[Q] List of Android hardware with OTG support - Hardware Hacking General

Hello,
I am looking for list of hardware that supports Android, but this hardware needs to support OTG.
Is there a web site that has list of all the Android phones/tables that support OTG?
To be specific I am looking for something that has 4/4.5 inch screen and OTG.
Anybody knows if the new Motorola G phone supports OTG, I looked at their spec sheet doesn't call it out explicitly, where as Nexus 5 explicitly lists OTG support.

TV-out?

Title says it all, anyone have the scoop?
Thanks.
Cyph
well we know android OS supports TV out and the USB connection supports it as well, its all up to whether an accessory is made or not.
i had no idea android supported it, nor usb
it does. mytouch 3g has an officia TV out accessory sold by tmobile on their website.

[Q] Video Out ???

Does anyone have any information on Video Out capabilities? According to Mobile Tech World there is only one device the LG Quantum / Optimus 7 has analog Video Out capabilities. On it it is via the 3.5mm jack.
Typically Samsung also uses the 3.5mm jack for Video Out.
HTC uses a squared off USB port, athough, I have looked at the photos posted online and looks like a standard micro USB port on the HTC devices, maybe they switched over to the 3.5mm jack as well.
Also, Paul Thurrott mentioned somewhere about potential Digital Video Out, that being HDMI through the USB port being added at a later date. This would be nice, but would not be the Analog Video Out that many of us need. Also seems to be a feature in the works.
On the plus side, lots of demos have been done and the video out must be coming from somewhere unless they are using an emulator for the purpose.
Does anyone know more about this topic.
Maybe the Focus can utilize DLNA technology? Is DLNA just software utilizing existing wireless equipment or is it separate hardware also?
DLNA is the same Method the Windows Media Player uses to stream Video/Audio to supporting devices so it is a Software feature. As far as we currently know it is one of the features LG implemented to differentiate from the other manufacturers - therefore the Focus most likely won't have this ability.
Samsung wont have DLNA in the beginning. I am hoping Microsoft will push out DLNA to all WP7 as a service pack since it is just a software upgrade. I know LG probably has persuaded Microsoft to keep this in the bag so LG can differentiate their phone at launch.
But when push comes to shove, its all about the features and Microsoft will have to aquise. I give it 3 months untill I get it for the Focus.

[Q] Does Nexus 4 support HDMI-CEC via Slimport?

According to the slimport specifications, the protocol supports HDMI CEC.
I'd like to know whether the Nexus 4 can be controlle via CEC, thus play/pause/fwd/rev using the TV remote, especially with Googles Play Movies.
Anyone tried yet?
I noticed this as well when I ordered my slimport adapter a few days ago. According to the xbmc wiki, "some Android devices support cec [1]".
A google query led me to an Android source file that references CEC quite a lot. It has MSM in the name, which refers to qualcomm. It seems that there is at least some qualcomm chipset that has some form of support for CEC in Android. No idea if this code is actually working however.

Ant+ on nexus 10

If I understand it correctly, ant+ is the same 2.4 GHz as wifi and I see there is an ant+ driver on the play store. So will ant+ networking work on the n10 (or any android 4.2 tablet) or is it something the manufacturer need to hardwire into the hardware?
I have several devices including several heart rate monitors and a bike cadence / speed sensor I would like to use with my tablets. I use them on another android device and the frequency is there... So there should be a way to get then n10 to recognize it?
Ant+ driver on play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsi.ant.service.socket
Anyone got ideas or a solution.?
Thanks!
The 2.4Ghz band is used by many different wireless products (ANT+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cordless phones, car alarms etc), but they will not run on your tablet without the correct firmware and drivers to run them. The N10 does not have ANT+ firmware or drivers (there's a list of devices on the Play Store page you link to) on the hardware it includes. So yes, the manufacturer must build a device that has ANT+ built in to it.
However, you can still use ANT+ on your device. As the N10 supports the USB Host feature, you should be able to connect an ANT USB stick with the ANT USB Service (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsi.ant.usbservice) and a USB OTG cable.
Hopefully this is a solution which works for everyone until there are more devices available with built in ANT+!

Using the otg+USB on the N10 is an option at the gym on a stationary bike or stair climber. Just have to be REAL careful about the USB port and doing any damage. Using it with my Samsung Tab 2 7.0 and my bike would be a little trickier since I have a weather-proof case that mounts to the handlebars. Getting a USB stick or cable into it would not work. Such a shame since there are so many great sport/fitness programs for Android that do support ant+. A little surprising that Google would note code it into their hardware since they are all about tracking/obtaining data.
Could it be done with a custom ROM or is it even deeper in the hardware?
Going to have to do some real hard research for my next tablet.... Find something that does it all?
Thanks for the insight!
The N10 ANT+ hardware has been enabled with the "ANT+ Enabler": http://forum.xda-developers.com/hardware-hacking/hardware/ref-devices-ant-hardware-t2879990

[Q] OTG Support

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get OTG support added in Android Wear? I am using a Lg G Watch and I know the idea probably seems ridiculous but I have a project where it is needed. As far as I understand this should be possible because the chipset (msm8226) is in other devices that support it. I am suspecting that Android Wear doesn't support the api's though and am running into trouble trying to compile cm12 for my watch. Any other ideas would be appreciated!
