[Q] Questions for devs - unlocking the bootloader - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There is a bunch of threads about rooting, roms and recoveries in DEV section, but the truth is most Notes 3 out there are sold with a locked bootloader. I'd like to ask if there are any Note 3 devs that are looking into finding an exploit and coming up with a method to unlock bootloader on Note 3? Or if there are any devs, who would be willing to look into it?
I'm surprised no one has posed this question so far - this is gotta be priority for most people, given that locked bootloader renders Odin useless, prevents rooting, custom firmware flashing and just about anything else we could do, to improve our phones.

The search link isnt really helpful. It doesnt answer my question if there are any devs, who plan on developing for Note 3, who are currently looking into or would be willing to look into finding an exploit to unlock the bootloader.

[Q] Locked Bootloader Question

So apparently the S4's Bootloader is locked on AT&T. Does this mean I will not be able to use custom ROMS if I get this phone or do I just have to wait for an exploit to come out? I am trying to decide weather I should get the S4, HTC ONE, or the Optimus G Pro. I am leaning towards the S4 but if I can not get rid of the crap Samsung bloatware I don't want to get this phone.
So whats the verdict?
Look in the development section and read up..
The bootloader IS currently locked but it has been hacked.
The developer that hacked it says he is holding onto the method until the Verizon version launches.
So yes it's locked as of today but it should be unlockable in 3 or 4 weeks..
we do have root though, so until unlock is released we can debloat with ease

[Q] New To S5 - Quick Clarification Questions

Good afternoon all!
I'm well-aware of the "search before you post" mentality of this forum, and I apologize if these questions have been answered correctly elsewhere - I'm seeing conflicting information
I'm new to the Galaxy S5 (SM-G900V), moving from the Galaxy S3 (running Hyperdrive V16), and I'm hoping to root my phone to gain some of the features that I had previously (with the most important being unlocked tethering). However, I'm reading in different sources that it's safe to root/not safe to root, safe to unlock/not safe to unlock (and that there isn't even an unlocked bootloader for the Verizon variant), etc. I'm hoping to put these rumors to rest by asking the following questions simply:
Is it currently safe to root the SM-G900V variant of the Galaxy S5?
Is it currently safe (or possible) to unlock the bootloader for the SM-G900V variant of the Galaxy S5?
If the above are true, what is your favorite recommendation for a person who is interested in a stock, rooted, deodexed experience?
Thanks to all of you for your hard work developing, and for the information! :good:

Towel root will work on the SM G900V but the bootloader is still locked, so no custom recovery but SU and Titanium work fine

[Q] Rom Porting

Could it be possible to run an at&t Note 3 rom on a VZW Note 3 considering that they are both bootloader locked
Short answer: yes.
There are a few good tuts on how to do it. I'm not sure how up to date they are, but they should give you an idea on what to do.

Root for SM-G900F running on 5.0?

Heya. I was wondering that is there a method for root on the s5 on 5.0. (there must be) but i was wondering with locked bl? Its ok if its unlocked if i get a great how to guide how to unlock the bl. Model number up on the title. I have no idea of any unlocking or anything with samsung devices. This s5 is the only samsung device i have. And as i dont use it at all, i need root and (if i can) unlocked bootloader, so i can get it to some use. I have alot or well experience with unlocked bootloader/rooted xperias but samsung is a whole new world to me lol. The basics must be same but its still another world from sony. So ? Im too lazy to read any other rooting threads for the s5 so i just want quick and helpful answers thx!
I know about cf autoroot but i heard that its risky
Also i want android 4.x.x.! That is my main wish for my s5.
Yes it is possible, there are plenty of guides here

GT-i9515 Bootloader Unlocking and Custom Rom flashing

Hey guys,
a friend of mine has a Galaxy S4 GT-i9515 and wants to get a Custom Rom. I know how to flash the Rom on it and how to make a backup and and and. But the one thing i donĀ“t know is, how I can unlock the bootloader. It would be really nice if someone can show me a Thread or at least tell me how to do it. I searched for a Thread, but i could not find one for the GT-i9515, just for the other models and i dont want to do something wrong. Thats the reason I ask you
Thank you from now
I don't think there are any I9515 models with locked bootloaders.
Don't run any bootloader unlock apps on the phone as this will probably brick the phone.
