[Q] My SP mistakenly upgraded to .1.257 from .211 instead of .2.245...HELP ASAP - Xperia SP General

I was excited about the new .2.245 upgrade which has minor changes. But my SP upgraded to .257 instead of .2.245....
And now when I am trying to re-upgrade via PC Companion it won't upgrade. It says that 'There is no software for your mobile'.But everytime I connect it to PC it gives the notification of .2.245 upgrade.
And while installing PC Companon I overlooked the location thing. It mistakenly installed US version instead of Indian version.(I live in Mumbai,India)
Now what the heck I can doo..??PC Companion is not working(uninstalled and installed many times after this issue and also changed the location but it won't help) and I want to upgrade my SP(even if the upgrade has no major changes..)
And when I upgraded the phone via PC Companion it said that it installed the .2.245 upgrade but when I booted my phone I was shocked to see the .1.157 firmware....
Also factory-reseted my phone but it isn't working and didn't help...
Apart from that will i receive any notification of further upgrades or not??
[For new firmwares and OS upgrade...]
Any other methods for upgrading...?
HELP ME ASAP....!!!!!

[Q] Help with Rooting my Play

I need some quick advice regarding rooting my Play, I have a UK Xperia Play I updated it to Android 2.3.3 using the PC software. From what I have read its possible to root the device by unlocking the bootloader and flashing the Rooted ROM in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098736.
Now what I am unsure of is that in that thread it reccomends flashing the Unrooted ROM first. But have I effectively already done this by updating?
My baseband is 7X30A-AAABQMZAM-1290_21-22 and I am on build number 3.0.1.A.0.145 My build number matches that in the aforementioned post so I think it will work.
I just wanted some clarification before I jump in
If you unlock your bootloader you will not get updates from SE anymore neither through SEUS or OTA (voids warranty too). If you try to update after unlocking your boot you will brick your device.
It should work if you just flash the rooted rom and if it doesn't no problem all you have to do is flash the unrooted rom as mentioned then the rooted on top. Flashing fw using flashtools is basically the same as using SEUS to update/repair. So as long as you DO NOT use SEUS or ota to ever update your phone again after unlocking your bootloader you will be ok.

first off all, you need to check wether your device will connect in fastboot mode, (Turn power off, hold the search key and connect usb) as some branded or sim locked devices have had this blocked, you wont need to flash the .tft because you will have the new baseband already, aslong as you can unlock your bootloader, your free just to flash the rooted .img, as the above poster has mentioned though, if you unlock your bootloader, you will invalidate your warrenty, and forfit any official support from sony and seus
Thanks for that guys, Yeah I know all the stuff about unlocking bootloaders and the details. My phone isn't SIM locked I got it SIMfree off of Amazon. I got it into fastboot mode earlier just to see if fastboot recognised it.
I shall be rooting it in the near future.

[Q] Determine bootloader version

How do I know which bootloader version I have on my Defy+?
Unfortunately, I'm on a (custom) ICS rom, and I didn't write down the version numbers of the stock firmware, I only know these facts:
I did root my Defy+'s preinstalled ROM (was Android 2.3.4) successfully with zergRush method.
After that, I did install the update to 2.3.6 on my phone. Maybe it was connected to the PC via USB, but the update itself was done on the phone (probably WLAN) without any update-software running on the PC.
After that, rooting using zergRush didn't work anymore! I had to wait for the root-SBF's.
Why am I telling you this? Because I read that an OTA-update doesn't change the bootloader. But why wasn't I then able to root my phone after the update anymore using the same method as before?
So, can anyone tell me my bootloader version or a way to determine it?
Thanks.
If it is an OTA update u might be on BL7, search the defy section for the root mode for that it is an thread made there.

[TOOL] One-Click bootloader unlock (no root required)

I've made simplier way to unlock the bootloader of ZE551ML/ZE550ML.
Update! Version 2.
Now it's not required to flash/downgrade droidboot.img. But you still need to flash one of compatible ROM.
Currently compatible versions are:
For ZE551ML: v2.19.40.18, v2.19.40.20, v2.19.40.22 and future newer versions unless opposite mentioned.
For ZE550ML: v2.19.40.12, v2.19.40.13, v2.19.40.23 and future newer versions unless opposite mentioned.
For example, you can flash full ROM v2.19.40.22 and then use unlocker v2.
Just unzip everything from attached archive and then start unlock_one_click_v2.bat
If you've enable USB debugging then phone will automatically reboot to bootloader and will unlock the bootloader. If you didn't enable USB debugging, then you need to reboot to bootloader manually (Turn the phone off and disconnect USB, then press Power+VolumeUp keys at the same time and keep it pressed till you see ASUS logo, then you may connect USB cable).
Either way, unlock_one_click_v2.bat will proceed to unlock in fully automated way.
If initial boot splash screen become inverted, then bootloader has been unlocked!
If you don't like white boot screen, then you can flash original black one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zen...-black-white-splashscreen-twrp-flash-t3141945
Originally, it's developed for WW firmware but should work on any region.
Works on CN firmware. Confirmed by @corrsea
Based on unlock method discovered by @shakalaca
Based on fastboot hack by @social-design-concepts
Version 1 (old)
To use this version, you need to flash ROM not older than v2.19.40.18 for ZE551ML, and v2.19.40.12 for ZE550ML. And then downgrade (if required) droidboot to compatible droidboot.img
Code:
fastboot flash fastboot droidboot.img
For ZE551ML, known compatible droidboot.img versions are 2.19.40.18, 2.19.40.20.
For ZE550ML, known compatible droidboot.img versions are 2.19.40.12.
Important note for Stock ROM lovers:
Although, unlocker v2 works with v2.19.40.22, there is no warranty, it will continue to work on future versions. It is up to ASUS decision. Unlocking process still requires several files from /system partition including special version of if.bin (/system/etc/firmware/if.bin). These files are still supplied with v2.19.40.22, but in the future they can be removed by ASUS together with disable of downgrade ability for if.bin.
So, if you will flash future stock ROM through official update procedure (which includes bootloader update - from ifwi.zip) then you may loose unlocked bootloader! And of course, ASUS may completely block unlocking procedure (at least unofficial way).
So, if unlocked bootloader is important for you, then
1) unlock it ASAP while current firmware allows.
2) don't use official updates. You need to remove all lines from update script containing ifwi.zip references and then flash through TWRP (you need to remove lines checking recovery version as well).
thank you very much for making this way easier, hope it will help many people, good job bro
@sorg, thanks for the tool. One ques. Will it wipe off the data? And does it keeps OTA taking ability or will it break off? If it breaks, what can be done to get it back?

Hi
Is there anyway other than installing a third-party recovery to verify if the boot-loader is unlocked or locked ?
will it void warranty of the phone.
If you unlock the bootloader it will void the warranty, as there's no way currently to lock the bootloader again.

Are there news for the ZE500CL version?
I currently have .22 via OTA, so I can just proceed with unlocking the bootloader without any issues? because in the other thread, they are still saying there is no way to unlock bootloader without downgrading to .20 or .18.. TIA!

man, a simple "yes" would have been easier to type and more polite.. of course, I've read it, same with all the threads here.. that's why I've seen a conflicting statement in the bootloader thread, hence the attempt to "clarify".. not everyone here is as good as you are.. thanks anyway..
great tool ! thanks
So im on v2.19.40.22 and ran Version 2
Phone rebooted went into stock recovery but it did nothing on there. The prompt on the PC said it was unlocked.
I manually rebooted my phone and the splashed looked the same.
Did i do something wrong?
Am i unlocked?
Can i verify if it's unlocked?
Thank You for you help.

Hello,
I am a little confused by these 2 lines.
The first line says:
But you still need to flash ROM not older than v2.19.40.18 for ZE551ML, and v2.19.40.12 for ZE550ML.
The second line says:

So do I need a ROM no older than 2.19.40.18 or does 2.19.40.22 works fine?. As far as I know. 2.19.40.22 is older than 2.19.40.18.
Please clarify for me.
Thanks

V1 for anything under x.20
V2 for x.22
I think this is what it means but i may be wrong. Flash at your own risks

Because I've made unlocker not for one specific ROM version, but for any existing starting from .18 and newer.
.18 is older than .22, where is confusing?
I understand, that we live in time of smart phones and stupid people, but try to be on par with your phone at least. I've tried my best to explain in the OP what ROM versions you can use. I've made some bold text, some red text to take some attention. I've wrote example especially for .22 version! If it doesn't help, then i don't know what else can i do. How .18 cannot be obviously older than .22?
I've updated the OP, wrote compatible (as of today) versions. If even this is not clear enough, then i give up.
Awesome Work Mate. U ROCK!!!

relock honor 5x bootloader sorry for noob question

hi all my first post im wanting to relock 5x bootloader has i unlocked the boot loader unofficial way as my fingerprint scanner is not working so prob needs to go back also it wont update
i tried this via adb fastboot oem lock and it said FAILED ( remote invalid command) plus on the phone in fastbbot red its got PHONE unlocked and FRP UNLOCK
hope someone can help would be appriciated and im running b130 firmware
I dont think you can relock it its unlockable for a reason. Offtopic// how is warranty in europe when unlocked?
hmm,
well ive relocked bootloader just will not update and fingerprint not working not even in menu
Maybe you should walk us through what exactly you did up until the point where your FP scanner stopped working. It seems strange that it stopped working as a result to unlocking the bootloader (they are not related).
this is what i did
right i tried installing cm13 installed twrp and then the rom did not work kept crashing
so i reinstalled stock recovery via adb
then installed b130 rom for l21 device
ive even tried the dload update app route to reinstall stock rom and when i connect it to my charger and do the key combo i keeep getting software installed failed and it goes to quick to get the error message
i cannot update and im stuck on b130
when i do goto uopdate via handset it says your system was altered and full update is needed and then fails

Thats not the error. You cant update the phone after you rooted it/ after the bootloader is unlocked.
Did you clean flash it or dirty?

@Zulu:
Is your issue that the fingerprint setup menu item does not even show up in the settings menue even when you re-flash stock rom and EMUI 3.1?
I have that exact issue. I have been trying every possible way to go back to stock, am at EMUI 3.1 now with original Recovery. But still the fingerprint menu item still does not show up in the setup menue screen.
Now I am hoping that EMUI 4 will solve that issue.
Did you find a solution by chance?

hi yes same issue i couldn't get phone to update to b140 or anything so I've just reflashed cm13 this time which went without any issues this time round. when i went back to stock the fingerprint was not even in menu same as you
i will not buy a cheap budget phone anymore this is way to much aggro lol and I've flashed loads of phones before and never had these issues on this scale I'm going to be buying another phone in a couple of months
the only reason i wanted to flash in first place as i thought stock was laggy
let me know if you get your issues sorted and then give me a step by step guide please when you have done this
also i did unlock my boot loader via dc client software as huawei site for unlocking boot loader never worked for me

Unable to Unlock BL

Today I decided to unlock bl , flash twrp and root my M1.
Tried 3-4 methods , 3 PCs , manually installed drivers and wasted 4hrs but all got zero results. Everytime after clicking on "unlock.cmd" nothing happens. Just command window shows erase all devices ... something like that.
I am currently on latest build i.e. 311.
Any help is welcomed.
