[Q] Shipped from Amazon. Seal Broken? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) General

Hey,
I wanted to know if any of your are experiencing the same thing I did. I just purchase the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition White 16gb and received it in a package that you can easily tamper. It was not taped shut. The package itself for the product has both seals broken. I took out the product, it seems to have not been touched.

Can you return it and ask for an replacement. It Doesn't sound legit how they sold the device to you.

Yeah I just called them for a replacement. They are going to send me one for 1 day delivery so it should be here tomorrow. I am just really upset with them right now because I have been waiting for the device. I was just wondering if other people that have purchased the tab from Amazon got a broken sealed tablet.

a lot of people complained about this with lasr year's note. I forgot what amazons reason was. mine came sealed.

i got a 16gb black shipped from bestbuy and seals were in tact.

My cousin ordered one off amazon and the seal was broken. Half his screen did not function and the home button was busted. Luckily, he was able to get a replacement.

Thanks guys for responding. I thought it was uncommon. I guess its not. My replacement just shipped out. Hopefully the seal isn't broken again...

Galaxy nexus gsm for $575+shipping!!

Expansys eBay store has the galaxy nexus for $575 + like $5 shipping... The only catch is its a open box item.. This is my first time opening a thread, Can I post the link or no?
Edit: I see other threads that post links so:
http://stores.ebay.com/eXpansys-USA-Store
I really want in on this but I'm hesitant knowing that it could be one of the ones somebody returned because of excessive banding, or other screen issues. Manufacturers and retailers usually don't consider that a problem and send them back out.

I bought mine from one of those deal sites for $565 shipped. Came in all original packaging. The only problem was the package seal was broken. I think reseller opened it to test the phone before shipment since it's an international phone. Other than that it's perfect!
Unfortunately he doesn't ship international
I also got my Galaxy Nexus from an open box deal via their eBay store and when I got it I couldn't figure out why it was returned. It was in absolute mint condition, couldn't tell it had ever been used. Accessories were still sealed even.

Just received my 32 GB Note from Amazon and the seal was broken...ugghhh

Finally received the Note 10.1 today and when I opened the Amazon packaging....I noticed the Samsung box wasn't wrapped in plastic...so I go to open it up and notice the white tabs on the bottom have been opened. The Note seemed to be all wrapped still and everything was in the box, but I had visions of someone getting the 16GB and getting a 32 GB and putting the 16GB back in this box and returning it or putting a llemon back in....uuugg. Getting a new replacement one sent out today for tomorrow. Wish me luck this time.
Mine did not have plastic but 2 little stickers one on each side.

Those two stickers were both cut through on mine. I wanted to just say the hell with it and use it anyway, but I thought better of it with the amount of money it cost.
There is another thread / post on this forum where another person reported that the seals were broken when they had it delivered from Amazon and they had a response that this very common where Amazon probably check the devices contents before shipping, ideally they should put their own seals on if this is common practice.
As for the plastic wrapping, I bought mine from Samsung store in the UK and they did not wrap it with plastic, just the two seals.

Interesting. The person I spoke to at Amazon never mentioned this. I'll be interested to see if the next one comes like that as well. I think they should atleast state this in the package contents otherwise how can you not assume that the package was tampered with.

No we are all RUSSIAN Americans.
Why is everyone so excited about paying $50 extra for another 16 gb when an sd card costs half that?
And yes, USA RULEZ!

Yeah, one of the seals on mine was broken too. Apparently this is quite common. I just ignored it, it's not like Amazon is secretly sabotaging all their Notes because that wouldn't exactly be good business for them.
If it was available I would've gone with the 64GB version because mobile games are so huge these days at up to 1.7GB from what I've seen so far.

So take the same 50 bucks and toss in a 32 GB sdcard. I still don't get it.

I got mine this weekend from Best Buy and found out when I got home that the seals where broken.. Took it back the next day for one that had seals intact.

Lol If Putin has his way, we might end being that. The ole' Russian Bear is on the prowl again, and strong.
I got my 32 GB Model from Amazon yesterday, and both seals were intact.
Hope I'm that lucky with mine from Amazon.

Mine, delivered today, had a similarly looking cuts but on the closer inspection I think the box just got banged up while getting to me. So, I think the box cover must move a bit breaking the seals eventually. Inspecting it closely I could tell they didn't 100% break and parts were actually intact. Pics with the intact areas circled attached. HTH.
Mine arrived from Amazon in a ****ty for book box so not a lot of buffer around it and with one of the seals broken but the content was obviously new.
My seals were unbroken, but I could see that the buffeting around in the shipping box had weakened them.
Bought mine in a little shop here in Vienna: BOTH seals unbroken
My wife then bought another one for herself then the next day in the SAME shop: ONE seal was broken, ONE INTACT.
I tried to open the box keeping the unbroken seal intact: not possible
Explanation from shop: seals sometimes break during transport (they were looking through 7 devices, mostly seals were intact but 2 had one seal broken, 1 both.
Methinks: nothing to worry about, seals are of paper and not plastic foil thus might rip during transport

Mine came yesterday in an Amazon box with NO padding at all. The Samsung box was rattling around in there. But the seals were intact. The Tablet seems fine, but will be complaining to Amazon about the packaging. A $550 item needs more "respect" than that!

Was it fulfilled by Amazon (either sold directly by Amazon, or sold by a third party but fulfilled by Amazon), or did it ship from a third party? I have NEVER had anything fulfilled by Amazon come without padding.

