Lost root after 4.3?

Hello everyone! I updated my phone to 4.3 and lost root. I have a macbook pro and downloaded the mac toolkit which is supposed to be able to root 4.3. But for some reason it cannot detect my phone when it is in fastboot mode as the toolkit tells me to do.
Any ideas? thanks.
Did you flash a recovery? If that's the case, download the latest SuperSU version from here:
http://download.chainfire.eu/345/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51.zip?retrieve_file=1
And flash it via recovery.

Rooted N7 wifi updated to 4.4.2 lost root and recovery.

The subject should say it all except this is the 2012 version of nexus7. I already have a flashable zip of cwm touch in /sdcard/ but its not being picked up possibly because recovery has gone bad.
I am trying to reinstall recovery ideally cwm without using a PC. Can anyone help?

Updating 4.4 to 4.4.2 with XPOSED

Hey guys, I tried looking for the answer to this but couldn't find any info.
I'm currently on rooted, stock 4.4, stock kernel with XPOSED installed. I want to update to 4.4.2 without losing data.
I don't want to re-root using a computer method such as one click install since it does not work on my computer. What are my options?

Click to collapse
The other I can see is with custom recovery.
Procedure:
Flash custom recovery like CWM or TWRP if you don't have,
Download OTA 4.4.1, 4.4.2 zip and SuperSU 1.8 zip
Disable Xposed
Boot into recovery
Install 4.4.1 OTA zip then 4.4.2 OTA zip
Install SuperSU zip
Reboot your phone
Enable Xposed

[Q] 4.4.2 root enquiry

Sorry for the dumb question, don't know much about rooting devices. I had root access in 4.4, but without thinking, when prompted to install 4.4.2,
I installed the update. To root it again do I have to do anything different than normal?
Do you have custom recovery? Copy supersu zip to /sdcard boot into recovery and run the zip. http://download.chainfire.eu/372/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.86.zip?retrieve_file=1

Upgrading TWRP and Root Problem

So basicly I just want to upgrade my TWRP version (from 2.6.3.2 to 2.6.3.3+) in order to flash new kitkat roms.
But I have 2 issues:
1) I have rooted my device and installed TWRP 2.6.3.2 on my LG stock rom, then I wanted to change rom, so I wiped all but internal storage and flashed Beanstalk 4.4.2 + GAPPS. Now it looks like there's a problem with my root access (root checker says that there is a problem and superSU won't install binary updates). Recovery works fine. Do I need to root my phone again or what? Can I just do these steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448887 all over again?
Edit: Ok, After flashing http://download.chainfire.eu/376/SuperSU/, I just needed to deativate supersu and reactivate it. Now it works just fine!
2) I wanted to upgrade my TWRP using FreeGee, but it looks like the app couldn't load without root access (Issue 1). So can I upgrade it with just doing these steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449670 all over again?
Sorry for the long questions.
Thanks
Download the zip file for twrp. Boot into recovery and install the zip
