This is based on CyanogenMod 10.2 messaging app, tested with CM and stock.
Works for:
Cyanogenmod 10.2, 11 (and probably 10.1)
Any stock or cm based 4.3 ROM
Any stock 4.4 based ROM
It's built for mako but should run fine on any device running one of the above ROMs.
I've been working on converting the CyanogenMod messaging app to use a SlidingPaneLayout like the Hangouts app from google. I personally prefer to use the stock messaging app as I never talk to people on google+. Since google decided to abandon the stock app, I decided I'd take a shot giving it a little refresh.
It's currently a work in progress so you may encounter bugs. If you do, you should post them so I can fix them! I have most of the kinks worked out already though so it should work as a default messaging app for now.
What doesn't work:
- CyanogenMod blacklist functionality removed temporarily for stock support
If you can't send messages, try to change default a few times (4.4 only)
How to install:
Download from play store here.
or
Download attachment and save to wherever you want.
Either copy to device and install normally, or do
Code:
adb install SlidingMms.apk
Note: if you are on 4.4, you need to go to Messaging Settings and set it as the default SMS app. Alternatively, go to 'System Settings > Wireless & Networks > More... > Default SMS app' and change it to the stock messaging app. THIS IS NECESSARY if you want to be able to send messages from the stock messaging app. It is the new way messaging apps are handled with Android 4.4
Please provide feedback so I can make this better.

[5/4/2008] ichis - "Yet Another iPhone Hybrid Theme" for rlToday

Hello All,
I updated a few lines in my MortScripts, redownload the ichis.zip file and the new files are in the ichis directory, just overwrite the existing files in "\Program Files\rlToday\ichis\"
I wanted to release my rlToday theme. ALL icons are active and info is displayed. Let me know what you think.

To update weather:
a.) Either tap the one of the smaller icons (tomorrow/after tomorrow's forecast) if you are connected to the internet.
b.) Or, tap the big icon (current condition) to update via Google's SMS. once the message is recieved:
- Open the message
- Tap and hold and Select all
- Tap and hold and Copy
Then it will update the Today screen.
The reason I have an SMS option: I don't have a data plan other than when I'm at a WiFi spot. So, its really for me
If any of you get an error message, please post it here and let me know so I can add that icon/weather condition [Un]Fortunately, I live in New Mexico and its always Sunny and Clear, hehe.
AND I'd love feedback. If you use it, modify it, post your screen here!! I'd love to see what you guys come up with too!
Installation:
Inside the attached chis.zip file, you'll find everything you need:
1. Install MortScript 4.1
2. Install rlToday
3. Copy Sys-To-Reg-2.0 directory to \Program Files\
4. Copy cutouts.ttf to \Windows\Fonts\
5. Copy ichis directory to \Program Files\rlToday\
6. Run Sys-to-Reg-Install.mscr and allow it to run at Startup
7. Make ichis the skin in rlToday
8. (OPTIONAL) If you use S2U2 v1.00 or above, set the weather option to UserWeather in S2U2 Settings and copy the contents of the S2U2weather directory to \Program Files\S2U2\gfx\weather\
9. (OPTIONAL) Set the bg-black.bmp as your background with 0% transperancy via the WM Pictures & Videos application
10. (OPTIONAL) If you would like your own background behind the icons, I've included a bg.png file that has the transparency layer preserved and you may place another image behind it of your choice using your favorite image editor (ie. Photoshop) -OR- just make your favorite image your background.
11. SoftReset and Enjoy!
* Note: you may need to edit some of the applications that the skin.xml file launches. you can do so by editing the skin.xml file.
Recommended applications:
S2U2 by A_C
S2P by A_C
Google Maps by Google
Task Manager by DotFred.net
** I have my mail icon launching Gmail, if you don't have this account on your phone, you'll need to edit the gmail.lnk file to launch the appropriate account.
Special thanks to Mirko Schenk for MortScript, Allgemein and emerym at the rlToday forums and for Sys-to-Reg. Although Sys-to-Reg is currently version 3.0, I'm using 2.0 because it does what I need it to

Hehe, yea, The whole reason I use Sys-to-Reg is so that when there are no messages/missed calls it doesn't display a nasy "0" and its blank.
And the reason for the update via SMS option is because I dont have a data plan
Update
I updated the instructions a bit. This is my first release, so I'm thinking of things to add to the post as I go

Hey ya! Have you ever known Android has its own backup and restore utility built-in? You can access it via ADB. Yeah, that boring command-line utility you always use in order to hack your device (that or fastboot). Well, I've made the bridge between the Android B&R system and you, Windows clicker user!
So, what's the thing? It's a simple tool that... well... allows you to do backups and use them to restore your device!
What do you need? Just a few things!
Enable the debug mode on Android (Settings -> [System] Developer options -> USB Debugging)
Note: On Android 4.2 and newer, Developer options is hidden by default. To make it available, go to Settings > About phone and tap Build number seven times. Return to the previous screen to find Developer options.
Install the ADB driver for your device, so that it appears as "Android Composite ADB Interface" under Control Panel's Device Manager
.Net 4.5 Framework installed
Download
Installer: My site | XDA Downloads
Sources: not yet public (maybe hosted on GitHub later).
Changelog
1.2.0.9:
- [AndroidLib] Now the application uses adb.exe directly from the application's folder, instead of copying the resource to a temp directory (this avoids permission denied exceptions on some computers causing startup crashes)
1.1.0.6:
- [AndroidLib] Fixed application not launching (or better: silently closing) if adb.exe was not in the PATH.
- Introduced self-updating feature with setup file
1.1:
- Now the list of packages to backup is generated automatically downloading the packages list and using AndroidQuery's service. It is sorted alphabetically. NOTE: it will take a little to load the first time, then it caches the results in a local file (packages.json).
- The new default backup filename is DeviceName-YYYY-MM-DD-HHmm.ab
1.0: initial release
Known bugs
the "System" option is disabled for now, as it causes the adb backup system to exit without doing the backup (on both rooted and non-rooted devices, tested on Nexus 4, Nexus 7 with Android 5.0). If you want to help, try executing adb backup -f MyBackup.ab -system -apk and tell me if you find a way to let it execute correctly.

