The $299 price is on a contract price + monthly fee depends on plan you get from the provider . Full price is like $700+
Question is, why are you buying a US phone?

If you don't get a plan, plus you'll be paying for international plan. I doubt any provider will even allow you to order it. Its full retail price without getting a contract.
You also got to remember the bands need to work with your providers you have over there.
There are other places around the world that offers the snapdragon.

There is a thread further down the page Buying from Mobiles.co.uk relating to buying from mobile
May be useful
thank you
but it didn't say anything about duties/taxes by customs
where can i find about that?
some ody plz answer me quickly
how much will the duty cost me ?
i have to order soon
I'm not sure about canada, but if I was buying from the us and bringing into the uk I have to pay import duty. The amount varies depending on the value.
Your best bet is too look on the canadian gov web sites for tax, or google a tax forum maybe

Galaxy S4 Question about US Market

Hello everyone who is eagerly anticipating to get their hands on an S4! I am aware of the fact that the U.S. version of the phone is going to be the quad-core version, but that's only for phones from carriers, correct? I really wanna get the octa-core version, albeit without taking advantage of 8 cores simultaneously. So, can we order the international version from a U.S. online retailer, when it's released?
Its not really known yet because we haven't even reached the pre-order date yet, however, there are several threads that have this question asked in them already. If you keep an eye on those threads I think your question will be answered as soon as someone knows.
Thanks, man! I figured there might be a couple of threads about that, but I didn't look around since it's easier to post a new thread. Anyway, sorry about that.

Expansys-USA and Negri both have them available for pre-order.

Sweet! Thanks! Even though I'm impatient, I'll have to wait for a while because I really don't want to be paying that much. Hopefully it will drop to $640 as it was projected.
I'm going to the US in july, and since here in Brazil we have many taxes, i'll buy my S4 in there. But I would like to know if I will find the octa-core ones on physical shops or they will sell the octa core one just in online shops?

You should be able to find both in shops non carrier shops should have them, if the carriers don't.
Not all customer service may know the difference between phones. So check the phone before buying.

Yeah, I always do that, my cousin one bought an iPhone 4 thinking that is was a 4s , but thanks, that made me relieved that I can buy the octa core one
In US markets? Doubt you'll find an octacore. But if you ever do please share where you found it.

[Q] Why would I buy Exynos?

Ok, so everyone today is pre-ordering on amazon or wherever you can go to get it without tax... good for them... but not me.
I will own a Note 10.1 2014, around the time it comes out, so I'm already committed to the purchase.
The one on pre-order at Amazon is the Exynos WIFI only.
I think I'd rather by the 4gLTE/WIFI one at ATT. Here is why:
-I get the Snapdragon 800 and Adreno GPU which I've been reading is pretty much the best over the Exynos.
-Developers love making custom ROMS with those Qualcomm chips (bloat removal)
-I can pull the SIM card out of my ATT Samsung S4 and plug it into my tablet when I feel like going online with it.
-I buy it from ATT unlocked, spend the same amount of money as the one on Amazon, and I get the above features for free.
Now... the reasons for getting the one on Amazon:
-I can order it now and have a good chance of it shipping out on the release date.
-You can say that Samsung has announced that they will unlock the dormant 4 cores of the 8core Exynos in the future.... but did they promise you that they would enable it on the Note 10.1 2014? No. No promises whatsoever. You'd be setting yourself up for some serious disappointment if you bought the Exynos, expecting it to happen, and then they enable it with the next device. If an active 8-core tablet is what you MUST HAVE, then wait until they ship a product with an active 8core tablet... not when they announce that some day it will happen.
I'm just waiting for ATT to have a pre-order or a release page come up for their 4G/LTE/WIFI tablet.
Anyone poke holes in my logic?
Where did you fund a price that was the same between the two? Thw lte one costs several hundred dollars more accounting fir the cost of the contract.

