Mobile Network State Disconnected - AOKP [Release] Build 38

Just installed:
AOKP [Release] Build 38
was running:
[DEV][RC5] Team Nyx [Android 4.0.4] (ICSSGS)
After the install of AOKP when I boot into to system the Signal bars for the netowrk are Gray instead of Blue.
I look into System Settings --> About Phone. and it says "Mobile Network State Disconnected"
I try to surf the web, doesn't work.
I can make and receive phone calls.
Baseband version: I9000XXJVU
Kernal Version: 3.1.10_IctGlitch_V14-B6_I9K-T959D [email protected] #1
When I was running Team Nyx I didn't have this problem.
The Kernal version I was running with Team Nyx was [Kernel][ICS] Devil2_0.94 [24/05/12].
Will installing a different version of the Kernal fix it? or a different modem?
If so, which one should I try and where do I get it?
BTW, I am in Saskatchewan (Canada).
Thanks,
Chad
So I figured it out, for some reason I needed to enter in Access Point Name manually.
Not sure how this will work if I am roaming and happen to need to connect to a different network.
I don't know why this ROM wouldn't pick up this info its self and the other ROM's I have tried all worked. Anyone have some incite into this?
Thanks.

APC8750 and Firefox OS

I'm working around with APC8750 and hope can make some fun with Firefox OS
but I find out that it doesn't have the Android device tree (currently it run on Android 2.3) Any instructions to create
device tree for it ? I would like to build Firefox os for this device :victory:

[ROM | ZTE OPEN] FFOS 1.2 multilanguage - upgradeable through B2G nightlies

Hello again:
Build B2G for ZTE Open (inari) is tricky. People who want to develop applications with firefox's app-manager extension need to wait for ZTE upgrades or build their own system, which involves some permission modifications in boot.img and some tweaking to recover the bootanimation (lost on custom builds) among other things.
But hey, I've build a production pre-release of firefox os 1.2, and so far so good , and I like to share it with you via a flashable .zip file. Remember this file can be installed ONLY from CWM recovery, cause its not signed
features:
Version 1.2-prerelease (user release):
Build with blobs from version 1.1.0B02 (also known as 1.1.0B06) for ZTE Open (EU version)
Multilanguage - upgradeable through B2G nightlies (for both gecko & gaia)
Compatible with firefox app-manager (firefox 26+)
Includes su & busybox binaries ( busybox is linked with clear, grep, head, less, lsmod, more, nohup, pidof, ping, printf, pstree, sysctl, tail, telnetd, tftpd, traceroute, uname & usleep, for debugging via adb)
No carrier branding, just official firefox os branding
Fastboot enabled | ADB rooted
does *NOT* overwrite your recovery partition (you won't loose CWM recovery )
known bugs: isn't a bug but a security feature: "ADB should not be allowed to connect when device is locked in production builds"
FAQ:
I'm on version 1.x.y of 'some-carrier' build, Will this zip work in my case: Yes, only and just only if you have CWM installed.
There are a lot of strange files inside .zip, why ? this is because ZTE provides upgrades with radio & bootloader firmware (incompatibles between versions) If I want to support this ROM I need to make sure everyone have the same version ( the version that matches with the blobs )
Of course, YOUR WARRANTY IS VOID, and if you brick your phone , this is NOT MY FAULT
the link to the zip file: ul.to/2jwkruhj
Feedback is welcome

