I've downloaded it! If Sony don't push an update by the end of the weekend, I'm gonna flash this! Had enough waiting for them! What a joke!

Downloaded via PC Companion
Well well, Sony do seem to be getting better at this update malarkey, don't they?
One major change noted: as mentioned elsewhere on the net (actually not sure where but I'm sure I did) 20mp images are now less noisy. This has a trickle down effect on over-sampled 8mp images which are also less noisy and sharper.
Basically, they've adjusted the automatic ISO, from what I can see. The attempted ISO in low light is now lower than it was before and much more managable for the sensor. Noise still seems present but the noise is smaller, meaning less of a hit on image sharpness.
After testing it continually against the Z, there's no doubt about it: this camera is a beast. The results I've got in low light, even before the update,... well, a Lumia would struggle to best it. - not a Lumia 1020, of course, that's just silly talk.

I am doing the exact same thing got all the files downloaded and just waiting to see if Sony start to push .534 to the UK on unbranded handsets.

Yesterday actualized appeared in PC Companion (Poland). During the update, there was an error. Smartphone died. It helped: Flashtool and file of the forum "[FTF]Xperia Z1 C6903 14.1.G.1.534 Firmware 1276-4314_R2A [Central Europe]". Everything works beautifully so far.

534 is now pushed to my phone!

Lol this always happens to me... I flash a different firmware and the UK version gets pushed 2-3 days later!! It was such a pain with the S3 but it seems much easier at least with this!

Just a quick question, but I'm guessing this is the latest update for the C6903. Might I ask if this is the unbranded one suitable for devices from the Netherlands?

I see I tested the ISO and took pictures from all the aperture that were available in the update before this one and notice no change in noise.

Updated 2 days ago, runs fine, but experienced now two sudden crashes and restarts.
At first crash yesterday all icons for basic phone functions were gone and all apps collected in folders were "unfoldered" in the apps screen.
Today I had a sudden restart after taking a 20 MB photo. This time only the basic phone apps were "unfoldered" in the apps screen.
Really wonder which glitch in the ROM this could be??

Highly disappointed with camera speed after testing S3 and note II

After playing with the S3 and note II camera at the store I'm highly disappointed with or shutter speed on this phone. There is no reason it cannot near instant when you push the button. Is this on Samsung's radar or will it not be fixed for over a year? Considering switching to the One when it congress or because a quick camera is necessary when your have young kids who don't sit still.

good for you,, you want a cookie what does complain get you nada dont like dont buy move on simple as that
On MEA rom I've noticed improvement in this case. Shutter is noticeably faster with this rom on my 9505.
my GT9500 camera is opening in less than 0.2 sec, focus done.... I am with MF3 FW, so I am sure camera issue(s) is (are) corrected starting from MEA FW. Now we receive MF8 release and may be some more "adjustment".
I bought this phone mostly for the camera! And I was very sad with the camera behavior at first tests.....(MDK original firmware)
Now happy man!

How fast is the shutter? I have to assume this camera shutter is a firmware software problem. The front facing camera is fine.

No question about Shutter (speed), it is immediate, no delay, even when focus is somewhere out. in the dark with flash ON it is less than half second, focus included.
It is much better than my old and not very obsolete SONY TX 7 camera.
I come from a 2011 SONY Xperia Kyno, was laggy at opening and very slow and unpredictable at shutter result.
Now I can say S4 is a new world. Sorry i can't compare with S3 cam but I am sure it is much better.
Note! I have a GT9500, not the same camera as the 9505 but speed should be the equal.

What was Samsung thinking? With 6.3 billion dollars worth of phones(retail that is) selling within the first month. If I was running that company I would SO look out for the little guy, the customer, they would be the first priority!! I would've made sure that the camera was functioning properly. Yeah, that's who I care about, when I'm in my jet or yacht, I'm thinking about the customer, yeah, they matter the most.

14.2.A.1.136 changes, bugs and experience with the new build.

Upgraded using Sony PCC yesterday, and must say that I like the new build very good. My phone is totally stock, unrooted, non branded version.
Overall the speed of the phone is a lot better. Especially in Hangouts and the launcher. No more waiting for two seconds after pressing the "home" button for icons to show.
Also battery is drastically better for me. Two hours screen time, an hour of talking, everything on sync as normal and still 70 % battery after 12 hours... Pretty impressive.
Still have black screen in Chrome on multitask, though. Annoying
Anyone else have experiences or bugs to share? I will try to sum it all up in this first post, making it easier to get an overview. I will mark the info I have been able to confirm with green color.

should gather all the info and post new features that we know. White Balance seems to be the only 1 I know of so far.
It appears they didn't fix the one bug where the text was not in line with the row layout when you are installing an apk but you can easily remedy by using xposed and installing fix sony 4.3 bug
The mic bug on whatsapp is still here...

I guess no. This might be a test build for the path towards stable Kitkat.
Certified doesnt always mean that it would be rolled.
I guess sony will go straight to 4.4KK...
It could be like last update: 14.2.A.1.114 (certified) ==> 14.2.A.1.124 (certified) ==> 14.2.A.1.136 certified and released.
So again: wait and drink a cup of tea
After releasing New Flagship Device they might release kitkat for Z range

Therefore, that it's only a minor number forward from the last fw (136), it won't be anything near kitkat!
Maybe a minor Bugfix or extended update from 136 but nothing major!
Wait until the buildnumber changes to 14.3.X. to guess when kitkat will arrive, just a hint
sent from the 1
Kitkat won't be out before Barcelona - that's 100% and this could go out, maybe it's just some regional patch.
But it's nothing big - that's obvious from build number.

