They're also wrong about schedule , we should have GPE at the latest by the end of today and dev edition + unlocked withing 16 days from today.

I'm going to guess that the earliest would be tomorrow (hopefully I'm wrong). HTC seems to release things on Fridays.

If HTC sticks to there promise of 15 days we should get it tomorrow. I think we will have it before the Nexus devices too.

I don't believe it'll be exactly on the day. They say 15 days from its announcement. 4.4 was announced on a Thursday. I give them props for the confidence in releasing dates so soon unlike Samsung that just has nothing really. Also if they are pushing it I'll be okay if its within a few days or a week from their proposed day. People get to attached to etas . just wait.

If they do deliver on their promise of today/tomorrow, that'd be awesome.
Someone on reddit posted it might be 15 workdays, which might make more sense and is probably likely if it isn't released today or tomorrow.
Football did tweet that 4.4 GE was nearly finished/ready for rollout and sense 5.5 on android 4.4 was in early testing.
We'll see, I guess. I'm probably gonna convert to GE until android 4.4 + Sense 5.5 comes out.

Will the HTC One for the US (the Unlocked) omit the 4.3 update and go straight to 4.4 KitKat?
Although I'm not that eager for 4.4 it's the fact that we still don't have the new Sense yet that makes me ask.

It already has 4.3. If you're talking about Sense 5.5, then no, it won't get it until it gets the 4.4 update.

The details of the KitKat rollout for the HTC One were shared in an interview with Engadget.
http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/31/htc-one-android-kitkat/
Here are the highlights:
HTC one GPe within 15 days,
HTC One Developer Edition within 30 days
All other North American HTC One SKUs (including all carrier variants) within 90 days
These details were shared on October 31. For HTC to keep the deadline, the HTC One GPe update will need to be released tomorrow and the Dev Edition needs to get its update by the end of November.

Yes but here in xda-developers we have many skilled devs who will accept the challenge and port it for One.

it shouldn't be very hard anyway, fortunately they have the same screen resolution so it doesn't require a lot of resizing...
I think the One will be officialy updated to Android 4.2.2 before the Butterfly

I'd rather HTC skip 4.2.2 and go directly to 4.3
HTC is doing a developer presentation at the Google I/O for features not available on 4.2.2... A number of sites suggested that this means these features will be included in 4.3. But this also means HTC has access to the code of the next Android revision, and hopefully this mean they are already working on a 4.3 update for the One.

Latest rumors are that Samsung is already working in version 4.3 for samsung galaxy s3, so I expect the update to come even earlier.
LOL, just hope it'll be ready before Android 5, or else samsung is never going to catch up with the latest firmware. They haven't even release android 4.2, and they're suposed to be working on Android 4.3? What a joke.
Either way, I gave up waiting for the laggy Samsung firmwares.. even Omega or ARHD start lagging after a while.

Seriously, what is in 4.4 that frustrates you not having it in 4.3.1? What magical hardware feature is going to be unlocked when you load 4.4? I'm curious because from what I can see of 4.4 there is very little of interest to most people other than being on the latest.

Assuming, of course, that this is actually a part of 4.4. Since the purchase only recently closed (what, maybe a week ago?) I question whether Google has had the time and opportunity to integrate this into 4.4. Seems more likely that this would be a cornerstone of a 5.0 release given the timing. <sarcasm> And with the stunning amount of information we have available on 4.4 </sarcasm>, I think it is safe to say we'll have to wait until there is a 4.4 release before we know for sure.

From the little news we heard about the takeover was that they were already integrated into the Android team for several months. But the takeover might be a reason for the delay, that although the work was done the legal matters took longer than expected before they could be finalized.

Keeping my fingers crossed that it is a part of 4.4. Until the deal closed, it would have been unwise of Google (legally speaking) to release any version of Android with Flexycore code built in. That may explain a little of the delay in seeing a Nexus 5 as well as having a 4.3 release. It just seems from a marketing perspective, though, that they might steal a lot of thunder from a 5.0 release by putting tech in 4.4 which gives such a performance boost. But then Google doesn't follow the same marketing path everyone else does, now do they?
Maybe he's excited about the few new UI integrations? Not a big deal but some people like it.

Assuming we saw an inadvertent picture of the Nexus 5 back at the beginning of September, it seems odd that here we are a few days away from 2 months later without even an announcement. The device back then looked a lot more production and less prototype. That says to me delay but no clear reason why. Granted it is an assumption on my part (and maybe I am reading a lot into nothing more than a picture) and I do not have strong feelings one way or the other about it, nor do I think there is some nefarious plan to keep either the Nexus 5 or KitKat from us. I am also more than willing to admit that I am wrong, but in the end I am just engaging in speculation to keep myself busy until something more definitive comes along.

I couldn't find anything on the internet or YouTube to point me in the right direction.
itll be out officially when google officially releases it. only google knows when that will be. asking when its going to be will only get you opinions when the person giving the opinion thinks google will release it.
The rumours are "somewhere in the coming weeks". There's no official ETA. Best is to be patient. It will be there when it's there.

HTC stated the Google Play Edition HTC One would be getting 4.4 within 15 days of KitKats unveiling/release (October 31), so we should be seeing KitKat for Nexus 4 within the next few days. I don't think Google would want to risk alienating Nexus users any further by releasing an update to another device before Nexus devices.
Really?

4.4 rollout in Saudi Arabia?

Just read this article about an apparent rollout that started not too long ago:

Does this mean we can expect to see some stock roms modified and rooted for use on other variants like mine, the D803?*

Surely its a rumor. I am already in Saudi Arabia I just check for update but as usual already have the latest build. by the way software version "D80210D-AME-XX".
Probably won't see the update until after the g3 is released. Why update right before a new product?

Probably won't see the update until after the g3 is released. Why update right before a new product?

Yeah I don't think a g3 will be out until fall. Wouldn't they wait at least close to a year for a successor? the g2 came in September I don't think they'd release a new one after only 6 months that wouldn't give it much time to sell since people would overlook it and want the g3. But I don't know much about it that's just my opinion

There is a official 4.4 discussion thread. It's best to post there rather than creating a thread .. Just saying

I appreciate the input but this was a question I was asking, not a comment.
I was wondering about the validity of the post and whether or not their stock 4.4 could be used on a D803 once modified.
Just because someone once told you the same thing about your question doesn't mean it's the same for every other question.

It would be awesome to have a leaked 4.4 like on the S4.

Who knows maybe there will be one. But the official one should be here soon anyways so a leak this late won't really matter. Isn't the update coming in February?
