I could not find Google Playstore. How do you go with it?
My Meizu MX3's model number is M353. Is it HK version?(international?).
I like the hardware and looks of its OS, but is there anywhere I could get some information about the OS?
Have you done rooting? If yes, can you tell me how to root? (I need some root applications, but will not flash kernel nor roms)
Sorry for too may questions.

actually i don't have it yet, I should receive it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow
and I asked the seller if it comes with all the google services and the play store and he answered me yes, he also told me that the phone doesn't come root. it's the hong kong version btw.
so maybe ibuygou doesn't have the same version, but it's weird you don't have play store and stuffs.

M353 is International. hardware is same in all country.
you can search "Google Play" in Meizu APP Store,
and...you can get root permission in system setting page.(you should login flyme account)

I am MX3 owner.

meizu support rooting directly in their OS. you can easily root by one click.
for the rooting,
in your MX3 setting, in "accounts" of setting menu, you can see "more" below "flyme synce" and "account balance". click "more" menu. meizu MX3 will request you to make flyme account for rooting and restore. make it. after rebooting, you can click "open system privilege" option below "receive method" menu. after accepting and agreeing the terms, it be just rooted. you can use rooting MX3. for restore, you need to update flyme OS with update and clear data. of you update OS, it will be unrooted.
for the usage of google play store, you don't need to root your device. in the google web, input "google play apk". download "google play apk", and excute it. in your MX3, google play store will apear. just use it. it's all.

Hello guys I placed the order for the mx3 32gb HK version at meizumxon website. Do you think it is a reliable seller ?
HK version should be the m353 model. Which is the latest flyme os is available for this model ?

I ordered mine off Amazon. So far so good. Running on TMO. Love the size the screen and the minimal interface. Had to delete several chinese apps. I also had to download Google Play in order to get my apps. Call quality and texting is good. I havent updated to the latest FLYME as i am stil on 3.1.4 i believe. Overall very satisfied that I branched out and tried a different phone.

Amazon,Ebay,meizumart,meizu-shop.

How to get the US Play Store

Hello everybody, first post here but been a lurker here for the past few weeks with my new s3.
Ever since I moved overseas from the US their has been many limitations of the web, the play store in my country, i dont mean to be mean, is complete $%#@, most of the s3 owners are perverts, the most downloaded app is something about Naked Ladies. Anyway, I have a rooted phone and I really don't want to use any kind of VPN, their slow, unreilable, and make me put on a passcode which I don't want.
If their is any tweak or hack to get the US playstore that would be wonderful to share, plus I have a US credit card and make sure my phone doesn't use my location services.
Thanks for reading (=

Play store should use localization from the firmware, me thinks. Also, checks build.prop.
If you got a international SGS3 one easy solution would be to flash a European (UK could be best for you) firmware and CSC, then setting localisation to UK. Or, you can flash a AOSP firmware which should be location "free" (except for localisation in settings for UI/Keyboard etc). The AOSP/AOKP builds around are still not 100% perfect though, if you care about such things.
Google for market enabler...
it might give you the apps available in the US but not the services like books, music, movies...

Market enabler is the way to go. The play store region is determined by a combination of carrier & country code from your SIM + geo-IP.

I'm in China and I have the same problem. Market enabler allows you to SEE the apps from another country but you still can't buy them. So it's a little bit anoying. If you go on Google play from a computer you can see all the apps.
I've bought apps fine with the market enabler.

Just in case someone messes up their Rom (like me), here is how you flash the original:
Download the newest version from here
You now have the update.zip, now connect your Meizu with your PC
Copy the update.zip to the main folder (internal) of your Meizu
Optional: you might want to do a factory reset, otherwise your gonna flash over your old install. To do a factory reset, go to settings -> about phone -> memory/storage
Reboot and press Vol+ & Power at the same time.
Choose System upgrade and press Start
Wait for it to install, you're done!
In case you're wondering how i messed it up:
i rooted and uninstalled some apps that i thought were not necessary. I somehow managed to mess up the Dialer and a few other things So be careful, you might break something by uninstalling random system apps.
A normal factory reset will not save you, i tried! The uninstalled apps are gone, you have to re-flash the rom.

Me too!
I now have this phone,I really like it.
But the firmware is very buggy,I hope a fw update is soon.
Notifications seem to stop once an app is not used for a while, for example if you open up Outlook to check your emails it will notify you once you get a new email, the LED notification light will flash, but if you leave it for about 12 hours then it will not notify you of any new emails, even the notification bar will not show your email.
Same with Facebook and Skype.
The phone is very light and I really like Flyme .
Also another thing I found is that scrolling up and down on a webpage is sluggush and slow, just like an Apple phone.
I have owned 3 other Meizu model phones and they all had lightening fast scrolling.
Hi i'm waiting for m2 note,it will arrive next week for sure ..someone tested xposed ?

Have you tried installing other launchers on the phone (Nova Launcher, Google Now Launcher etc)??? PLease also try and put widgets using the custom launcher and see if it works.. I've found out that the Lenovo K3 Note does not accept widgets using custom launchers.. some users have also reported those launcher crashing

Hello

Google services here in Italy crash and are unusable...
Do you know if there is the possibility to flash an international firmware version?
Thanks in advance

International version (I) only for international Meizus.
Universal version (A) You can install on both, International and chinesse Meizus. It is the version that is updated more frequently.
Chinesse version (U, C). From chinesse operators.
Have a good day.
And how can I know if the device is international or chinese one?
Only thing I know at moment is the firmware version (4.5A) and the origin (China web shop)
On the 4.5A there is a huge amount of chinese stuff, like google voice and many labels and guide text.
These features were not translated selecting Italian language.. Any solution?
Also, is there a repository to look for the international firmware version and is there some tool to flash it?

