Hello Xda-Developers and LG GT540 Users,
recently I flashed my GT540 to ICS by mikegapinski by fastboot method.
The phone was running on out.kdz.
I found ICS to have few bugs on my GT 540, so I flashed it to V20A by using KDZ.
Then flashed it to out.kdz by using KDZ.
Now the phone is stuck looping at Android logo, and fastboot mode is not available, only download mode works. KDZ doesn't recognize the phone now, "PHONE NOT FOUND", so I am unable to reflash it.
I tried the method at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10238074&postcount=41, but KDZ updater says "Phone Not found".
Experts, I need your advice to save my bricked phone, please help.

Recovery doesn't activate. Yes I tried all the methods in the thread you posted, including disabling lge modem etc.
I am able to get into download mode, but KDZ updater or my computer doesn't recognize the phone at all. KDZ says phone not found and the computer doesn't show any device connected either.
reboot into fast boot if it's still available and run
fastboot -w
Then reboot
If it doesn't, boot into download mode and flash a fastboot kdz and try again

Fastboot doesn't show up at all. It gets back to the looping android logo, even if i try the keys for entering fastboot (which worked earlier prior to flashing)
Download mode works, but KDZ doesn't recognize the phone at all!! "Phone not found" keeps appearing.

Put it in cs_emergency and it should work

No, I tried cs_emergency, it doesn't work...
maybe try to reinstall drivers and then try again in download mode and in kdz cs_emergency
its not driver prob he flashed kdz before....
You should open Device Manager to see if your PC recognised your phone properly. It should be in Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
I started up the phone in power+volume down = download mode. The PC installed the drivers and it shows in the LGE Composite drivers. However KDZ says phone not found?
I managed to flash the V20A french kdz to the phone.
The phone is now stuck in the android logo boot loop.
What to do next? Please tell.

Okay I finally got it back to working condition by this method. It is for future reference for someone if they are in the same situation:
1) Erase all the drivers of the phone in your PC. Including LGE modem, Android composite, ADB Spooner etc.. and reinstall them using Windows auto update feature.
2) Get phone to download mode and flash V20A and out.kdz using KDZ in cs_emergency
3)That's it phone is back into working condition.
Also, the ICS by mike gapinski is a great rom, but the lg gt540 is too weak to run it. It runs into several errors, most processes stop responding, so the gt540 is too weak to run ICS yet. My 2 cents.
BootLoop -> Solution:
- Boot into fastboot.
- Flash latest recovery (5.0.2.7) (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img)
- Use commands:
fastboot -w
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase boot
fastboot reboot- Boot into recovery (now you will can do it, 'cuz you flashed it previously)
- Flash another rom, like PCF v5.
- Now your phone will boot correctly.
- To flash 2.1 try don't use kdz, you can brick your phone doing that. There are lots of very goods 2.1 custom roms...
Or you sholud try another computer...
the best rom for gt 540 is by mur4ik 2.3.7 .tested , 100% stable.mine run on 825mhz.

