General advice prior to Flashing any phoneIts always best to do a "clean" install. meaning you should remove any old scripts, data, cache, junk before flashing a new ROM, this is like taking a bath before using new clothes. For some models it is a must do, for others it may not be a major problem or can be resolved by flashing the dbdata.rfs to clear out the remaining junk that you failed to remove before flashing . But if you had "lagfix" and did not undo it, it can cause internal SD card unavailable situation, which can be difficult to resolve.
Hence before flashing its advisable to
a) undo lagfix, IF you had any.
b) Do a factory reset by settings>Privacy> factory reset ( erase SD Card - optional , as formatting SD card could be too)
c) And even going into recovery to wipe everything is also good.
d) Removing SIM Card and External SD card ( makes it easier for phone to boot up initially after flashing a new ROM)
Doing this will give you a "Clean" install or fresh start for your phone.
Make sure your Battery Charge is more than 50%, Samsung requires you to have 100% charge when using KIES to upgrade.
Reminder, What you do with your Phone is your own responsibility, so do it at your own risk Flashing Procedure for Stock ROM using Odin3
1). You need to Factory Reset Phone first go to settings >Privacy> factory reset also can be done in recovery
2) Power Down and Enter Recovery Mode and wipe data and wipe cache
3) Power down and remove battery, Then reinsert the battery and Enter Download Mode
4) Fireup Odin3 on PC and Connect phone with USB cable to PC
5) Now select the ROM you had downloaded in Odin under PDA ( do not tick or press anything else )
5a) This is optional, depending on needs, meaning if your phone has problems than PIT file is used to partition the partitions.
When using , select M190S PIT file under PIT and (make sure re-partition is checked on Odin3)
When not using do not select re-partition on Odin3
6) Press Start Button on Odin3 and wait till is completed
7) Once phone has booted up and everything is working, power down and enter Recovery Mode, here you "factory Reset" phone one more time
That's it Now you will be using the new ROM you just flashed.

Basic Knowledge
First make a Backup of your current ROM, such that you can return to it, IF the ICS, Jelly Bean ROM is not what you expected it to be. How?
When Using a tegrak Kernel on the M190S , you can get this done on the bootup screen , by entering it and making a system and also a dbdata/data backup of your phone, which can be restored by using the terak kernel again IF WD19 ROM is what suits you best.
Your backup will be placed in the Tegrak Folder in the Internal SD card...so save this to your PC or external SD card for safe keeping.
Stock and Tegrak Kernel cannot be used for ICS or Jelly Bean ROM, and you need to use a Version 5 and up CWM (ClockWorkMOD) recovery, to flash the Jelly Bean or ICS ROM direct from your SD card...as such the first thing you need to do is change the Recovery on your M190S to a version 5 ClockWorkMOD.
Which means you need to use Odin and Flash the recovery.tar in download mode, just like you flash kernels and gingerbread ROM's on your phone in the past.
Here is the basic procedure for Jelly Bean or ICS Roms upgrade
1) Download the CWM Recovery.tar File attached below, the ROMs in .zip format ( it can be as many as you wish, for you to test them out, one after the other) and Place them in a Folder (create and name it as you wish) on your SD Card Also Download the Gapps.zip (Google apps) Files that need to be flashed after flashing the ROM. ( So it will always be two packages to flash, in order to get your phone functioning)
2) Flash the version 5 and up CWM recovery on your Phone, How?
Put your phone into download mode, Fireup Odin3 on your PC, connect to Odin3 with USB cable, select CWM Ver.5.0 recovery.tar under PDA and Flash it. Ensure you do not reboot the phone by "UNTICK" reboot in Odin3 such that it will not power ON after Flashing, in case it does power ON, just pull out Battery , press power button for 30 seconds and insert battery again
3) After flashing recovery with Odin, You can enter " Recovery Mode" . You do this every-time you want to switch to a JellyBean or iCS ROM or to utilize the many features this recovery has, like Backup/restore/fix permissions and mostly to do the full wipes (NEEDED to be done every time you want to SWITCH ROMS) etc
4) Once in CWM Recovery you do the Full wipes (use your volume keys to move up or down in the recovery menu to select and the power key to execute that command).
The undermentioned wipes need to be done and will constitute a FULL Wipe of your Phone but your SD card will not be fully formatted as such your Images and other non system files will remain as is.
a) Wipe data / Factory reset
b) Wipe cache
c) Enter advanced and wipe dalvic Cache
Once the full wipes are done,
5) You now choose the ROM you placed in your SD card by selecting "Install zip from sdcard" which will lead you to "choose zip from sdcard", which will take you to all the folders you have on your SD Card..scroll down to where you placed the downloaded files and select it
Once selected the ROM will be Flashed on to your phone, so wait till it says "install completed" Now you do the same selection process again (Step 5) to select the Gapps file and wait till it says "Install completed"
6) That's it, Now select "Reboot system Now".
Now the ROM has been installed on your phone, so let it boot up and you can repeat this procedure to switch again and again till you have the best ROM of your choosing.

