Par or above par at the most. Normal ppl including me averages 3-5h screen on time. I thought ZL averages like 4h?! Don't expect a huge improvement.

I get about 20-24 hours with 4 hours screen on time with power saver and Qualcomm battery guru. "non stop screen on time" is about 5-6 hours. Completely stock, that is.

I used HTC One X, Nexus 4, Xperia Z. I am now on HTC One and it has the best battery life, compared to those three.

Another one of these threads... Hmm
I feel the battery life is terrible, stock wise at least.
For me 4.2.2 1 day at most (20 hours) , latest charge with normal use 8 hours WiFi rest of time 3g 4 hours screen on, dead battery.
Did once have ViperRom, got 38 from the full charge.
I feel the the HTC one battery life is poor, my Note1 will last 2 days..

Agreed it is pretty poor..
I get about 4 hours screen on time.
My note 2 gives me like 8 or more.
That being said, it is an amazing phone otherwise. I just traded an Xperia z for it and it was the best trade ever. The z was absolute garbage. What was Sony thinking using that bad of a screen?

For me the battery is very good.
I always have wi-fi and data on and with my regular usage I get about 2 days (this includes about 2 hours screen on).
You get around a day easily if you have 4 hours of usage.
4g signal and screen brightness can alter these numbers of course.
PS Υοu can't possibly compare the One's battery to the Note.

Still on XWKI4

XWKI4 still has high battery usage with Android OS.
Battery doesnt last 3 days! :/
1 day is enough for me with my usage. But 3 days? Why do u buy a galaxy s 2 for anyway?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Man, 3 days is not enough???? Have you ever had a smartphone with 3G before?????
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Haha... That to with a 4.3in screen. I get a good 24 hours of Usage + standby. More than enough in my eyes for a smartphone.
I'm on XWKI4, easily get 2 days use with data, bluetooth and wifi always on, with light/moderate use... fantastic rom!
On your question, I would answer with another question: what phone you had before?
However, my battery lasts three days and several hours with WiFi active 3G, some music, some movee.
Without 3G and WiFi, just calling and being called (no 3g, no wifi, just some photo) today (6 days 20 hours) i have 40% battery........and i have to say OMFG !!! i love this phone!!!
Original ROM XWKI4, 2.3.4
PS: before i had HD2 ) owners know what I mean, but still can not let go of him, this phone also has its advantages beyond the battery.
this is a sarcastic thread surely?
lol made me laugh, I suppose any rom which doesn't give you 3 days with 7 hours screen on time is crap.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
ok ok i get it... i just commented that android os is highest consuming thing
Buy a Dock
It's not about Android OS, it's about overpowered smartphones. Battery technology simply doesn't keep the pace of the hungry for power.
I used an iPhone 3G in 2009 for months and the battery life was a ****ing piece of ****. I remember people saying at the time: "Apple needs a phone that lasts at least a full time work day." Then my Moto Milestone and Nexus One lasted one day and I was very happy.
Now my SGS2 its almost 50% at midnight with a lot of use and I'm VERY satisfied with it.
My solution for you? Buy a charging dock, put it next to your bed and never think its a problem to leave the phone there when you're going to sleep. That's a WIN for me.
I don't use cables at all, principally for charging.
thanks for the tip

Nexus 4 Battery Life

Hey Guys,
A bunch of people are complaining about the battery life on Nexus 4. I've been waited for a couple days since I got the device, to have enough confident about the battery before I make any post here. Yes, the phone battery drain pretty fast on the first few cycles. After a bunch more charges later, let me tell this, the battery life did get significantly better. It lasted about 10-15 hr depends on the load of the usage.
Here is my typical day, off the charge at 100% in the morning, listen to a few songs, checking emails, and messages while getting ready for school. About an 30mn to 1hr of internet browser and youtube videos while on the bus. By 1-2pm the battery drop the about 70-80%. I put the phone in silent mood til i'm done with all my classes. On the way back home on the bus, I listened to a bunch of music, web browsing, maybe a few phone calls, texts or games.
Compare to my old phone, Samsung Galaxy S2 T989, im impressed with the Nexus 4 battery life. My Galaxy S2 battery always die on the bus coming back home. What I'm trying to get at: if you're a light to medium user like me, then get this phone. I was hesitate at first because I always have bad experience with android battery life. But Google seem to get its OS right with this nexus device, mainly because the battery drain minimum while in sleeping mood.
Can you post your Nexus 4 battery performance screenshot if you have been using the phone for more than a few days ?
Is there supposed to be a question being asked? Or a statement as this is in the Q&A forum.
I agree with you on many points. People need to wait at least 5 to 7 days for the battery charge to fully kick in. The first days mean absolutely nothing as it is still being aligned plus the user is still installing apps and setting up their phone.
There are some notable problems in the default kernel that uses more battery Usage than normal too.

