Hmm.. not sure if it will be different on this phone, but:
1) Greenify

3) gReader Pro (using it with feedly)
4) SwiftKey Tablet (minor advantage over phone verion)

What are some good apps/widgets to download?

Seeking suggestions on some good widgets/apps. My interests are social networking, music, ..the norm.
Also, what do you guys think about the "Twitter for HTC Sense" widget vs. the "Touiteur"?
For music services try pandora or slacker. For players, poweramp, mixzing, or meridian. For song id shazam.
Some people like Foursquare.

Double twist is a good music player and tweetdeck is good for social networking

PowerAMP is the best for music players. Hands down. I bought the full version today - the trial is full-featured but expires after a while.
I use Peep (the HTC twitter widget) but I don't do any tweeting I just follow stuff and check up on it a few times a day. Definitely get Handcent; it's a great SMS replacement app that is really customizable. My favorite is getting it to split messages after 160 characters by word, so there's no word being cut off, and you dont get an annoying message from Verizon about how you can't send over 160 characters to carriers other than Verizon like you do with the stock app.
For web browsing, I'd pick up Dolphin HD. I like it better htan the stock one because I can exit out of it and end the process - for a while I was having problems with the stock browser getting my phone hot and using CPU while I wasn't using it.
Definitely get Appbrain. Then:
On Appbrain, you can install an app called Car Home released by Google. It replaces the (awful) stock "Car Panel." Add it to your phone from the web site and then install it from the application and open the Car Panel app and choose Car Home. It's much more customizable and it doesn't use GPS all the time whenever it's open.
Obviously, get Angry Birds.
Good Morning is an alarm app that I like. It starts playing music and then tells you the time, day, weather, and if you purchase it, your calendar appointments for the day. Get the free version and then upgrade if you want multiple alarms and the calendar appointments.
Hope this helps enjoy your phone.

adw.launcher and adwnotify - I like adw better and adwnotify gives me the unread count wherever the icon is.
handcent sms for texts - top notch app
angry birds for waiting in lines
Astro file manager
dropbox (easiest way ever to get things to your phone)
autostarts - this lets me control what starts on startup, so i can do things like make the random games that i play once a week not start up every time i boot the phone.
barcode scanner
dolphin browser - yay tabs!
Touchdown/exchange for my work email (yes, i know they can remote wipe it if they want....since i wipe the whole thing myself every couple of weeks to play with a new rom, that hardly matters.)
appbrain
lookout mobile security or threat aware (trying this one out)
mahjong
pandora
robo defense
springpad (awesome note taking app that syncs to the web)
trap! (annoying awesome game)
U.S. Army Survival Guide (in case of zombie apocalypse)
XDA
Y5 Battery Saver (turns off wifi unless you are in range of a remembered wifi hot spot)
Two that I wish worked better are:
Widget Locker (as stated above - can be laggy and flakey - replaces the lock screen but lets you put whatever you want on it.)
ICE - In Case of Emergency (also replaces lock screen, but force closes on 2.2 a LOT)
Some apps I haven't seen mentioned, For humor, try
Fml, epic fails, demotivational posters, daily comic strip
For shopping, amazon, best buy.
For in the car, I just ordered a blueant s4, which has app that goes it that will read texts to you, allow for navigation to be read via Bluetooth, and announce callers and give option to answer or not. Haven't got it yet, don't know how well it works.
Is car home gone guys?

I'm guessing all of these require you to "root" the phone or modify it in some way? I modify desktop computers all the time but not really familiar with mobile phones...lots of reading for me to do, hopefully I get myself up to par!
BTW I have no data, just WIFI!

adfree

Elixir, System Panel, and Androzip all have good task managers and do more than just manage apps
DropBox
FolderOrganizer
SwipePad and/or PowerStrip
GPS Test
Tricorder
Virtual Trackball (but use the dpad)
VLC S&C
gStrings
iMap Weather (spot on, and never runs in the background)
Traffic Widget
Inserty and/or Clipper
*Quick Addroid (get the Pro version) I open this most often, works for anything you have to remember, great for tracking medications, smokes, diet, times your Ex.... whatever, in case you want to keep track....
Business Calendar or Touch Calendar (I hear Gemini is good if you like it, too)
Extensive Notes or NoteEverything
Smart Keyboard or Ultra Keyboard (Smart runs a bit cleaner, but it's not quite as cute/customizeable) - they both allow voice input right from the keyboard, swipe entry, and a recognizable layout
Ringdroid
Car Home from Market, but it needs a clock
Simple Audio Manager - it's so tiny and useful I almost forgot it
Right now I like Seesmic, but you'll likely troll around for the right Social app(s) for you.
I am also heavily dependent on Google Voice and am very happy with Handcent for SMS (so I know who I'm texting by what color their bubble is. Trust me, it's worth it.)
And yes, as a matter of fact, I do spend way too much time checking out apps, and all of these developers have been great with me, and I'm a pest.
Once you get a handle on things, if you want to automate volume/connectivity, I strongly recommend Tasker. I tried Locale, and a bunch of other schedulers, auto-text reply apps, call filters, power managers, but Tasker replaced all of them, and just the way I like it.
EDIT: Blast those background apps. I recommend SMSBackup+, too. Backs up your call log to your calendar.
pulse reader - this one is the best!

