I have pre ordered the note 3 with phones4u on ee its a £51 a month contract with the galaxy gear for £199 and a free wireless speaker and a case good enough for me.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for the upcoming deals. currently the prices are not that appealing
cheapest is £42 on 2 years contract
any news on release dates ?

I'm also waiting to see a better deal, carphonewarehouse have told me there getting their shipment on 20th sept. Three uk are apparently offering pre orders on the 16th. Its worth waiting just that bit longer to see what happens. Also phones4u have told me it could be weeks after release that they start sending them out where as carphonewarehouse say they will be shipping to customers on the 25th. Just waiting for three uk to give some news before I decide

I would say Three UK will have it for £34/m on a 24m Ultimate 500 contract, and £99 for the phone.
Thats what they have the Z Ultra on.

I dont get phones4u. They say you get £100 off a Gear, yet they are still charging £199 for it. The RRP is £199. So are they inflating it to £299 to then take £100 of it?

Most likely so, as I use the I9100 with hspa+ and unlimited data for $15.
I personally don't mind not having lte, especially since nyc hspa gives me 4-6 down and 2 up unlimited.

For any other Kiwis around here:

Two places I've found available for pre-order so far. Mobicity have a price, Expansys don't (yet). Although Mobicity will want payment up front.

For me personally it is also important to consider insurance. If I'm forking over 700 US$ I want to protect my investment
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda premium
Amazon has them but hardly ever at release date. MoCity usually have them but the price is normally more expensive from what I remembered. Clove normally had the best price.
But from my experience with clove and expansys, you have to pay upfront. But remember this for those in the USA, if you order from UK sites we don't pay vat and the total including shipping is cheaper than ordering from America.
With regards to insurance, never had a problem personally, but if I did samsung has warranty covering it.

I ordered by Galaxy Nexus through Handtec (handtec.co.uk) and had a good experience with them. If I do pull the trigger and order a GS3 then I will probably do it through them. Depending on price.
Expansys been taking pre orders for them.
Expansys UK
Expansys US
Negri Electronics
Carphone Warehouse
I always buy electronics from Negri. There probably the best customer service I've dealt with. It all comes down to personal preference with this type of stuff.

this first release of S3 will only work on Bell, Rogers, Fido, Telus
I'll wait for the Tmo release, which is usually like the 3rd incarnation of the same phone every year
as AT&T and Verizon or Sprint usually gets the 2nd generation release of the same phone

Any Canadians looking to purchase the NOTE 2 Invternational Version?

...Specifically Toronto GTA area people, where are you buying the NOTE 2? I well remembered last year when I purchased the NOTE from Handtec, I had to pay $100+ in duites.:crying: Trying to avoid that this time around.
Any sources?
I was thinking of it, but then I read that the international version isn't compatible with the LTE band on my carrier, Bell.

I will be getting one, was very close to ordering from handtec, but then i read ur comment, I think Coptech will be getting it next week, CanadaGsm doesnt have any pricing yet, expansys canada doesnt have it in stock yet, I not sure what will happen if I order from ebay.com, probably will be screwed with duties and taxes. I thought cell phones were duty free items, but I guess not.

Since Winnipeg sucks and we're never going to get LTE, I'm fine with the 3G only version.

Bell Canada is selling the original note for $729.95, which is only $10 less than the Note 2 at Expansys... I can't see the Note 2 selling for much less after launch. At best $699, but I think $750 is more realistic. So.... maybe expansys (or newegg) is the best bet for those who don't want to wait at least another month for the retail launch.
When I ordered the Galaxy Beam from Expansys uk last time, they cancelled my order and told me to order from the ca site. Never happened before. Eventually got it at Clove and probably will do again for the Note 2.
Doesn't matter to me if it there's no LTE as I wasn't going to put the sim in anyway.
I ordered the note 2 from Expansys on Wednesday and received it yesterday. Waited less than 24 hours.

It wouldn't be worth it even if you could get someone in the UK to ship to you as the Samsung cashback can only be claimed in the UK and only one plus it uses the registration details when first set up according to the conditions. Surely you would get import duty plus the high cost of postage would bring it in line with us prices ? Plus any issues would need shopping back to the uk ...
Xpansys in the US are selling at $499 which works out at £314

No, the Tab 2 10,1 is also reduced:
Tab 2 10.1 = £238 - £50 Samsung Cashback = £188
Note 10.1 = £318 - 50 Samsung Cashback = £268
Not sure I'd say £80 difference is 'nearly the same price'.
These prices are valid at Tesco, Argos and John Lewis (at least)

Agh, I paid 480 euros just a month ago and it seems I'm not even eligible for the cashback as I bought before the 24th. It's great for most but I'm feeling a bit annoyed that the price had gone this low already given that it had only just been released here. I was thinking prices might drop after Christmas which wouldn't be so bad, but it's ridiculous for those who bought a new product so recently.

All electronic products come down in price or better spec newline the same price. I bought back mine for 319 about week ago from Tesco.
Got the Galaxy Note 10.1 for £234.99 on Thursday at PC World with price matching at Tesco and Argos after £80 cashback
PC world price £399
Tesco and Argos £318
10% of £82 Rounded it down too £8 and adjusted till price to £310
had to buy a cover to qualify for £80 cashback so cheapest cover £4.99
Galaxy Note 10.1 for £234.99
This took a bit of arguing before they would accept their own price promise but got there in the end

I pre-ordered an XZ, but having doubts over the device having ordered in I decided to cancel it and replace the device with a HTC One through P4U, they seemed quite happy to do it although unfortunately I did have to pay £100 towards the handset up front, but I will get £30 rebate apparently.. Hopefully I'll still qualify for one of the first 200 orders.