This is the first ever guide written by me, and I am not an expert in android and recovery, so please pardon if any mistakes are found. Lets correct if any. Also at this time Karbonn A21's system.img file is not available hence we had to perform some hard steps to get the job done.
CAUTION : WARRANTY VOID : I'm not responsible if any hard/soft damage occurs to your handset after/during using this guide. I successfully unbricked my A21 and want all of you to understand the recovery procedure properly before doing anything. Rooting your handset and applying another recovery/ROM certainly voids manufacturer's warranty. Do anything mentioned here ONLY if you understand it.
The only reason I posted this is to save any karbonn a21 users time if his device gets bricked. I had to keep my business aside for a whole day to recover my Karbonn A21 in working state.
You will have to keep handy :
1) Drivers for Karbonn A21 Click here
1) CWM by Eklovya Click here
2) AIO Flasher by Fonehacker Click here
3) Custom ROM flashable reloaded (*.zip) and A9+ system image (system.img) (because A21 's system image was not found at this time.) here and here
Also use Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18 to root your karbonn a21 whenever necessary.
First of all you must understand that three partitions are necessary in Android : 1) Boot, 2) System, 3) Recovery
Other than these, there are Data, Cache, etc.
Unbricking an Android handset involves
1) Repairing Boot partition in fastboot mode using AIO Flasher to flash a proper boot.img file to the handset.
2) Installing proper Recovery partition in fastboot or normal mode using AIO Flasher, CWM Recovery by eklovya is a suitable solution.
3) Installing the System partition from a proper system.img file using AIO Flasher, or from a .zip file (Custom ROM) or a backed up ROM through CWM recovery.
Fastboot mode :
Fastboot mode is a Android device's state where it is possible to flash different partitions through a simple USB cable and PC. It can be activated on Karbonn A21 by keep pressed [Volume Up] key during power on (read : before power on) until your screen glows in green colour. Instantly release [Volume Up] key or your A21 may boot into recovery partition. On your PC proper drivers must be installed and fastboot.exe from Google is required to flash the partitions to the handset. AIO Flasher is a good GUI based solution for that.
Recovery :
During the above process, (for Karbonn A21) if you keep the [Volume Up] key pressed until the screen glows red, and then release the key, you enter into recovery mode. Updates to operating system's files can be installed from this mode. Stock recovery means manufacturer provided Recovery partition 'as it is' and Custom recovery is recovery partition OS developed by other developers, CWM recovery being the most popular one.
STEPS FOR UNBRICKING :
1) Repair Boot partition
Firstly enter into fastboot mode, and then use AIO Flasher to flash boot.img of Karbonn A9+ / Cherry Mobile flare to boot partition of your A21
2) Repair Recovery partition
Using AIO flasher, flash CWM Recovery's img file to recovery partition, in A21's fastboot mode. (For more info read this and this thread)
3) Install System.img to system partition
Currently A21's system.img is not available, else we could easily flash it to A21's system partition and get our handset running. Hence I flashed A9+ system.img downloaded from above (note that the downloaded file has extension .7z, to be renamed to .img), by AIO Flasher to system partition in fastboot mode. The flashed system rom was made for Karbonn A9+ hence it didn't work on my handset properly. I got white display and the touch screen and buttons didn't work. I used AIO flasher's screenshot facility to get into the handset and found that actually the system was up and running properly, except the display and touch interface. Then I decided to flash custom ROM and tried using santo_rock 's custom ROM DarkBoid. But it didn't work. Then I flashed ashoknraj 's custom ROM Flashable reloaded. It was success.
4) Install ROM for A21
To install the custom ROM via Eklovya's CWM recovery, the .zip file needed to be inside internal memory in the form of update.zip file stored in root folder, but the internal memory was not accessible through my PC as its usb drive was shown in windows explorer but was in [no disk] state, and I could not select [Turn on USB Storage] on my A21.
Here comes ADB 's power. I used ADB push to push the custom ROM into the internal memory.
Use the following command to push the update.zip (rename the custom ROM to update.zip) :
adb push update.zip /mnt/sdcard/sd_card/update.zip
Note the spaces and special characters properly.
The file is greater than 100 MB and hence some time will be required to transfer that file into memory.
If it shows error Permission denied, then remount using the command
ADB REMOUNT
and then try again.
Now we have the custom ROM ready in A21's internal memory, lets flash it. Boot into CWM recovery mode and select apply update.zip, let it install, and then wipe data/cache and reboot the device normally. (For more info read this thread)
If everything goes well, your A21 will now be successfully unbricked.
Of course you need patience and concentration to do all this.
DISCLAIMER : The above process and softwares are not my creation and are of respective developers. I just aggregated all these to one place.
Thanks for the guide. Do you know of any solution if phone only boots in QPST Download mode? No other methods like Fastboot, adb working for now.
I've connected via QPST tool but don't have images to flash. If you can research on it and provide the files to me, it would be great help.

