The apk is in one of my posts, but that doesn't matter. Even in the colonies it can't be set up since they killed the servers. Your best bet is to sideload cyanogenmod onto it. If you use one of the versions of cyanogen that makes use of the amp you can use cheapcast to be able to stream music to it.
Its been abandoned by google though.

EASIEST way to tether the Vibrant

go to http://www.samsungapps.com/about/onPc.as to download Samsung Kies....it's a Desktop Manager for your phone(like BB Desktop Manager). It has an option right in the software to tether. Will even auto set up your connection for you.
In addition it will even allow you to sync contacts with outlook, save them to your PC, transfer media, sync music/pics/videos, convert video, etc
Not There
Not available in USA
Download the UK version. Select Galaxy S. Set location as UK and choose English as the language, that is unless you speak/write a different language . Change USB to connect via Kies.
This is better than the free PdaNet and such as you can get to secure sites.
http://www.samsungmobile.co.uk/support/samsung-mobile-manuals.do
The link I poseted takes you straight to the download page. all you have to do is hit "Download Kies" and you're good to go.
Too bad I have a Mac, I'll just run parallels though
Rashad, for Macs..

how do you change the USB connection? so that Kies reads the device I keep getting a connection notification saying that my connection type is not supported. Thanks. Love the program so far, should have been included with the device IMO.

Nice. This is much better than the free ones on the market since they block https.

I wouldn't call that "the EASIEST way," since it requires a rooted phone.
Didn't work for me and I'm rooted

It's not by Google, since when did they care about root users anyways.

Good point.
However, it takes a couple of minutes to root the phone and you only have to do that once (as opposed to installing drivers on every computer you wish to tether). Not to mention the fact that you can't tether an iPad or other device that isn't running Windows if you are using one of the non-root methods.

Well... It's on code.google.com so it's easy to make that logical leap and say it's "from" Google (they provide the group space to develop and distribute it). I don't know who created it but it works. There is at least one bug (issues when closing it down) but that will be fixed soon I am sure.
The easiest way is just to use Ubuntu lol. It works out of the box without changing any settings. Just put your phone in debugging mode.
Just wanted to add this as some one who keeps their phone constantly plugged in. In the Applications>USB section of the settings menu you can have it ask you how your prefer to connect ect time you plug in.
Fantastic! Didn't even bother to download Kies before, didn't think i needed it. Was debating if it was worth spending money to buy a stupid app just to get tethering. Now i don't need to.

PDANET TABLET Beta 2 released!

It appears that PDANET tablet has released it's new beta that is supposed to work with Blackberrys! Unfortunately you can't search for it right now in the actual market, but if you google pdanet tablet beta2 the first link will take you to the market link for it, but I can't install it from there. One of the problems is that it says it isn't compatible with the Acer a500. If anyone is able to get this app and if they can make it work PLEASE LET US KNOW!!!!!!
Wireless tether or barnacle work well.I had lots of crashes with pdanet
But I guess if you don't root its the only option I know of.
BETA 2 unfortunately won't ever come out. I sent an email to June Fabrics since I've been a customer for over a year now and this is what they told me:

Right now, I have moved on to the tablet as my choice of computing needs for traveling and noticed you have a tablet version. I understand it is in beta and may or may not work which is fine but once beta 2 came into light, no one got a chance to use it.
>
> Is it going to be released any time soon or is June Fabrics giving up on the tablet version period? Will they consider getting the regular pdanet version to work via BlueTooth and connect that way to the Tablet instead? I hope you can shed some light on this simple matter! Again, thank you very much and keep up the great work your team does.

Yes you can install the "PdaNet Tablet" software to do that. However you

MK808b / Netflix / corrupt video

Any idea if there is anything I can do about this?
I could describe the problem, but the pictures attached do a better job!!
NB: The Last picture shows the on-screen controls are not corrupted, just the video.
BTW... Netflix support were hopeless..

