light notices LED does not work with - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

light notices LED does not work with whatsapp and BBM and twitter or any other application
only work with missed calls and text messages
Device LG G2 LG D802

Go to the play store and download light manager. It allows you to set a different color notification light for each of those apps. Good luck

also did not work :crying:

My LED works with Whatsapp, however, it is a very, very slow white blink. 99% of the time I miss the LED notification because of the long interval between blinks.

I am not sure if my blue light works either. At least it doesn't appear to for textra. The blue or possible cyan does seem to work for calendar however

Where can I find a solution for this problem

So the light manager app did not work? And you are on a rooted device?
You don't have any other app with xposed that blocks led light?

Are you sure you waited long enough? I first thought my LED notifications weren't working with whatsapp either, but it turns out there are long intervals between each LED blink. Also your screen needs to be off. Try changing the LED notification colours within whatsapp, that might get it working.

My LEDs wont work either...such a simple thing...or it should be
Ive been using go sms for years on numerous devices and its easy to get the LED to work except on this device.

No issues with led for me. I would try a factory reset. Keep in mind all data will be lost.

Found this on another thread.
Guys I've fixed this.
You need to go to backup and turn Google backup off for your account. Then factory set the phone sign back up in your account and it will work. Its something that Google backup downloads that stops the led working with 3rd party apps.

[Q] recommend a led notification app

can anyone recommend a good one for the nexus
I am using light flow light at the moment but seem to be getting lots of what i can only call 'miss reads' as the led flashes green for no reason. I mean that there is no email received or anything else to cause it to light up as far as i can see.
so.....are there any others you can recommend i try....i want it mainly for missed calls and email (k9)

I'm using light flow and haven't had any issues so far. Have you checked through all the notifications? There are lots of things the led can come on for eg signal loss, charging battery etc
I'm using LightFlow and it works pretty well, but it seems like the latest version is really bad about dismissing the light notification even after the app has been entered. Specifically with the Messages app. Does it on my Galaxy Nexus, too.
+1 LightFlow, haven't noticed the issue you've experienced...though only had a few days. I'll keep an eye out.

Seems its linked to the k9 notification as when I dissabled this the the led stopped flashing. When enabled it was back to flashing all the time and not just as if it was a new email received.

Have you followed the "hint" for k9 to change a setting in k9 to stop this happening.
Thinking about it, since I wrote the k9 notification I may be able to filter this issue out in future versions without changing that setting.
Also the lightflow debugger widget it handy for tracking down issues like this as it'll list which notifications the app thinks are on.

[Q] some noob questions

Hello,
i'm new to Android and the Nexus 4 is my first Android device. I'm really happy with it but i've got some questions which i'm sure are pretty easy to answer for most people here:
- I turned off the vibration (touch feedback) in the settings, but in some apps it's still there, for example when i type in a URL in chrome. how do i disable it?
- I came from an iPhone and i'm used to having an app for notes. Is there any good, simple app for android, where you can just write down some notes, similar to the iphone app?
- I've heard of a great app to use in case you lose your phone or someone steals it, so you can track it down from your pc, take photos etc, but i forgot its name. Does anyone know?
- Is it normal that the Nexus 4 camera sometimes keeps trying to focus on something? it happened to me sometimes that it focused, the image got sharp, then suddenly it loses the focus again, focuses again, loses it again, and so on, even though i was not moving the phone (holding it in my hand though).
Thanks for your help!

Ok, I Don't Have A N4, But I Can Help. For The Type Vibration, You Might Have To Go Into The Keyboard Settings And Look For It There. I Think It's Set Apart From The Other Feedback Option.
I Use ColorNote & EverNote. ColorNote, As The Name Implies, Has All These Color Options You Can Use, And Separate Your Notes By Color. (Red for thoughts, green for to-do stuff, and so on) I Like EverNote Because It Automatically Saves Your Notes Online.
I Think You're Referring To The Lookout Mobile Security App. I Have It On Both Of My Phones.
Once Again, Not A Nexus Owner, So I Can't Help With Your Camera Issue. Sorry. :/
All The Apps Suggested Are Free. (Lookout has Premium features that you have to pay for, I think by the month)
I Hope I've Helped.

I have come from an iPhone too, although this is not my first Android. For the keyboard vibration, you have to turn it off on the keyboard's settings, as the guy above me said.
For the notes, I use this. It's a simple but great and useful application.

Thanks guys.
Another thing i don't fully understand:
On the top left of the screen (on the bar), i see Skype, which makes sense, since Skype is open in the background, so i won't miss a call or message or whatever. But then why is there no symbol for What's app or facebook? Don't they work the same? Basically, there also needs to be some kind of background process open for these, right? But why are they not shown on the top left of the bar?