In the event that it fails to boot-up or you placed a wrong ROM that caused a boot loop or any other problem, just look in My Android Solutions , IF you cannot enter Recovery mode to flash another ROM.
You can also use Odin3 to Flash a Gingerbread ROM in Download mode and use your backup to return your phone to its original state.

stl10 means you have some junk in your data partition, (most likely mp3 files) that needs clearing, so you have to flash the dbdata.rfs already in your ROM package one more time, try to unzip the ROM and flash only the dbdata.rfs file using Odin3 as PDA

I am not sure which m190s ROM has the CSC files as well as others that you mention and I do not use this model, so I will attach the dbdata.rfs file for M110S, which is identical and closest to this model, flash it to recover and solve your problem after that you can flash the WD19 ( M190S Latest ROM) to make it perfect.
Flash this as "PDA" using Odin3 version 1.7

you need to read and follow the guide, for factory reset, and wipes are very important and must be done for Korean versions. In fact Internal SD card has to be formatted before flashing for Korean phones.
so now try this use PIT file (re partition must be ticked) with the froyo ROM , you need to enter recovery to do wipes once it has booted, read the guide.
if that failed than use the CWM recovery with auto reboot unticked , after that power down by removing battery than enter CWM using combo keys, here you need to the wipes as mentioned in the guide than flash the Jellybean ROM using CWM

solution depends on what and how you try to root your phone, so if you don't provide all the details and what you phone is saying on its screen, its not possible to guess what you did.
but if you flashed CWM and reboot phone, you need to read the guide again, as it is written, you should not reboot but enter CWM recovery to flash the ROM
You can also look at My Android Solutions ( link below) to see anything similar

your screen shot is showing the stock 3e recovery ( means you had flashed a stock ROM), if you flash the CWM kernel and power down and use combo keys as written in first post you will get CWM recovery
it does not matter as long as the ROM you downloaded and flashed was for M190S . so here I am assuming you had not followed the flashing procedures as you must do the wipes and factory reset before and after flashing.
Please take your time to read and read the guide before flashing , its a step by step process, nothing must be skipped.

POSSIBLE FIX FOR PHONES THAT ARE STUCK AT BOOTLOGO AFTER LQ5/LPM + Wipe

THIS GUIDE IS INTENDED ONLY FOR THE 16GB GALAXY S2 I9100 (but a similar procedure can be applied to some other samsung devices)
BIG THANKS TO USER HG42, ALL CREDITS GO TO HIM AS HE IS THE ONE THAT MADE THIS POSSIBLE. THE ORIGINAL GALAXY NOTE THREAD IS HERE
THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THIS WILL WORK, IT DID FOR ME AND A FEW OTHERS BUT YOUR PROBLEM COULD BE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE
AFTER FLASHING THE PIT FILE, YOU SHOULD IMMEDIATLY FLASH A SAMSUNG ROM OR A KERNEL VIA ODIN, ESPECIALLY IF YOU STILL HAVE THE LQ5 KERNEL INSTALLED, IN ANY CASE, DON'T TRY TO WIPE DATA AFTER THE PIT FILE FLASH, FLASH A ROM OR A KERNEL BEFORE DOING ANY WIPE
As you must know by now, some users experienced hard bricks after flashing the leaked LQ5 firmware and doing a factory reset or a data wipe, some others, like me, can still access Odin or recovery but no matter what we try we can't get the phone to actually fully boot.
SYMPTOMS:
-You can go into download mode and maybe in recovery
-When you try to wipe data in recovery the phone gets stuck and reboots eventually
-Flashing a firmware through odin doesn't do any good even when the flash was a success
-During the Flash through odin it may get stuck at data.img or fastoryfs depending on the firmware you're trying to flash
If your symptoms aren't the same as those, i would advise not trying this procedure
THE REASON FOR THE "BRICK"
It seems that during the factory reset or data wipe you made after flashing LQ5, the data partition got badly corrupted somehow, and because of that, neither CWM nor Odin can write or format this faulty data partition. This is why you can't boot into any rom.
What you need to do if you're in the same situtation i was into (make sure of it) is to flash a modified pit file which is gonna create a new data partition on your internal sdcard, leaving the faulty one aside, and thus getting a brand new data partition which is gonna make your phone work again, but at the cost of having a smaller internal SD. Other than that, your phone should work exactly as it did.
WARNING / BACKUP
By doing so, you're also repartitionning the internal sdcard, which will result in the loss of everything you have on it, to backup the content of your internal sdcard, you must follow the steps described in THIS THREAD which is the thread started by the man that found the solution to this problem. The thread is a galaxy note thread, but the backup procedure is the same.
Once you have backed up what you wanted to backup, and made sure you read everything carefully, you can proceed to the flashing of the modified pit file.
The zip containing the modified PIT files can be found in THIS THREAD at the end of the first post.
STEP BY STEP
-Put your phone into Download Mode
-Flash the modified pit using odin, NOTHING ELSE
-After pit flash, the phone will try to reboot, and will get stuck. Remove the battery
-Go into Download Mode.
-Flash a clean, unmodified, samsung firmware (like KI4) WITHOUT PUTTING ANY PIT FILE
-Reboot in stock recovery, do a factory reset
-Reboot phone
-Format internal sdcard
-You should be good to go
ALTERNATIVE WAY (NOT RECOMMENDED)
-Put your phone into Download Mode
-Flash the modified pit using odin, NOTHING ELSE
-After pit flash, the phone will try to reboot, and will get stuck. Remove the battery
-Go into Download Mode.
-Flash a custom kernel with Odin.
-Then Boot into recovery and install a rom from a zip which must be on your external SD
I hope this works for you as well as it did for me. Good luck, and congratulations to hg42 for finding a way to get our devices working again
edit: OP entirely changed his post since my response, rendering it incorrect.
Worked for me too
Tried everything was beginning to give up tried this and my phone works again thanks alot
Glad it worked for you mate.
Next time we'll think twice before flashing a leaked firmware.

