Verizon lowers price of maxx, ultra, mini - Droid Ultra General

Verizon just lowered the maxx to 199, ultra to 99, and mini to 49. This is music to my ears.
I paid 299, plus tax and an upgrade fee. I then was credited 90 for verizon30, then 100 for trading in an old electrify. Total cost 365-100-90=175
We have another line on our account with an old droid razr maxx. Now we can upgrade through comcast, pay 199, get a 100 visa from comcast after a month or two, AND do a moto trade up by mail, get 100 from moto. Total will be about $50!

Currently at the Verizon store picking up the MAXX. That price drop was what I was waiting for.
EDIT: And the dirty deed has been done. It was 540 total for the phone which beats the hell out of $760 for the Note 3.

I was lucky enough to have bought my MAXX less than two weeks ago. I just stopped by Verizon and they did a price adjustment for me

I was way outside the 14 days unfortunately but don't forget to check your credit card features. The card I used for the 90 day purchase protection and extended warranty also just so happened to have a 90 day price matching feature. Be sure to check the card you used and see if it has a price matching feature too. Citi/Amex/Chase all have cards that do.

i got mine for $89.99 plus tax!
too bad i'm still waiting for it...
hmm
do you have a break down of the man hours that went into testing and designing and advertising this little phone?
I paid a hundred for mine with the rebate. Verizon gets that all back and more over the long run though. that data plan is why they can practically give these high end handsets away
i got mine for free, they VZW actually paid me to take it
oh and got the network extender for 60 bucks and they sent me a $100 rebate form lol

Additional PSA: Moto X price drop at Costco.com

Today, the Moto X has dropped to $130 for Att and Verizon and $150 for Sprint on contract at Costco.com (3rd party called Wireless Advocates), plus those crazy taxes of course (approximately $50, I think). I bought my X for $200 from Costco two weeks ago and called today for a price adjustment, which they offer for 30 days beyond your purchase date.
Not only does Costco offer an amazing 90 day return policy (which I took advantage of to change from the HTC One), include an accessory pack (kinda worthless), and offer free shipping and activation, but there's an additional rebate offer on Sprint's Moto X this month only for a bonus portable battery pack (Motorola brand, I believe). A battery pack could seriously come in handy with our non-removable battery situation.
Costco also offers warranty by Square Trade for $99, which I believe is a good deal, if that appeals to you.
I know the price for a Moto X is lower now at Best Buy and Amazon, but factor in what Costco offers and see if it might work better for you.

Keep in mind after 14 days your in a contract. You can't change phones after the first 14 days without approval from the management. You can return it up to day 90 but your in a contact.

Correct. Sorry if that was unclear. I simply exchanged phones and stayed in my contract.

Just making sure we are all on the same page. Even swapping to a different device after 14 days requires approval though.

I don't recall any approval process. I simply called Costco, told them I had a problem with the call quality of the HTC One, and that I'd like to change to the Moto X. As soon as it became available, they processed the exchange. I had to pay upfront for the new phone and will (hopefully) get the refund when they process my return. Maybe there was an approval in the background somewhere.
Anyone know if this is online only or if it would be the same price in the store?

The only one listed as being available in the warehouses is the ATT model, and the price could be different. Give 'em a call.

$100 Discount on Turbo w/ 2 year activation

So according to this article on Verizon's website:
"Get $100 or more when you trade in your old smartphone and purchase a DROID Turbo by Motorola with new two year activation. Trade-in must be in good working condition."
http://www.verizonwireless.com/news/article/2014/10/a-new-droid-experience-arrives-in-48-hours.html
When I talked to a Verizon rep about this - You can turn in any smartphone as long as it turns on. It can be from other carriers as well.
Time to dig up my old Blackberry Tour!
I'll be turning in my old Droid X, lol. Appraises on their site at $2.28... not a bad upgrade in price.

they say a working phone in good condition.... so i would say no.
I'd assume this is an "up to" so if you turn in a phone you may get $20 off or $50. If it is instant $100 off for a in working condition phone sweeeet I'm turning in my old Droid X in great condition except the back battery cover
I wonder if i can get $100 for my old school original Droid (the slider model). Still boots up and work. I might have to try it if the Turbo is what I choose over the Z3v.
Hoping to jump on this in about 10 days. If anyone finds out an end date for the promo, please post up.

