Which version do you have?

its 99% the 6903. 6906 is not released yet

This **should** not be possible, right? I have T-mobile and I was going to buy the C6903, but the C6906 would be more applicable to the North American market with the addition of band 17 rather than just band 4.
Is it possible, though, that 12mbps is just HSPA+? Probably not on AT&T, right?
I'll pull the trigger right now if the C6903 "secretly" has band 17 enabled
-Collin-

6903 is technically possible to have lte on AT&T as long as you're in an area with 1700 frequency, which is rare since AT&T uses 700 more.

It actually may be. I had a TL with has no AWS support, but after flashing the international baseband, I have HSPA + on TMo. If the ZU LTE for NA got released, somebody with 03 and att can test it

ive been standing on the edge of the c6906 and it jus twasnt happening for me or any of the american users. i gave up and got the c6903 and it works great along with lte sometimes but h+ is honestly just as good. and the screen kinda sucks yellowish tint and my htc screen isnt even hd and looks more crisp...

I had the G2 on AT&T and loved it, but I really want the Z1 on T-mobile over the LG G2. I know this thread isn't about that, but, it's what I'm currently going back and forth on. Not pleased to hear about the yellowish tint; first I've heard about that actually.
I think the C6906 is supposed to be released this month, but who knows when I'll be able to actually buy it. Argh! C6903 should do everything I want on T-mobile, so maybe I'll purchase from a place with an okay return policy.
Thanks for the info!

Well, I couldn't hold out any longer - I ordered the C6903. I'm very curious if anyone else has successfully gotten AT&T LTE on that model number. I'll try it with my AT&T SIM as soon as the device arrives and report back. I'm not holding my breath, though.

It depends on your location. I live in NYC and could not get 4G LTE on my C6903 model, which is why I returned it. You can get LTE from AT&T on the C6903 model though. AT&T primarily uses 700 MHz but are in the process of expanding to 1700 MHz. There are a few places that AT&T has worked on where you can receive LTE, the OP's location must be one of them.
Those of you waiting for the C6906 model will only have to wait a couple of more days. The C6906 model is being released to Canada on the 15th of October. If you can somehow order one from an online retailer that ships internationally, you can get LTE capability from AT&T. Not to mention, the C6906 model is starting off at $699 CDN (I believe) from Bell, so that's definitely a better deal than the C6903 model from GSM Nation and what not.

C6906 is also available from Sony store canada.

Your phone doesn't show as being on LTE, so I think you're mistaken as Sony should display LTE in the signal bar if you're connected. If you're on the C6903, then it also can't be. AT&T holds no AWS spectrum in NYC to run LTE on, and the phone doesn't support 700 (Band 17). Nor do they have enough 850 (Band 5) to cannibalize for LTE and are likely still running HSPA+ on it with a GSM carrier.
I'd like to see a screenshot of the Engineering Screen to buy this one.

Calm down dude. Just questioning the results since it doesn't seem possible as AT&T doesn't seem to hold AWS spectrum there currently. Either AT&T is renting the spectrum from someone else or something else is going on because they don't have the licences to do what your phone seems to be suggesting. I find spectrum fascinating so it just seems interesting to see what's happening there.
I'd love to see an engineering screen just to see if I can gather more information about how they are doing it.

How to get T-Mobile network working on GT-N7000 galaxy note

Hello everyone. I been using the international galaxy note ever since it came out. Still using it here on T-Mobile edge network. I head that its possible that the unlocked galaxy note can also use T-Mobile 4g now. Can anyone please give me some more info. About it. Is it actually possible ? If it is how ?. Plz need some help. I'm paying for 4g but stuck with 2g on my lovely note.

