[App][Plugin][LiveView] Metronome Plugin - Other SmartWatches

This app is another one of my simple apps, it works for the Sony Ericsson LiveView, its supposed to be a copy of the famous Music Tool, the Metronome, Using Vibrations from the LiveView it has Quite a few B.P.M (beats per minute), and by using other emulators (plus sound copys) i believe i have it stable enough to use daily
Features include:
-Space saving programming (minimal codes used)
-Vibrates the LiveView in the rythem for the beats
-Changable BPM by using the up+down touchpads
-Display that tells current BPM (when changed in-Plugin)
-Defaulted 60 BPM ( 1/second quota)
Downside of app:
-uses liveview battery a little since its using power to vibrate the device from ranges of ~25 - ~200 BPM
-May damage device with consistant vibrations with little-to-no brakes in-between (can happen randomly for any device that has a vibration function in it, so i had to put the disclaimer)
-may cause irritation around ~180 BPM when using an itchy wristband (it did to me, but im sensitive to vibrations, so results may differ)
Have fun with this, as i tried to make it as accurate+satble as my liveview let me =)
Download:
Google Play Download Link

for all you liveviewers out there that used this app, i uploaded it to my new Google Play Merchant account and changed the OP's link to the google play link;
since this isnt like my motoactvdpi app i most likely wont be needing to give the old link back unless you need an alternitive download if u do not have GooglePlay access and need the APK but heres the link if you all want to download it from there =) Consider it a FINAL version as its working fully as intended, but the same stuff in the OP Still apply sadly,

Recommended Apps / things?

Hey guys, first time android user, and been using my nexus for a couple weeks now..
Just wondering what are the best apps to have? I use the stocks app, ebuddy and Advanced Task manager..
Also, where do i get live wallpapers?
*please don't recommend stock apps *
Thanks
Search "Live Wallpapers" in the market to get more.
Recommended Apps:
Seesmic/Twidroid/TweetCaster
Places
Beautiful Widgets
Weather Widget - Donate
Taskiller
Astro
Wordmate
Audio Manager
AK Notepad
Amazon
Barcode Scanner
Movies (by Flixter)
Pandora
Radiant
This is my first android phone as well, but I've managed to find a couple of apps that I think are pretty good:
Spotify (need premium spotify account)
Dolphin Browser (even after the OTA)
Handcent SMS
RealCalc
Documents To Go (paid)
Linda Manager
Doggcatcher (paid)
Compass
Xe Currency converter
GPS status
Fluid Level
Unit Converter
Battery Indicator
OurGroceries
Weather Forecast
The easiest is to just spend a little time browsing the market and test out apps. If you have access to paid apps there are prolly some good ones there as well (I'm not in the right country and don't have it rooted).
Astrid (To Do List)
Weather Channel (weather from anywhere)
SportsTap (sports updates for most sporting events)
Advanced Task Killer (closes all programs and opens up available memory)
ASTRO (control the flow of files on your SD card)
Documents to Go free (open Word, PowerPoint, etc)
Pandora (music radio)
ShopSavvy (great shopping app)
Mobile Defense (low jack for your phone)
CarSafety (just in case while your driving...)
While it seems to be up for debate...
The BAD
Task Killers are unnecessary, the phone is not running windows, and it does not require 70% free ram in order to operate smoothly. Your apps will all be running again not long after you kill them so there's little point. The phone operates perfectly with 20-30mb free mem (even less) Android's mem management automatically ends app's as memory is needed, so 3rd party app's to kill are only for those OCD about their running apps. Btw, I currently have 109 hours of uptime, and I never kill apps (unless something specific gets out of line). The performance of my N1 is smooth and speedy all the time.
(Try "Quick System Info" if you're still curious, it will still let you end an app manually if its misbehaving. )
Battery monitors, widgets, etc are well known to drain battery.
The GOOD
ASTRO - best file manager I've used.
Seesmic - The best twitter app I've found, switched from twidroid as seesmic shows RT and @user public conversations. Supports multiple profiles, and is very fast and lightweight. The best part is, its FREE, and no ad's!
Shazam - Tells you what song you're listening to.
Radiant - one of the best games on android market - and looks fantastic on the N1's screen. Try also "Totemo" if you're into puzzles.
Noodles free - to do list: I like this as a fast and easy shopping list/to do list. I've used a number out there and this is one of the cleanest.
SMS Popup - popup display of your sms that is configurable so it doesn't interrupt or get in your way while you're using the phone.
Phonalyzr - call stats, most frequent called, call length. Can track your billing cycle to aid you if you're able to get away with a cheaper plan.
Ringdroid - One of the best apps on the market, Easy way to clip your mp3 tracks into ring tones, anywhere and any length you choose.
Sidenote:
All the Google apps are pretty solid.
The included gene widget weather app is extremely light weight, yet also provides great detail, stay away from weatherbug. I've tried both weather widget (Paid and own) and beautiful widget (paid and refunded) and found them both to be a little bloated, and/or take up too much screen real-estate. (I know BW has a 1x4 option, but I still found it to be laggy graphically)
I agree completely with what bofslime said regarding task killers... I've got over 180 hours of uptime without any performance slowdown whatsoever.
I also second Astro file manager, Shazam, Ringdroid, and Noodles free (definitely the cleanest to-do list out there). I'll also add Pandora, Movies by Flixster, and Yelp if you're going out a lot and need to improvise plans.