This deal was going on when I bought my 2014 Moto X (that I ended up returning)...but what the rep told me is it was any smart phone that turned on, and DID not have any damage to the screen. And you do AUTOMATICALLY get $100 for ANY smartphone.
OR you can do their trade in program where you get the value of your device according to them in the form of a verizon gift card. I just hope I can do this and get the gift card the same day to use it to buy the droid turbo.
new activation or contract renewals too?
sorry to be dense, but is the $100 available for upgrades with contract renewals, or strictly a new line of service activations? I'm hoping to trade in an HTC Aria
Nice. Too bad they eliminated easy official alternate upgrades. Got my maxx last September for 30 percent off and did the moto trade up for $100 bill credit.
Got second maxx (although a 16 not a 32) in June for free plus 100 trade up plus 150 comcast visa...

How'd you do a trade up and the comcast visa? Not seeing the Turbo on the comcast order page yet.
Anyone know if you can do a referral + the comcast order method? How's the comcast phone ship time vs the verizon store overnight shipping?
Just to clarify, it seems that the deal is for a $100 vzw gift card, not $100 off the cost off the phone. This makes the deal way less appealing for me.
Also appears to be only with the EDGE program.. nothx
Well that bites the big one!

I spoke too soon.. the graphic on Verizon Wireless website is incorrect it is with 2 yr contract OR edge.
I asked when the promotion ends, the answer was "It just started today but can end at any time."

Is it a gift card or what? If it's a gift card can it only be used at Verizon?
Unfortunately it is only for those who get it on contract or edge, I tried getting it at full price, the rep said he was 90% sure I could but when he checked he came back and said he couldn't do it.

If you bought your Turbo from Verizon within the past 2-3 weeks

The phone is now on sale through Verizon and if you paid full price you can call and get a price adjustment. I paid $250 for my 64gb BN that I bought on December 4th, and just got a credit for $125.
This is the number I called 1 800 922 0204. You need to speak to billing, I was on hold for about 20 minutes, but that's well worth it for $125.
Hope this helps.
Think this will work for those that purchased on release?

No.
if you used the edge program they will deduct 125 from the cost shorten the payments
Confirmed.. just got $100 refund on my Turbo 32GB.
I got my turbo on November 5th and tried calling in. They couldn't give me the full refund of $100 but did give me $40. I'll take it
edge discount
So they will give you $125 off if you are under edge? Really?
No. I tried and they wouldn't give me a credit.

Black Friday Sale?

Does anyone think Motorola will have a sale on the Moto x pure on Black Friday this year?

I opted to pick up a mint condition MXPE on Swappa for $100 off. Saved myself the taxes and shipping costs, easily an additional $50.

Did it still have the basic warranty the phone comes with?
Why wait for BF?
Just buy it now, and you have 30 days to price match if it drops during BF.
Yup. Same basic warranty. I got the original receipts with it and the seller even offered to assist with any warranty claims.

In the past, as of the 2014 x, moto has made you *return* your phone and buy a new one at the discount price. Just an FYI. Also the return policy for the US (except ca) is only 14 days.

Good point.
I was thinking of BestBuy and Amazon. Just grabbed a 16GB Moto X from BB. If price goes down, you can price match it.

BB is probably better if you're going to go the price match route. With the exception of Televisions Amazon doesn't usually price match.

Amazon will price match after you purchase an item too. I've done it before but not with a cellphone, but I'm sure they would allow it on phones too
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA Free mobile app
got open box 32 gb from amazon warehouse for 384 plus tax
I bought mine from Motorola with my Discovercard last month. If there is a Black Friday deal, I should be able to get Discover to comp me back the difference: http://slickdeals.net/f/6347766-discover-price-protection
I also found this thread and will get 30% (normally 20%) of the purchase price back as "Jet Cash" to spend at jet.com. I haven't purchased anything from them yet (I'm still waiting the 30-day waiting period to make sure I don't return the phone before they release the money) and a lot of people seem to be poo-poo-ing on Jet. I can't give my opinion one way or the other yet, but they seem to have a lot of product that I normally use at decent prices so it was worth a shot (especially combined with the Discover price guarantee).
I couldn't really wait any longer as I watched the resell value of my N6 just plummet over the last month I had to find a way to get a deal before BF...
amazon france now has 18% off Style! Just ordered one <3 (€412 and I got €10 off at the checkout when selecting express delivery for some reason )
Motorola UK website £30 off Style, so pays for the leather or wood option if you want that.
20% off a Play (£60).
Nothing off a Force.
