[Q] Flashing PA No Service Issue - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've spent a pretty decent amount of time troubleshooting this myself. Probably wiped my phone and put the stock 4.3 on 20 times. If there is already a thread that solves this please point me in the right direction and I apologize for posting about the same issue. Anyway here is my problem.
I tried to put Paranoid Android on my Nexus 4. The specific version is this one here pa_mako-3.99-RC2-20130920. I booted the most updated 4.3 stock version from googles developers website. From what I read the stock 4.3 would have the most up to date radio. After the stock OS was installed I rooted my phone and installed Clock Work Recovery. Once that was done and was working properly I put pa_mako-3.99-RC2-20130920 as well as the most up to date gapps (pa_gapps-full-4.3-20131024-signed) into my phones memory and booted my phone into CWM recovery. I did a factory reset and wipe, installed the two zips and and then wiped the dalvik cache and continued to boot up my phone. When the phone boots everything seems to work properly except... No service.
Did I do anything wrong in my process? I have also tried to imput my carriers APN settings. What information do you need from me? Any ideas? Thanks guys.

Reflash the ROM. Do a system wipe first. Flash a radio if this doesnt work.

That's been done a blue million times. But I will go ahead and try again. I'll let you know the outcome. Do you have a link for a specific radio?
Update: Wiping the system and then reflashing the rom did nothing. Now updating the bootloader and radio from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020336.

Ok I'll redownload the rom. And no the flashing of the radio did nothing either. I even imput my carries apn settings again. I hit save after entering in the settings and the phone didn't even save the settings.

Are you on an old version of CWM? 4.3 brings SELinux and you may be seeing permissions issues that's preventing you from being able to access the baseband (check under settings)

After redownloading the PA rom and flashing it from the stock 4.3 I have a working up to date version of the PA 3.99 R2. Thanks for the help guys.

Touch doesn't work after installing CyanogenMod 10.1

Hey guys, after installing CM 10.1, my L5 touch doesn't work. CM boots and it seems everything was well installed. I had CM10 nightly, so I downgraded firmware, I then installed V20 with root, unloacked bootloader and recovery and installed CM10.1.
What should I do? :/
It happened to me twice.
You're doing the wrong format/flash or you're using corrupted rom
Format system, data & data/media, and cache.
I use a v10d kdz with unlocked bootloader and cwm included

I'm using V20C with root, bootloader and CWM 6.0.2.8. I'll try one more time then..
Sorry for double post but touch still doesn't work...
Bad luck
Interesting, one more user have had this problem. We could not find the solution, I remember it.
I'm sure I did everything the proper way. I used the official LG program to install my operators latest rom, which was V20A. Then I flashed V20C with root and unlocked bootloader and installed CWM 6.0.2.8.
In the recovery I did the 3 wipes and the partition format so I could install CM 10.1.
With V20A, V20C, CM10 and CM10.2 touch works! :/
With CM10.1 touch doesn't work and the operator card (service) also didn't work...
You must ask this Pecan. :good:
Did you flash v20 baseband?
Recovery touch work? Redowload and try again with full formats. Except external-sd

Bootloop is a "Soft Brick" and can be recovered using CWM or any CWM based recovery.
Hard Brick is a state where the Device is totally dead for the end user, It will not show any screen activites or respond to buttons or no led activities.
Your is a Soft Brick and few steps will recover your device if followed carefully:
- Use Aroma File Manager to backup your data to External SDCard. Backup "/data/app" to External SDCard. You can also try replacing "/system/app" and "/system/framework" with your ROM "/system" if you suspect that some app or mod has done changes in the /system.
- Do a Full Wipe of Cache/Dalvik and try to boot.
- If not booting then Do a Full Wipe of Cache/Dalvik and install "PhoeniX ROM" and reboot. Wait for 10-15 minutes.
- Wipe Cache/Dalvik and Flash Perseus Kernel and Reboot.
This should bring back you device.
If nothing works then Flash STOCK 4.3 from Odin 3.09 as instructed in forum.
Good Luck.

Ok, if you had before a stock 4.3 Rom, you will not be able to flash anymore a 4.2.2 stock rom. If that rom you are using doesn't work, try a different sammobile stock rom, I suggest the newest 4.3 Rom for your country or carrier, or any fob from a different country with same 3G frequency bands.
Use always Odin 3.07 or 3.09, never use 1.85 except for cfautoroot.
Please, report back your final solution.

You won't ever be able to flash second rom because it is 4.2 and you have 4.3 bootloader.
As last chance, I assume you are using Odin 3.09 and no a different version, try again to flash 4.3 stock rom twice at same time, I mean, first, uncheck reboot after flash option, first flash, check back reboot option, second flash, and unwire and see what happen.
If this doesn't fix it sorry, but it would sound as any PCB damage (hardware), and you should go to SAT.
Here in this point, I am so sorry, but our sub

Audio issue during the calls

Hi, my friends has this phone no rooted and Lollipop stock firmware ver. 5.0.1 XXUHOH2 installed on phone.
Often it happens that the phone doesn't play the audio during the calls and only when she remakes the call the audio issue disappears.
On phone is installed Acr (Automatic call recordind) app but i tried to uninstall the app and the issue persisted.
I read some discussions about this problem and users report that the reset doesn't solve this problem.
Any suggestion??

I think but I'm not sure that the previous firmware was what you wrote but this issue has been verifying for a long time..
Edit: I'm sorry i was confused about firmware versions..
Because via Ota this update is not available yet.
I'll try to flash the version you suggested.
P.e.: I have tried to flash the xxuhoj2 firmware but I still have the issue. I can't say if it' s less frequent than before flash...
I tried to hit a wipe cache dalvik but it's the same. After many attempts of calls I still have noticed the issue.
Maybe a factory settings reset could fix the issue.... [emoji53]
P.p.e.: neither factory settings reset has solved the issue [emoji20]

All sensors not working, even after restoring to stock image

So I had been using Ressurection Remix on my Pure for a few weeks. After an update I encountered a lot of bugs including the sensors, all of them, (proximity, gyroscope, light, etc.) Do not work. Tested with the sensors test app and there is no data for any of them. I restored to stock 5.1.1 using fastboot, then updated OTA to the current marshmallow official to get away from those bugs, but my sensors still do not work. I'm at a loss, and this is my only phone I have to rely on. Any way to fix this?
Maybe is a kernel problem try using frankernel

So I rooted and flashed frankenclark kernel. It fixed the sensors BUT now my wifi doesn't work. Flip the switch to on and it just goes right back off. This really sucks lol. Any idea how to fix that? I tried a couple different kernels before putting frankenclark on and the wifi didn't work on any of them so I don't know what the issue is.
Solved!
Flashing a different kernel, any kernel, fixes the senors. If your wifi stops working, you just need to flash the modem file with fastboot. The file can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/development/marshmallow-6-0-ota-modem-band-12-t3267680
Thanks to Donkan694 for suggesting the kernel fix.

Might be badly flashed update. Try flashing ozip once again.
What steps did you take to update? Through TWRP? Tell me what you did.
@ OP
Thanks for update.

I flashed it through twrp. And all seems fine. Good update in my opinion, less glitches.