Agreed, Linux handles memory different than windows which people are so used to. I only use my task manager (taskiller) when an apparently starts acting up.

Thank you guys for recommending my app!
I just released new update with drag and drop and a new UI, let me know what you guys think.

Hancent <- Great SMS/MMS replacement app
Phonalyzr <- Just started using this to keep upto date with my usage
ShopSavvy <- used this on a couple of occaisons for comparing prices on the go
F1 <- seems to be the only F1 app available at the moment
OperaMini <- just playing with this shame you can't make it default browser though
Advanced Task Manager Free <- good for killing processes, services etc. and also uninstalls apps too
Astro <- file management
Battery Graph <- does what it says, graphically see your battery usage
System Profiles <- setting profiles for work and home etc.
QuickSettings <- installed but not using so much at the moment
gTasks <- for hooking into my google tasks

Logcat Live Wallpaper
NexusMod Live Wallpaper
N1 Torch
I think that's everything I would like to hear other peoples suggestions
Tools
Handycalc - Hands down the best calculator for android. It does graphing and much more
Car Locator - Helped my find my car a few Several times
Craigsnotification - Notifies you of new posts on craigslist of any item you want and it allows you to set a price range. This app has saved me SOOOO much money
cVolume - Volume manager since android method of managing volume sucks ass..especially when youre in class and you think the volumes all the way down because you held the volume button all the way down then you go play a game and its on full blast because you didnt turn down the media volume only the ringer
Easymoney - perfect for managing bills, bank accounts, and all your money
Findmyphone - helps you find your lost phone by emailing you its coordinates (haven't had to use this yet"
Movies by Flixter - best for movie times
N1 Torch - turns your nexus one into a flash light with its led flash (really bright!)
Shazam - when youre listening to a song on the radio, or at store and you want to know what its called, just open up the app and your phone will analyze the song and tell you who its by and who sings it
Shopsavy - great barcode scanner (also saved me a ton of money)
Taskos - a task switcher/killer that implements the palm pres card ui to switch and end applications..just hold the search buttton to switch apps..android already shows you the last 6 apps open by holding the home button but this is nice too
Games
Raging Thunder 2 - This game has the best graphics out of any game on android. It is a full 3d racing game with tons of tracks and cars. It has online multiplayer mode so you can race your friends, or random people all over the world even people with iphones. Best game ever
Gameboid - A gameboy advance emulator for android. It has multitouch and plays your gameboy advance games at full FPS with sound
Toonwarz - A fun little first person shooter game that also has online multiplayer mode to play with friends and people around the world
Exzeus - Also has amazing graphics and it is a shooter game as well.. i dont really like it but lots of people do