https://market.android.com/details?...=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zYW5kLmFpcmRyb2lkIl0.
This is not a lite app (2.7MB) but it's just too good to ignore, I totally can't live without it now.
Autostarts
Though it is not free, but sure it is lite.
It removes autostarting of many application that you are hardly using. it also prevents to start application with any triger. It just keeps your ROM free, as well save battery too.
DGT & GTD & To-do List
The best To-do App I have found. Its Beta but its great. I've used Astrid, Any.Do & many others To-do Apps but I found GTD to be the best!
Unlock With Wifi FREE
A very useful program. If you have a phone lock, It keeps your phone secure but disables the lock if connected to a friendly Wifi router. Saves the headache for entering your password everytime ! There is also a paid app with more options (which I have bought).
Nice apps, except for this one:

I don't feel comfortable shutting down ads on free apps. I mean, putting up with a little ad at the top/bottom of the screen is the least I can do if it means supporting a developer's efforts, even if I can't/won't buy their paid app.
And doing stuff like that is especially hard on developers from countries that can't sell apps in the market...
Therotically, morally i completely agree with you.
But i can't deny it is annoying too.
And consumes reasonable amount of data too.

totally agree with you on this one, I myself don't use privacy since I graduated from school . I also working in creative industry, I do know the value of intellectual properties and how important to protect them.
for the app that are up for selling and I liked the free version I will purchase the full version but just sometimes. some apps doesn't have paid or ad removed version and I really want the ads go away.
I never care the data as I am on unlimited plan but just hate those ads floating around
Another awesome App is Diskusage.

It shows exactly what app is using how much disk. Very useful if you have limited disk space.

Best Apps you purchased for Note

Dear All,
I am starting this thread just to learn about the most useful apps (free+paid) from Android Play Store we all are using with small reviews (your experiences) of them on Galaxy note.So that people can get a good idea before spending money. Like rite now I am confused which camera app I should buy or download for better and easy capture. It would be nice if you mention the ROM you are using.
Here are mine info :
Stock ROM 4.04 not rooted
Apps That I use -
1) TSF Shell - my default launcher. Version 1.6.1 Beta. I found the best launcher I ever used(I tried SBP shell also, used only 3 hours). I simply love this launcher as it's unique, super fast, very easy to use, inbuilt icon decorator (designer v.3), density changer (bigger or smaller icons), desktop decorators like Pendant(simply great), different weather and music widget, two finger swipe (very useful), folder animation, multi select etc etc.
2)TSF Shell glass theme(paid) and TSF shell Box theme HD(free)-TSF shell glass theme is one of the most beautiful theme I have seen with the shell.
3)Widget Locker (paid) - well known, best lock screen application lot of free themes.
4)Player Pro(paid) - gives good audio quality and better look and feel.
5) Missed It (paid) - I use it for WL, useful, good looking too
6)Touchpal Keyboard(free) - better keyboard than stock swipe keyboard
7)FancyWidget(free lite version) - lite version is enough for me.
8)UCCW - the best clock,battery,weather widget maker
9)Camera 360 ultimate - although stock camera is good but I found this is better.
10)Nice Simple Clock and Nice Simple Battery (free) - simple and configurable.
11)JuiceDefender(free and paid) - just using for two days, hopefully this will be useful.
Well I do have other apps as well but the above apps are really useful and good looking on Note.
Titanium backup
Mobile Odin Pro
Without these i can't play around ROM frequently.
I have Apex Launcher Pro, Pocket Casts, Push-Up Pro, Sketchbook Mobile, SoundHound Infinity, SyPressure Pro, Tapatalk, TuneIn Radio Pro, and my favourite, Tasker As for free apps, I have Quick ICS Browser, QuickMark and X-Plore. My phone's not rooted but I would also recommend Titanium Backup.
I'm a cheapskate - only paid apps are Titanium Backup and Tapatalk forum app.
My phone is mainly used as a work tool - as you might guess, I work in IT...
Holo launcher
Clock and event widget - great time/calendar view
RSSDemon - fantastic news reader
Waze - Crowdsourced satnav and traffic
Dolphin browser
Droidedit free - text editor

2X client - RDP client for support
Mocha VNClite - VNC client for support
ES file explorer
Fing - network tool
Sharesfinder - network tool
OpenVPN

