Lock screen notifications - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Anyone know of a few good ones out there? I've tried a few but they didn't seem to work. I'm tired of the ugly message box when I get a text etc.

That's one of the ones I tried but it was weird. It would notify me of missed calls but I would still get the stock SMS notification (yellow box) also, the missed calls would only clear from my lock screen if I pulled down my notification bar. I'll give it another shot.

I just tried this one. I added email, missed calls and SMS but I'm still getting the stock text message notification. It is showing me email though.

I was able to get the dash clock one to work but how do I make it my default lock screen? Every time I lock my phone it goes back to the stock lock screen. When I long press the lock screen I can cycle between the 2 lock screens but I can't "trash" the stock one like I can the dash clock one. I also can't change the order of them. I though maybe if I placed the dash clock in front of the stock it would set as default...no dice.

Move the dash clock one all the way to the right.

You can try Knock2+ It's very similar to Active Display.

what rom are you on? if there is an option in the lockscreen settings to use aosp or touchwiz lockscreen choose touchwiz and on your lockscreen touch and hold the clock you want to remove and remove it. click the plus sign symbol and add dashclock. go into your messaging app, go into settings and uncheck the option to "preview message". that should fix your problem

I used lockerpro lock screen it works really good. Also used dynamic notifications its simple and just like the moto x active notifications. I don't use anything anymore just stock light notification.

Lockscreen

This is hard to explain but is there anyway to make my lock screen have the little lock in the bottom instead of the pattern .
You get the little lock when you pull down the clock down. Then when you press the lock the pattern appear to unlock the phone.
I put some picture to explained better

Only way I know is to set the security to swipe instead of pattern.

I done that before and it just does the same. It just has the giant swipe symbol not the small clock

So when you go into the settings/security/screen lock and set it to "slide" you still have a pattern on your unlock screen? Weird. Are you on stock or custom?
I get where you're getting at. No, there is no way to do what you're asking from the stock setup. You'll either have to write some code and mod it yourself or find an aftermarket lock screen app that does what you want.

[Q] quick toggles disappeared

Got my shiny s4 the other day, all working well.
Now I did get an ota yesterday, don't know if this has anything to do with my issue.
The first day I could pull down the notifications area with two fingers to get all the quick settings.
Then there was all twenty or so toggles.
Now it's just the 7 basic ones.
And I can't add more from the settings, unless there is some hidden menus...
Any help appreciated!

I also have this issue. I had loads of toggles when first got phone then all of a sudden I only have 7. No toggle for air view, ect
Okay, good to know I'm not they only one...
But what to do?
Going for root and a custom Rom as soon as there is somethin stable out there.

Wild guess, have you turned on Talkback under Accessibility?
Nope, no talkback...

Mine all disappeared once, and I had no toggles at all.
A factory reset brought them back up again.
Did you root and backup?

Wave over Lock screen

Any way to set the Touchwiz Wave over info screen as a Lock screen widget?

So that you can always view the Quick Glance information? From what I know, the Samsung framework has no way to do that. It would be rather cool to entirely replace the background to the Quick Glance screen.
The Play Store may have some widgets that can give you something comparable that can also be added to the lock screen.

Will see if I can crack it open to be able to replace the background.

It looks like the background for the quick glance screen is one of the stock live wallpapers...I wonder what effect freezing them in TiBu would have?

Eye detection issues

I'm having some issues with this, and thought maybe I'm not the only one.
Whenever my phone untouched or I'm reading something or whatever the screen fades because I'm not touching it. Then the little eye icon appears in the status bar.
Does this icon mean it's looking for my eyes or that it's currently tracking them?
Because regardless if I'm looking at the screen or not it turns the screen off shortly after that.

up to now... I don't think it is visible AFAIK.
And if you try to google out there, there is/are app(s) which manipulate this function, by keep screen on, and make the color of the screen turn black (as if it is off). And it is working only with OLED display.
I never use/try it, because I don't really like the idea with my N3, whereby I have the s-view attached already.