From full battery to this overnight + breakfast usage. Rasbean + Matr1x v3.0. Never seen anything like it. Coming from the GN, this phone is a different dimension altogether. On any aspect..
Had phone for 5 days. Drained phone to 10% then fully charged. Moderate to light use made it through a day.
Stock rooted + Franco Kernel.

Depends on how much screen time you got, which you didn't show us.
The trick is to be careful about using mobile data when signal is bad, I switch to WiFi when home to avoid unnecessary battery drain.

What is this obsession for battery life, it lasts me well through the day with moderate/heavy use. I charge it at night (if needed) and unless you are homeleless this shouldn`t be a problem. It`s a great phone and i enjoy using it.

I thought the same until my N4 actually arrived, it seems battery life is abysmal compared to my Optimus 2x which didnt have anything really spectacular in regards to battery size. On my O2x I could get 1.5 - 2.5 days depending on use, hitting atleast 1 .5 which was good and acceptable for me (I can charge at night anyways) however my N4 doesnt even reach 13 hours on similar usage!.
I am quite a light users of smartphones however I do like to have a power phone when it comes to using it on the basis of smoothness and capabilities if I need to say do work on my phone, I rarely play games though. Main usage is 2 email accounts on poll 1 hour steps, a third account that is an exchange server and polls in 30 minute steps and thats about it with some brief browsing and a handful of texts (been a quite time since I got my N4), this is less usage than my O2x and yet it still performs alot worse!
I was hoping of staying with stock as I was expecting it to finally be good, comparing it to LG stock attempts it is but battery life isnt . I will be trying the combo Vangelis13 mentioned, raspbean and matr1x kernel as that seems like a great mix however Parandroid has been on the table and it seems like alot of being are getting good results so I will try it soon .
If I can get more than a day of usage I would be really happy, if I was playing games or doing really heavy tasks I wouldnt expect it to last but right now it is doing pretty much nothing and dieing far to fast!.
One thing I've noticed since coming to N4 from S2 is that phone calls drain battery much more significantly on the N4. I could make an hour long call on my S2 and it would use no more than a couple of percent battery but the N4 used 15% for an hour long phone call the other night.
If I didn't own a nexus 4 and came to this thread to find out about it's battery life I would expect it to be good.
Point is you guys are misinforming everyone. The battery is mediocre and that's it.
It won't last a full day if you use it constantly and I do need two charges / day many times.
Let me put it this way, you will only get roughly 3 hours of screen time on stock everything. If that is good for you then it's will have good battery life, if not then you will say it's got poor battery life.

you are perfectly right.
I come from an iPhone 4s, which I changed because the battery life wasn´t that great and I thought it was time to try something new.
Got the N4 last friday and played around with it during the weekend.
Monday, tuesday and wednesday this week... none of these days I´ve been able to come back home with the phone still on.
I wake up at 7.30am and I usually am back home at 6pm.
In my opinion, and honestly should be in everyone´s opinion, 10 hours of battery life are unacceptable, whatever the usage is (considering that 7.30 of those 10 hours I was at work)
I have till friday this week to return it, which is a pity because the phone is great
i get 5-6 hours sot..
rom is omnirom 5.1.1 hellscore kernel b73.
100mv undervoltage hellsactive governer.
think 7 would be possible if google services would not take a quarter of the battery.
the screen is not taking that much battery as one would think.
think most issues with battery life come from fake original battery replacements.
had 3-4 sot using "original" battery. but after replacing with real genuine from official lg spare parts shop 5-6...

To all those with lousy battery times!

I have a year old Note and have been getting progressively lower battery times, I have tried every possible trick and several ROMS. Recently was getting as low as 12hrs. I have had a cheap replacement battery (non Samsung) which was not used often. Recently when I used it I noticed about the same battery life as the original. I purchased a new Samsung battery and now I am getting over 40hrs on one charge with moderate use and sync on with no other changes.
My messge is : change your battery at least every 8-10 months, you will be astonished as I was. One of the great features of the Note is the ease of change of battery, use it!
Yep same for new battery and it's like I have a new phone. Without changing anything my screen on time almost double.

I've been doing that for over a decade now but this time i bight a hyperion aftermarket.
I bought two actually. I keep one in my car. This way I'm guaranteed a full day's worth of heavy usage.
Also got the dock + second battery charger.
I'll never get a mobile without the ability to replace the battery.
Screw the new HTC devices.

