Go to sammobile.com, search for your firmware, download and extract modem.bin from there. That's the file you need.

for example, firmware for Hungary T-Mobile is here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SM-N9005&pcode=TMH#firmware
download and extract modem.bin from there. Then you can make this file flashable by Odin.

Not as easy as it looked. You have to get your phone to read the bands that T-Mobile is working with. There is a bunch of us, even a bounty out for it! Trying to get the N9005 version to read At&t LTE bands! Sure you can flash the modem but unsure if it'll work. Keep us updated though if you do flash and receive LTE service!

From what I can gather, due to others having same issues, it hasn't been possible (yet) one user notably @PatienceWithin had to sell his 9005 and get an 900A

just polling the community to see if anybody has figured it out yet or has gotten any closer... I'd really rather not resell my phone and buy a 900t but i really want lte... the baseband on these things are pure software, are the same baseband hardware as the tmo and att versions, there's no reason why it can't support the required bands. ugh!

Do not do that, Telcel modem is intended for the N7100, N7105 uses a completely different modem, even if you're able to flash the modem it will not work at all.

As far as I know, LTE has been enabled in Guadalajara metropolitan area, first of all, you need a 6.0 SIM card in order to use Telcel LTE network, a LTE enabled device (N7105).
The LTE network used by Telcel and T-Mobile is AWS-1, so, it should be compatible as long if your T-Mobile N7105 has the new modem that enables this feature.

This modem only allows better reception and data speed with the Telcel 3G network, even if you have a LTE enabled SIM card (6.0) you will not be able to use LTE with the N7100, only 3G HSPA+. However, with a 6.0 SIM card LTE enabled, it improves the 3G connection, according to my tests, the download speed with this SIM is around 6-10 Mbps

I had a LOT of problems using modems that came with other roms. They just didn't acquire a constant and always-on data connection with telcel.
By flashing this I have had a near perfect data connection so far!

900T with ATT - Where is the ATT modem ?

Hello,
I have a 900T that I am using on ATT network.
Where is the ATT modem that I can install?
It currently has the T-Mobile NK2 baseband.
thanks haeffnkr
You don't need to install an att modem. Just update the APN and you're good to go (assuming your phone is unlocked)
Hi,
Yes I am getting connected to the ATT network with tmobile modems but....
I am getting download speeds under what my ATT S4 was doing and my signal drops from time to time.
I would really like to use the ATT modem and see what difference it makes.
Does anyone have a link the the ATT S5 modems?
thanks haeffnkr

Hello,
You can either extract them from the stock ROM or search the SM-G900A forums.
I did a quick search and got this

Klte vs kltedv flashing

Hi,
I am currently running albinoman's cm13 Rom from 11 11 2015. I was considering updating to a new build in that thread (don't have the link currently sorry) but it is for klte devices and I am running a kltedv device.
When I first got into flashing mods I wasn't sure what the differences are. Would it matter if I flash klte instead? Would it just mean some features wouldn't work?
Thanks.
Bump / Is this posted in the wrong section?
The phone you are using is a Vodafone variant of S5 (SM-G900M)
The difference between F & M is the support for LTE bands
M Supports LTE Cat4 700/850/1700/1900/2100/2600 (Bands 1,2,4,5,7,17)
F supports LTE Cat4 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600 (Bands 1,2,3,5,7,8,20)
Some roms have support for both M and F variants
But based on your info the rom is for F variant at the moment so there might be some 4G reception issues if you flash the latest release. In rare case your modem/baseband might break.

I take it by bricked it would simply be a soft-bricking, not a hard-brick? i.e. I would only need to re-flash what i am currently running (just making sure I have the correct terms!)

Switch Firmware,

Hello, xda_developers.
I just got mail S7 Unlocked in the mail that I ordered from eBay, I believe it was a sweet deal CAD $549.99 + tax. I am with Telus BTW. Let's get to the point.
The phone is with Sprint which has bloatware and APN is locked out. I want to flash a new firmware onto the phone without Tripping the Knox. I looked into the 930U Firmware but don't know which one to pick. I looked into the thread: "Bloat free firmware 930U....anyone tried it?" and saw the part about root, so I backed out.
After I looked into the Sprint SM-G930P firmware and saw few different "Regions": SPR, XAS, and VMU. I found"SPR" is Sprint, and "VMU" is Virgin Mobile USA. For "XAS" I am not too sure, but "XAS image has the APN section unlocked". ("Here" )
Afterwards, I found the forum "Found a code...interesting...." and used the code "##BRAND#" and removed the Sprint boot logo, and some bloatware but the APN was still locked out, and still had "Hands-Free Activation".
I need help picking the right Firmware for my phone, which will let me add APN, and remove the "Hands-Free Activation". I do not want or need to root the phone.
The phone is up to the latest update:
Software Version: SG930PVPS2APG1 ,
Hardware version: REV0.6 ,
Baseband version: G930PVPS2APG1 ,
Build number: MMB29M.G930PVPS2APG1 .
I did not want to flash firmware without knowing for sure it will not brick the phone, brand new phone in a long time, I don't want to break it or brick it on the first day.
Aswell, I am not sure if I can flash a Canadian firmware, SM-G930W8 or the Global Firmware, SM-G930F.
Thank you for reading, hope you can help me out.

