUNG device permanently or full unlocked noncarrier phones. Or switch carrier. That's what I plan on
Doing. Also all SAMSUNG s7s on a?AT&T only have 32 gb models which is BS because there are 128 4th models and android bought OS uses 9.9 GB leaving 20 for apps and photos. What they think applications are going to run through the cloud like nextbit robbin only phone that does it doubtful. So you can have barely any apps on all FUTURE Sammy devices. On art so I just switch of SAMSUNG. AT&T SAMDUNG devices are crap. Wish I still had my galaxy note 4 was way better and had root perm and rims last Sammy at&t device with it I bet.
Edit : lol typos from typing on cell carelessly led to an autocorrect of SAMDUNG
still no GA here. I have the t mobile variant on official N. I did receive a google app update on 3rd but it didn't have GA. some people appear to be getting and I have no idea how. An .APK dump with GA on it would awesome
It's under beta in the settings menu of Google play on Android 7 with and s7 edge... I got it there...Open Goole play then slide open your settings menu for Google play and under my games and apps it's under beta.... Or you may have to enable beta in the settings then search.. it's there! Make sure your play store version is the latest version and you should have a beta tab with Google under it which is the assistant....
I literally just got it a few minutes ago on my at&t edge

So I have both the beta and everything appears updated but it is not showing up. The only issue i have ran into is that the services where downloaded under two accounts on my phone.
Signed up to be a beta for both Google Play Services and the Google app early yesterday afternoon. Woke up to GA on my phone this morning. Not sure if it helped, but thought I'd mention it just in case.
Mid-Missouri region.
I got on two of my S7E. T-mobile and AT&T
Did anybody make to work from any screen? Mine are not working, i need to unlock my phones.
