N4 Stuck in headphones mode - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
My Nexus 4 is stuck in headphones mode for a few months now. Sound on headphones is just fine. I tried cleaning 3.5mm jack, but no difference. I'm using SoundAbout app now to make phone usable, but it's anoying to manualy switch every time I plug in or out my headphones. I ordered new headphones jack from ebay for 8.95 pounds from UK (new user, can't post link)
I replaced it, but N4 is still stuck in headphones mode Before I replaced it I've done factory reset, but not yet after replacing.
Looking at the plug it seems like phone detects when headphones plug shorts two pins in connector that connects to the tip of headphones plug (pins are not shorted if connector isn't plugged in). It doesnt have a "switch" like some other connectors.
Phone was not even near water and I never dropped it on the ground.
What do you think it's wrong? Maybe damaged motherboard?

[Q] Repair or Disable headphone jack

Hey,
I've got a problem with my headphone jack on the top...
Even though there's nothing in it, it "believes" a cable is plugged in and thus of course outputs all sound to the empty jack and not to the speakers
Is there any way to repair it or disable the jack completely?
Thanks in advance,
Xenon O
I had the same problem. I was already thinking of a hard reset. But after about 1.5 a 2 hours my phone suddenly reconized that the headset was plugged out. (try'd about 100 times in and out) and my phone went beeping the whole time. Now it works fine.

[Q] Anyone else have a super-tight headphone port?

I plugged in a cheap pair, and it took a pretty good amount of force to get them in, and on removal, the center pin of the male connector actually detached from the headphone connector and stayed stuck in the phone...They were cheap headphones but still...
I wonder is that the reason why google is not providing earphones in the box lol

Nexus 6P headphone jack problem

I recently bought a used Nexus 6P and I knew that it had problems. I resolved all of them except that the phone thinks that the headphones are plugged in. When I bought it I thought that it was lint or headphone plug tip broke off in the jack. This is not the case, I did the standard factory reset just in case it was something software related, tried different ROM's and tried cleaning the jack with air and qtips etc etc.... The last thing I tried was to disassemble the phone and completely remove the headphone jack, because I have Bluetooth headphones and I also ordered a new headphone jack online, which is on back order. The phone still shows that headphones are plugged in? Does anyone else have any suggestions on anything else I can try? I am thinking that it is a problem with the motherboard or does it need a headphone jack plugged in to operate properly?
Edit: Something else I have noticed, I have an app that toggles headphones on and off and it shows the status of the headphones. When I first boot up in the first 20-30 seconds I can remove the headphones from the jack and it shows unplugged then it will switch back to plugged. I have also attached a logcat I stopped it right after it showed that it was plugged in again. Also is it possible to just deactivate the headphone jack by making edits to the rom or would it be a kernel thing?

It has been awhile so I cannot remember where I read it but i found out in my case it was in the board. If you have swapped out the headphone jack already and it is still giving you problems then it is probably the same problem. I bought another phone with a cracked screen on eBay and swapped the board that the headphone jack plugged into.

Thanks for the Info
I was able to isolate the problem a little bit more... more Information and possible updates: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/help/looking-schematics-audio-circuit-t3717278

Use USB-C Headphones?

I got my Mate 9 Pro wet on a run a few weeks ago, I dried it out pretty well, however every time I plug headphones in now, it screws up a bit, thinks headphones are still plugged in, this lasts for a few days then returns to normal!
Of course while it thinks headphones are still plugged in it sends all audio to the headphone socket, so calls etc have no sound. (I've installed SoundAbout which is pretty good, I can enable and disable sound to the headphone socket with a widget button.)
I'd rather avoid doing this and simply switch to USB-C headphones.
I bought a USB-C headphone adapter, but the phone doesn't recognise it.
Any ideas how I can get the phone to send audio to a USB-C headphone adapter? SoundAbout has an option that says it send audio to the USB, but it doesn't!

Looking for Schematics for the Audio circuit - problems with the headphones

Im looking for some Schematics for the Audio circuit of the Nexus 6P.
I bought a used Nexus 6P with some Problems. The only one im not able to fix is that the phone thinks that headphones are plugged in. First I thought that the headphone jack had some dirt in it... but even after i removed the headphone jack the problem still occurred.
Next I took a look at the Connector itself. When I plug in some headphones, Pin 1 and 5 get connected. Pin 5 is Ground. So on Pin 1 should be some kind of voltage present right?
But there where non on Pin 1.
Next I looked up where the Audio IC is located. The ifixit Teardown shows where the Qualcomm WCD9330 Audio Codec is located.
After I removed the Cover i found some corrosion near the IC. I gave the hole Board a ultrasonic bath and reflowed the IC and the Components around it but the Phone still thinks that headphones are plugged in.
I donĀ“t want the headphone jack to work again. I just need the Phone to think that there are no headphones plugged in. I tried several Software Solutions but non worked to my satisfactory.
Does anyone have an idea or some Schematics for me?