The note 2014 isn't listed yet but it's always been the case for mobile/lte devices that they cost several hundred dollars more in the US accounting for the cost of contract. If the LTE version really did cost the same, why the hell would anyone buy the WiFi only version?
wait, if we pre-order it on amazon, we don't need to pay for tax, but if we order it later we have to?! why is it like that?!
how about for best buy?
(I'm new to US, can somebody clear that up for me pls?)
Two answers.
To the first, I want to buy the tablet, full price, no contract. I'll pay the non-subsidized price, to get it unlocked and without the contract. With my ATT SIM, I'll just drop it in whenever I feel like. That has to be an option... You take the contract for the subsidy. It wouldn't make sense for me to buy the tablet at full price plus a service contract, and then the next day I cancel the contract AND get a late fee. Am I wrong about that? Educate the thread.
State sales tax is different in every state. I'm in California and Amazon charges sales tax. I researched it and if I were to buy the Exynos... I was going to buy from TigerDirect since they don't charge CA Sales Tax.
Still not convinced to go the Exynos path...

Having owned devices based on both Snapdragon and Exynos.
Samsung fab is better than TSMC so this results in better idle battery life so when you leave it idle for days it hardly drops battery life, is cooler running and with better stability.
Exynos performance is more consistent as it tends to keep more cores active and the clock rate higher. In contrast, Snapdragon aggressively disables cores where there is usually only one active and runs the clock rate low so the performance is inconsistent like what I experience with Snapdragon 600 on Nexus 7 2013.
Related to the above, Droidfish app nodes per second rate on the Note 3 Exynos is nearly double that of the Note 3 Snapdragon.
Undecided on GPU between the two since it's not clear if Exynos 5420 will have T628 or PowerVR GPU.

HTC Nexus 9 - 32 GB LTE - 359$ Canada

Hey guys , I saw this on another forum and I want to share with you , if you have not seen this.
So Rogers Canada sell the device for 359$ without a contract (it's a promo limited time) This is the 32GB LTE is a really good price because Google play ask 669$ for this model. You can order by phone or go to store for having it. If some peoples wondered if the tablet is locked sim with Rogers, the answer is no it is only for phones.
You must activate it with a 5$ minimum data plan without a contract ( the 20$ fee connectionis you can have it for free on phone and on many stores ) After that you can cancel your account in the same days for having nothing else to pay.
Here the link: HTC Nexus 9 Rogers
Here is my experience with this:
I already have a nexus 9 16GB since last year ( i have got in solde for 350$ )..
Finally I decided to replace my 16GB for the 32GB LTE and selling my 16GB. Great move!
I was in a Rogers store last week and the store manager sold me without contract. The maganer told me he had no connection fees or charges for the sim card for tablets. So is said me is free for all of this. So i have Took the plan for 5$ and later in the day I call Rogers to cancel the line, and he said he had nothing to pay so no invoice because I cancel in the same day.
Have fun
Nobody in Canada here? lol.
I am, just already have a n9 lol. That's a super deal though.

[Q] Ordering Moto X Force to USA

I'm thinking to buy Force from England or from Mexico. Anyone had similar experience? Am I'm going to be charged for duty, tax...? If yes, how much?
Why not getting one from VZW? I got it for $424 plus tax with $300 trade-in credit.

Because has locked bootloader and limited LTE bands.
I'm doing the same from Mexico. Much cheaper than via UK (no VAT), and there's no duty on cell phone imports in the U.S.
i've got 2 phones coming my way
1 to colorado, USA
and 1 to Canada
another one also in process.
Is that really cheaper than importing from UK? Moto.mx says the 32g costs 10499 mxn which is about 635usd. Buying from UK via clove technology, u pay 415 GBP which is about 630usd too. So essentially the same price. But you can build your own from Moto.mx while clove.uk only carries black.

Depends on currency fluctuations for the day, between U.S. dollar and Mexican peso and UK pound. Some days cheaper one way, some days the other.
But you pointed out the most important part -- through Mexico the ability to customize how you like.

Just keep in mind that all customizations are extra. So you may end up paying more than just for plain black device from UK.

This guy gets +1 because he did an excellent job at helping me bring over the Moto X Force into Canada for me. =)
I still have to send mine in to get a new color. I told them before that I wanted the global version that's unlocked. I spoke to "Richard" and he said that the phone doesn't have a global version and only works with Verizon. This guy clearly didn't know what he was talking about as I've been using it minus a band with T-Mobile since day one. But anyway I'm hoping to send this one in and have them send me an xforce. Think they'll do it? I paid full price for two of these and I don't want the locked Vzw one.
You want to send back T2 to replace with Force? To who?