Newegg Note 2

Just taking a poll for people who have bought their Note 2 from Newegg.
Does the Note 2 look brand new when it arrived?
Any issues with the phone?
Do you know which country the phone was made for?
Thanks
I ordered one. It just went on sale at that price yesterday. I doubt they have been delivered yet.
Got my white one from Newegg two weeks ago. Was brand new and the box had three seals on it. Has a North American charger. No issues with the phone. I think it was for South America? The menu was initially in Spanish. Loving it. It's a steal at $589 currently!
I got one from newegg.ca. It arrived in Vancouver after about 4 days.
It is the international N7100 version. No LTE, but it does have HSPA+. ALJ3 build.
The packaging was new, sealed, and everything looked unopened. I know the real sleezy dealers have ways of sealing the box back up, but I'm pretty sure my model was brand new. Newegg is usually pretty good, and I don't think they would open the box without a reason. I think this model comes from the factory unlocked, so there is no need for newegg to open it to unlock it. These phones are probably too new to worry about getting a refurbished unit.
I wouldn't worry about it. Even though they are now available in Canada, I still would rather have the N7100 as I hear it is faster than the LTE version.

Ordered one yesterday and newegg didn't make the delivery time today. Should of just picked it up instead
NewEgg has always been good for me. I would have preferred to order from them instead of the EBay seller last week. Not talking bad about that Ebay seller, he did a great job and shipped out the same day I bought. That's better then me when I sell on Ebay! Not to mention some how I got around paying tax on it. I just ran across a few dead beat sellers on Ebay in the past. i trust NewEgg better then Ebay, 1Dealaday, IceMonkey and TigerDirect.
Ordered mine last night...
should be here tuesday of next week...will report my findings upon receipt...
can it really be that many refurb'd devices out there, if any, so close to the release date...???
Who said anything about refurbs? They are brand new.

As did I and I posted a response. The OP asked if they look new. Is that supposed to mean "are they refurbished units?". News to me but whatever.

well newegg is a site that's known to sell new and refurb'd smartphones, so asking if the phone "looks new" prompted what would, to me, be an obvious alternative to "looking new"...if someone answered stating that the phone did NOT look new, then it would either be used or refurb...also 2 + 2 = 4
it's called "context clues'"...and you are not so bright...
i bid you peace...
Ordered mine today, just to good of a deal at $589 shipped. The site says 'new'. I have always found Newegg to be a reliable seller, I am pretty sure it is new in box. :good:
Some of the shady on-line retail sites will take referb phones and ship them as new, for full price.
This is not usually a practice newegg is involved with.
I think, reading between the lines, that is part of what the OP was asking. Maybe not, but it's good to put it out there anyway. It is a legitimate concern.
I received mine yesterday. Its brand new. Now I'm off to read more posts about rooting.
Ordered mine about a week ago, brand new

Newegg is not shady, they have disclaimer stating that some phones might have to be unboxed to unlock since they are are carrier locked. Note 2 doesn't have disclaimer so it should be new sealed box. I just ordered mine today at $589.99.

Just got my Note II in today from Newegg (my 1st purchase from them)...I actually called in today just to have time to play with it
1. Firstly, This is definitely a new device. Mine was still sealed in the Samsung box with the tamper proof patches on it.
2. No issues so far.
3. America.
4. GO VOTE SUCKAS...!!! :good::victory:
Just received my GN2 from Newegg.
The box still had the Samsung seals on it, and a US charger was included as well. Phone itself was brand new.
The default language was English (UK) so make of that what you will.

I actually got this disclaimer when I ordered mine. I thought it was a little strange and made me second guess my order, since the international version is supposed to ship unlocked from the factory. Newegg should not have to open it.
As mentioned, it turned out to be brand new and sealed when it arrived.
As a side note, it should be noted that the N7100 (which is the one newegg carries) is non-LTE. If you want LTE, get one from your carrier or wait until newegg carries the 7105.
Got mine yesterday...brand new in the box...:good:

[Indians only] A few questions regarding RMA and selling RMA on eBay

I got myself an N7 about one and a half months back. I'm quite happy with it, barring two things:
A noticeable screen lift (aargh, I got it at last)
The lack of 3G
Basically, what I wanna do is to RMA and sell it on eBay to raise cash to buy a 3G model (because a buyer may return saying there is screen lift)
Now, I've made some mods to the box to fit my n7 while charging. Can I RMA this? Also, how do I RMA in Kolkata? And does an unopened RMA product count as new on eBay?
I'm in Kolkata, if you wanna know.
Can anyone help me out?

Is open box tablet acceptable from Newegg and Tigerdirect?

I got two open box Note 10.1 2014 from Newegg two weeks ago and one open box from Tigerdirect this week. The wired thing is the seals were broken from both of sellers. I ordered a brand new one from them! I felt a little frustrated and tired of calling their custom service. By the way, I did replacement first time bought from Newegg. Then I did a refund second time. I did a refund for Tigerdirect too. All the refund claims are on their way now. I do not know if I am so picky? If you were me got an open box one, will you accept it? Is it acceptable?

I don't care as long as it doesn't look like it was used. My LG G Pad came in an open box.
It would bother me a little, but if the tablet works okay I wouldn't worry about it I did just buy one also that the seal was broken. Works fine though and no signs of use

Very often they break the seal just to add the electrical outlet plug for your country. Ordered mine from ebay and that's why the seal was broken.

Not trying to sound like a jerk, but doesn't "open box" imply the box has been opened??