That's the choice of the application's developer not to have the icon in the status bar. I find it better not to have any icon in the status bar as they take up space and look ugly.

While we're at it, another question
How do you actually CLOSE an app? So it's not in the RAM anymore. I'd imagine that all those apps still running in the background use a lot of battery, right?
Just use the third soft button at the button of the screen then close the apps from there. As for background processes, you need not to worry about then. Android is good at handling background processes so they don't take a lot of battery.

Isn't this just a list of "recently opened" apps? Because if you swipe them off there, these apps are still shown as "Active" in the settings menu.
Nope, you close them from there. Although some may have a background process like Facebook so you can still receive notifications with the app closed. It takes up minimal battery.

And you mean this screen, right?
Because if so, they're just background processes.

Ok, i get it now. But is there a way to close all the apps in one go? Instead of swiping every app off by itself?

There is if you go custom, but not in stock. This is why I always close the apps after using them so I'm only swiping 1-2 at a time...

A question again about that cerberus app:
I've downloaded it and made it so it doesn't appear in the installed apps. But how do i make it visible again? How do i even open it now?

For this scenario Cerberus has a feature where you dial a unique code to access the hidden program but you've probably not noted it. If you haven't changed it, dial
23723787
Or to remove you could also go to Settings / Security / Device Administrator and uncheck it then Settings / Apps and uninstall the app.

CM10.1 & Notifications

First off I'd like to say I believe this is an extremely isolated issue, but I would appreciate any and all help.
I can't seem to get notifications working for snapchat. I've looked around before since I had the issue in CM10 with my note, but I've found nothing on the subject. I realize not many people here probably use snapshot, but the way it works is that when a snap is received, the screen turns on and a notification pops up in the notification bar. Since I flashed CM10.1 today I receive the snaps but my screen does not turn on and no notification appears.

I've noticed this has gotten quite a few views and I just want to post the solution. For whatever reason, if you use titanium backup to restore the app it will not be able to display notifications.
To fix it just reinstall the all through the play store.

You can activate notifications by sound and by flashing led. No need to unlock to see or hear. But to address your question, I don't know of any screen flashing app.

Oops, my bad. I'm so used to my Bionic I forget the N7 only has sound notifications. In the Gmail account settings you can set a sound notification for each message received, so you might be more likely to hear it.
Look in the apps section of xda, there are 2 apps, something like buttonled or noled. I'll post a link if I come across it again.

No SMS notification sound

Hi everyone I asked this in the TMO help section but havent gotten anything useful so hopefully someone here can help..
My sms notification sound isnt playing for some reason, I've done a hard reset and restarted the phone...The notification sounds work for everything else just not SMS. I am using the default sms app and have gone into the SMS menu to make sure notification sound was checked.
Any one have any ideas? I really not want to factory reset if possible.
Did you double check that there was a notification sound picked and not silent.
The same with my S IV... no SMS notification sound at all...

I have the same problem on mine, but it's only when I change the sound profile automatically using either an NFC tag & NFC Task Launcher, or when I use a profile scheduler.
When I change it manually it's not a problem.

SMS sound
Hi, newbie here,
I have tried a number of profile changers with the GS4 ,currently Automatit.
All produce the same result, reboot phone, sms sounds work ok, once the profile has been changed, no sms sound unless you reboot.
Not come across this before with any android phone (Last phone HTC one X)
I guess it is a bug, hopefully there will be a fix before long?
Regards Shanks
I'm also having this problem, but what I notice is, if you disable the vibrate when ringing (no tick) under ringtones, the SMS sound notification works.
If you enable vibrate when ringing (with tick), there is no sound only vibration for SMS.
Can you guys try it whether this is the same as mine?
found this on another forum.
It definitely works for me UK Samsung Galaxy S4 on Orange
If you have a profiling app like timeriffic or llama etc it stops the sounds on your sms (even when its not meant to). I uninstalled timeriffic and it works perfectly now
Yes, working again

Definitely a bug,I have tried a number of profile changers on the GS4 and my HTC one X and the bug is only there in the S4.
Probably a conflict with Samsung Touch Wiz?
Hopefully there will be a fix soon as this is a basic problem.
Uninstall any profile manager restore back the tone
Not until I unwilling to remove my favorite app Phone Weaver, the sms tone come back again.
Samsung bug here
I have a S4 and I have the same issue on the SMS notification sound, when using profile apps like llama
So 2 solutions :
- install GO SMS like apps
- or change the profile using the power button... (not sure that a reboot need to be performed).
I hope that Samsung will fix that soon...
It's fixed
