Hey guys, I used to be unlimited on vzw but really wanted the x. After going through a round of incompetent agents on the phone I got in contact with several who were able to give me 6gb of data for the same price as unlimited used to be. This was NOT part of the edge program but part of a promotion for old unlimited users. I know some of you guys here use 20 GB a month or more so it doesn't work for you, but I use just under five so I thought it was a decent alternative!

To clarify I used an upgrade and got a subsidized x using moto maker and received 6gb per month instead of 2 for the same price because I was unlimited

this plan has been out for months now and i think it's been covered here before. there are other ways to get a subsidized phone on an unlimited plan.
I didn't realize people were aware you could get it WITHOUT participating in the edge plan. Half the vzw agents didn't seem to think you could anyways. Sorry for the duplicate post.

the "only" way to purchase a subsidized phone and keep unlimited is to have a line that doesn't have unlimited data and that either has an upgrade (new line) or you transfer your upgrade to that line, activate it on that line, and then transfer it to your unlimited line. this method not only keeps your unlimited but also locks you in a contract for the next 24 mo.

So, just found Out today that we can no longer get non smartphone unlimited data (Media Net) for $10 per month. It comes up as the Note and is forced into the 300mbps plan or 3gb plan. Just wanted to post this here.

I used this method about a year ago for my wifes plan. However, AT&T had locked the process up a bit. After I connected the 1st gen iphone to itunes and activated it, selecting the unlimited plan, the phone would not finish activating. I called and no one knew what was up. Then I got a call from AT&T asking about the old iphone and what was going on. I told them that my wife had broke the screen on her 3GS and while it was getting repaired she was going to use the old iphone. I played dumb about the whole itunes/apple crap and was able to get it activated. We've still got the unlimited service today but they've been on to the "exploit" for a while. Don't know if it still works today, biggest problem is finding an original iphone. Hope this helps!

I had a original iphone 4gb version just went to itunes and filled in the account form and it activated allowing me to click on unlimited data for 20.00 plus 300 text.

Was it a whole new account, add a line, or just swapping phones on a line? I'm extremely curious as to how you did it, haven't been able to find anyone who's tried to do it recently.

Switching to the iPhone on the regular line which I had 200 mb of data now I have unlimited lte data .

I own Samsung s2,s3, galaxy note ,HTC one x and iPhone 5 it'll work with any of these as long as u have the original iPhone still.

*sigh* i finally purchased an iphone 2g, used an older version of itunes to restore/activate, and it doesnt give me any option to pick what data plan i want. just asks me to name the iphone and thats it. went from a basic messaging phone with no data to the iphone 2g.
anyone have any insight?

but i do not represent such on xda,
based on latest plan rates of AT&T we no longer hold new accounts for the 1st gen iphones based on unlimited data,
we still have the dumb phone unlimited plan,
however it is still subject to activation and verification,

Not 100% percent sure but I think he is playing.....
1. It DOESNT MATTER WHAT PHONE YOU PUT ON after having unlimited data! just as long as you dont change your data plan.
2. He`s saying for $20 dollars.... Once you put another phone on besides the iPhone 2g it will go to $30 dollars within a few hours. SO I think he`s a joker.

Hi have 4 unlimited AT&T lines that I want to give away. I've heard doing a transfer of ownership with AT&T doesn't work the same as Verizon. Is it true with AT&T that unlimited data won't transfer?

Free T-Mobile Msg: Our $70 Monthly4G plan now includes UNL 4G data. Smartphone Mobile Hotspot is not avail. This will change on your next renewal after 2/20.
What do you think that means?

Seems like it's just an advertisement. That plan used to have a cap. Now it's unlimited

The $70 prepaid plan has changed from 5gb of 4g speeds to unlimited 4g speeds. Assuming you're on the $70 plan, you will have unlimited next month.

We received an ad for this, but it said terms and conditions apply. I dunno what's in the fine print, but it can't be good....
I just called AT&T Customer Service and got them to change my plan. 15 gigs for free! Totally worked! Thanks for sharing this!

No different then the terms for my 10gb plan (or probably any size data plan) and this is for share plans only.
If you already have a 10gb it's a no brainer. If you been considering adding data this is a nice incentive.
I actually finally have up my unlimited data plan for the 10gb plan just a couple of days before this offer became available. Did so for three reasons:
1. Unlimited data = fast data for 5GBP and then unlimited SLOW data. Went over once but no fun. Music streaming was ok everything else was frustrating.
2. It includes unlimited calls and text before I had 700 minutes and 200 text. I never came close to using those minutes (had like 7000 roll over minutes), but 200 text was an issue.
3. It was cheaper by about $20 to my old plan.
So when the offered 15gb on my 10gb plan I was very happy.
anyone know if this is available for the 4 line family plan?
