GPS - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am sure it is something obvious but my GPS symbol stays in the notification tray and never disapears. I have location services off and nothing checked in that settings. GPS is off as well from the settings bar.
Why would the GPS icon still show in the notification tray with all of these services turned off?

You're not referring to the E-911 location icon next to the wifi or cell strength indicator are you?

I don't think so. This is an icon that is next to Bluetooth. Like a target symbol, circle with a cross.
It isn't searching for GPS. The GPS ICON just never goes away from the notification tray.

JJ impression

After using the JJ for a week i have following observation. Appreciate others feedback if they are also having same problems.
1. The voice dial is not working if the flip is closed. (i have tried the enabling/disabling "turn off device if not used for ..." option but no luck, although it was working but once i pair a bluetooth headset it stop working. however from bluetooth headset it is working)
2. Cannot add multiple receipnt in SMS like PDA2K. i have to add one one by one, which is really a pain.
3. The wireless manager icon in the desktop is not showing the activity correctly. if i turn on the wifi the icon should turn green and during off the icon will accompnay a cross sign. Unfortunaly the icon always shows green.
i have tried both shipped and latest ROM update but no luck yet.
i am not sure if these are bugs. Please advice.

Turn on flight mode and you will see icon cross sign.
Manual's bug?
Have Fun.
yer that icon's greeness relates to all bt, phone and wifi comms so if any are active its green,
maybe if it alternated every seconds green, blue, cyan for phone, BT, wifi, for the actual active services it would make more sence. heyho
thanks for the clarifications. how about SMS and voice dialing issues? Are you guys facing same problem?
Yep i've got the same problem, use mine for email alot too, so its even more annoying when trying to send a new email to 10 people at once

Bluetooth icon..

I never see an icon anywhere on screen when Bluetooth is turned on. My only indicator is the top left led flashes blue. Is this normal on an O2 XDA Mini S?
Also is it normal that anytime an app starts Bluetooth because it's needed yet you have it Off, do you find that when you close that app, Bluetooth stays on? Very annoying

Notification blocks navigation software

Sometimes when I'm using TomTom, the phone loses its network connection (like when driving on the highway or through a tunnel) and displays a message stating that fact. This message doesn't dissappear when it reconnects, I have to click on "Dismiss". This isn't very optimal when you're driving and the navigation software doesn't update the location in the background with this message active. I already unchecked every notification in the control panel ("Sounds and notifications"), but the problem persists. Does anyone know a solution?

Wifi in notification panel has gone missing

The wifi signal in the notification panel of my stock A1 has gone missing, but wifi is connected and active. I cannot find how to get it back - any ideas?
Pull down your notifications
Pressed and hold the settings shortcut for few seconds
Go to settings>System>System UI Tuner>Status Bar> Wi-Fi

Location settings after Android 10 upgrade

I've noticed that holding down the location icon in the notifications drawer no longer leads to the menu where you can choose the level of location precision.
Also, the toggle used to turn on/off GPS and now it's a global location toggle. I preferred the old way of keeping on the network/wifi location all the time and only turning on GPS when I want to.
Is the setting still available somewhere?
Nope, this is how location services works on Android 10
