A bit confused. If you got your current one the first day it was out, how did you have one before that without these issues? If you did, why didn't you keep that one? :what:

Im very sorry there supose to be xZ not z1
I had xz before xz1

And I forgot mention about very poor touch sensivity ...I'm unlocking my line-password with 3 tryes ...what's happening sony?! Why you getting worst?!

might have a handset issue, as my touchscreen is working perfectly in that respect.
have you tried the thread with the display type? might be worth seeing if you have a different type to most others here

Do you have screen protector installed?
After installing screen protector I noticed that touchscreen is a little bit unresponsive compared to not using one.
Im thinking to remove the shatter proof film and install a new good screen protector.
Btw the screen protector Im using now is a little bit thick coz I cant find a good one until now.
Try to remove sp if you have one.
Yellow tint is already an issue for some devices. kindly check the post regarding this matter so you can check which panel your z1 is using and what is the serial number.

Ok but checking anything doesn't give me a solution ...speedtaping is my worst thing i can select 7 of 10 pictures in gallery
...before installing screen protector it was the same

you have to do some basic troubleshooting here my friend. First of all to rule out a software issue make sure you are on the very latest software available, my sig has the latest version available. If after updating you are still having issues, then you have a hardware fault and you will need a replacement.

And I have latest software

well you have answered your own question, you have a faulty handset here, aslong as you havent messed around with the phone (rooting) your warranty is still valid and you should be able to get a replacement

Same here, random black screen with backlight, when I make a phone call sometimes screen stay black (no screen protector) and if I want to turn the screen on I have to push the power button (so I can't use the "power button ends call").
Also touch screen responsiveness is weird somethimes.
@sofir786 rooting does not void warranty.

If you send a phone that is rooted and is rooted when you send it for repair to either Sony or your network carrier they wont accept it for repair. Good practice is to restore the phone to complete stock, thats what i meant by "rooting voids your warranty"

Ah fair enough my bad, i know now atleast lol, keep hearing and seeing different things.

Again yesterday when restarting the Z1 stuck in black screen at boot.
I noticed that the power & vol+ vibrate three time in less than 5 sec (it was 10 sec with Z) and it looks like there is no more restart with one vibration ?
Will call and ask for a replacement unit.

There is a shutdown button located inside sim card slot.
Check for tiny red reset button.

Yup, do ask for a replacement. I too had same black screen issue. The proximity sensor on mine was buggy too. I submitted it to sony service center today & will be getting a replacement (in 4-6 days).

So i sent my nexus in for repair

it arrived yesterday at htc repair and ive been watching the repair tracking site. i had some pixel problems, like a quarter of my screen was darkened grey.
Keep in mind my phones bootloader unlocked, rooted, haha and i sent it in as is running the latest miui. Why? idno.
Anyways. I just checked the repair site and it says:
Ticket Information
Status: We are repairing your phone.
Service Type: Repair
Issue Description: top screen is darker that the rest of the device
I havent approved to pay for any repairs for an out of warranty phone. So i guess im off the hook right? I think im about to prove that htc repair people dont give a F***!
THought id share..
Uhhh, we have known this for a year now. It has been proven time and time again that HTC will warranty repair hardware defects, despite an unlocked bootloader.
This is nothing new or surprising.
Did someone has problems with the multi-touch screen: lags, do not respond or random reactions ...even when having a call ?
the solution for now is to push "shutdown button" and it seems to reinitialize the sensors for the screen ... isn't it weird ? It occurs 40% of the time ...
The menu for reinitialize sensors/calibration do not exist (for HTC Legend/Hero you can re-calibrate the sensors).
Do you have same problems ?
I will send it for repair soon...
im having the same problem, ive had it for a long time now, ive gone threw 20 Roms. so i know its not software related, or is it something the devs are over looking??
weird thing ....do Googlers have same problem when demonstrating navigation/goggles/phone calls/voice recognitions .....or do we fall on bad series ???
definitely hardware problem or something no-one has been aware of ....?

Sometimes it's worse than others, I think if the phone is running something pretty intense it happens more often. Otherwise, no, there's no calibration. Calibration doesn't make sense on a capacitive screen.
The touch screen issues have been known since the beginning, and the solution of quickly turning the screen off and on has been known for just as long.
It's part of the hardware, and most if not all Nexus owners experience it once in a while.
Getting a warranty replacement for that will not fix anything, it is a flaw in the hardware design.
Good thing to know that...but really weird for such a device...they probably think about it when starting/choosing next nexus.... ;-)

I'm curious whether they'll return it with a relocked bootloader and stock ROM
i've noticed that the only time i have touchscreen response issues is when i use my N1 without a case on it and it seems to be because some of my fingers touch or get near the edges of the screen glass. i have a silicone slip on case and when its on the phone it prevents me from touching the glass accidentally at the edges and i never experience any response problems when its on the phone. just my 2c.

yeah that would annoy the crap outta me as well, glad mine does not exhibit this problem.
i'd love to guesstimate how old mine is but i'm the second owner, it might be possible that they fixed this hardware issue in later build revisions or it could just be a random problem with the touchscreen/module, some do it and some don't idk.

was it amoled or slcd though lol
i have to make the call when i get up. today my usb port was gone from the phone when i went to plug it in tonight. i never used to have the screen issue, it slowly started happening and now it happens all the time, i lay it flat in my hand and i hit a button on screen and my menu pops up etc.
nice to see a recent time frame though, i'm dreading going without my phone and having a dumbphone replacement. would love to know if it was amoled or slcd you got back though, thats my one worry

left side of touchscreen unresponsive

I bought a used nexus S today. and surpringly i found that an area (vertical rectangle) on the left side of the screen is not sensitive at all.
The screen is totally unresponsive on this area. So can you please help and tell me if it's a hardware problem or not? (no warrantly as it is a used phone)

