hybrid properties do not get saved - PAC Q&A

When I try to change the hybrid properties they get reset every time and the values are not applied
What could possibly be the problem and how to change the properties
Also how to disable the home button unlock and widget paper complete disable?
These features were present in the cm10.2 and can't find them anywhere in this rom
Thank you

You've got a few questions needing answered here, if you could provide more information, you'll get more direct responses.
As far as hybrid settings go, which ones are you attempting to change? Also, make sure when you go to settings/developer options, root is set to "apps & adb."

Wasnt aware of the apps and adb and now working perfectly
and for the other questions
I was able to disable the home button screen unlock and make only the power button to unlock my screen in the cm10.2
And am not able to find it in this rom
Also i am not able to completely disable the widget paper in the lock screen as it asks for adding new widgets in the lockscreen eventhough i have disabled the camera widget and all other widgets
Something i was able to do with the cm10.2
Other than that the rom is perfect:good:
Once again thank you for your very useful reply

If I understand your needs, you are wanting to have a solution for returning to your home screen without the need of pushing the home button. Similar to the "accessibility" screen button on iPhone. There is nothing built into the current software for Note 3 (native, as you suggested) but there's no need to root and an app which will accomplish this function. Visit:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.matthewma.swipehomebuttonfree&hl=en
This I'm hoping will resolve things for you.
Hope this helps!

That, I'm unsure of. I've been playing with my settings today and trying to find custom ROMS and I too want to find a solution which will ease the wear & tear on my home button. Unfortunately, I do not think anything is available at this time. There's another app (Home Button Launcher) which I find a bit better and think I will use in the interim but it's a waiting game at this point:

There is accesiblity / assistant button for note 3 similiar to iphone

Apex Launcher has the option to set any gesture to 'return to default screen'. Swipe-Down, for example.
I'm sure other launchers have a similar setting.
(Apex uses 69MB whereas Touchwiz uses 480MB... Just saying.)

think Nova Launcher has it too.. but was hoping to set a gesture to return to home screen from any app.
what you described seems like if you are on a second homescreen or something, doing the gesture will return you to the default screen
Swipepad has been my preferred navigation on all three of my Notes. I am also a huge fan of Apex launcher & only ever use those two in combination on note 3 for all my requirements.
One of those requirements is to never have to touch the home button.
My Swipepad has "Apex Launcher" as it's centre Pad so on any screen or app I can go straight to home screen one handed with one swipe.
Both these apps are free & are not memory hungry. Android is all about add on Apps & these two simple apps make the phone very one handed friendly.

* Obviously you can set one of the a swipe pads to "touch wiz home" if preferred by going through the "Activities" option when setting up that Pads action... If you've used swipepad I'm sure you knew that.

I don't have it enabled, let me check.
Yes, it would indeed seem so. Only works on another Homescreen.
What I've done instead is add a Home toggle to Sidebar Pro. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mohammad.adib.sidebar) It allows you to add a toggle or app to a swipeable sidebar. You just swipe from any side (you can set the size and position), and it pops up a sidebar over anything, even games. I've attached a screenshot.
It's not exactly the same as a gesture, but it's a good alternative.

Looking in this link: https://github.com/omnirom/android_frameworks_base/commit/13d9f74a72136786a8ddcf3fd02bf07ab2a02073 we can see how ominirom system call ominiswitch overlay. Thinking that I did a app that call the overlay and you can use in a custom gesture of your launcher.

Just download app in my last post and overlay recent app's button function, if you can do this in your rom(button will call the app).
If not, call app as launcher's gesture or other way that you kwon to call a app.
When you call the app, the omniswicth overlay will open(like swipe blue overlay on right border).
If you can't config this, please pm me.
Please, check if packge of ominiswitch that you use is org.omnirom.ominiswitch. If not, send me via pm the packge name and I compile other app for your packge.
Cheers.

hamburger menu access big screen

Hi everyone
Strange question but...
On such a larger screen than I'm use to.
Is there a better way to reach one handed the slide out hamburger menu in most apps?
Usually I use my thumb but it's such a stretch to get to the top corner, some apps do slide out from the side but seem inconsistent. I'm finding it very difficult.
I am rooted and was wondering any app or modification I could use to help me.
Thanks you for listening!

Okay, some roms have what you might want. Basically I recommend flashing pimps rr from androidfilehost.com. In settings go to configurations then gestures then pie control and enable it. Then with pie control there will be home, back, recent and 3 dots (...) which will be the hamburger menu in any app. You can customise stuff and this should help you out.
Thanks for your reply. Mainly want it for apps, but didn't want to flash a new rom.
If I hold the nexus 6p at the bottom of the phone, my thumbs are a real stretch to the hamburger menu or slide out.
I will take a look at what you have posted cheers man

I had a look at some apps but most just seem to be to access apps and not the hamburger icon. As far as I know you would need to flash a rom with this pie control gesture or you might not be able to do it at all.
You could give LMT a try, might have an option for what you need.

Don't know if any other roms have this yet, but ABC rom does.
Huawei ported their one handed mode over to AOSP(I believe this was the story).

Thanks for replys. Still trying to get this to work.
Is it possible to set the back button in a app to toggle the hamburger menu? That would be handy because instead of backing out of the app slide from left in stead.
Cheers for patience, I did use the piepointer but found it quite difficult to use sometimes.

"Touch-disable mode" switch disappeared after Oreo update?

Hello!
I'm using the P10 Plus and I'm not able to find the setting for Touch-disable mode anymore. (I'm pretty sure it was there on previous android version)
This "Touch-disable mode" setting seems to be always on, after Oreo update.
It could be cool for everyday use, but it's a BIG problem when I like to put the phone into a plastic case/bike phone holder.
I get the message "do not cover the top of the screen..." and I'm not able to unlock the smartphone from the case.
That's soooooo annoying!!
Does anyone know a workaround for this issue??
Thank you very much!
Am I the only one with this problem?
When you lock your phone you try to cover the top part tgen you'll see on display says disable it pressing power and volume up I think.

Tnx, I know, but when the device is in a motorbike holder ( like my Givi S957B ) it's quite impossible to press power and volume up...
I'm just asking why in oreo firmware the "touch-disable mode" is not available anymore.
For me it's a big issue!

No, same problem comes with the Huawei P20 Pro. Touch-disable mode is enabled, but there is no option to disable it. :crying:
Came on here as had the same problem. I found that if you tap volume up and power button 3 times it disables or enables it. It doesn't work anyway, if you accidentally press the fingerprint scanner in your pocket, it unlocks the phone and you end up changing all your settings and calling a porn line all from your pocket.

The above worked for me about 3 weeks ago on my P20 Pro.
I had an update to the phones os last week, now it's reverted back to not liking the sensor being covered when I have the phone in my running armband.
The "Touch Disable Mode" option has disappeared from the System Table section of Settings Database Editor. Most annoying!
Hey
So I installed the Setting Database Editor app to change the setting and then uninstalled it to see if the change would persist without the app - it did not, so I went and reinstalled the app but also found that the "touch_disable_mode" setting was missing so I added it manaually and its working ...no more annoying message about nonsense.