The 930U firmware will work perfectly fine without root. No bloatware and you can modify the APN's.

the 930U firmware is bloatware free, and I don't have to root the phone? Also does it have the "Hands-Free Activation" or the "Activate this device" in Settings?
It's bloatware free and it doesn't require root. And when I flashed...it simply activated my device and there's no activate device in settings.

alright, thank you very much.
Going to go flash it now
edit: Quick Update, went to flash the G930U files(firmware?) and it all went smoothly. Takes time to register onto network. any fix without root?
edit 2: Just did a factory reset from recovery, seems to have fixed the slow network register
edit 3: The phone seems to run warmer than the sprint firmware, no idea why
Never mind, I am, an idiot.

Congrats on the phone! That is a good deal considering the phone goes for 899 brand new, and I'd assume around 600-750. But with black listing these days I wouldn't trust Kijiji etc.
Your phone should work fine except for LTE. Its missing I believe 2-3 bands for LTE but on the plus side it's the bands that bell/Telus don't really use much like 2600. So if you ever see soneone else have LTE and not you that would be why but, then again the bands you don't have usually are for rural areas
Enjoy the phone

Thank you very much. It's a pretty nice deal, still going on I believe. I don't have to worry about the blacklist. Even without the 2600 band data works great, really don't mind not having a few LTE bands, for the price i got the phone for. With the 930U firmware, it works great.

The U firmware has more/better LTE bands enabled than the Sprint (P) firmware. I strongly doubt it's missing any LTE bands used in Canada.

I believe your correct with the U firmware It shouldn't be missing a band or 2 like it is on the Sprint firmware. But yes about the same price as you'd get it on Kijiji (since there's tax) but it's new and don't have to worry about the blacklist

FWIW - here are the bands that are apparently supported in the 930U firmware. This is band priority list from the LTE section of the ##DATA# menu. Not sure which bands Canada uses, but it looks like the only major one missing might be band 17?

I think the Canadian networks may have started using MFBI on band 12 (like AT&T has). If so then B17 would no longer be necessary in Canada. The best place to verify this might be to post a question about it on the Bell and Rogers forums on Howardforums.
In G930UUEU2APEH thread it is said:
"root with the only g930a method there is right now"
So, this universal firmware can be rooted, right?

Did the actual flash fail, or did one or more of the MD5 checks fail? What version of Odin did you use? If any of the MD5 checks failed, you just need to download the firmware again - your download was corrupted. If the actual flash failed, the most common cause is the USB cable/connection. Try another USB cable, and/or another USB port on your computer, and don't move the phone or computer around while it's flashing. Odin is very temperamental if the connection is not perfect.

I'm confused too. Are you wanting to use it on Sprint or T-Mobile? Do you have a sprint account, and did your phone activate on Sprint? I don't have any experience using a non-Sprint sim with this phone/firmware. The only thing I can suggest it maybe do a factory reset and go through the setup/activation with the T-Mobile sim already in the phone. Good luck.
If you're wanting to use both Sprint and T-Mobile on this phone, I'm not sure if that's possible. From what I've read elsewhere, even though this firmware is unlocked, it can only be active on one carrier at a time. I don't think you can switch back and forth at will, without activating/deactivating from one carrier to the other. I could be wrong though, as I have not used anything but my original Sprint sim.

unlocked us s8 to tmobile.

I've been searching and can't find a definitive way of flashing TMobile firmware to the unlocked s8.

I assume you have US Unlocked S8....
Normally you don't need to flash it with T-Mobile firmware because most of features are supported such as: VoLTE, Band 12 and WiFi Calling. If you do decide to flash here is the tread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/snap-guide-flashing-standard-fw-carrier-t3625817
Yes US unlocked. The TMobile radios are better and utilize the new tech that TMobile uses. I'm assuming I can use just the radios, but there aren't any definite answers.
I am trying to get figure out the same answer.
I also have the G950U1 and would like to flash the T-Mobile firmware to obtain the 256qam and 4x4 radio.
I'm still searching for an answer.
There is also T-Mobile firmware that doesn't have bloatware, but I don't know if it is missing any feature that you guys are looking for. I do have an unlocked S8, but haven't flashed it yet.
I've attempted using both Odin, and the modified PriceComsy Odin to flash the T-Mobile G950u firmware onto the Unlocked G950U1, and it results in FAIL! (DeviceInfo).
Ended up just flashing the modem. Just need to see how this thing works now
In case anyone wanted to know how the T-Mobile modems work on the unlocked variant, I'd say quite well with all TMobile features working

But what kind of speeds did you have before that?
I am going to go off the limb and suggest that flashing the 950u T-Mobile Firmware doesn't give us the 4x4 MiMo Radio and 256QAM. I've not seen a difference in call quality, data speed, or signal strength. Can anyone let the community know what the three TMB/TMB/XAA mean?
This should be a big decision differentiator when selecting between the S8 unlocked and S8 T-Mobile branded device on the T-Mobile network.

The fastest speed that is in the screen shot, half of that. Also I've noticed I don't get random lte to H drops anymore where I normally would in weak TMobile areas.
