LG G2 - F320k (Korean) fail in UK England - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am wondering if anyone else is having the same issue as I am ?
I purchased the F320k model from Negri Electronics who assured me it would work here in England which judging by the frequencies should.
I received the handset today and when I turn it on I get an error message and also no UK sim will work ? The phone detects networks but said to insert a new SIM. I am thinking I must be doing something wrong surely ?
Any help would be great. I have attached some pics of model and the error message.

It would appear so far I am the only English person with this model

First, have you try to go to customer service and return SIM card for newer one?

Yes. I have tried several Sims from various networks and same message. I got another pay and go SIM today and still fail.
Thanks for suggesting something though. Nice to see someone looked at my issue.

Hmm, well I got mine (F320K) from Negri about a week ago.
Because it takes a micro sim (rather than regular size used in my old SII), I got a replacement from my carrier.
Once I installed that and had it registered, all was good.
The contacts on the new sim did look different from the old one, whether that makes any difference I don't know. Certainly didn't get the message you got - perhaps yours was faulty.
Only prob I've got is getting rid of the Korean bloat...

Lol.... How annoying. Glad I sent it back now as Negri have been rubbish. Sent so many emails asking for help and got nothing. It was only when I threatened them with legal action they replied with "we are looking into this issue" by then it was 4 days too late so have sent it back as not happy to deal with them again plus as you said I may have had a dud.
Did you get the carrier splash screen of Olleh on start up ?

Nexus 4 in Japan

I just received my N4 in Japan. Currently I am using NTT DoCoMo for my service provider, but currently I cannot find an APN that will allow me to use data. I have tried using mopera.net and spmode.ne.jp as well as a bunch of other random APNs. Has anybody gotten one to work? Or has anyone had any luck with a different network such as kddi au or softbank?
Thank you for any help.

Can u ask your network provider to send the settings to your phone? That might be quicker than waiting for a reply.

Docomo are kinda assholes and don't let non-Docomo IMEI whitelisted phones onto their standard data plans, and they will charge you a decent sized fee for using a "Non-Docomo phone". So SPMode is out, if that's what you use. However if you add the Mopera plan to your data plan(costs about 300 yen a month), you can use the Mopera settings that are in your phone already.
To enable all this in English, just call their foreign-language customer service number. In Japan, it's toll free, 0120005250.
I got to learn all about this when I bought a Galaxy S2 in Taiwan a year or so ago. :crying:
So what do I need to do to get my nexus 4 to work in Japan? I will be there for the next few years
I'm going to my carrier today so I will let you know if I can get the data connection to work.
Edit: Just got my phone working on DoCoMo. All I had to do was have them enable Mopera U for an extra 200 yen a month.

So I'm in the navy and just picked up a nexus 4 while on leave. When I get back to Japan can I just walk into au and get a Sim card? Or is Docomo the only way to go?
I'm sorry, but I can only personally confirm that DoCoMo works. I would imagine that if you talk to someone at AU they will be able to help you out.

Ok...so I just got back to Japan from a few weeks of leave in the states, where I pickedup my Nexus 4.
I went to Docomo and they said they do not sell SIM cards by themselves, and told me I would have to buy a cell phone from them and then take the SIM card out. Are they just selling me some **** or is this true?

I have things shipped to my parents address in the US and they just rebox it and lie on the customs forms about it having a lithium battery. I've never once had a problem doing this in the year I've been here in Japan.

Did you tell them you have a Non-DoCoMo phone? Got my N4 today and realized the SPMode APN did not work. I called DoCoMo and he asked me if I have a Non-DoCoMo, I said yes he said the flat rate will raise from ¥5,460 to ¥8,190...it is not pro-rated so I will wait till march first. If I say I have a DoCoMo phone they will know from the IMEI that it is not? Do they even check? Thanks

Help! Anyone in Los Angeles area with a Nexus 4 (16gb) Not on T-Mobile

First off, not sure if this is in the right section but if its not please mods feel free to move. Also if this in anyway violates forum rules please remove.
With that said, as the title implies I need help from someone that fits the description of the title. Why? Long story, but I'll try summarizing it.
I bought a use nexus, everything works and its in perfect condition. Except that its blocked from T-Mobile. I hadn't notice this as I just recently tried activating it with them. before that I was with AT&T and everything worked perfectly. So what do I need? I would like to find someone who is willing to swap phones (same model). That only needs it for AT&T (or straight talk, etc). Like stated, phone is in perfect condition except a small scratch near the sim slot, Unlock boot loader, running Carbon ( I could put it back to stock). So please if you're willing to help me out PM me and we could work something out. Thanks.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
If its blocked from T-Mobile it was stolen and the IMEI was blacklisted. Irreversible, unless you want to illegally change the IMEI
Google is your friend there
Sent from my Nexus 4 @1.67 GHz on Stock 4.2.2
Nice information. So is there anyway to check a used phone if it is in any blacklist?
What do mean "it's blocked by Tmobile?"
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
As in bad IMEI number, up till yesterday I had no idea T-Mobile blocked phones. My guess is that the guy who sold it to me was doing fraud, report it lost so he could get another one. Reason being is that a few days later he hit me up asking me if I wanted another one of course I had no need for it so I just disregard his message...
Anyhow, if anyone is willing to do an swap. Let me know and we could work something out.
It works perfectly for at&t or any other carrier except T-Mobile :/

