memory swap ? - Flipout and Charm General

is there some chance to swap internal memory with SD ? ive managed this on my Note 2 and it work like charm but same script dont work on charm

To do this your device have to be rooted
This method will mount the sd-ext partition as
data, which will make the internal memory becomes greater.
Stay knowing that the script will leave our phone slightly slow, but it's better to stick with the memory full quickly, then after flash wipe all data (Dalvik, date, etc.) do more than once to fix the sd-ext.
INSTALLATION:
1. Partition the sdcard;
- Backup all important data (eg files
Titanium Backup)
- Go to cwm recovery> Advanced> Partition sdcard
Skip the above step, if you have partitioned the sdcard
2. Download the Ungaze_v4b5.zip
3. Space on sdcard (do not extract it)
4. Go to recovery mode
5. Wipe system, data, cache, sdcard, sd-ext
6. Make flash ungaze
7. Restart

[Q] Kyrillos v7.0OC, want to repartition SD swap/ext

Hi!
I'd like to repartition my SD card to have a bigger space for my data and also a smaller swap, because now it's 512MB and it's just too big, I don't need that much. (I accidentally partitioned the bigger sized partition for swap, I wanted to make that size for my data)
I read some questions about this thread, but I don't know if I have to reflash my phone again or I can just repartition the swap and data sizes without any problem.
Any suggestions?
(ps: it's not a problem if I have to reinstall my apps if the system itself works after this procedure.)
Hi.. You don't need to reflash...
- Take a backup of your sdcard as well as titanium
- wipe data from recovery
- format sdcard from settings- sdcard n phone storage
- reboot in recovery and partition acc to your required sizes
- copy your files back to sdcard and restore apps

[Q] Installing Elitemovil Blade_Rom 2.3.4 [rc] (r11_v3)

----- Installation with DarkTremor. -----
We started the ClockworkMod, we Wipe data / factory reset, Wipe cache, then we enter an advanced Dalvik Wipe Cache and the battery is 100% Battery Status do a Wipe if we do not proceed to make ext3 partition. Advanced, partition SD Card, 512 or 1GB and select Swap 128MB (Remember that after partition the SD to copy the rom on the FAT), after doing all that, select the rom to install and expect to complete the process. Once finished the installation process, restart the phone and wait for it to boot the system.

I have a question about the installation procedure: apologies if I have not understood properly, but is the installation of Apps2SD and the creation of an ext3 partition on the SD card essential for this ROM to work, or is it optional?
Thanks in advance.
(I would have posted this in the main thread for this ROM but as I'm a n00b here I can't post there yet).
It's optional but interesting takin into account the small amount of internal memory of the blade.
You can install it without ext3 partition, and after that add the partition and set-up a2sd when you want.
But, IMHO, put empty sdcard onto blade, partition it through CWM, take out the card (dismounting it...), copy ROM to card, put the card into blade and flash the rom.
Regards.

Thanks for the clarification.
instalation is done via cwm by wiping factory and cache

[Q] Formart /sdcard

So I want to wipe/format my Internal memory/SD Card to make it all fresh and clean again (too many unused/leftover folders). So my question is, what will happen when I click the Fomart /sdcard on CWM? Will it delete all the files and folders in the sdcard? Will the ROM still be there after I format the sdcard? If the ROM is no longer there, how can I push a ROM to the sdcard after I format it?
If there is another way to wipe the whole sdcard without manually selecting each folder and deleting it, how to do it?
P.S. I have copied the sdcard to my computer already.
Thanks for the help!
use the wipe script

From what I get from his explanation in the OP is that, it just wipes the same things as if I were to do:
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- wipe dalvik cache
- format /system
- format /data
- and wipes some other stuff on the sdcard
am I correct?
What I want is to make the whole sdcard/internal memory clean like when I first bought the N4 and root/unlock the bootloader and install the recovery. I do not want all the folders like the goomanager, foursquare, romtoolbox, etc folders because I do not use those apps anymore.

Flashing Custom Roms Doubt

HI there people, just a n00b question, after flashing a custom rom in my i9500 (wanam lite v1.8) i see all my previous configurations, data, installed apps (including bloatware) are still on my phone, is this the normal condition? i mean....when u flash a custom rom previous apps and data keeps on the phone??? or im missing something (like cleaning cache or something)?? i just followed the custom's rom developer guide (download rom, backup current firmware, flash custom rom, enjoy) I supposed a new installation of all system's components was performed when flashing....any info will be appreciated.. thanks
Did you flash via Odin or Recovery?
There is option in custom recovery and in some rom installations that wipe yuor data before install. Fr custom recovere you can make wipe itsefl

1) Download ROM and put it in the SD card.
2) Make a backup.
3) Wipe Data Factory.
4) Wipe cache partition.
5) Advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cache.
6) Mount and storage -> Format Data
7) Mount and storage -> Format Cache
8) Mount and storage -> Format System
9) Mount and storage -> Format Preload ( If it is present ).
10 ) Flash custom roms.

