[Q] Front Camera Recording Low Light - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I record using the front camera in low light, the preview looks fairly bright. But once I hit record, the picture on screen and the resulting recording darkens.
The lower the light, the more the difference between the preview and the recording/ picture on screen while recording.
Does anyone else have this problem? Maybe I have a defective one or just need a factory reset?

[Q] Camera unable to focus

Does anyone else have this issue with their Galaxy S5? On any object that's closer than two feet, it will have trouble focusing. I know it's able to focus because when I tap on the screen I can see the object in perfect clarity for a split second, and then it gets unfocused and fuzzy.
Should I exchange my phone?

I know from doing regular photography, if you're on auto-exposure mode, and you don't have enough light to get a good photo, the camera will struggle. Add flash if you're not already, or have some extra ambient light on your subject.
On low light condition focus of s5 camera is just rubbish. You see something esle while clicking, but photo that comes out after holding it for 5 secs is blurred.

Front camera shots anticipated

Hello everyone. in my moto g I noticed that when I take a picture with the front camera (any app) the frame that is saved is that this one or two seconds before the time when actually shooting the photo. with the rear camera does not have this problem. only if you use the hdr the problem disappears as the latter tends to delay the capture, the problem is that the app I use does not have the option to use the HDR.
someone has a possible solution?
edit: I realized that the problem is in low light conditions. When there is a lot of light the camera works perfectly

Work-a-round for auto night detection or lack of it? Video goes far too dark.

Just curious if there is a viable option for videos in low light and no flash.
When in auto mode and low light videos (and sometimes pics) and flash off the camera states "auto night detection cannot be used while recording videos".. Which I could care less about but it unfortunately makes the video or images MUCH darker (then what is initially visible and decent in preview) .
What is visible on screen before recording is more then fine and I would be happy with that but as soon as recording it gives that message and goes very dark. Very frustrating. Just give me what's on the screen why don't you!
Of course I can go out of auto mode but that does little.. Highest manual iso is 800 and I turn exposure up to +2 but this only partially gets better then the darker recordings.
If the preview screen can show an image or video with enough light why won't it record at that?
Anyone else seeing this and doing something to help?
Hey, I just noticed that yesterday , did you find a fix for it?

Snapchat front camera video. Too dark!

Anyone having the issue off Snapchat being to dark on front facing camera when shooting video?
And when shooting video on rear camera it's starts to zoom automatically.
The dark video for the front camera is a bug. To get around it you can enable the face filter, leave it blank (or choose a filter) and record from there. And the cropping for the rear camera is needed for stabilization.
Are you sure that this works?? ??? l have the same issue! I keep returning and purchasing new Nexus 6ps only to find out they all have the same issue! I really want to fix the dark video problem.
Igual have the same problem have u resolve it?

Focusing issues with rear camera?

I am using the FHD (60FPS) 1920x1080 on the rear camera and it seems to want to focus on anything other than what I select on the screen.
I will click to focus on my object and then it tends to undo my click and start focusing on other stuff.
If I don't do that the other issue is, it CONSTANTLY auto focuses a LOT.. Video will go blurry and then refocus and continues.
Anyone else having that issue?
Another issue I noticed is if I use the 4:3 (12M) 4032x3024 for pictures that the object is moving slowly, it will blur it but if I turn it down to 4:3 (6.2M) it will take a clear picture focused.