Non removable battery is a deal breaker - your phone will be useless after 12-24 months depending on the charge cycle.

i don't have the time to order a new battery online or look for it in stores so simply i swap out the kernel for the rom i'm using and with the current one i get about 20hrs which isn't much compared to when i got it a couple months ago and worse yet if you have on hsdpa+ whole day battery life drops to about 2/3
After one year (for me ten months) the note 1 needs a new battery. Decreasing bat life, random restarts, and screen flickering are all indicators. I thought i had runaway process issue or hardware problem. But i finally ordered an ankor battery from Amazon and my unit is fine andback to 20hrs.
I thought this was settled back in Nov.
Now just waiting for my jb!

Do not buy a spare the time time as the phone if you are not going to use it until the original goes as it will deteriorate from the day it's made, even with out use.

I don't know if this is still necessary nowadays, but I always use the battery till it's about to turn off the phone. My batteries always have a pretty good lifetime, so I imagine that helps.

This is a common misconception that if you leave the battery to almost deplete every time it will be better for it in he long run. I have done a lot of research on this topic for laptops and smartphones. Essentially they use the same type of battery technology which does not suffer from memory effect, but if you stress the battery a lot (letting it deplete before you charge it again or almost deplete below 5%) than it will damage it more quickly.
The optimal way of charging your battery is:
1) After the first cycles just charge it whenever you want (even it is at 70% and you are at work, you can plug it to get another 10% and then unplug and use)
2) Don't let it deplete, it will stress the battery too much and damage it in the long run
3) Every 30 cycles, you can let it discharge to below 5% and let it recharge until 100%
I have done this on my PC which still has its battery at above 80% after almost 3 years, and to some extent on my Note, but as I can't always foresee how things will play out I sometimes need to use to until the last drop of energy .
Hope this info helps.

That is definitely battery drain. Better post a screen of the battery your apps are using...
With a brand new battery, you cannot achieve much more than 5 hours of screen on time with general usage.
You can indeed get much more than that when watching video, but that is the only scenario where that is possible (or maybe staring at a black picture for hours).
So people saying that they get 10 to 12 hours of screen on time are really getting 10 to 12 hours of uptime, meaning the phone is turned on but is sleeping most of the time, with maybe 2 to 3 hours of screen on time.
That's lousy battery life, and those people should buy a new battery.

[Q] Battery life compared to capacity?

I'm interested in getting the phone, but there was something that really caught my eye. I was wondering why a phone like this, with 3000mah, gets only a little bit more battery life in stats compared to other phones with lower capacities, like the nexus 5, with only 2300mah but around the same battery life.
You're kidding right? G2 is well known to have the best battery out there.

Not sure where you are seeing that the G2 gets just a little bit better battery life than the Nexus 5, but if you look at several reviews that are out there, specifically ones where they do standardized battery run down tests, you will see that the G2's battery life is excellent in comparison to pretty much any other phone that are out there. On engadget for example, the G2 lasted 16 hours on their battery run down test while the Nexus 5 only lasted 7 hours and 20 minutes on the same test. Also in their review of the G2, the phone easily lasted 20 hours under 'heavy' usage while they only got 12 hours on the N5 with 'normal' usage.

Your Galaxy S3 battery capacity after three years

Hey Folks,
It's been more than three years since the phone was released. Many would have replaced the battery similar to stock or higher capacities.
Let's share the battery life and usage of our phones. I have attached snapshots of my phone from GSAM battery monitor app. I have installed a 4400mAh Anker extended battery.
Please share yours. Cheers. :good:
Hi! Mi S3 has three years as well. You can see the date that it was built with the app Phone Info-Samsung- in the playstore. Mine it has a stock ROM, and with heavy usage (games, chrome and youtube) (didn't change the battery since got the phone), it gives 3h and 30 min screen on time. Very well to a phone that have three years. Greetings.
Stock battery 2 years plus
Offline Manga reading 5Hrs SOT
Online browsing 2~4hrs
Online streaming 2~4hrs
Gaming 2~3hrs
:C
3 1/2 years
Using Lollipop it drains in 4 hours of moderate using.
Using KitKat I can use the phone for 6 hours of moderate using.
I have been using my S3 since 1 year and 10 months and can go for 6-7 hrs with heavy usage
I bought my S3 in Sept 2013 so it has been close to 2yrs now and I have switched to Zero lemon which is 7000 maH monster..it lasts me for 3 days easily with super heavy usage...if I keep it in stand by it can last me for 20+ days without any issues...
I'm still using the stock battery. I've another stock battery as spare.
So far it working well with average of 7-8 hrs battery life with light usage.
Recently, I just use the Battery Repair app to repair some bad cells in the battery. Hopefully it will prolong the battery life a bit more.

My S3 is now my second phone, so fairly light usage. Stock battery, 3 years 2 months old. Flashed Belokta Note 4 rom 5.1, Boeffla kernel 7.9. Greenify and Amplify. Able to achieve 2.5 days off the charger and 1 hour 15 mins SOT. Wi-Fi whenever possible. Not bad for a 3 year old battery and great work for the developers.