2) Now if i want to return to my previous rom (the one before wanamlite flashing) If i restore to the previous nandroid backup using CWM recovery after the process u mention (wipe & format) all my old data and apps will be there right??

1). It DOES matter... You are wiping internal storage... What are you gonna flash when the rom on the internal storage is wiped with ALL the other Data?
it a special feature of the ROM ur trying to install..... wannam 1.8 says - no wipe - hence it only wipes dalvik and regular cache - all the user data is preserved, like apps, contact, sms , etc, etc, - you wouldn't even need a backup when moving to wannam 1.8 ROM.
if u want to start from a clean system i recommend using the Super.Wipe (its comes available on the Phoenix ROM thread)
Cheers

With Clockwork Recovery you don't touch the internal storage, unless you use "Mount and Storage -> Format Internal SD" ( or something like that ).

Unless you really try - you won't format the internal SD with CWM. the clean cache is a command that cleans the OS partition - but if you'll format the internal SD you'll loose all data and apps
infact - what are you trying to do? do you want to completely wipe your device?
Thanks to all for your answers........finally i perform a new clean installation, wiping all data and cache and formating all the /data, /cache, /preload, including internal sdcard (moving rom to external sdcard first of course) and next flashing WanamLite using CMW.
By the way, i was wonder about i9500 suppose to be a 16 GB (internal memory) phone, however......even with a new clean installation internal memory its just about 8.77 GB, am not talking about free space (wich is 6.9 GB now after clean install), the whole internal memory capacity is just 8.77 GB!!! so what about the other 7.x GB in this model???

[HOWTO] [L/M/N] Move /data to external SD the hard way

Hello, in this thread I'll show you how to move the /data partition to your microSD card in order to increase the storage space, and bypass the speed limits of our poor eMMC memory.
Disclaimer:
I'm not responsible for any data loss or any other kind of problems. Follow the tutorial and everything will be fine. In case of problems, reflash the boot.img of your ROM or reflash the whole ROM and you'll reboot to Android using the usual /data partition.
Pros:
more storage space
slightly shorter app loading times
Cons:
you cannot eject your SD card from your phone when it is turned on
Requirements:
a computer
some kind of adapter to put the microSD into the computer
a 16 GB (or higher), class 10 (or better) microSD
Any recent L (untested), M (tested) or N (tested) ROM and TWRP 3
these two zips: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=113749
Step 0: prepare the SD card
using your computer, shrink the only partition you have on your SD card and leave at least 6 or 7 GB of unallocated space. Be sure not to shrink too much the first partiton (which will continue to be used as a normal storage partition) because you'll have to store a nandroid backup in it! This is why I recommend you to use a 32 GB SD card. Then create a new partition using the unallocated space. If you're using Windows or OS X, create a fat32 partition, if you're using Linux, create an ext4 partition.
Step 1: patch the recovery and backup, then restore
In the AFH folder I posted in the requirements you'll find two zips. Download them and reboot to recovery, then take a nandroid backup of your /data partition and store it on your SD card (TWRP will automatically use the first partition of the SD card, the one with all your current content). Now flash twrp_fstab_patcher.zip. Power off your phone and then turn it on and boot into TWRP. Now go to Wipe > Advanced Wipe > select Data > Change Filesystem > choose ext4 or f2fs (as you prefer). Confirm and check that the Data partition has been formatted to the chosen filesystem. Restore the backup you've made.
Step 2: migrate the data of the internal storage
Reboot to Android and using a file manager that lists both of your SD card's partitions (FX works for me) and copy all the content of your internal storage (photos, music, app data etc.) to *2nd_sdcard_partition*/media/0.
Step 3: patch the kernel
Now you're ready for the last step. Flash kernel_fstab_patcher.zip and reboot. The end!
Warning: you need to reflash kernel_fstab_patcher.zip after you change/update ROM/kernel otherwise your phone will use the "old" data partition! Similarly, you must flash twrp_recovery_patcher.zip each time you update TWRP 3 (this doesn't happen very often).
Well, I hope I put all the needed info in this thread, I'll keep it updated with my latest suggestions etc. If you have got problems, report them. If you find something that doesn't make any sense in this post, tell me. Enjoy!