T-mobile is "refarming" 1700 and 1900mHz frequencies, so as I understand it, 3G and H+ speeds should be available for the GT-N7000, and iPhone, in your area soon. I was assured it would be working while at the store today when I got a new SIM for mine. (Given that I was getting the SIM and service for the H+ speeds, I can't imagine the reps there would be misrepresenting what's available). I'm still only getting an E, but I may not have the right radio/modem firmware.
it has nothing to do with your radio or your firmware.... the radio for 1700 has not been successfully cracked yet so it is all up to tmobile... if they told you its on in your area and youre still getting edge its probably something you misunderstood or was told wrong... either way they are adding the 1900 freq which is in the international 7000. the key word there is adding. now tmo has stated they want it to be across the usa by the end of the year so take that how you may... so far they have added cities to the list that have been turned on to the 1900 freq... i believe you can find where has been and whats upcoming from either the tmo website a free call to 611, or a trip to a corporate store....
so they have heard right to a point... just in a few areas so far... soon to be more... we hope...
Just a "note" to say don't give up hope. I've been waiting forever and getting by with a combination of EDGE on my Note, or putting my SIM in a TMO GSIII to get HSPA+ there. Last week I bought an international Note II which has the same 1900 3G band as the Note 1. I was literally on the day where I'd have to decide whether to keep the Note 2, or return it and wait for the TMO version to get 3G. That very night, I got home and found EDGE totally gone. No data at all on the Note 2. As I was calling TMO to ask what was going on (and hoping beyond hope it was refarming) the TMO site serving my house flickered its refarmed 1900 3G on for a test. I couldn't believe it. It felt like Christmas!! I got speeds of over 7Mbps on my first tests. I sat there running speed tests instead of going to sleep lol. Alas, the 3G was gone by morning and for a while even EDGE was gone, but it came back later in the day. That was Monday. Since then (now Thursday), 1900 3G has been going on and off on more sites around my area. It's working fairly well at my work right now, but comes and goes now and then. They are obviously preparing my area for a proper switchover which, given the amount of testing they are doing, will hopefully be soon. I've gotten 12Mbps on a couple of daytime speed tests! Anyway, the fact that it seems imminent for my area, pretty much cemented my decision to keep the International Note 2 GT-N7100. I guess the moral of the story is, TMO are definitely working on it! I'm in the Chicago north west suburbs BTW.

R800at has 3G on T-Mobile.

I have an unlocked R800at on T-Mobile's network, and have 3G in my area. Just guessing here, but this is probably because of T-Mobile's recent move to upgrade all their towers to support unlocked IPhones.

Sometime towards the last half of last year T-Mobile starting converting its 2G frequency to AT&T 3G compatible. This was done to accomodate the 1 million+ Iphones that T-Mobile has on their network. Plus they are doing this in hopes that people will bring their own AT&T unlocked phone to their service.
Due to this I plan on buying a AT&T PLAY and unlocking it for T-Mobile as in my area they just switched the 2G to AT&T compatible 3G.

You need to have the R800at and sim unlock it. It will not work on the R800i which do not support the US 3G frequencies. You also need to check to see if T-Mobile have 1900Mhz band supported for your location.

Try doing this:
Settings -> More -> Mobile networks -> Network operators, let it search for networks. If there is 1900MHz support in your area, you will see 3G T-Mobile
Did you do any changes to your build.prop for T-Mobile or add the APN settings for T-Mobile? I added the T-Mobile settings then hit save, but it didnt stick...ideas?
I can't remember the options exactly, but if you are using stock rom, just go to the first choice, Xperia settings or something, then select download internet settings, it should automatically assign the correct apn.
Once you get custom roms they tend to automatically have apn included.
As to why the APN don't save I'm not sure.

anyone got LTE to work on international s4 with att?
Tmobiles att for instance gets up to 38mbit download and over 20mbit upload in my area. But the cell reception in some specific areas has not improved in the last three years, thus considering staying with att, despite tmobile much better plans which they said to have launched in march.

Unlocked on T-Mobile

There seems to be some confusion about this phone working on T-Mobile 4g
YES THE PHONE WORKS!! however if you want 4g you need to be in a 1900 refarmed area and yes LTE works as well.
I live in Katy, Texas which is a suburb of Houston which is a 1900 refarmed area. Phone works perfectly fine. I didn't have to do any set up. Basically just like a tmo phone. I haven't noticed LTE yet. It switches from 3g to H. Runs just as fast as my nexus 4 and one s. Just thought I would drop this info, hopefully it helped someone.

I would like to confirm that the Unlocked 32GB HTC One works perfectly in Phoenix, AZ as well. We're another 1900MHz refarm, and I've spotted LTE in some areas as well. Don't be afraid to grab this from HTC rather than dealing with T-Mobile's shinanigans and bloatware.
I'm in the boston area, which is also refarmed. pretty much same experience as op. all the set up was automatic.
the only thing different is indoors, sitting at my desk which is 3 feet from the window, my phone switches between E, 3g, and H every few minutes like it cant get a stable connection.
havent gone outdoors yet.
Speedtest during H connection was: 104ms ping, 5.13Mbps down, 2.07Mbps up
this is comparable to my g2 speedtests