About voices, i need to download "google sintesi vocale" first from Google play, after that i install an app from a Htcmania forum menber @Indignao and follow instrucctions.

I think your version its like mine, you cant install International. I bought mine on china web shop too. Dont try to intall (I) firmware, follow with (A), its ok.
You can uninstall easilly all apps that remains on chinesse. There some features not translated to Spanish too.
Take a look on Spanish forums: Movilesdualsim and Htcmania. Theres lot of information about, some guides too.
I got my Meizu m2 note the other day. Living in Sweden. I'm happy about the phone overall, but one thing that bothers me is that you need to use the "security" app once in a while. Why? If I turn off the security app functions, the phone gets really slow after a while, app drawer lags, etc. Why do we need to use a security app when stock android remains fast even without it?
I really don't want this security app to kill applications etc, apps are not meant to be killed. This is a stupid feature of the phone and it seems I have to live with it, otherwise the phone gets sloooooow.
I can't wait to get it. I bought meizu phone,it's very good
I have problem with this phone and instagram/facebook. So when i wan't to uplad an video to fb or instagram it says it is not supported format. Sent that same video to my tab z and i can upload it. Tried few videos, all the same. Did latest update, hard reset, again.

Just received my Meizu M2 Note last week. One of the best phones I've used. Moving from a Moto x 2013, and definitely liking the upgrade so far. The system seems snappy and there was an OS update waiting for download out of the box. Using with a single Nano SIM and a 32GB Micro SD. The camera is absolutely fantastic, too. Totally smokes the Moto X's (and the Moto's OV sensor is brilliant).
FYI, if you install Google Play using the 'Google Play Installer' from the Meizu App Center you need to over write the Google Play Services with a 64bit version. You have to do this manually with a '448' version. You then need to disable auto updates from within the Meizu App Center otherwise it will overwrite this 64bit version with the previous incorrect version.
So, yeah, really happy so far

Axon 7 Chinese version help (A2017)

So I just yesterday got my Axon 7, which I got shipped from China as it was cheaper. Little did I know that there were different versions of the phone and the one I received was the A2017, which I have been told is the Chinese model.
This is my first actual Android phone so I have fairly limited experience, apart from playing around with my mates Nexus 6P (which I found very easy and intuitive to use), so I have a few questions/issues.
My problem is that the software the Axon came with is fairly different to the "Paired down version of Android Marshmallow ... to be as close as stock android as possible." shown in most review vids, even ones with the 6GB Ram Chinese model - eg. youtube.com/watch?v=xNOql_uuOAM
Here are some screenshots of my phone - imgur.com/a/6pOlh
The main problems I have noticed are:
The lack of app tray.
No google service apps.
A bunch of random, for the most part Chinese (even when system language is English), apps that I can't uninstall or even remove off of the home screen.
Different, non stock android icons for all apps.
I mean it isn't the end of the world, but I would love to get the normal android experience on this phone is basically what I am saying.
Sorry if this is a dumb question/easy fix, as I said this is my first time owning any android phone.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Google Assistant

I'm currently enrolled in the Android Beta program and running the most current Android version.
I also have the most recent Play Services version.
I have an unlocked 6P, purchased from the Google store in the US, but am now living overseas in Qatar.
I've read that Google Assistant will be available for my phone, but only to users in the US, UK, and Germany at first. Does anyone know 1.) If that will apply to my phone, and 2.) If so, is there any way to shortcut the geographical issue and receive the update like I was in the US?
Thanks for your help.

Hi... Try reading this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/how-to-force-enable-google-assistant-t3567560
There are also plenty of other threads over XDA or internet to force assistant. I think the downside is that you'll have to root your phone (at least temporarily to edit build.prop) to reach your goal.
Someone may correct me if I'm wrong. Good luck.

Axon 7S just updated to Oreo

This forum seems to have been the place for Axon 7S discussion since the device doesn't have its own forum subject. I thought this was the place to post this news.
A couple months ago I bought a 7S from AliExpress mainly just to check out. The general consensus was that the device would be stuck with Android Nougat. Today, however, I received a pleasant surprise as my device just performed an over-the-air update to Android version 8.0.0 (see link for screenshot). I am now even more happy with my purchase of the phone. I know there are still questions about its fitness for use in the US due to its antenna configuration (I'm planning on using it mostly as a media device, so this isn't too important to me, but I wanted to throw it in), but I think, for the $200-ish that I paid for it, this is a great buy, especially as ZTE seems to be continuing to update it.

So that's Oreo BO3 which is as far as the A2017G has come too. Is it still very Chinese software wise and does it have Google Play and other GAPPS?
Or do you have to jump through hoops to make it useable outside China?

I do remember going through a few hoops, but I found the Play store on the ZTE store and installed everything from there. Though, there was lots of Chinese to try and get through. When I tried to sideload GAPPS I had no luck, finding the Play Store on the ZTE Store was the key. Also, with the Oreo update all my apps were maintained, so I didn't have to go through that rigmarole all over again. As it is now, I'd say it's perfectly usable.

Unfortunately, I didn't do a good job of remembering exactly the steps it took to get the Play Store and Google Services installed on the device. I remember messing around A LOT with different apk files from apkmirror, but until I installed something (unfortunately I don't remember exactly what it was exactly, though I think it was the Play Store) from the ZTE Store, I couldn't get anything from apkmirror to load.