Heeyyy!!!! Bro, i found an alternative for us. It worked for me so with you will work to!!!
Im from argentina and my english is not good. So, sorry for that.
Ok, do this:
1/ Download resurrection remix v2.5.3
2/ Flash siyha v3.3.2
3/ Enter to the recovery
4/ Go to "dual-boot options
5/ Select "install zip to second rom from external sd. Automatically siyah will create a second data partition.
6/ select the rom from the external sd and install it. Then restart and enter in recovery again
7/ go to "dual boot options / wipe second rom dalvik-cache.
8/ go to dual boot options / fix second rom permissions
9/ go to dual boot options / wipe second rom data cache
10/ reboot and you will see during boot the next reading: press home o volume button to enter to second rom.... so, press the home buttom and the phone will revive!!!!!!
I must say that every time the phone starts you have to choose to enter the second rom. This solution sucks, but at least your phone will work.
good luck

Have you tried flashing a samsung rom? Are you still on LQ5 kernel?
If this still fails after trying to flash a samsung rom using odin, i think you should indeed flash the original PIT, which will make things back the way they were before, even if it didn't work then
when i use Odin to install original rom , it stuck on data.img
and when I use recovery to wipe factory or cache , it stuck on formatting data
(( I used pit stock and i9100_u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4-patched-standard ))

arf man, you should have stick to the step by steps and just that. There is still little hope though, send a PM to hg42 explaining that you flashed his modified galaxy s2 pit file but that you did the same mistake again (that i did too, but only once) , which was to wipe data using LQ5 kernel. Basically i think you now have two ****ty data partitions, back to square one.
He might be able to build a new Pit specially for you to flash in which yet another data partition will be created, next to the one you just screwed.
I modified my post to make it even clearer that you shouldn't wipe data while using LQ5 kernel.
Good luck man

AFTER FLASHING THE PIT FILE, YOU SHOULD IMMEDIATLY FLASH A SAMSUNG ROM OR A KERNEL VIA ODIN, ESPECIALLY IF YOU STILL HAVE THE LQ5 KERNEL INSTALLED, IN ANY CASE, DON'T TRY TO WIPE DATA AFTER THE PIT FILE FLASH, FLASH A ROM OR A KERNEL BEFORE DOING ANY WIPE
Here is the zip file containing the modified pit file : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1185385&d=1341775209
The file you need to flash is in the main folder and is called i9100_u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4-patched-standard.pit

You are my S2 saver! Thank you! Thank you!
Since Thursday, when i lost my S2 because of LQ5, i have been trying to find any possible solution through ODIN, but the same result: S2 stacked on logo screen.
Today i decided to send my S2 to Samsung, but the last minute i saw your thread.
I had nothing to loose so i decide to give it another try and I GOT MY PHONE BACK!
After formatting internal card i got back 9,54 Gb. I remember that i had 11Gb free before LQ5 but right now its not major problem.
Once more
Thank you!!!!!