Wifi analyzer
Addons detector - ad push detector
Lookout - virus scanning
CPU spy - CPU monitor
Foldersync - cloud backup (for my photos)
Memento database - DB designer
Offi - local/national transport timetables and planner (very good)
Screen on - keep screen on in selected apps
SuperSu - Super user manager
Timerific - make things happen on phone at set times (like mute/unmute ringer overnight)
Vault - store confidential stuff in encrypted form
Solid explorer
SoundHound
jetAudio
eBay app
500px
Smart tools

dr. ketan, I think desh_iit device is not rooted, as he mentioned on his thread.
desh_iit, if you want to feel more on the android application, first, you have to root your device first.
Most of the good application, especially "tools" application, need a rooted device.
The 2 applications mentioned by dr.ketan, need a rooted device also.
I have bought lots of apps. I know many of these are available free pirated but I do think the developers deserve our money if they spend so much time & energy on apps we enjoy....
My bought Apps :-
Final Fantasy 3
PicFolio for Picasa HD - (Best Picasa app)
Perfectly Clear for Android
Silhouette Live Wallpaper
IP Cam Viewer Pro - (Best app for viewing your webcams)
MX Player Pro (No movie viewer app better than this one. Has option to play full screen movies too)
PicFrame
2Do: To do List (Bought it but never used it as it didn't do what I wanted)
Handy Scanner Pro (Best scanning app)
Dead Space
Camera Zoom FX
Unlock with Wifi - (Very useful app)
Quell - (Beautiful mind-twister game. Great music score too)
TouchRetouch
Grand Theft Auto 3 (Bought it because of nostalgia)
ezPDF Reader (Got it for 10cents but I prefer using the Amazon PDF reader)
Paper Camera
Beautiful Widgets (Dont use it)
Great Little War Game (thought it was multiplayer but wasn't)
JuiceDefender Ultimate (useless app.)
LogMeIn Ignition - (use it a lot to connect to all my PC's)
Endomondo Sports Tracker Pro (need to use it)
Carcassone (waste of my money)
Tapatalk Forum App (use it a lot)
Aquarium Live Wallpaper
UniWar HD (great game, haven't got around learning it)
PicSay Pro (best photo editing app ever!!)
SwiftKey 3 (Cant type without it)
Some other Free apps (other than Google apps) I use a lot :-
Flipboard
QuickPic
Evernote (one of the most useful app ever)
Appy Geek
CNET TV
ES File Explorer
World Newspapers
Office Calculator (Free)
DropBox

I found the thread useful because it showed me apps that other people using my same device found useful. Play store can't sort by that. If there's policy violation in specific posts, report those, not the entire thread.
I have created two major thread and both are stickies.with highest viewership and both thread i have mentioned there titanium backup and mobile odin pro, now it won't b surprised if someone demand to.close those thread too.

Thank you for the suggestion. I was rooted before but since I got 4.04 I reflashed the stock ROM.
Just to avoid brick bug and I used titanium back up in xperia and Acer iconia as well. Rite now I am just enjoying the Samsung Stock Rom with TSF.
Is there any widget that shows androids data usage (only from setting, not app's own counter )?

[Q]Some Must Have Applications for Note 3. Your Experience

Hi there
I was looking for some cool applications for Note 3 which you all are using. NO stock apps please.
Mainly I am looking to keep notes, looking at offline maps of cities (detailed), any way I could write with S pen and it is automatically converted into typed words. Other handy business applications that could be of help!
Thanks alot in advance!
Mobile Notes is a note taker that will transform your scribblings into digital text, LectureNotes is an excellent note taker for handwriting with S-Pen. There is also an calculator app that takes handwriting input.
Sent from my SC-01F using Tapatalk
MapsWithMe Pro. Brilliant offline map app, ridiculously detailed, it even lists benches and powerlines. Based on Openstreetmaps.Org as opposed to google maps.
Another app I've found to be incredibly useful is Sidebar Pro. It gives you a sidebar you can swipe onto the screen with a list of apps and toggles you can manually add (every app, not just a specific few) and also lists active apps you can open or swipe away to close.
There are free versions of both.

adblockplus (wifi only without root with the wifi proxy thing ) or ffox with adblock extension (no root).
likewise, norootfirewall. (it's a bit meh compared to android firewall...)
disablemanager to disable some of the bloatware (although samsung marks some bloat as essential so you need root)
appops shortcut - to revoke the permissions for some of the things I install. pity you can't revoke the internet one
FileManager - decent free file manager without annoying fremium
JetAudio - FLAC, folders, DSP, etc (although the shake to switch song feature breaks up audio when walking - must be the sensor monitoring or interrupt algo :/ )
ezPdfreader \ repligo - instead of adobe reader for PDFs to easier scroll/page zoom. (although reflow is not perfect on either. by far)
MultiLing keyboard - because although beta-ish, it's pretty amazing for one handed typing and YMMV may have better swype.
a mix of super backup and i'm not sure what, because without root there's not TBU
Any alt apps for watchon for the IR remote?
Try smart remote...its a paid app, but it works for everythind I have ...climate control, hifi, tv, cable..ect....basically I hve not touched any of my IR remote after installing this.
