Screen? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I know this screen is full HD and all but for some reason just like my nexus 7 which is 1080, pictures on Facebook and instagram seem blotchy, grainy and not in high quality, and videos on YouTube even on HD don't seem truly clear like HD but when I had my HTC one I never had this problem. This isn't a defect my phone is fine, I've just seen this on a few high end phones/tablets but not on most.

Pictures on websites are the same also. This is frustrating.

Absolutely awesome screen on my phone. Never noticed any defects in visuals on Youtube.
FB and Instagram are not my idea of fun so I don't have accounts for them. I suggest you take a picture side-by-side with a phone that doesn't have the problem and post them up here. Someone could then perhaps load up the same page as you and compare.
Can you link a Youtube vid you've been seeing this problem with?
Go in where you got the phone and show them the problem and see if they can duplicate it on their G2.
Good luck

Look how awful that looks. I can assure you whoever took that picture after a major golf tournament wasn't using a cheap or bad camera. All pictures look like that, on social media sites and on imgur and on any site, app.

But it didn't do that on my HTC one, everything looked amazing. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of this good of a screen?

Yeah it is that specific picture which is a low quality cell phone picture. I just looked myself and guess what its gonna look the same on the htc one. Look at the pictures right below that on the espn facebook page.

Panorama

Hey guys I was wondering if any of you have tried the Panorama app? I've got it running on my phone bu it doesn't save pictures it would be cool to get it working, could it be that I'm using the xplay camera mod? Maybe it only works with stock camera?
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
You got it working? How? I downloaded it but wouldnt even install
Sent from my R800x using XDA App
You need to get the fix. Zip from x10 section copy the files from the two folders from the zip to your phone then reboot then install the apk, the only thing is that it won't take the picture on the play but it seems to work for just about everything else I'm starting to think that maybe this phone is just a big waste of money
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
The phone has potential its better than my droid and the iphone too....but it sucks to me that i cant root yet ...i like this phone alot but sony messed up this a S.E phone and I looks nothink like the arc or the x10 at least not my r800x its just an android with a controller doesnt look like is from sony
Sent from my R800x using XDA Apps
Yea man that sucks that it can't be rooted, what the hell is up with that? Why would they do that? It makes no sense at all cause after all it is your phone you should be able to do whatever you want, warranty issues are whatever to them they get the phones dirt cheap wholesale

google only takes root off end users for there own security
Has anyone gotten the Panorama app to work properly at all? Or is it just not compatible with our phones at all, could it be that the camera isn't high enough resolution? X10 has 8mp camera same with arc I think

But noone takes root off personal computers. It's up to the end user to do so or not. Smartphones are personal computers who happen to be able to call. Why should we not have control of them such as we do with the computers we have bought?
I bought Photaf Pro. It is very impressive. Stitches the images together and can barely notice. It uses sensors to take the pics so that the images are at the same height and angle and set the picture quality to high and it is unreal. I will upload an example pic

I have a denon avr 2112 that's hooked up to my router. I also have an app from the market to use many phone for remote see pic 1. Anyways I had my avr on and was going through my photos on my phone and saw a screen with arrows pointing opposite directions. So I clicked it and sent it on my 52" via my avr. I'm going to see if I can send others like video the same way. Here is what shows up on the screen 2nd pic and third on my tv via my avr. Not sorry about the mess by my tv. Just got my RMA device today and noticed that the camera lens opening seems bigger on the the old device vs. the new one. Take a look and let me know what you think.

No difference in the aperture. The difference is just in the blank black area. If you look, your first device has a blank area that isn't even even. I wouldn't worry about it.

Post Pictures You've Taken With Your AT&T Note 3

I love 99% of this phone but it is horrible with low light photos compared to my Note 2. I wish Samsung would've included the "night shot" option with the Note 3 as it did with the Note 2. Seems like it allowed for better night time shots.

Most of them look really blurry and smeared. I was standing completely still on all of them. I know other moving objects will blur but I don't recall them being that bad with the Note 2. Then again mine might not be as bad compared to others.