Is there any soution to this problem. It arises when I install cwm. But I have restored the default recovery by mounting it in linux.
When it shows this in sceen you can access all the partitions in linux.
I used this command to restore the default recovery as it was 16th partition that I changed with cwm image
dd if=/home/tushar/recovery.img of=/dev/sdc16 bs=4096
Also fastboot mode in not working on karbonn A21. powering up while holding up volume key shows me no green screen

when i wipe data.... the karbonn a21 is bricked.....
cant go int o recovery mode....

I tried to use AIO flasher but it doesn't detect anything.
QPST download mode is shown if i press power and volume- during bootup.
Fastboot mode is shown on phone but on PC its doesn't detect any android device at all. No ADB support either.
I've cwm recovery install but its not showing my SD card.
Is there anyway to unbrick my phone without taking it to service center?

need some serious help,...i have bricked karbonn a21,...it got bricked because i formatted the boot partition which was of harly 20-40kb,..i guess,...i managed to take a backup from the same running device,..i got two files which are AMSS.MBN and AMSSHD.MBN,...and i don't know what to do,...when i connect my phone it just shows,..qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008,...i tried qpst software but it doesn't seem supported,....plz help,...can anyone tell me my phones current state,...and the process of de-bricking,...thanks in advance,... :good:

i have hard bricked Karbonn A21,....and now with some help,...i programmed the bootloader,....with the qpst emmc software download,.....and after programming the bootloader it shows qualcomm mmc storage,...so i think its the time to fill the partition,...with programming mmc storage,...but the problem is i don't have the original files backed up,..but i do have a running A21,..can i backup the files somehow,.or i can get the files in a zip on the internet ,.........plz thanks in advance,..... :angel:
My Karbonn A21 is showing white screen what should i do
Hard bricked Karbonn a21
My phone karbonn a21 was hard brick and in QPST Download Mode it was connected to the PC and was recognized by the drivers too and I, from QPST CONFIGURATION of QPST.2.7.374 software I added port and From eMMC SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD APP I used BP FIRMWARE extracted files in 'load xml def' and 'load patch def' and also in both search path 1,2 I used the location of BP FIRMWARE. After waiting few minutes it said download complete and phone around 4 touchpad it blinked and i disconnected the phone from PC hoping it can go in fastboot mode but it didnt power on and cant go in qpst and fastboot mode ! Now when ever i connect the phone in Pc or charger it just directly starts blinking in keypad only. And in PC when connected it says USB media connected but there is no any removeable disc connected when i looked in My computer and also in device manager there is no any sign of mobile being connected in computer ! Karbonn a21 Bricked. please help!
I tried installing Nokia X firmware on my Karbonn a21 but it gor stuck at black screen no boot logo or animation.
When i press volumeUP+ power itwas going to black screen only so i thought recovery partition is also gone
But volumeDOWN +power was working so i put it into QPST mode and tried EMMC download software with Karbonn a9+ bp firmware. it resulted in error of cookies not present!.
Then i got to know that volume up button was broken from hardware only. so i got it fixed.
Now i see green light for fastboot and then pink for recovery.
BUT if i leave power button on pink(recovery) it goes to black screen
And if i leaveit on fastboot(green) it stays green only .
I dont know if that failed QPST try blew my recovery or it got bad in the beginning only!
QPST mode is still working and drivers are getting detected as Qualcomm USb 9006.
Please tell me what i can do to revive my phone!. (Its not in warranty)
I can donate to whoever solves my issue!

Search some Chinese sites. I think paradox is the only XT535 ROM in xda. The development is mainly for MB526/MB525 here. And, don't try defy/defy+ ROMs on XT535, it'll get bricked.

Search some Chinese sites. I think paradox is the only XT535 ROM in xda. The development is mainly for MB526/MB525 here. And, don't try defy/defy+ ROMs on XT535, it'll get bricked.

