[Q] Flare lockscreen effect replaced by ink - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After fooling around with few different launchers and then removing them I noticed the lockscreen effect option only contains ink and wave options. Is there a way to get back the flare option or do I have to do a factory reset (that's what the Finnish Samsung support told me to do)? Don't think Note 3 should have the Ink option as stock.

I have wave and ripple that's it

Flare is only for live wallpapers.
When you select a static, you get 'unlock effect: watercolour , ripple, none.' On ripple, you can set an ink colour.

Thank you
Was wondering as i had used several static wallpapers and was able to use flare with them. Now when I changed between them from gallery flare wasn't there anymore. But seems that if you use Zedge for example to set a static wallpaper the flare effect is in use. That's why I didn't realize that was the reason. Thank you for clarifying.

[Q] Changing Honeycomb Lockscreen Wallpaper

So I just got my Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and am loving it except for the fact that it wont connect to my Macbook pro. I'm wondering if anyone has figured out how to change the wallpaper on the lockscreen besides the ones that samsung has provided. I have three options wallpapers, gallery and live wallpapers and only the images (which are provided by samsung) in wallpapers can be applied to the lockscreen. It also makes you crop the picture for the lockscreen before applying and it makes the picture look grainy. Anyone figured a work around for this?
Start in the Gallery app and open the image you want to use. Then go through the "Set As" menu and you will eventually be given the option to choose either Desktop or Lockscreen wallpaper.
And unfortunately I dont think there is a way around the blurry cropping that happens when you set the lockscreen. At least I havent found anything yet.
I used a pretty large picture source and don't see any obvious grain on the lockscreen. Also, while I was forced to make a cropping selection, the actual area displayed on the lockscreen appears to be larger than my crop selection. I haven't played around with this too much because I like how it turned out and I don't want to mess it up.

[Q] Live wallpaper changes and restricts lock effect to light beam?

Decided to try out having live origami as my wallpaper, I love it. subtle, not too distracting, low battery consumption and it changes regularly, perfect for my ADD for wallpapers.
However, when I go into settings>display>wallpaper>home+lock and change it to live origami, my homescreen changes no problem, the lock screen does too. But then it resets it to having the light-shaft unlock effect and greys out the option in the lock screen settings.
Is there anyway to prevent this or re-toggle the 'no effect'(just the icon of a lock)?
Did you figure it out
I'm having the same issue as you. Just wondering if you've figured this out already.

Change homescreen only. Can't have live wallpaper on lockscreen and have the light or ripples. Same thing on Note2 with ripple
I think it has to do with performance and possibly look. Samsung can't conttol what the interaction would look like between the live wallpaper and the ripple/light beam.

Kind of the opposite of what my isue is
it defaults TO the light effect and then locks it out from trying anything else. so I have live wallpaper and am forced into the light effect also

[Q] Missing "Light" Unlock Effect

There is no option for Light (Lens Flare) unlock effect on the settings window of my Samsung Note 3. However, when I use a live wallpaper on the lockscreen, it automatically uses Light unlock effect and the other ones are greyed out. But how do I unhide the light effect on the settings so I can use it with non-live wallpapers too?
Is there a flashable file for this? I'm using 4.3 non rooted (yet) stock rom.

Live Wallpaper and lockscreen light effect

Since updating to kitkat, it seems I cant have a live wallpaper on the lockscreen and the slide to unlock light effect or the ripple for that matter, the lockscreen changes to the circles with padlock in the middle when I put a live wallpaper on the lockscreen. The lockscreen effect option in settings is also greyed out. Is this just something I cant do now on kitkat or is there a way round it?
Cheers
Light/Ripple effects were always available only for static lockscreen wallpaper.
update: hmm.. just checked on 4.3 - light effect works on S4.
I remember on S3 ripple effect(on old 4.1) worked only on static wallpapers.
update2: only light effect works. ripple doesn't work with live wallpaper on 4.3. Even option to change effect is grayed out.

I've had the light effect with live wallpaper for nearly a year since I got my s4, only just updated it though been on 4.2 since I got it. Why did they disable it? worked perfectly on jelly bean.
It makes me wanna more to stay on 4.3. I still can't find the reason why i need 4.4. Even ART is not available in TW 4.4 ROMs.

[Q] Lockscreen animations after 4.4.2 KITKAT update

Hello there!
My problem is rather aesthetic, but id like to sort it out.
When i had a jelly bean installed on my n9005 and used an "animated wallpaper" (Phase beam) on my Lockscreen i had a nice light effect while hovering my finger above the screen, followed by a nice sound while unlocking.
The funny part is that it dissapeared after update to 4.4.2. and i get that ugly white padlock with a white circle to mess with, like on the stock android .
(but only on the animated wallpaper, while on static one i can still use the ripple effect and ink effect if i like..)
(N9005XXUENB3_N9005OXXENB1_XEO to be exact)
is there a way to get that back? or maybe there is an option im missing out? (im having air functionality ON)
please help me if u can, as i loved the way it looked before, and i really want to get it back :fingers-crossed:
