Purpose of this Forum - Sony Cross-Device General

This forum is for cross device developments only. If the development is for a single Sony device OR it requires significant modification to work across Sony devices, then it should be posted in the device forum.
Threads started here will include such things as:
Tools
Mods
Ported apps
Dev guides (not "how to root" but e.g. "How to remove xyz from the SystemUI via custom Xposed mod" or similar)

Separate sticky thread for maintaining the index for roms, kernels

Guys as the title tells, can someone experienced enough create a sticky thread for listing all the custom roms and kernels that are available for our galaxy s2?
And also regularly updating it when new roms are released. It will be much helpful.
As i dont have enough time regularly im not in a position to do that.
It hasn't happened yet for a good reason - there's still a debate about what can be defined as a custom ROM and what can't.
See the first post in the "Android development" section. Passions run high there.
I find it relatively easy to look at the headlines rom XXX v1.2 .
Any list is going to be meaningless unless it had a full and active update of the actual improvements on that version .
Some roms are not going to fit into any pattern particular Kitchen roms with multiple builds.

Multiple ?'s

Is there a tutorial around anywhere to show you how to create a custom rom for the nexus s 4g? Is there a website or a section on this website with all the mods you can add to the nexus s 4g? Is there a way to make a mega rom with every mod and every customization possible?
To be honest...I have not seen a Guide to create new ROMs, but I have seen some for theming:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916814
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/guide-on-how-to-make-basic-theming-changes-to-roms/
It can get you started
I do believe Codename Android's website may be able to help you.. not too sure, but check it out, developers tutorials at the top..
http://codenameandroid.com/
I found this one also. It can get you started (this was for Xperia X10 but compiling and getting ready is the same for all):

[Discussion] How have you mod'd your S4?

I'm just wondering if we can get a general mod thread going. What are you guys running?
I'm on stock 4.3 Rogers firmware with bloatware removed and rooted. I have a ton of xposed framework, I'll edit them in later. Also check this link out.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341709
Lets get a discussion going on all the fun things you've done to your phone.
If this thread is unwanted of violates anything, moderator just delete it and PM me.
As there are specific rom threads, along with individual mod threads, will shut this one down as there are already plenty of threads regarding this topic.
Threads like these turn into what rom is best arguments, and members are encouraged to try all the roms and setups to determine what is best for them.
As XDA is not a support site, members should read, study, download and flash (aka interact) in the specific rom threads in the development sections.

[Q] Different Threads for GPE and normal S5?

This is directed toward the Moderators - Seeing as the Google Play Edition is a different phone than the normal SM-G900V, can we get a different section of threads for each??
I don't post a lot but I spend a lot of time on XDA. I'll try just about anything with my phone, but I am by no means an expert. I currently have the VZW SGS5 (SM-G900V). I am rooted with Super SU Pro installed and working great (SU Binaries updated and Knox Disabled). I have just installed Xposed for the first time and am looking for other things to do with my phone. As soon as SafeStrap or another method is working to install Custom ROMS (TW Based or otherwise) I will most likely do so asap.
Maybe I am not understanding their similarities, but it seems logical to have different threads for these phones so that we don't have to sift through things that pertain to a phone we do not have and possibly even try to install something that is not meant for our phones.

After we get some kind of custom recovery for the retail version like safestrap I would like to see all the DE threads moved to the Verizon Galaxy S 5 Original Android Development section like it's done in the VZW Note 3 development section. It would cut out a lot of confusion as well.

Needing testers for Motorola Moto G22

Introducing Motorola Moto G22 (hawaiip) developer community, this is an initiative to bring testers under the same roof for the betterment of development for Hawaiip
I advise people with the device to come forth as testers, please take note that it is only with your support that development with flourish. Regardless of the number of developers, there's no point when there's no one to test.
Requirements to be added as a tester:
1. Must have the device with an unlocked bootloader.
2. Must be knowledgeable and experienced enough with custom ROMs flashing.
3. A reliable internet connection is recommended.
4. Access to a pc would be beneficial for obtaining logs, but isn't necessary.
5. Should be active. You will be removed if inactive for longer periods.
6. Should be loyal to the team. If found to be leaking builds or even mere screenshots, you will be removed.
{Mod edit} If you meet all the necessary requirements and are interested to volunteer as a tester. Answer this post

Hi , i would like to be a tester , i dont have much knowledge in flashing (but i have some basic knowledge and i alr flashed roms on other devices) other than that , i have everything required , where should i contact you? Over discord or in this thread?
Hi. I would like to be a tester. I have many years of basic custom-rom flashing experience on three mobile phones. Can follow any instructions for debugging/taking debug-logs.
Why they don't add our device into the devices list? There's the G20 but not out G22
i would like to be a tester , I have many years flashing roms whit moto g22 have 1 year and ready for give help if it possible
I would love to. I've got a spare hawaiip i'm not using at the moment, and feel quite comfortable with the task as I used to cook my own roms.