Runs great, I will use your build to test and mod some apps with the app-manager.
And please, stay at this good work (updates etc?!)
---edited:
Is your build a development build (of FFOS 1.2)? I cant't open certified apps with the app-manager (I have changed the pref "devtools.debugger.forbid-certified-apps" to false in my profile. But there is no certified app to see or to open in the app-manager. If not, can you - or somebody else - build this development build of FFOS 1.2?
ROM is pretty stable. I don't know if I'm the only one having this issue, but it looks like my data is connecting but then it isn't working. I'm connected to AT&T right now. When I pull down the notification bar, I see that I am getting an "H" (HSPA+) signal but if I try to open firefox and hit a site, it says I'm not connected to the internet.
I'm aware that this is in a prerelease state but do you know how I could fix this?
@martin_s5670: AFAIK there are three types of builds: engineer builds, userdebug builds and user builds. This is an user build, but you can also test privilegied (aka certified) apps on it. If you want to see your installed system apps I'm sorry but you can't do it in this way
@ryanolson7: could you please test your connection via a ping
adb shell
ping www.google.com
if you can't reach google, then I would appreciate if you paste somewhere your logcat in this way:
adb logcat | grep RIL > file.log
and just deactivate data, wait a few seconds, and activate it again.
---
I'll do some further tests on this branch (because some blobs may change from 1.0.1) but here in Spain both 3G & 2G data seems to works well, need to find a place with HSPA+.
Are you in the USA? I'm asking because this rom is based in open_eu release ( AFAIK they are the same except for radio capabilities )
Thanks for the feedback
Great Job!
Thanks! Tried and working. I have even received a update, and still working smooth!
can you tell me about the creating this ROM process?
I'm using US rom, I just want to use these blobs to make a custom builds, but flashing all the images bricked my phone. Can you explain me about the steps you did to package this ROM?

Hello, just logged in to press the thank button. I was looking to buy this phone and basically the decision relied on whether there was any unofficial mod for it or not. So thank you! Can't wait to try it when I'll buy the device!
Just a query, can the same ROM can be used for 4gb and 6gb models?

Just switch data network to Global, should be working fine.

An update has been available for a few days, no changelog here. Gonna test it tonight since I received the phone yesterday.

Edit: this does not install for some reason. I stuck on the previous version. PS someone can tell me if the audio chip has its drivers here?
Edit 2: I can confirm that LTE is working sometimes and 3g not at all with "global" selected. Italian networks. The only other thing i had misbehaving was the notification led, which was completely random.
@chenxingyu Do you mind posting your roomservice.xml?
are you working on cm13 in the future or is this project standing and your focus on cm14?
cm13 runs very good no force crash or reboot everything works perfect. but i have battery drain, get only 20 h standby and max 4h screen on time.
best regards

Recently I'm focus on CM14. Almost works now.
Hi,
Mobile data doesn't work with China Unicom? It's definitely switched on, it works in the stock ROM but on yours it does not work at all, I've changed network types to Global then WCDMA, I can't get 3G or 4G.
Ah... I noticed you have a OPO in your profile? Did you build this from that version?
OPO have a bug report about this for many years... any chance you could fix it for the Z11? https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/BACON-307

What build from Huawei has a 4.x kernel, for my phone? +few questions

Hi,
So I have a VNS-L31 bought in France (Europe), not locked to a specific vendor for updates.
Actually I use LineageOS 14.1 self-built using a 3.10.x kernel (using Meticulus development files that I had to fork - like he removed his vendor repo and his latest commit in device repo is not buildable; see my Github repo and I don't give any rom or support for now).
I asked Huawei to get the kernel sources for the stock rom and I'd like to get the 4.x branch. The problem is they asked me a build number, but I flashed from Android 6 which uses 3.x, so I have no idea for what is this build number. I don't know what is the right build for EMUI 5 / Android 7 I could get/use. On the URL= http consumer huawei com /fr/support/mobile-phones/p9_lite_fr-sup htm ] official website [ /URL (in French) they do not offer a download option for this build (only Android 6 and a rollback package). And maybe this isn't even built using the 4.x branch?
And I don't know if I would get the same sources as in URL= https github com /OpenKirin/android_kernel_huawei_hi3650 ]this repo[ /URL.
Also, I'd like to know more of what's going on rom development for Android 7 (or 8). There do not seem that another LineageOS 14 port is going on, OpenKirin has only a recovery released as far as I know. Also, one or two other phones seem to use the same kernel, that are not other names for the P9 Lite, like the Honor 6X?
PS: I don't have any skill in rom porting, I sent a few emails to people that worked on this device, and I saw I'm really lacking of knowledge. Also, it would be one of my many side-projects.
Thanks for your help.