Successfully Installed PARADOX ROM
It works guys.
Here are the steps I followed.
Steps for upgrading to ICS:
1. Make Sure all Drivers for the Motorola Mobile are Installed
2. Hold down Volume key and Power Key while switching on to enter Flash Mode
3. Connect the phone with Computer with USB Cable
4. Use RSD Lite to flash the phone with ICS “.sbf” file
5. Once flashed, after reboot let all other drivers finish installing
To root ICS:
6. Connect the mobile in Mass Storage Mode
7. Use SUTLR to patch the ROM with the given xml files
8. Then enable USB Debugging Mode in Developer Settings
9. Then Use the rooting package , click install.bat
10. After restart check if “Supersu” is installed
To install CWM Recovery
11. Install Busy BOX using SMART Install
12. Using “uni-init” install init-D support and verify it
13. Copy CWM Folder to the root of SD Card
14. Using a Terminal App execute install.sh inside cwm folder
15. Reboot, be fast to tap the volume down key while booting up and when Motorola logo appears and soft keys light up.
16. Choose custom recovery to go into CWM recovery
To Install PARADOX ROM:
17. Copy PARADOX rom file into SD Card
18. Reboot
19. Get into cwm recovery
20. Choose install from zip
21. Select PARADOX ROM
22. Follow onscreen Instructions
23. Choose NOT to overwrite Recovery
24. IF everything went smoothly as planned you should be now in PARADOX ROM
How to unbrick Motorola Defy XT535
Hello android geeks,
Please help me
Scenario
1. i was using chinese ics rom in my defy xt535. due to more problems with that rom, i flashed with Gingerbread rom. But i forge to wipe partition data before flashing . so i was unable to pass beyond red m logo
2. when i tried to enter recovery menu. i got a blank screen with green android with yellow exclamation mark within white triangle
3. again i flashed with chinese ics , again without clearing partition data (because i am not able to access recovery mode). now i am able to enter android , But touch screen is not working
What I have tried
1. I tried erasing phone data using Wondershare mobile transfer, but i failed as it is possible only if I enable USB debugging. sadly i cannot enable usb debugging as my touch screen is not working
Advantages
1. I can access bootloader (white screen) by pressing power button and up button
2. I can able to pass beyond moto logo, which is a good sign that the phone can be saved
Disadvantages
1. Unable to enter recovery mode (Yellow exclamation mark)
2. Touch screen is NOT working, so not able to enable usb debugging
Doubts
1. How to check whether my touch screen problem is software oriented or hardware oriented?
2. What is the method to completely erase phone data without entering recovery mode, no root, and without touch screen functionality?
3. Is there any way to install recovery menu without root function and without touch screen function?
4. My idea is to completely erase all the phone data and flashing it with gingerbread rom? Is it right or is there any other alternatives?

My mobile was ran into problem. Please help! Urgent
Recently I was tried to update mobile firmware (latest Kraft-A6000-S_S014_150730) by OTA update (via system settings->about phone->system update), that time my mobile was soft bricked. I downloaded firmware and installed then some time after got some options menu. And I attached that problem as picture.
Before that I rooted my mobile using KINGROOT apk v4.0 , there after I did unroot again using in the same app.
I thought unrooted mobile does not affect by system update (any firmware or OTA update by LENOVO). But unfortunately my mobile got problem.
I didn't took any backup before that. I don't know anything about CWM backup and all. I know only the root and unroot using KINGROOT app.
I need to recover my mobile back or tell me how to install LENOVO A6000 PLUS stock ROM or any other way is there tell me to solve the problem. Please guide me step by step process or any video link there it was little better to understand for me.
Please help me, it will be appreciated. Thanks.