[S] Car camera app

Hi at all,
I am using a CarCamOne but would like to replace it with my android phone, as the quality is far better.
However, I don't know, if there is a suitable app: I need an app which captures what the camera sees (i.e. the street and the cars) while driving. It does not need to show it, but can run in the background, so that I can use GPS navigation at the same time.
It should be possible to specify a certain path in which the same video gets overwritten everytime I drive. Let's say I drive on January, 1st, so it save 010111.avi, then when I drive next time, it deletes this file and creates one of the specific date, so that I always have the latest drive on my sd card.
This whole thing is meant to be able to prove what happened when an accident has occured.
(I would also accept such a program for Windows Mobile, if there is none for Android.)
Thank you very much!
+1
Want this, too.
I'm driving a lot. German motorways are fast, idiots all around risk is high. There were certan situations in the past where an app like this would be very helpful for evidence.
Would be great if it will work automatically when car mode is detected by snapping the device in the car mount near the window.
I try to but can't remember ... I'm sure that I have seen similar feature in another camera app ... but sorry, memory has gone.
PS: would create finest youtube stuff, too
PPS: maybe something from here: http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applications/car video recorder "car accident recorder" or "video loop" ?
I tried "video loop" test app with 5 seconds restriction.
In car mode app the cam stood still and stuck.
When trying the programm as a normal application it creates files without file extension (like .mp4 or whatelse). Wondering why it's available in the market.
At myvideoloop.com there is a remark, that the android version is still under development. So, still searching.
Search the market for AutoGuard Blackbox. I haven't tried it, but it sounds like what you are looking for.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Thanks!
Seems to be pretty well with several options like limit by video size or limit by minutes and so on. Also video quality can be changed in several way.
When linked to the carmode-app it works in my private couch potato mode. Will test it soon while driving the next days.
Some features will work in the paid app only, but the free app should be enough for testing purpose. $1.89 / €1,39 if you wanna have all features. Cheap if it works.
( Can't imaging to use the collision detector. I will recognize an accident by myself - exploding cars are very loud. )
@lamajstro, sorry, for hijacking your thread. Hope it will help you, too.
Thank you all.
Stepsch, no problem at all. Could you please give a feedback to that program after having tested it? That would be great!
Thank you!
I humbly suggest my free app: DailyRoads Voyager. You can search for it on the Android Market. More info here: http://www.dailyroads.com/voyager.php
Video Road (http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-androidlab-videoroad-qnEmF.aspx) also seems to have decent reviews...
I tested AutoGuard Blackbox for only few km until now.
It was working from a link in the car app as expected. I used the original shipped micro USB cable with a car charger, so the phone switched immediately to car mode. The app does what it says with standard settings. It feels a little bit ... how should I say ... cumbersome or sluggish. But this could be caused by my individual phone setup.
DailyRoads Voyager: installed only, but not tested in car so far. When using at home it feels a lil bit more lightweigt, fluently than AutoGuard.
Would be great to send the videos to an hoster of your choice. Until now it can be sent to Daily Roads Website. To be honest - I am lil bit to paranoid to send it over there, I also try not to use most social hubs.
Will take a look at Video Road too.
Testing those stuff creates lots of workload, as there are so much settings available for video quality and lots more. Won't be easy to get comparable results.
So, now I am with DailyRoads Voyager, which works well in the background.
Issues: GPS position is often incorrect and km/h is always zero or much to slow.
An additional running navi app was a little bit too much for the i9000, both app slightly stuck from time to time.
Glad to hear you made the wise choice
The GPS position and speed values depend on what the GPS sensor relays back to the apps. I don't do any calculations for speed, except the conversion from m/s (what Android provides) to km/h or mph.
I've noticed that the speed readings become more accurate when the number of visible satellites increases. In the next version of the app (1.6) I show the number of satellites, and filter out speed readings obtained with 4 or less satellites.
Beta versions of v.1.6 are currently in tests, and I expect to release it to the Android Market in about a week. Will post here when this happens.
Good news! Thx a lot! Looking forward your ping.
Speed is not so important while driving. Also the position is not sooo critical. But maybe it will be helpful in case of accident as evidence, when the videos have time stamp, defined position and correct speed - when one crashes in a gasoline truck.
Indeed, the GPS info is not always important. But, video evidence is, as explained in this recent TV news: "Victim uses smartphone app to record hit-and-run"