I'm not holding out much hope of being one of the first 200.....even though i was banging away on the keyboard as the event yesterday was ending.
Never mind, they come with Beats buds and a flip case.
I noticed that CPW are doing the One with Solo Beats headphones with their offers.

HTC one black or Silver £65 uprfont £26 per month with 500 mins unlimited tests and unlimited Internet, this is probably the best I have seen so far. Better than CPW or P4U.

Yeh its contract only. Just read the T&Cs
I originally bought the One X on a 12 month contract on Vodafone and my contract should be running out soon. I want the One on a similar 12 month deal.
That's what i was hoping for........quite a novelty having a 12 month contract again, still, 3 weeks to go to see if some better deals crop up.
The 12 month deal offered on the One X last year was outstanding.
How did you get 12 months ? I've only ever seen 12 month contracts at like 50 pound a month

When the One X was announced last year Dialaphone and some others had a 12 month deal @ £36/month, there was an upfront payment of £109.99 i think, but also a Quidco cashback offer with £65 cashback, the deal also came with the HTC Media link.
I'm looking for the 64GB HTC One on contract with unlimited data. Can't find any deals yet but I use 5GB - 8GB a month on data with Three, so deffo need it lol.
Where the hell is the sim free HTC One on Phones4u? I can only see the contracts, can someone link me?
EDIT: Found it, might wait for the 64gb model as the 16gb in my Nexus 4 isn't enough since day one, only like 300mb left.
Hopefully it be around £500-530! for the 64gb, anyone know the release date for the 64gb?

Surely if you only have 300mb left of your 16gb then the 32gb would be enough?

[UK] Nexus 7 UK Discussion Thread

Hi there!
I just purchased a Nexus 7 FHD 32GB from scan for £239.99, Their site says i will get it on the 28th but it has not been marked dispatched yet, and release date for UK is the 30th. So all you UK customers come out and say what deal you got where and how you intend to purchase your brand new baby. Make this a thread for all UK customers to see where and how they can get their nexus 7, and if you have had issues, tell us your story.
I will update OP for any info that may need to be at top.
For an overview of the Nexus 7 and Chromecast release check this video.

I think the launch date is the 28th for UK. I have pre-ordered from Tesco - 16G wifi only for £179 (including the bank holiday offer of £20 off tesco direct). Tesco states launch on the 28th, expect delivery before 2nd. Hoping it might arrive by the weekend but probably depends on volume of preorders.
Yeah, UK launch is tomorrow, 28th. I plan to walk nonchalantly into my local Argos and pick one up in the morning.
Ebuyer shipped mine to me last week, had 2 of them in my hands by Friday
I ordered mine from Amazon.co.uk, 32 GB, shipped to NL for 299 euro.
Estimated delivery time August 30/31.
Does anybody knows a site in the UK where the nexus 7 is available that ships internationally and also uses Paypal for paying?(Other then Ebay)
I chased my currys pre-order today. They still had it down for delivery after September 13th, they pushed the order through as they did have stock but said it would be delivered in a couple of days. Being impatient as I am in asked them to cancel the order and ordered from ebuyer who have plenty in stock.
It's due for delivery tomorrow now and I can't wait to get my hands on it! I might have accidentally upgraded to the 32gb model in the process but shhhh... I haven't told the missus yet, I'm hoping she won't notice!
Had anyone else ordered from currys?

I live in Belgium
Purchased mine from Ebuyer on Monday and it should arrive Wednesday. Cannot wait.
Just checked the Play Store out of curiosity - the new Nexus 7 is live. I presume it went live at midnight. Ordered mine from Ebuyer though, to get it on Thursday.
Any discount code from the retailers? Planning of getting the 32GB WiFi, but considering LTE.

I know it's not relevant but holy sh*t... the Nexus 4 is £199 now. On topic, my Nexus 7 should arrive in the next few hours. :good:

Mine should arrive this morning, just a few hours, I hope the ones in the uk are a fresh batch with lower defect rate. It seems the prices have levelled off at £199 for 16GB and £239 for 32GB, I have not seen the LTE variant yet but i believe that would go for £299 32GB, but again i am not sure.
I paid for the Express AM service from Parcelforce on Ebuyer so it might be here in the next hour or so. I literally cannot wait.

Yes but I only can buy with paypal and they don't work with that.
is this a good and trustworthy site for buying the nexus 7; http://www.tiptopelectronics.co.uk/ ?
Got mine in PC World this morning, after going Click & Collect and getting the whole dickhead salesman monologue- "You should buy one of these MiFi things so you can go online on the go despite having just told me you have a 1GB mobile allowance for tethering and rarely use more than 200MB of it", "Oh you need to buy antivirus, whenever you go online with it you could catch a virus", "Here's a case for it [Points to Nexus 7 Mk 1 case], you should totally get one in case you drop it", "You should take out our Piece of Mind plan that's twice what your accidental damage premium is, in case you GET A VIRUS or you DROP IT TWICE".
After all that the ****ing thing had some of the Taiwanese wildlife wedged into the bezel where it got crushed when they installed the glass and the display suffered from major touchscreen fail. Went straight back and got it replaced for a unit which, mercifully, works fine. Great device.