Working faster than my galaxy nexus around chicagoland, only problem is that I cant no longer tether even with the mod UAstring but If I switch back to the galaxy nexus everything works fine. We need to fix this issue ASAP
I live in SD, our refarm is kind of strange and this is the first time I've ever used it(only used primarily tmobile phones for last 10 years). The one thing I will say is that it in SD it seems every other tower has been refarmed, as I will keep going in and out of HSPA. This was seen as I was driving around on the freeway(not texting but checking service). Another thing is that I can be on a tower that has been refarmed, go into a building, and have it revert to edge from HSPA outside. And then when I take a couple steps outside the building it works again.
Also I was wondering if anyone else has handcut their sim to microsim? I'm hoping that may be the issue, and if I get an official tmobile microsim it will be fine. Otherwise the refarm is superb when it works, getting about 10 Mbps down with my handcut(from diagram) sim

If I'm not mistaking it's 1700/1900/LTE out of the box the unlocked one doesn't have 1700 enabled. I'm sure a dev will eventually get it done. If you want 3g/4g data then you need to be in a 1900 refarmed area.

Just gonna stay on the safe said and get it from the T-MO store tomorrow. Is there any advantage to get the 32gb unlocked version, except for no bloatware? Any advantage if I travel internationally?

The ATT/dev ones are 850/1900/2100MHz UMTS; band 4 (AWS) is the only UMTS band that uses 1700MHz at all.
I wouldn't count on getting AWS enabled on the dev version. It is very likely that the allowed bands are configured in hardware as has generally been the case on MDM9x15 devices.

The unlocked version is strictly worse from a 3G standpoint but might have a couple of extra LTE frequencies (not 100% sure on that one, tmo version definitely is bands 4/17 only). AFAIK the only other place AWS is at all likely to matter is Canada, but assuming tmo will unlock your One there is no frequency advantage to getting the unlocked version from HTC--I think it's $5 cheaper.
If you travel internationally then that's a huge advantage.. but I'm sure tmobile will unlock your phone, if you ask. I purchased the unlocked version because I didn't wanna deal with my uncle (account holder) nor tmobile. Plus there wasnt any information about tmobiles release at the time, I so I hopped on the unlocked version.

I have the HTC 64GB Developer Edition here in Jacksonville Florida but I only get EDGE on T-Mobile Network I dont know what frequency they are using here in Jacksonville, they could be on 1700Mhz My brothers T-Mobile Galaxy S3 says UMTS-3 and he is getting 4G Speeds.

Just the way non T-Mobile phones work in San Diego. I have the same exact issues with my one x. Compared to T-Mobile phones the data connection is extremely unreliable constantly switching and dropping ESPECIALLY inside. Same thing with my wife's unlocked iPhone on T-Mobile.

Same Here I come from AT&T and I dont like them, I bought this phone to use it with T-Mobile, but I really had it with this HTC One 64GB Developer Edition, HTC should of included AWS 1700mhz on this phone for being such a premium phone with a high price... I'm having the same issue with T-Mobiles Refarm @ 1900mhz keeps dropping from H to EDGE, and I just spoke to my Buddy that works for T-Mobile and there LTE will be on AWS 1700MHZ... I'm shipping this phone back to HTC, I was thinking of buying T-Mobiles HTC One Branded phone that includes the AWS 1700mhz Band, but I don't like the fact that its only a 32GB. I'm going to miss this phone. Ohh well S4 is around the corner maybe I could give Sammy a shot.

4G/LTE

Just got my phone in US....Was able to get Saturday Delivery. Anyways, the phone is awesome! My phone shows a 4G icon is that the same as LTE? I know in the Xperia ZL there was an LTE icon. Thanks.

Do a speed test, someone on Android Central forums shows 4G on At&t and is getting 23+ down so it's LTE

4G is the same as LTE. It's just how this phone decides to display it

I live in Europe, phone shows LTE when I'm using it. It's also my first LTE phone so I'm blown away atm...
4G is LTE..
Sent from my Xperia Z2
Ive had mine on t-mobile doing speed test and I'm getting 30+ down while getting average 11 mb/s up. The phone shows 4g but that is lte speeds.
This thread is pretty funny
Many have already stated the simple fact that by name '4g and LTE' are interchangeable..
They are of the same radio.
When I had my Z2 it was running UK firmware, it displayed 4G icon on my phone on AT&T network. When I flashed the phone with Euro Unbranded firmware , LTE icon got displayed.
It just depends on the firmware customization, so either way you are getting LTE speed but the icon displays different depending on the firmware installed