Most likely hardware problem try and flash different rom and see if it fixes problem.if not its probably the digitizer that is causing the problem

i have seen a problem very much like yours in other forum , in which , someone gave an answer and worked , but , i am not for if it is real or they were just bullshitting
get a lighter , you should have one if you smoke , take out that part which make fire , i dont know how exactly call it .
one way to identify it is what i want to say. if you put your finger over it , you should feel small electrical shock when you push the button
find that part , and shock the screen where unresponsive with it ...
don't ask me how is it works , i dont know ... you can either ignore me or take a shot...
good luck to you
....
you may not have warranty , but i think you can find some mobile shop to fix it , of course , you need to pay for it...

one thing i can tell you
in China , replace SLCD screen needs about 600 CNY , which means about 100 USD
SA creen nees about 900 CNY , about 150 USD ...

No he's talking about an electronic lighter.
No idea how safe it is to send a shock of current through the capacitive screen though, read up more before you attempt.

Flashed different roms and results is the same.
Did someone try the lighter solution?
Is it easy to change the digitizer?

No you need to seperate digitizer from the screen. Risking breaking the screen. You can buy the digizteir and screen that is preassembled buy it's pricy.
.around 100 I think. Buy the digitizer and take it to the local shop its probably cheaper that way.

I have the same problem with the area by the backspace and "p" keys in portrait mode and along the status bar in landscape with the charging port to the right.
I went running with my phone in my waistband. Stupid I know. When I got home, my phone was soaked and the screen was 100% unresponsive and the colors would change intermittently.
I put it in a bowl of rice for a few days in a warm area of my apt, but it hasn't fully recovered two months later. You MAY consider removing the screen and checking for particulates or trapped water vapor. I've been meaning to, but haven't managed to get the tools yet.
I'd be interested to here about your solution if you find one.
Best of luck.

in the first few seconds , the author demonstrated right side of his screen "number 3 6 9 " were non-responsive , and then he use that thing from lighter , shock the screen thought his finger, sure , that's gonna be little hurt...
but , be careful , i also read , this method MAY REDUCE THE LIFE OF SCREEN.
Thank you very much for your answer. As said above, things can't be worse. I'll try this method and tell you the results.

Launch Day Nexus 7 Defect

I've screen staining, screen lift, screen ripples on left side if pressed too hard.
Its past 15 Days, do I have to go through ASUS?
How long dies it usually take to get my nexus 7 back?
Should I return to stock locked before sending it out for warranty repair?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Definitely return back to stock, you are going to have to use Asus, and finally it takes about a month I believe from time it is shipped to return in your hand.

Hi!
Screen ripple is present on all devices so nothing to do there. But the other issues are more than enough to RMA it. It took about 10 days for me to get mine back from ASUS Sweden.

does z2 has touch problems?

im now on z1... and i have that problem when touch screen takes life of its on and starts to go around -.-
same thing is on z1s and z2 tablet...
how about z2 the phone?
so far so good?
Any liquid on screen creates this problem for me with th Z2. It does not matter if its moister, sweat or rain drops they make the screen cray cray only way out is to wipe the screen.
Not only..when i chat more than 20 minutes some of my finger touches are not recognized and i must to touch the screen with my other hand to rec.it.. its strange.. .314.. hope Sony will fix it. (hope its not something with the metal frame and sensor confusion).

This is true of every capacitive touch screen I have ever used.

I owned Z2 and Z2 Tab. If you leave so munch oil or finger-print on your screen it will cause touch problem, wipe out and everything is fine.
You may try tempered glass or mate screen protector to reduce this problem.
This is exactly why I never wanted to give up my slide out keyboard phone. I wish more people were like me, I kept holding out for someone to make a respectable keyboard phone but I guess there's no market. I am not a fan of using the touch screen for entering text and numbers. Today was a prime example, my morning was rushed and I am fumbling to try an enter a new hires phone number. So frustrating, I swear it was the 15th try that I finally got it! Here I am fumbling with a phone while trying to direct workers to their tasks and deal with production and management at the same time.

still holding ontu my n900 and n950... my z1 died and got new under warranty... wanna sell it and go for z2 if it doesnt have touch problems like z1...
rocking n950 for now...
yes it does
thats my z2 has ghost touch i dunno what to do to fix it yet
old firmwares seem to bring up alot of ghost touches
i had very little on 314 firmware
also on my older units, i had them regardless of the firmware
I remember back when I had .55 the screen sensitivity was pretty bad, especially during phone calls when it suddenly turns on when it shouldn't, also double tap to wake wasn't as responsive. After upgrading to .314 it seemed to fix those problems
I had this problem with my Z2, too.
Then, after an unlucky drop, my screen was broken, so I got the screen repaired. After approx. a week my screen got more and more its own life. At the end the phone was totally unuseable. The repair shop replaced the screen again, since then it just apperars from time to time like before.
I think Sony has some issues with these screens. My S2 which I had before the Sony had never such issues, even if the screen was quite dirty. Maybe thats why they introduced the Z3 so fast?
Here you can see the "amok screen". I enabled "Show touch" in the developer options.

Paid for repair 225€ at a shop in Berlin. No official repair shop, in this case it would have been about 350€. However, it is no longer waterproof.
But they replaced the defective (ghost operated) screen without any questions at no cost.

I suddenly regret my choice to bought this phone ?
Guys, just update and it will be fine. Last kernel included in january firmware fixed all bugs (aod grayishness, screen flickering etc.) You can flash Luxembourg firmware if you have carrier unlocked j730.
I the most times you just need to do factory reset