Man, you have *no* idea how much this app is going to help me out! *EXACTLY* what I'm looking for, thank you.
Anyone want to recommend a windshield mount?
I dont need the full blown N1 mount from google/htc, and a lot of the cheaper ones on ebay look like they would do the trick, but the bigger question is, if the mount will end up in the frame of what DRV is recording?
One prob is: most cheap mountings that I saw until now are somehow not stable. They let the phone vibrate all the time and your eyes have to vibrate in same frequency when you want to watch the vids afterwards.
Important is a stable and short neck between windshield sucker and the device itsself.
Third party products or those universal mounting need mostly one hand more to connect the USB charger in the phone. A lil bit uncomfortable, but if this isn't a issue for you, you should take care that it can't vibrate so much only.
Brodit seems to have good reputation and has lot of matching parts.
It took more than I expected to finalize the beta tests, but now DailyRoads Voyager version 1.6 is on the Android Market. Added quite a number of features, and the full changelog is listed here: http://dailyroads.com/voyager/changelog
i tried DailyRoads Voyager v1.6 on my Desire HD. i'm sorry to inform you that i had no chance but uninstalled it within an hour.
with it on at the background for some minutes, my device automatically rebooted itself (knowing that it was a known issue in capturing GPS signal, i've turned off the option of using GPS signal in DailyRoads Voyager). i had to uninstalled it after auto-rebooting the third time.
Sorry for causing such problems The symptoms seem to indicate incompatibilities between video resolution/encoder/format. If you have Android 2.2 installed, it'd be best to select HQ (High Quality) in the app, and only try CQ (Custom Quality) settings if you know your device can handle those. The native camera app can also be used to manually determine what the camera is capable of.
Hi
I've tried DailyRoads on SGS 2.2.1 (JPY) with root/lagfix and i'm having strange problems with it ...
It looks like DailyRoads makes problem with cache of system or sth like that - after 1st time install and run, everything was great through about 5 mins until freeze and autoreset ... then i had all my apps settings erased (contacts, smooth calendar settings, gameloft games savegames etc.), icons/shortcuts layout set to default, menu sorted alphabeticaly and every app with account like facebook, twitter, google reader started to freeze so i've erased cache of DailyRoads and all of those freezing apps but it didn't work. I had to reinstall those apps to fix it, and configure them/other apps again ;/
Doing this i've also uninstalled DailyRoads, and since my SGS was quite well configured again i started to think to give it 2nd chance ;>
It's sad it happened again, but this time after about 10-15 mins of using DailyRoads, and it only erased cache setting of smooth calendar and extended controls so i've uninstalled DailyRoads again
I'm not 100% sure why it's happening but until today i didn't have any problems, and it happened twice while i was testing dailyroads ... maybe it's because of lagfix ?
Anyone having similar problems ?
Besides DailyRoads is gr8 and i'd even buy it if it wasn't free ... and causing such problems on my SGS

Did make backups of most of it with titanium backup though.
Don't delete sony ericson home , it's the standard launcher fixed this by holding the search button, voice searche for android market, entered the android market from the browser and instaleld launcherpro. anyone got a backup of the standard SE launcher for me?
Got 110MB ram used after start-up now. Seems nice to me (used to be around 170-180 if I recall correctly).
PS I advice against removing office suite as it is used for viewing documents (like word documents, pdf files and those things), unless you got some replacement offcourse.

which version of titanium did you use the free version or the pro and is it easy to get to the apps to be uninstalled.
I used the free version of titanium. It's quite easy. You got a list of all apps that are installed, they are color coded (red=standard phone files, green=standard files with cache you can clear and white is user installed files). Just tab the app and select uninstall. Selecting back-up will only back-up data like preferences and saves I think.
Wornining, don't freeze or un-install SE Home, because it is your home screen and your phone will never unlock the screen. I had to go to titaniam backup and defrost it.
ok just a few questions before I jump in, what does the freezing option actually do?. And also if I was to backup an application first then unistall it, can I then restore it.?

