[BOOTANIMATION] Nexus One Boot Animation for N5 - Nexus 5 Themes and Apps

Hi,
I've ported the N1 bootanimation over here to the N5. Still need a little bit of work though on the quality but I thought I'd release this because I'd be quite busy in the coming weeks.
Installation:
Download and rename to bootanimation.zip, copy to system\media and set permissions to rw-r--r-- and enjoy.
DOWNLOAD

Great, thanks for sharing.

Yeah, it looks poor because you're scaling 512x256 images to 1920x1080. The images are about a quarter of the resolution that they're actually being displayed at.
Still neat though, makes me a bit nostalgic.

Hi all,
could you post this gif so I'd work it like a bootanimation?
Thanx!

Nexus S bootanimation is also wrong orientation and it works like a charm
Try this.
bootanimation.zip
Seems that complex images make for bigger PNG files and loading can be a bit laggy. This is speeded up and low frame rate and works OK.
Kal
Will it be same as a video one?

Good stuff, that saves me making it lol
If I get a chance later I'll rotate it right, crop it down and stick it on top of a grey background so it pleases the naysayer up there *points*

It's been hard finding good wallpapers that actually fit this phone correctly without making it look bad. So anyone want to share some wallpapers that actually look good on our phone?

A good app that I use is Wallpaper Wizardrii from the market, and I believe it's free. Pick any of your wallpapers you have saved and it'll automatically set it to fit your screen size, and you can make it either scrollable or nonscrollable. Works perfect for me. In fact, my current wallpaper is sized for my computer, and this app sized it perfectly for my phone.

try this apps :
https://market.android.com/details?id=wallpapers.santabanta.com&feature=search_result
Sorry that version doesn't have the date cropped, but should be easy to fix as you're setting it as wallpaper. Yes, it's an out of focus pic of the screen of a dvd player displaying r00t, but imo that's freakin awesome.
Forget where I found this 1 but sadbot is cool too.

I tried the app,but some wallpapers still look messed up. I'll upload a picture later.
I've been using this one for a while now:
Use the app called 'Zedge', It is the best app for wallpapers, ringtones and notifications. Check it out on the market

Hot summer
feeling hot this summer chk this out ,for all walls download from the link below
http://www.multiupload.com/X0I8K2TK1W
Here's a quick collection I did and I assure you they will look great!!
* most of these images aren't mine, I just found them on the net then resized for our screens, sharpened, corrected colors, blabla... I take no credit for them.
You can download the pack from here: http://www.multiupload.com/TK3N8RQEVJ.
As a side note, some of these backgrounds actually have interesting... backgrounds.
For example, "deep field" is an image made by Hubble, showing the furthest reaches of the Universe (light emitted ~ 13.5 billion years ago), "cherenkov" is an actual picture of a nuclear reactor (nuclear radiation isn't green, like in the movies, but that very cool blue) and "vitruvian", if you didn't know already is inspired by DaVinci's Vitruvian Man.
I'm currently switching between staredad and vitruvian, I love them both so much!
Two of my favourite background. Very nice with Laucher Pro and default icon
Anyone have the stock HTC Sensation 4G Wallpaper? (not the unlocked HTC Sensation color wallpaper)

Here's another wallpaper pack:
You can download it from: http://www.multiupload.com/WWMNADQR59.
Now, a little backstory: the pictures depicting the International Space Station are real (and pretty awesome), mars.png is an actual photo of a sunset on the planet Mars and atmosphere is an image made by the crew of the ISS (you can see the troposphere, stratosphere - more info here: http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap100623.html).
Hope you like 'em!
*Blabla, I take no credit in making these images... I just resized, sharpened etc.

last 2 of mine

what resolution for backround image?

So I have a DHD with cyanogenmod 7 and using the scrolling wallpaper (so the backround moves when I change screens). I have 7 screens and wonder what resolution the backround image would need?
It feels like the 12mb 3800x3600 backround picture is slowing down the phone ;D
Thanks
For a scrolling wallpaper I think it's 960x800 ((480(x2))x800).
Yeah a 3800x3600 image is definitely gonna slow things down.

Hi!
Perhaps i´m missing something here and i´ll happily concede that this format is somewhat unusual but if there are 7 homescreens across wouldn´t the best fitting resolution be ((480x7))x800) ~ 3360 x 800?
Regards
ELO
AFAIK you scroll across in gradual steps as opposed to a complete screen width across.

Wallpapers and wallpaper size?!

What damn resolution do i have to get for this thing not to crop out my image and make it look like poo! lol i hate the way android does its wallpapers
tried the same this morning (just got the phone ) and found that to have a pixel perfect wallapaper the size must be 1436x1196, then apply it using QuickPic from the Play Store (free): it will prompt a cropping window, but you can just press the save button and it will apply it full size :good:
CIAO
oh awesome , quality stuff cheers
also how did you work that out? would be nice to know for my N10

look at the resolution of stock wallpapers! in case you need to extract them to figure the resolution out you should be able to do it using "wallpaper set and save" from the Play Store

Doing stuff for free doesn't get a lot of love on here
Just have some fun.
Your animation is a full 1080p. That's a little adventurous for the N5. My recommendation is 720p (720x1280, or 720x720), and scale it via the desc.txt. Full 1080p bootanimations tend to stutter or even lock up the N5.
For the N5 bootanimations, my max "portrait" frame size is 720x1280; for "landscape", it's 1080x720. A 1080x1080 frame will still lock-up a N5.
Another issue is that the details are too tiny to be visible on a 5" display. If you crop 720x1280 (or even 540x960) -- centered -- frames from your originals, then scale to 1080x1920 via the desc.txt, there will be more clarity and the animation will make more sense.
As a creature of habit, I would crop the frames to 540x960, scale them to 720x1280, and leave the desc.txt alone.

Anyway, good bootanimation.