P6800 - Enter your password - Problem after trying to instal custom ROM

Hi there
I am sorry if my post is there before but I tried many of the solutions there without any results.
I tried to install a custom ROM as I wanted to try something new. I am familiar with all the steps as I am using S2 from a year and flashed many many many Roms before. I flashed also a rom for my P6800 when it was using HoneyComp. Everything were great. After upgrading to the official ICS, I tried to install custom ROM and it failed. Tried many times to restore the official ROM using Odin without any results. I tried downgrading it to HoneyComp and this is what I ended with

same problem
I've the same problem as shown above
please help my tab is dead
HELP pleaseeeeeeee :crying:
I had the same problem and I found the solution that restored my tab back to life. After two weeks playing dead it works now with ICS. Only method that had results for me was flashing STOCK recovery from P6800XXLA1 and after that Wipe data/Factory reset. I found out that our CWM recovery does not wipe data in our situation so only official recovery does the trick. This fixed my tab (after trying everything) so you should also try it.
P.S If this does not work then try flashing only PIT (for me it didn't do much or maybe it did something but I'm not sure) file and then flash stock recovery and wipe.
Report back !

It worked for me :/ If nothing helps then try re-partitioning with proper pit for your model and then try again. This "error" happens when system can't access internal memory so it thinks that it's encrypted(that is what i found out). Worst case is that internal memory is lost and the best case is one that I had, bad partition or incomplete wipe.

Having the same problem. Tryied to flash any original HC ROM, ICS ROM, ICS + QuickSilver - i may have flashed my tab 10 times and the problem is still there.
Done several wipes/factory resets, both from STOCK and CWM recovery (data wipe, davlick cache, etc.
With stock HC - i get sometimes the same password request, and sometimes it remains stuck at the Samsung Galaxy TAB 7.7 logo
With stock ICS - i get samsung boot animation - and then black screen.
I'm having this problem for the past week and since then none was able / willing to give a solution....
Can anyone help?
Thx,

Can you get in Download mode?* Try flashing new rom from ODIN and CWM first if you didn't already. Or flash only cwm and install system using external sd. After that try wiping with stock recovery.

I will try this tonight to see if it works. Thx
Well, i tryed about anythnig i could think of.
I've instaled CWM - and tryed to install ICS or HC from SD card but i get the same eror:
e: can''t open /emmc/p6800xxlq....... .zip
(bad)
instalation aborted.
Also when i try to do a full wipe from CWM i get :
error mounting /data
skipping format...
then it goes and formats /cache and /sd-ext with no error but then it start to format /sdcard/.android_secure... when it gives the same mounting eror.
In the end it says :
Data wipe complete.
Also when i try to wile Davlick Cache i don't think it does so, because CWM usually askes me if i really want to do it but when i try to wipe it on my tab the text dissapeares for 1 second and gets back to the menu, without any confirmation/infirmation of the action.
Any ideeas regarding what to do?
I also tryed flashing the .pit file, and also flashe 2 versions of HC for Romania and the Austrian version of ICS several times.
I can get intro download mode and recovery.
I flashed HC stock recovery on ICS rom and did full WIPE, my internal memory come back to life. after that I flashed CWM and all was good. This helped me but maybe it is different for everyone :/ Only difference from your case is that I was able to install rom from ext SD.

There seems to be a solution to the problem : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1763348&page=2
I will try it later today....
The best I can suggest is for you to follow these few steps....I had same thing happen to me after build.prop change fail.
Get the tablet into download mode
Open Odin on the computer
Have an Official ICS ROM
Connect Tablet to PC Odin
Replace only the PDA file
Hit the Start button
All should be good after that, worked for me and I had the same logo reboot logo story

The problem is PIT issues are not compatible with your stock rom. I have experienced this problem, many pits and stock rom I have tried but can not be resolved.
But finally I solve it.
You Need
Odin3 1.87, Stock Rom and the right Pit.
1. Open odin and tab to downloading mode.
2. Select PIT that you can get here PIT
3. Open Austria Stock Rom = P6800XXLQ1_P6800OXALQ1_ATO
4. REMEMBER to tick Re-Partition, Auto Reboot and F Reset Time
5. Start.... and you Done.
Hope this will Help.

Hi, I am a noob and also like to try something new.. I flashed some custom roms and had error on my P6800 several times. And the solution are with PC Odin (Odin 3 v1.85). The worst error I ever got is an error while I still in cm10 and I accidentally wipe/factory reset from stock recovery mode and I do not have nandroid backup.
I remember I did the following:
I go to stock recovery mode and run CMW.zip from microSD (this CWM.zip was used for rooting my ICS)
You can get it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756304
After the CWM open, I choose factory reset/wipe, and then wipe partition cache, and wipe dalvik cache.
Then, I went to download mode and then flash stock HC (we can get from sammobile, just choose one) with Odin3 v1.85 (PC Odin). And it worked, my tab back with fresh HC. however sometime the reboot process will takes longer than usual, it can takes 5 minutes since the Odin did its process and start to reboot.
If the above step not work, you can flash again with stock ICS, still with PC Odin, it can work too (at least with me).
Hope this way will work with you too..