Thank you very much

[Windows ONLY][Tool][Utility][1.2][June 2] Yeti FSExplorer

To XDA's mods and admins:
I didn't post this thread using DevDB because I had to select a device... from an empty list.
Do you like to waste your time using ADB in text mode? Me neither.
I want to present Yeti FSExplorer - Windows app that will improve your Android device's file managing experience.I wrote it in C# and it needs .NET Framework 4.5 in order to work.
It looks like this (screenshots inside):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

}

My main goal was to create a PC-like file managing experience and here's what FSExplorer can do:
create new files and folders
delete existing files and folders
batch copy and move files (supported by the file queue)
download and upload files (drag&drop supported)
quick download and open a file from your device (only double-click needed)
check and set permissions (3-digits, e.g. 644)
remember where have you been (this means you can go back, up and further like in Windows Explorer; up to 15 last places)
connect to your ADB WiFi-enabled device
list your device's partitions
work in root mode (SU) (working for every command except download/upload)

What do you need?
In order to get Yeti FSExplorer working you need to sell your property and buy a license have ADB installed. This means it has to be accessible for this program. You can either put it somewhere and make proper changes in system's PATH or simply download this and extract to a folder containing FSExplorer.
You'll also need .NET Framework 4.5 or above, so Windows XP is not supported. Sorry for that.

Changelog & downloads
Even though it is considered stable version, there can be bugs as in every software. I'm not responsible for any data loss, damage or problems this program caused.

Download link: MEGA, DropBox
Changelog:
1.2:
- fixed and improved IP addresses recognition (thanks, gidano!)

- changed About&Credits window style
-------------------------
1.1:
- add "Partitions Info" feature
- fixed handling of "device not found"
- a bit improved error handling
- fixed program's icon

Got any problems? Any feedback?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I'm almost sure that there are language mistakes (also the silly ones) I should fix.
If you run into any problems, see any bugs, I'd like to see a message from you, describing the issue, your device and steps to reproduce.

Hi,
I'm in trouble, the app does not work for me...

What else can I do?
Update: I'm sorry dude! I would like to use the program, but very weak the support! You do not visit in this direction...

Sorry for replying that late - there were things independent of me and I wasn't able to analyze the source code for (probably) my mistakes so I could explain it here.
Thank you for reporting this.
When trying to connect to your device using ADB WiFi, do NOT write ":5555", the only thing you need is the IP address as 5555 is the only most used ADB WiFi port. If you try to connect to, for example, 12.34.56.78:5555, nothing is done. Then:
1. If connection is established, FSExplorer will refresh itself, trying to list directory "/".
2. If it isn't, you'll get an error message.
Once again, sorry for delay and not clarifying this thing in this program.
Edit:
I'm working on IP address recognition fix now. There's also one more bug (listing in root mode). These two fixes will be included in version 1.2 of FSExplorer.
Edit2:
Version 1.2 is up. I'd like to know if this version works better with your device.
Sorry...
Today I received a notice by e-mail on this topic!
Now it works! Thank you for your work!
Nice to know!
Feature requests and more bug reports are welcome as much as opinions about this app.

About
A Simple GUI based Desktop application to the group and remove applications in an Android device by a single click. Works without root privileges and capable of deleting System apps and bloatware for the current user without Root Privileges.
Very often, android devices have lots of pre-installed applications that tend to affect user privacy and display annoying ads. Many of them cannot be disabled and a few may continue disturbing even if it is disabled.
AP's Android System Apps Uninstaller could be used to uninstall the apps in the device according to user requirements and remove the app permanently for the existing user.
It offers an additional feature to Re-Install the app since it is removed for the current user only.
NOTE : Since the app doesn't require root privileges, uninstall for the current user is only possible. Hence, it can free the space occupied by App data only, don't expect a huge increase in free internal space within your device.

Quick Description
* App is totally written in Python, and GUI is made using Tkinter[Sorry for the Vintage style UI !].
* A big shoutout to Doug Lynch and shimp208 for their guides. This is just a GUI based interactive software-based totally on their research and findings.
* This application, with the help of ADB accesses the list of packages installed in a device and displays it in a list. The unwanted items could be added to the second list and they could be uninstalled all together in a single click.
*Pure Adb commands works under the hood and minimal Adb drivers are packed along with the application
*Once Un-Installed the app gets removed for the current user only[User 0 ] and not Root-level removal never happens for system Apps
*Hence, That's the reason why Re-Installation of system packages is possible.
*App Identification is done by using their package names. In case you cannot find out the application name merely by searching within the app, install THIS app from Playstore and find appropriate package name.