That are mainly hardware issues and I really doubt it could be ever fixed...
Maybe they will succeed to make it better - like touchscreen sensitivity and yellow tint...
But that's not software - I'm 100% sure, why?
Because I'm using 290 firmware and it's working fantastic.
Without any touchscreen problems, with real white and black colors on screen and with great battery life...
Every single firmware I tried worked perfectly...534, 290 or 136 - without a single glitch.

Actually the Yellow tint is a known software, not hardware problem . The touchscreen problem is iffy, some say hardware while some say software. I actually would say the Z1 is almost flawless hardware wise, the problems start on the software side (yellow tint, camera, bluetooth, etc.)
It's good because that means Sony can fix most of the problems on the Z1. They already fixed yellow tint and bluetooth, now the touchscreen and camera optimization should happen soon.

I would say it's mix, it's a software, O.K but only on some devices which are using different screens and other parts (bluetooth chip and other parts).
It's impossible that you have problems and I don't have if we all have exactly the same hardware...
So the conclusion would be - we are both half right

[MOD] Torch boost! Full LED power when using your Z1 as a light source!

Hello guise,
This time I'll share with you something that @RyokoN found out. Please thank him here. I just made proper changes to the file he mentioned.
Someday I was killed by my friend N5 torch. It was so bright. Now I decided that I want my torch to be actually useful, just like his torch is. (we were trying to see details in a dark place to fix the window).
It may break your LED if you leave it on for some time. I'm not responsible for any damage. It actually made my back around the LED a bit warm after a few seconds in the extreme version!
Please be aware that it's not safe to test it on devices that are older than Xperia Z as LED's may vary hardware-side.
Anyway, enjoy
Extreme version - just torch
Medium version - just torch
Medium version - torch, camera, flash, notification LED <------------ RECOMMENDED!
Extreme version - torch, camera, flash, notification LED
Revert to stock Z1 torch
It's based on Z1 .108 firmware (4.4.4), but it WILL work on 4.3 roms. Can't say about older android versions - you tell me!
Please test and let me know how it went
It's significantly brighter now. At first it barely gave any light and now it's even brighter then the light in my room on a small distance, lol.
Confirmed working on:
Z 4.4.4
ZR
Z1 Compact
Z1s
Z1 4.3 4.4
Z2 4.4
Z3 4.4
That's what I'm talking about! FINALLY a flashlight that I can use! It works great!

I didn't, but it's using the same current like the flash in camera. It shouldn't harm your device if you won't use it for a long time like 15 minutes - just a guess.
As always, use it in your own risk.
Ok.. that's awesome!!!! It's amazing, even if you turn torch on when taking a photo it's brighter that flash itself.. I'm wondering
If there is any chance to boost flash at the same level with camera to get better pictures..

All the Google bloatware system apps are back!
May its just a stagefright 2.0 fix.

1,34GB big? No, I think it is a lot more since it is basically the whole Lollipop 5.1.1 ROM install size else they would just roll out a patch along the 0,2GB range.

Well I asked in the other thread about size and was told 1,35GB. That is roughly the same as the 5.1.1 update was. Seems quite big if they only are going to patch Starfright 2 and some minor tweaks/bug fixes. But then it can be that they fixed core bugs that needed updates to several system components or just that this is the final update for the Z1 line and thus they want to release a complete firmware.
It's over 1 GB because on XperiFirm you only get complete firmwares.
I bet the OTA notification on our phone will not download and install over 1 GB. We will only get the updated files. I don't know what size it will be. Never did an ota on my phone.

Ota is generally around 200 to 400 mb on my z2, when i got update over ota {5.1.1}
My impressions so far:
- Stagefright fully patched
- Sound seems to be louder using movies app and music app, but I don't know if it's a placebo.
- Video playback is smooth using hw+ in MX player, before that version the playback was hanging when you seek using hw+
- performance seems to be improved, since I don't have noticed any hang since the first boot
- Battery seems to be better, I only get 2% drop while testing AnTuTu and I get around 39k, I don't really care about this number since the general performance seems to be really good
- I am noticing a bug while using phone dial, It don't sound when I press the number keys.. But this is an insignificant detail for me
- Camera seems to be a little faster too
- I haven't noticed any new feature until now
- I'm from Brazil but I'm using Hong Kong firmware version which is fully compatible with the Brazil frequencies and seems to be debloated

What do you mean? Radio active bug?
Camera lag
Hi guys, I'm testing right now the DE prerooted zip with clean install. It's quite good it's not heating so much, I would say similar to KK. Battery drain.. can't say yet, probably still not as good as KK but good enough. The sound quality seems different (worse) to me, using really clean sounding MH1C and can hear a difference between KK and 5.1.1. But I can't stand the camera lag, found out that if I set low ISO (50, 100) there is no such lag but with higher ISOs deffinitely is and quite significant! Do have this lag too?
Waiting for the C6903.
Did anyone try any modes on the new firmware? Like 120 fps or 4K or call handling? How is the wifi? With latest firmware, mine had degraded. How is the wifi reception on the new firmware?
Hello any memory bugs?

I think radio active. I have this bug case using wifi for time long enough, then turn off or disconnect wifi, Data does not activate automatically as usual. I have to change my phone to Fly mode then back again.