[GUIDE-FIX] GT-I9000 BOOT LOOP (common errors, /emmc, no mount of internal SD etc)

I know there are various this and that posts but only one was similar to my below solution. No RIFF box required!
My phone was stuck in boot loop for last 2-3 months. Only way I have managed to get the BEST and MOST COMPLETE CWM flashed was with SEMAPHORE cwm!
Idea was simple at the end!
WE NEED TO get phone on stock firmware BUT somehow to make the internal SD operational again!
Steps!
ONLY PREREQ: BE ABLE TO ENTER "DOWNLOAD" MODE! and have the drivers installed on your pc for your phone to be recognized.
* You can have an empty external SD card in the slot. No harm but better to remove the SIM card if any.
- Use ODIN (i ve used Odin3 v1.83) to flash SEMAPHORE (Semaphore_ICS_1.3.0s.tar ). No PIT file, No partitioning! Simply put the tar to PDA field and flash!
- Reboot into SEMAPHORE CWM and go to section with /data partition! YES! Select size 2GB and SWAP the max 256MB when asked! Exit and restart!
- Enter DOWNLOAD mode again and now flash (you need to find the stock EU region free firmware I9000XXJVU_I9000OXAJVU_OXA.zip which is actually split in 3 tar and not just one!)
- ODIN 1.83 will automatically enable Re-Partition & Auto Reboot & F. Reset Time when you flash 3 files! Leave ALL enabled! Everything else just leave as is and apply below!
You need PIT file 512 for the PIT field!
Then:
i . PDA: CODE_I9000XXJVU_CL851880_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
i i . PHONE: MODEM_I9000XXJVU_REV_00_CL1092175.tar.md5
i i i . CSC: GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVU.tar.md5
FLASH above and your phone should come start up normally to STOCK XXJVY firmware!
Once you up and running and looking forward to flash you most wanted custom ROM please always follow below procedure that I KNOW is mentioned over and over again!
1. ENABLE USB Debugging! (for CM 10.1 users its hidden in MODEL # in about section of settings (press 7 times)
2. ALLOW apps from unknown sources for installing ROM Manager etc
3. Root the phone by flushing with ODIN the CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVU_2.3.6-v4.3-CWM3RFS.tar in PDA field! - Simple but effective you will be rooted and CWM!
4. Copy your new ROM zip to the external SD.
5. Enter CWM. IMPORTANT: a. Wipe/Factory reset! b. Wipe Cache c. Enter Advanced and WIPE Dalvik Cache! (ALWAYS DO THE 3 steps prior flashing new firm)
6. Now you can select your ROM zip from file on ext sd card and flush it. * If you have custom rom like CM 10.1 and you want the Gapps now its the time to do it just after ROM flash finished! - You need to select correct GAPP based on the custom rom you will apply. ICS with ICS GAPPS, JB with JB GAPPS
THE BEST/STABLE/FAST/NET OK/CAM OK etc firmware with great boot i highly recommend is ICS_4.0.3_MR1-RC4.2_I9000.zip . Try it on your GT-i9000 after above procedure and I think you will be the happiest man! Extremely FAST and GREAT Battery handling!
PS I tried latest CM 10.1 but not as fast as above! Not needed in my opinion on the GT-i9000!
Thats all folks!
First, this should be useful for noobs but maybe in the Q&A section?

Havent tried i9003 as i dont have the exact model in hand but you can follow the steps and basically replace the files with the correct ones for your i9003. Again I repeat you will need for each model its own files and process... If you would like me to repair yours you can pm me and see if this would be possible.