My guess is no, unless you call T-Mobile and ask em about the IMEI number. So if you're planning on purchasing a use T-Mobile phone call first!
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Stolen/fraud and ATT will likely block the phone soon since they started sharing their blacklist database last year.
I feel for you. I also appreciate the full disclosure. But, I think that you're most likely stuck with it. After all this is a forum full of nexus owners so you'd be hard pressed to get a someone to even swap their nexus that's on the network of their choosing for one with a questionable esn. Perhaps if you sweetened the pot(throw in some $) you'd have better luck.
With that out the way... why didn't you demand a refund from the seller? Or at least swapped for the phone he text to try to sell you? Did you even tell the seller about the fact you couldn't activate the phone?

[Guide] At&t Note 3 Sim Unlock

I bought two At&t Note 3s yesterday. One for me and one for a friend. I'm on At&t and my friend is on MetroPCS. I called At&t for an unlock and they couldnt get me a code, even though one was paid in full price and "qualified" to get unlocked according to them. So this is how I got the phones unlocked.
Reminder: I'm not responsible for any damage you may do to your phone. Proceed at your own risk!
Root is Required!
1. To root your At&t Note 3 follow this guide (Thank You designgears!)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474422
2. You will need to allow unknown sources to be installed.
Settings>General>Security>Unknown Sources (Make sure its checked)
3. Install Chainfire's RegionLock Away App from Google Play Store (and buy him a beer :highfive or download it from here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470551
4. Tap "Region Unlock" in the app
5. Let it do its thing
6. Choose Reboot Later (Thats what I did at least)
7. Turn off the phone and try a non-At&t sim card.
I tried my old T-mobile sim in mine and it pulled up, and we just got back from the MetroPCS store and have his running on that.

I have an unlocked note 3 simply I went into the AT&T store where I live and said unlock it or I won't buy it and bam they did it. I have a simple pay as you go T-Mobile card popped it in, input the code and unlocked I was. I had to buy the phone outright so was costly but not at all risky. LTE showed up just fine on the T-Mobile network.

I asked at&t here about that since i bought one full price and they said, to call customer service. So did the next day and they "couldnt" give me the network code. I honestly dont care about an unlock as I'm on At&t.
The only difference is that you're phone wont be region unlocked. Sim unlock and region unlock are different.
Did you buy your phone full price/off contract?

Thats kinda of upsetting. I walked into the store and told them I wanted one full price and they were like "There's no 'full price', its just at&t next and you pay it off all at once if you want". I went online and showed them the option to do full price OR next, and they said they couldn't sell full price in the store. Didn't understand that because my s3 and note 3 were both full price at the store, Plus I've found deals with coupons online and they've matched it before! I hate when I go somewhere and I know more than the person working with me (I think he was just trying to get more commission off me.IDK). : They made me wait longer for the phone than I should've too. Guess my store here just sucks :rolleyes
Kudos to you. Wish that would've happened to me!

New possible purchase

Ok guys. I have an s4. Am in UK and an thinking of getting a note 3 on tesco mobile. How easy is it to unlock so I can use my 3 network sim. It was simple on s4. Same deal on note 3?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Simplest and easiest way is to get an unlock code either from the network provider you are with or as you are on three network. ... They are unlocking for free. There is a thread on that. .. check it out.
You ring up three from your three sim option 3,3,2,1 (something like that) and give them your imei number and within 7 days they will send you the unlock code.
Worked for me on a vodafone locked phone

was wondering if the app 'region lock away' would do the trick?
dont want to sign up for a contract if I cant unlock it myself
Like I said you can still get it unlocked by three. I got my Vodafone locked phone unlocked by three.

surely i would need to speak to tesco mobile if its locked to their network? not three?
or am i being stupid??
really need to get this sorted asap - gotta decide in about 30 mins if i am getting this phone

Buy the phone. ... You don't even have to open the box. ... The imei number is on the box (I would open just to make sure of everything) give the a call and if you don't get a code. ... Give the phone back or ask tesco to unlock or use one of these websites to get the code

They aren't doing it to be nice, it makes good business sense to make your phone accept a 3 sim so they can start taking money from you.
You can also get a Note3 unlocked for £7 in about 1hr on eBay
After all that. The phone was factory unlocked! Got it from carphone warehouse. £27 contract. Free handset. Working fine on my 3 sim. Thanks for your help guys!

Yeah CPW and P4U sell unlocked handsets with their contracts as they get them in direct rather than via a carrier.
