[Q] Wifi/USB tethering connects, but no internet - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
I have the N9005 note 3 and i am with a Canadian provider (Koodo). This means that I am free to tether and have no restriction by the provider.
When I turn on the "portable wifi hotspot", I can connect to the network with my laptop, but I can't seem to get access to the internet. It has the "no internet connection" sign and I am confident that the issue is the phone and not the laptop as I've tried several other devices before.
Is there a way I can fix this?
Thanks!!

[Q] Wi-Fi connection problem.

Here's the problem.
When I try to connect to my University's network , the Galaxy S is able to connect JUST fine. However, when I open a browser it says the incoming certificate is not secure and then I have NO INTERNET on any page.
What the network is supposed to do is redirect me to the login page so that I can register the device to the network. My phone can't do that apparently and just sits connected to the network with NO INTERNET connectivity. How can I fix the problem?
This is the university network and the instructions how to get on it for Android devices:
http://www.colorado.edu/its/docs/wireless/androidwireless.html
I connect to it just fine but am UNABLE to get to that device registration/login page.
This is NOT just for my university. ANY public network which requires me to accept an "agreement" before it lets me have internet access, my phone KILLS ITSELF and CANNOT pull up the agreement page but instead tells me there is no internet. I'm SURE its a software problem or something with settings but can't figure out just what it is. Help?
Just about the only networks I can connect to on Wi-Fi are home networks. It SUCKS.

WiFi Signal without having connected to a WLAN Network?

Ive got a question. I want to connect to a VPN at my university, TunModul etc everything is right. But i need a WiFi connection, so when i want to connect to the Wifi Network, it shows "setting up connection" then "disconncted". So can i just get a WIfi Signal without having connected to the WLAN network? So if you want a connection but you cant use it. I know that this is working for Motorolla, Devices, running android 2.3, so i this just a feature of Android 2.3?

[Q] Tethering on Rogers.. any success?

I've been able to connect to the phone via wifi hotspot and USB tethering, but I'm not able to get an online connection.. always says "No Internet connection" in Windows.
I have an eligible data plan with tethering enabled, and it seems to connect to the phone just fine (Windows 7).
Has anyone run into issues? I don't currently have PC Companion installed, but I'm unsure if it's necessary to tether (especially with wifi spot).
Edit: Solved. After some searching, the only thing to fix this issue is to enable tethering on the phone, then disconnect from the network (airplane mode), then reconnect. Now tethering works.

[Q] Internet connection sharing

Hi,
I*m running PACrom/stock kernel and I'm trying to make the following work to no avail yet:
I want to share the Internet connection I get on my N7 WiFi wirelessly from the router to my desktop PC via WiFi, Bluetooth or USB.
Although there are lots and lots of different apps regarding tethering/connection sharing on the Playstore, none has worked for me yet.
I tried FoxFi, Wireless Tether and so on, but nothing works. Either the app complains about the N7 being in an "unknown mode" and therefore refuses to work, or I can establish a connection between the device and my PC, but it stops at some poin, not getting an IP adress or similar issues.
Searching for solutions online mostly brings up this issue in regards to an Internet connection established via mobile 3/4G data, which doesn't help me at all.
Basically, my question is whether there's a solution which lets my share my Wi-Fi Internet connection on my Nexus 7 to my desktop PC, I don't care if its via WiFi ( would be my preference, but I don't even know if its possible to create a HotSpot on the N7 my desktop can access while still being connected to the other, Internet providing WiFi connection) Bluetooth or USB, whatever works is fine by me.
Would love to get some helpful advice/successful storys from you guys
Have you tried Proxoid? It's http only, basically a port 80 proxy that passes the http traffic over the phone's data connection via USB cable... I've used it on my Galaxy S3, but haven't tried to use it through the Nexus 7's wifi...

[Q] Please help with mobile hotspot

My problem is that my Lenovo A3000-H does not allow devices to access 2g internet neither through WiFi hotspot or USB modem. 2g internet works on its own, I can connect to WiFi hotspot and ping the Tab, however there is no internet no matter witch device I am using. Interesting thing is that if I connect A3000-H to the internet via WiFi and then connect it to my laptop via USB and use it as modem, my laptop has internet, but as soon as I disconnect WiFi on the Pad, 2g kicks in, but internet connection on my laptop dies.
Any help will be much appreciated.