[Q] SGH-i377 stuck on Cyanogenmod logo

Hello,
first I'd like to say that since the first day, I really....hate my Galaxy S4, this is probably the phone I hate the most actually. This is why I wanted to get rid of this stupid stock ROM (who the hell wants all this preinstalled on his phone ?!)
I flashed it from the CWM Rom manger with Cyanogen Mod 10.1 and it's been stuck on the CM logo since 3 hours, I tried entering into recovery mode, but it boots on the stock recovery.
Please, help me..
You can fix this. You have to reflash stock firmware again since something clearly went wrong and you cant do anything.
1. Download Odin ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189539 )
2. Download the stock ROM image ( http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SGH-I337 ) Large File. Unzip the file to get the .tar.md5 file you will need.
3. Download and install Samsung Kies (Installs Drivers)
4. Boot the phone into "Download Mode" (From http://www.ninjaromeo.com/download-mode-samsung-galaxy-s4/ for i9500 but same procedure)
Unplug phone
Switch off your Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 Android Smartphone.
Now press and hold “Volume Down + Power + Home” buttons together for a little bit of time.
After appearing Samsung logo release the buttons.
Then you will move on to Warning page.
Read the warning before going to proceed.
As the given on screen instruction, press Volume Up button to enter into download mode.
The you will see the page with Android logo and “Downloading, Do not turn off target!!”
If you don’t want to move on download mode, just press Volume Down button in the proceed page.
5. Plug Phone into PC. Open Odin. Select "PDA" and point it to the large firmware file that you downloaded that has a .tar.md5 extension.
6. Click "Start". This will reflash the stock recovery and firmware. It will retain your Data partition. Odin will inform you when it's done. Then close Odin.
You now have a functioning phone. Yay!
Backup everything you need to back up from your data partition to your PC or a microSD card.
If you want to Flash CM10.1
first run this,CASUAL http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297900
It will install TWRP Recovery. Just like CWM but touch. No difference to me has all same features. It installs easier so I used it. It will also root the device and perform the Loki trick to get it to boot and bypass the locked bootloader. RUN IT and follow the instructions laid on in that post word for word and you will get everything working.
So! Now you have a working recover! Yay!. Boot up into Android.
Download the latest CM10.1 Nightly from here. http://get.cm/?device=jflteatt&type=nightly
Download Latest Google Apps from here http://goo.im/gapps
Copy it to your phone. Preferably a mcroSD card.
Reboot to recovery. Go to Install. Select that CM10.1 file and install it.. (Choosing external SD card if you saved it to a microsd). Repeat for the Google Apps zip file.
When done, wipe Data, Cache, Dalverik Cache from the menu in recovery, sometimes under Advanced.
Reboot.
Working CM10.1.

Try the emergency restore / recovery option in Kies. I have never done it but many people have had to after a bad flash. Not sure how you lost your custom recovery. I had issues with a rom I flashed and for stuck at boot but my recovery was fine so I restored my nandroid.
Try wiping your Data partition. Should fix that. Just hook the device up to a computer and copy your stuff off it first. Stock firmware was restored so any lingering problems would be related to stuff in the Data partition. Should be able to boot the stock recovery and do a factory reset which will also wipe the data partition.
As mentioned above you dont need the whole Kies suit. You can just install USB drivers. To make it simple as possible I stated using Kies but you can obtain the drivers elsewhere and install them rather than the whole Kies suit.

