Action bar - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sorry I'm not sure what it's officially called but the bar to the side you can slide out for quick launching apps. I would like to know if there is a way to put whatever app I want in there instead of the limited choices they give you.

I don't really know if you can do this, I think if an app is not display in the quick launching apps that's because it isn't compatible with multi-tasking.

Mw app manager! Does exactly what I want! Awesome!!

Or AntTek App Manager, free.
You can natively freeze them with ICS, in your app drawer (stock TW Launcher) drag the app icon to app info, and click disable
I removed them. No need to freeze if your plan on not using them. Free up internal space.

From your app drawer, click and hold on the program you want, and it should take you to your home screen....at the top you should see "App Info". Drag the app icon onto that and it'll display the info you need.

hrmm...maybe it's because I haven't had my morning tequila shot yet but I don't see any such app info icon when I do what you're saying. I go to the app drawer, click and hold an app, it takes me to the home screen, but there's nothing anywhere that says app info.
Could this be something that's not on the ATT version of the phone?
::edit:: ok...I'm an idiot. I found it....but it's at the bottom of the screen, not at the top.
I just disabled them except for samsung account which I use for Samsung Dive.

I had to uninstall updates and then disable became an option.
Using the app info method works great if you are not rooted.
In the event you are rooted, using TB is easier. both work without any issues for all listed apps in the op.

No sir. You can do this with most of the pre-installed carrier software. I believe the option is "disable". When you see it you'll know what I mean. In fact it was the one thing that made me think that I wouldn't have to root my phone. Then I quickly got annoyed by the T-Mobile startup and shut down sounds. Can someone please tell T-Mobile to leave the standard start up and shut down sequence alone. I mean expect that from Verizon; Have you heard any of their phones start up? They're crazy obnoxious.
Great feature! You can also go to settings-applications-all and do or that way. Just uninstall updates and then you will have the disable button. Thanks for the top all.

Any way to change the soft keys?

I've looked around and it appears there are a number of paid apps that apparently let me change the soft keys, but I'm not 100% sure if they'll work with the stock LG G2 "OS"...
I want my multitasking button back... No need for a settings button, IMO.

Absolutely. And I'm handy with UNIX, so navigating the filesystem and using text editors to muck with XML isn't a problem. I'm just not a developer.

Just tested, no you can not. It will always hide after you lock your screen, so you'll have to swipe/touch to bring the soft keys back up.

And also it will always overlap over the screen. There are ways to keep the navbar from disappearing, but you won't be able to access anythi g underneath it because it doesn't shift the screen up, just overlay

My quasi solution was auto hide soft keys, auto to 0, auto hide only had anywhere on the bar checked, and swipe. You still need to swipe after wake, but if you need anything under it, just tap the left side to hide. If you use the mock option, home will leave space for it.

Under all apps it is called clock widget. Not sure what the official apk name is. It's probably the lg one that you mentioned. If you dont mind,PM me a link on the files so I can grab them or share them with me through google if you would like.
The lg clock widget definitely has references in it to quick cover. I was only able to look at it for a bit, but it had all the colors and mentions of the fancy watch faces as well. I didn't see where that would get activated though. I was going to look at lglockscreen tonight to see if there was a way in there to add more widgets. Let me know if you find anything and if i can help. Good luck

So i haven't found anything in the framework. I'm gonna see if i can get ahold of systemui or the launcher app and look into both of those. I did however create a slightly modified clock widget app for quick window. If someone would like to test for me... The only differences should be that purple is changed to green and i took out the backdrop faded 8 behind each number. I would appreciate a tester to let me know if the mods worked or not.

Yes I know, but sincerely I hate persistent apps notifications in notification bar... I have widget in lockscreen (and from some days ago the widget has change appearance, for me is very ugly...), but I prefer use complete remote from the app... However it's not a problem to click on a button after a few seconds, but if I can skip that screen can be better... Or delete also, and keep only remote

Yea I know what you mean. I actually use IR remote as well, it's handy as it opens straight into the remote after you have used one. I know some people don't like having more than one app for one purpose but it's free and work a look.

Yeah, it doesn't work. It's just like Blocking Mode when the S3 was originally released. You could find it and turn it on in a similar way, but it didn't actually do anything when turned on (even though the icon was displayed in the task bar just like it is for this).

Yup the GN2 was the same way. It required extensive code to get it working right due to the integration with TouchWiz. I am hoping this might be quite a bit simpler.
I am going to compare the t-mobile code and the vzw code to see the differences.
