Foxfi Working!!! - Droid Ultra General

There is no need to do the entitlement check anymore guys, foxfi finally updated and made it where it will work with maxx, mini, and last but not least, Ultra. If you have done the entitlement check then you are set, but if you got caught in the updates and didn't ever do it this is the way to get tethering for only 8 dollars one time!!

Didn't work. I bought the app a long time ago. Wish they would get it right without certificates needed.

I don't know why it isn't working with you, I also bought it a long time ago and it didn't work but was just released yesterday so maybe there are bugs

WOOOHOOO Confirmed FoxFi working again, I also bought it many moons ago, maybe those having trouble are trying to use the free version?
Very much appreciated, the only reason I ever rooted my phone was for tether. Now after OTA there's a cryptogram of crap to go thru for root,
:good:

Same here I'm not trying to have to root again. Hopefully this will work after they send the next official update after the soak test.

I am on the soak and maybe that is affecting things?
Sent from my XT1080 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I'm not part of any soak test that I'm aware of, I did sign up many moons ago but never received any official correspondence.

Unfortunately it is not free. There is an in app purchurase, to unloc a key of the app. The funny thing is that for Apple users is free. I personally used the previous version, but Thanks to this I will try a new app to perform this function. Definitely lost a customer and sincerely hope that many others go away to.
Same here... Am enjoying watching the ratings go down for it... people are angry....

How does the anywhere access thing work? If I let's say i go on Vacation do I have to leave my computer on the whole time in order to access it?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Yep to the above.. you have to pay by the month or year for that access.... that is why most people are pissed... try teamviewer...

Yes you have to leave it on.
So does the old splash top HD still work, since that didn't require a monthly fee? Edit: yup still works even over 3G

XT907 5-24-13 build OK to root?

I'm new to this device. Came from a og dinc. I'm liking the device so far but I would really like to put cm10.1 on it. Anything I should watch out for when I root this thing?

As long as you have not taken the update in the past week, just use Matt's Utility in these forums to root/unlock (version 1.20 for 4.1.2). Nothing to it really.
How do I know if I took the update? I just got this device yesterday!

Post a screenshot of your about phone screen. Also, of you're asking about a build from May, I'm petty sure that's the update. The last one was from March.

Your device probably shipped with 4.1.1. DO NOT accept any updates that come your way
Please post a screenshot of your about phone screen.
Also, I would recommend you unlock your bootloader after rooting.

I've been rejecting an update recently.
My phone was built 4-5-13. Android 4.1.2
So it's safe to root? Keep rejecting the update? All I really want, for now, is superuser access. Well that, and to be able to turn off these stupid system updates lol.. But the last phone I rooted was a Dinc lol...

Still no update... Sprint

I've had my phone for three weeks. I bought it new from Sprint. Com. In anticipation for kit kat I didn't root or unlock boot loader. It's been over a day is their any reason I haven't received it yet. I've been cranking on the update Motorola software button.

First of all three weeks isn't that long yet, I've been (im)patiently waiting since VZW got it
Second of all, cranking the Update Motorola Software button won't help you a bit, they push out a batch of updates every now and again, if you didn't get it then you won't get after hitting the button either. Just sit tight and it'll come in due time...

me either... still waiting. I check to look every 30 minutes. I know it doesn't help to do so, but I hope that one time it will find it and BAM 4.4.
Maybe you have to be on WiFi because I went to my friends house turned on my WiFi and got the update soon after. This was yesterday. Currently running kitkat and it's buttery smooth.
Look in the sprint dump thread. Very easy way to flash it without root or custom recovery.

Probably not through area but probably 'completely random'. just draw a few numbers and go with that...
Not sure if WiFi makes a difference but I noticed that I got the update when I flipped it on..

same here.
I saw that once yesterday, for the first time. I was waiting for my wife at the airport. I assumed it came from the phone trying to connect to the airport's free wifi as I'd set it up to do that when I'd flown a few weeks earlier. I just nuked that wifi connection from my list as I won't be flying again anytime soon.
If the above solution doesn't work did you try updating your PRL?

It happened to me a bunch of times as soon as the new years ball dropped
But about 90ish minutes later It stopped for good
I'm guessing it happens when the network is overloaded and you get kicked off the data network

I had an idea...

After reading this http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...ncryption-signing-and-locking-let-me-explain/ article, I got to thinking. Could we brute force the private Samsung key and sign our own ROMs? And would such a procedure allow true custom ROMs to be installed?
Just a thought, if it is possible I'd love to fiddle around with it.