a) efs backup
b) Use Call logs Backup, SMS backup. App Backup from Play store and or simply copy everything How to save files to your PC Note:-
It's assumed that you can and know how to connect your Phone to PC with USB cable .
If you do not know, first install Samsung USB drivers on your PC/Laptop, than enable USB debugging on your phone by settings menu > Developer options > tick USB Debugging.
After this use only Samsung USB cable and plug it into your phone micro USB port and to your PC USB Port. ( Always use the Back USB port on PC as some ports may not connect well enough for flashing ROM's. )
If unable to connect your phone to PC for any reason, refer to this guide
How to put your device in "recovery" or "download" modes on Galaxy S i9000?
Volume UP + HOME + POWER will take you to recovery mode
Volume DOWN + HOME + POWER will take you to download modeUse Combo Key Press
Combo buttons must be used as shown above to get your phone into RECOVERY MODE or DOWNLOAD MODE
What if your recovery or download modes cannot be achieved by combo key press on your device?
You can achieve it by methods suggested in My Android Solutions or by using a USB JIG.
Only Rooting or Flashing Kernels or Modems
Follow this, when your phone has a Froyo ROM and you just want to Root or Root and also have CWM
Needed Download for Froyo ROM:-
If you only want root on your Froyo ROM, just install z4root app
If you want root and CWM download a Speedmod Kernel and Flash to get CWM and Root your Froyo ROM. After flashing the speedMod kernel
1) Boot into recovery menu ( VolumeUp+Home+Power)
2) Select "Advanced features" ( Universal Lag Fix menu)
3) Select "Install Superuser" to be rooted
Follow this when your phone has a Gingerbread ROM and you only want Root or Root Plus CWM
Needed Download for Gingerbread 2.3.6 ROM:-
If you are looking at, only Root for your i9000 phone, it can be easily done with Framaroot app. (Its so easy these days)
But if you wish to have CWM recovery too, than flash a Semaphore Kernel or CF Root Kernel to achieve it.
i9000 Semaphore Kernels for Gingerbread, ICS or Jelly Bean & Kit Kat(select according to Version of ROM and chose the latest will be good enough )
i9000 CF Root Kernels for Gingerbread (select according to Version of ROM eg XWJW4 will also work for XWJW6 & XWJW9) )
Odin3 Flashing Tool ( attached below)How to Flash Kernels?Normal Flashing Method :-
Procedure:
1. Fire up Odin3 on your PC and ensure KIES is not running on your PC by killing (Kies.exe , KiesTrayAgent.exe, and KiesPDLR.exe) using Task Manager
2. Put the phone to the Download Mode by pressing (VolumeDown+Home+Power) buttons
and connect the phone to your PC (your phone should be recognized)
3. now select PDA and choose the kernel you had downloaded
4. press Start Button. Do not press anything else or interrupt it, wait for flashing process to complete and phone will reboot
That's it you have now rooted your phone as well as have CWM Recovery. When you have NO access to a Computer or USB Cable
Procedure:-
When you do not have a PC or a USB cable to work with, you can flash Kernels, Modems and even ROM's by using certain Apps like Mobile Odin, Flashify , Flash Gordon or any kernel flashing apps from Play store . So download and install them on your Phone. Detailed guide
In a nut shell, for safety reasons Mobile odin cannot be used to Flash a pit or EFS file, but all others are easily done from your phone without the need to use your PC. Hence CWM can be flashed with a Kernel meant for your phone and from here you can update to ICS or Jelly Bean without a PC or USB cable.
To make it simple
1) Copy File to your SD card (Rom, kernel , or flash files in .tar format)
2) Run Mobile Odin
3) Select Rom/kernel/Modem under Open file , it will automatically sort out the files in the ROM
4) Now you can tick EverRoot, Inject Superuser, if you wish or just flash without them
5) Flash Firmware
That's it, Odin will do everything and you will boot up in NEW firmware or Kernel or ModemFlashing Modem's
Download Stock or ICS or Jelly Bean or Nexus modems from Here
The procedure for Flashing Modems is the same as flashing kernels
Select the modem you wish to test or install as "PDA" in Odin3 and press "START" do not tick anything else or disconnect phone until flashing process is completed
Looking for a ROM? For Stock & Custom ROM or any software Downloads Go here | here or follow this [GUIDE] Unsure which i9000 ROM to choose? or look into the below database to chose what is best for you
Custom ROM's Comparison Database
Mirror
Upgrading (from Eclair or Froyo) or downgrading (from ICS, JBean or KK) to Gingerbread (Stock ROM)Included a kernel for Root and CWM (ClockWorkMod), needed for upgrading to ICS, Jelly Bean or Kit kat ROM's
This is a LIFE Saver ROM for your i9000, Flash this whenever you have a problem with your Phone or just to downgrade from any Custom ROM when you want to switch to another.
General advice prior to Flashing any phone
Its always best to do a "clean" install. meaning you should remove any old scripts, data, cache, junk before flashing a new ROM, this is like taking a bath before using new clothes.
Hence before flashing its advisable to
a) undo lagfix IF you had any.
b) Do a factory reset by settings>Privacy> factory reset ( erase SD Card - optional , as formatting SD card could be too) If you format SD card, save your Pictures and Music etc to PC first.
c) And even going into recovery to wipe everything is also good.
d) Removing SIM Card and External SD card ( makes it easier for phone to boot up initially after flashing a new ROM)
Doing this will give you a "CLEAN" install or fresh start for your phone,
IF you want to have it "AS IS" install, with all the stuff (with junk) in the SD card, you can do so too ( without formatting SD card) .
Video guide for first time ODin3 users "How to use Odin"
Downloads needed for undermentioned process
Use Odin3 Version 1.7 to 1.83 ( meant for Galaxy S1 series (attached below)
Attached below 3 i9000 PIT files ( use 512 only for re-partition ) or 512 PIT
i9000 JVU ROM with i9000 JVU CF ROOT Kernel download and unzip
FIRST ensure your phone (i9000) has more than 80% battery charge before attempting to Flash.
Procedure:
1. Fire up Odin3 on your PC and ensure KIES is not running on your PC by killing (Kies.exe , KiesTrayAgent.exe, and KiesPDLR.exe) using Task Manager
2. Put the phone to the Download Mode by pressing (VolumeDown+Home+Power) buttons and connect the phone to your PC (your phone should be recognized)
3. Select PDA > CODE_I9000XXJVU_CL851880_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
4. Select PHONE > MODEM_I9000XXJVU_REV_00_CL1092175.tar.md5
5. Select CSC > GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVU.tar.md5
6. Select PIT > 512 PIT (If 'Re-Partition' is not checked under 'Option', check it)
7. Press the Start button Do not press anything else or interrupt it, wait for flashing process to complete and phone will reboot
After which you repeat steps one and two (to flash the kernel for root and CWM recovery)
3. now select PDA > CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVU_2.3.6-v4.3-CWM3RFS
4. press Start Button. Do not press anything else or interrupt it, wait for flashing process to complete and phone will reboot
That's it, now you have a perfect Phone, rooted and having CWM recovery, ideal starting point for upgrading to ICS and after that to Jelly Bean custom ROM's
Any problems you may have after doing this, just look here for the solution to that particular problem.
As explained earlier (about clean flashing) if your phone reboots into recovery with some errors appearing in red after flashing the JVU ROM
it may be resolved by flashing dbdata.rfs (attached below) as PDA in Odin3 to remove the junk data files.Using Heimdall to flash
You can do the same process using heimdall instead of Odin3 too, to use heimdall one click you can download i9000 Rescue kit and flash. or use [GUIDE] Flashing with Heimdall
or using Heimdall on a linux machine
Upgrading to ICS
First and foremost, the moment you want to Flash, the rule of the thump is you should have a EFS folder backed-up somewhere else ( external SD card or PC or cloud) How, Look here. And your Battery must have more than 50% charge
Second you should do a Nandroid Backup of your Gingerbread ROM, using the CWM recovery, this will help you solve problems, IF any thing goes wrong in the future.
Every developer has instructions as to how you should flash that ROM, in the thread you are downloading their ROM's, so you only need to follow it to acheive your goal
Download:-
you can choose the ICS ROM here or search XDA and use the guide in the developers thread of that ROM
Basic CWM Flashing Procedure
No need to read if you know how to use CWM flashing procedure
From here on you won't be using Odin3 to flash anymore, you will use the CWM Recovery by using the 3 combo keys to enter recovery or you can use apps from Google Play like Mobile Odin, Flash Gordon or Flashify to Flash direct from your SD cards, so First you need to download the ROM of your choosing into your SD card ( Internal or External) together with gapps for it.
1) After flashing recovery with Odin, You can enter " Recovery Mode" by press VolumeupKey+PowerKey+HomeKey. You do this every-time you want to switch to a JellyBean or iCS ROM or to utilize the many features this recovery has, like Backup/restore/fix permissions and mostly to do the full wipes (NEEDED to be done every time you want to SWITCH ROMS) etc
2) Once in CWM Recovery you do the Full wipes (use your volume keys to move up or down in the recovery menu to select and the power key to execute that command).
Once the full wipes are done,
3) You now choose the ROM you placed in your SD card by selecting "Install zip from sdcard"
which will lead you to "choose zip from sdcard", which will take you to all the folders you have on your SD Card..scroll down to where you placed the downloaded files and select it
Once selected the ROM will be Flashed on to your phone, so wait till it says "install completed"
Note:- Some ICS ROM's may need to be flashed twice as it will end-up in bootloop in the first flash
some need to be wiped again after flashing ICS, as certain apps may not work.*
so repeat the ROM flashing one more time
Also if you intent to upgrade to JellyBean after this, you don't have to flash Gapps here , so you can skip the next step and just "Reboot System" after this
Now you do the same selection process again (Step 3) to select the Gapps file and wait till it says "Install completed"
4) That's it, Now select "Reboot system Now"
undermentioned is an example that you can useFrom Pawitp [4.0.4][IMM76I] CyanogenMod 9 for Samsung Galaxy S