I had the exact same issue and with trying multiple ROMS, the only one that worked was an old one. It is software-build related.
The build that worked for me was "update_mk808b_400j1401" I found via one of these links that the eBay seller sent me:
1) http://www.mk808.com/MK808/en/Download.html
2) http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php/firmware-download/
I used flashing software found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070390
It works great, but not their latest Android Build...
I did have issues trying to find Android Phone software working with this device build, but LANmote is a pretty good solution, and the only one I could get to work. I tried like 4 paid versions of apps for this stick, and this is the only one I got to work... Most services(/servers on the machine?) didn't want to start and/or function with this build.
I was thinking about buying another ROKU, but for 1/2 the price and a full-featured Android PC for half the price of a ROKU, I knew what the better choice was!
("Android phone" remote control "android touchpad" tablet control "use android phone for HTPC stick control" MK808B)
Is this build I referenced working for you?
I got sick of the antiquated interface, and tried a build for 1080p...
Works GREAT, until I was streaming Netflix for a while and the screen just went black.
Maybe I will try a finless ROM.
Hi,
I tried finless 1.7, and it works great! An older version of JB, but that's fine, I can live with that!
Thanks for the help.

I have 2 on the way, should arrive by May 2, and I will let you know how those $4.99 10/100 dongles work...
Some guy in the UK bought them for his, and this looks like the same ones, but I will verify before dropping a link to the adapter, as this is public.
I got the 10/100 dongle and it worked OOTB, after enabling in settings, no config, just plugged it in enabled Ethernet, and it pulled HDCP from Cat5.
Here is a link if anyone wants a wired connection: http://www.ebay.com/itm/350766060467
$4.99
I did have some lag in streaming, but this even happens on Netflix via my Roku sometimes, even with my 50Mbps/25Mbps pipe.
BTW I have been running "Stock plus goodies" from here on XDA, and it has been pretty stable...
a solution

Hi,
I have same problem with netflix. I bought this device only for netflix and youtube (because Samsung Smart TV is a sucks). My device is a android 4.2. I did read here and on others sites about this problema and the solution is install android 4.1. With your links a found this instructions on this link:
http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.ph...pc-new-factory-firmware-release/#.Ua4K5EBwrqU
I downloaded the files "update_mk808b_400j1401", drivers and flashing software.
I can't perform these instructions because my PC doesn't recognize the device. I have a Windows 7 x64. I plug my device into my PC and nothing happens. On some posts I did read that is necessary to use Windows XP. Oh god, I don't believe this!
I need a help to solve this problem. Can you post to me a way to install this 4.1 rom on my device, step by step, the way you solved on your device?
I tryed to install a oldest versions of netflix, but the problem did not solved. I like very much that device with a 4.2, I would like to keep this version. Is there a fix of Android 4.2 of MK808B to solve this problem? Do you know?
Thanks!

This netflix apk version is the prove that the problem is on the netflix app and not the Android. I will send an email to Netflix about this problem, let me see what they will answer...
Thanks everybody!

It's a somewhat complex process, but there are step by step instructions in the readme file included with the finless ROMs. I found that getting the drivers installed was the hardest part. I also found that using the reset switch was easier if I opened the case.

You need to go into settings to see it as it does not show up on main window on the player.
So far not impressed with nexus player. Plex ap requires you to run from desktop before you can use app. My roku 3 runs from the app only need server running.
Sorry to get off topic.

I've been working on some stuff all day. I was able to get the Developer option to show up like any other Nexus device. Go to the About > Scroll down to build > Click the Select button repeatedly until dev options are unlocked. Reboot player by removing power. Dev options will now show up in the menu, under preferences. Select Dev Options, go down to USB Debugging, turn on. Lastly, go back to the Security & Restrictions option and turn on Unknown Sources.
From there with the Nexus player connected to your PC, 'adb install your-package-name.apk' via fastboot options.
Currently have Kodi (XMBC) 14.0 Beta 1 working on it.

Lollipop is brand new... it'll take a while for most apps to be updated for the new APIs, just like any other major release of android. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the hardware on the Nexus Player... its simply a brand new OS that most apps haven't been updated for. The current situation is no different on the Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and any other phone updated to Lollipop.

The note 9 doesn't need a physical dex dock, just a type c to hdmi cable. I have one plugged into my TV and a keyboard that connects to 4 devices over bluetooth. Phone screen acts as a mouse.

No problems here, got an immediate confirmation email, stating a link for the app will be sent soon (11/12/18 or thereabouts,I'm guessing, per the signup page).
If you're on mobile, perhaps try on desktop PC with any ad blockers & such turned off (Ghostery/AdBlockPlus/etc...).
Another thought came to mind, check to make sure when you enter your gmail address, leave off the @ gmail.com,as it's already there.