First remove the battery completely, then insert it and simultaneosly hold Volume UP button + power button and then release power button when ur phone switches on and continue holding volume up button, then you will find an option called fastboot/bootloader, select that option, then phone screen will not be showing lenovo logo and powered by android stay there. connect your phone to pc via usb cable.
1. Google for Minimal ADB and fastboot, you will get a zip file package, install it.
2. then go that minimal ADB folder in C:\ and press shift and right click on mouse, select use command prompt here. it will take to DOS screen
3. copy this TWRP recovery.img in that minimal adb folder(C:\minimal adb). Link here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/twrp-lenovo-a6000-a6000-t3156149
4. now type fastboot devices in command prompt
5. It will show list of devices attached, it will show only if your phone is in fastboot mode.
6. then enter the following command: fastboot boot recovery.img
7. Wait for few seconds, it will load TWRP automatically
8. Take backup if any, and wipe advanced settings including Dalvik cache.
9. Then you will be able to find your device internal storage in my computer
10. Copy lenovo stock rom zip file to your phone. (Search google for Stock ROM of Lenovo A6000)
11. Now select Install on TWRP menu and from Internal Memory, go to data folder, you will find your zip file, select it and install.
12. It will install automatically and boots up with new Stock ROM.

No I don't think so, I have an OTA update waiting, but i don't want to do it now, in between the week as I don't have another mobile if phone gets bricked, will try this weekend.

Bro Did you try updating your device. And how did you root your device by using kingroot or superuser? I just rooted my lenovo a6000 plus by superuser using cwm. I just wanna know can i unroot my device by the native superuser full unroot option and install ota when lolipop is available without bricking my device?
I ve heard that people who rooted their lenovo a6000 plus with kingroot had problems to unroot and install ota updates is it the same case with superuser?

can you please share the instructions in short to flash this recovery. And will the ota updates work ? I guess they will work.
You mentioned the flashify app and I have never used an app to flash a recovery.img

Stock recovery for your phone is on the first page of this thread. Download the file, rename it to recovery.img and then flash it using fastboot.
Will this work for a6000 as well ??

I think my lenovo a6000 plus has been softbricked as it doesn't get pass the logo screen. also recovery mode is not opening ( tried every combination). Help me with this. This phone has really checked up my nerves. the reason for flashing this phone as it had a problem of automatically downloading apps without consent, and video apps popping out in the middle of night(time service, monkey test apps), so the only best solution i found was to flash it( tried every other possibility- factory reset, password change...etc everything). Now it has died on me, can't get pass the logo screen. Also connecting the phone to pc gives me multiple drive partitions. Please help.
Try to flash any custom rom..but first flash custom recovery using minimal and fastboot

lenovo a60000 ran into problem
hi my lenovo a60000 ran into problem it just vibrates and shows lenovo
start screen and not going anywhere from there,its not even going into
recovery mode,even when i connect to pc it doesn't show up there too,is
there any other alternative to fix it or is my phone cannot be
recovered,any help will really appreciate.

hi bud your situation seems to be similar to mine here is how I was able to work out mine, go to boycracked webpage use this " boycracked How to Unbrick Lenovo A6000" In google (sorry I cannot add webpage due to restrictions) the link from boycracked (mentioned above )actually worked the trick was to hold vol up+down key (while the phone is off) and then insert the usb into your computer, secondly my computer kept of saying that qualcomms --digital signatures not verified and the port is supposed to be Qualcomm Lenovo HS-USB QDLoader 9008 where as mine showed up to 9091, to solve this I uninstalled the drivers and then disabled digital signatures (use goggle how to disable signatures verification on whichever windows you are using) and it worked fine. 1. Download custom recovery for lenovo a6000 lollipop, just googling "[A6000]TWRP-2.8.6.0_no_theme.img" (without quotes)
2. download installation zip of supersu from chainfire, just googling "BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip" (without quotes)
3. Enter to fastboot, type "fastboot boot [A6000]TWRP-2.8.6.0_no_theme.img" (without quotes) in cmd/terminal. wait for a moment... until your phone land on custom recovery (TWRP)
4. flash file "BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip".

Just flash a custom one... No image twrp recovery.. It's the only one working now.. You can get it just Google it

I tried its not working,after flashing when I reboot to recovery it stays @ the android logo page .
May be I'm not doing it properly.

Just use fastboot to flash twrp 3.0.0 by sevenmax (just Google it)
Command:
Fastboot flash recovery (then recovery name.zip or .img)
Then flash from it the rom you like