Don't panic, you are still in solid ground and can recover from this, but you may have to lose your contacts, data etc as flashing a new gingerbread ROM, would be the obvious solution. But your photos and videos would still be there, as long as you have NOT formatted the SD card too. On the other hand IF you had google gmail account, it would have backed up your contacts detail, when the sync was ON.
Actually, this thread would have solved your problem already, either you flash the gingerbread upgrade or downgrade JVU ROM as guided or you flash the rescue kit ( which is also the same) in the unbricking section. , This ROM has the bootloader in it so you would not have an issue about it.
Note:- it is possible to use ADB to recover the data and contacts, if you have recovery mode (which you indicate is not having) its also possible to use ADB to boot into recovery, only possible when your have debugging ticked in your device.
SO take a moment to think things overs as to what you want to do, so flash the gingerbread ( sure to recover) or try to recover the data? ( no guarantees though.)

First and foremost, you need to flash the gingerbread ROM to solve your problem and get your phone booting, only after that you should look at CM, 9, 10 or 11. BTW there is no such thing as best ROM, that why you need to read the guide on "unsure which ROM yo chose" to get abetter idea about ROM's
Everything you need to do , has been explained step by step, in the 1st post of this thread, so READ, read and read again , once you understand it all, proceed to do it, step by step

I cannot Flash any roms on my SGS.
GUYS, HELP!
I cannot flash any roms on my SGS, I tried flashing a rom using CWM but the installation is always aborted. I've done this several time but the same thing just happens. I also tried using Odin but, Odin cannot read my Phone.
I'm currently on GAMERZ rom and I want to flash 4.4 Kitkat. Now, I don't have any idea on how will I flash any roms on my device.
PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS! THANKS!

How do you expect anyone to read this??, change your font size, so that we can read and help you.
After reading what you had to say, the details are all in the first post, you only need to read, read and read again, as all the remedies are mentioned in the 1st post of this thread.