I'm not sure but I think it's like a uninstall that you can put back. You freeze it, rest of the system think it's gone, you unfreeze, and it's back as it was before. Could be used as a test before uninstalling.
OK so by freezing it this actually creates more memory?

I think more ram but not more storage space, uninstalling should safe storage space.
ok froze a couple of apps, but no difference on ram, so do i actually have to unistall the app, after backup, ?so that i can restore it should i want to use it?
if you un-installed any stock apps and you want them back, you propebly can get them here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036249
My device survived around 60 hours, including 1.5 hours of gaming (super mario kart to be ecaxt), the occasional whatsapp/skype/texting, around 20MB of downloads and some surfing + playing music on my earplugs for a few hours. Still got 15% left (dimmed the screen brightnes when I was around 50%). Deleting bloatware really seems to help.
Hey all,
I have also uninstalled a pile of bloatware, mostly covered by what has been mentioned already. Some of the names I don't remember but I will write what is on my list via Titanium:
iPlayer, magicsmoke, protips, stk, touchpal, thesims3, facebook, twitter, geniewidget, talk, music, timescape, support, digitalclock, owstore, retaildemo, setupwizard, touchnote, vodafoneshop, vodafoneupdates, whatsapp.
From the earlier list, I don't recommend anyone remove the Get Games unless they are sure they don't want any from the "more games" when you slide open your phone. I had thought I could still get the full list of games via market, but games like Backstab aren't. You can't get these games via emulators either.
My phone has went from booting in around 5 minutes to less than 1 minute & I had initially freed RAM up to the point where I was >200Mb.
The phone flies now, you can really see the difference. I'm also keeping widgets to a minimum & I highly recommend no-one puts on the useless task managers to kill processes (which themselves drain the battery). Simply use Running Services within settings. Oh, and I now only have 13 running services
My battery life I haven't noticed yet because the phone is stuck to my hand
Good luck all,
Rixter
Battery life is much better! Charged my phone 5 days ago. Made some calls, played games and it is still 50% charged

Lol, I hear ya. I'm only starting out with Android so the curve is still upward. From what I read from other sources, task killers are only useful if you have them set to automatically kill because the offending services continually restart. Then it's a looping killing field, as you say chicken & egg time. The way forward is to root & remove the apps
I'm trying to be good by using the inbuilt OS to find out status rather than add more hoggers such as battery widgets, task killers etc. Gotta stretch that battery to it's max.
I still haven't had time to play many games yet!!

[Review]CM9 port on Galaxy3[Review]

Hello everybody...XD
I've been trying the "new" port of Cyanogenmod 9 (ICS), from the following topic:
[DEV][WIP] Ice Cream Sandwich Port (AOSP/CM9)
And after some weeks of dayly usage of build 4 with Update 1 i've decided to make a review of it.
The original post has a list of working and not working features, so first of all i'm going to comment and complete the ROM issues:
Bluetooth: It's not possible even to turn it on, so if you really use the bluetooth, forget it.
Wifi AP: The native tool doesn't work at all. The ROM includes the app Wifi-Tether, through this app you are able to turn on the Wifi-AP, other devices can see and connect but that's all, you can't actually use the internet .
Calendar: In the raw ROM it's not possible to syncronize your google calendar account, it can be solved by installing the GAPPS: link GAPPS...Thanks Halco (it also fixes a google+ app issue)
Camera(Photo): You can took photos but you can see them only after they are saved, through the gallery app, i mean the camera app has no live preview of the photo, only a black screen.
Camera(Video): You can't record videos period.
Videos: You can't watch videos, even youtube videos, youtube crashes when it attempts to reproduce the video.
Games: Forget every application which demands high processing .
Issues I've faced during usage:
Sometimes the phone crashes when you remove the power cable;
You cannot natively sync your facebook contacts (I've used this appfacebook contact-Sync.=P);
Sometimes all of a sudden the phone freezes, and you need to reebot it ;

Nice review, and yes you can post market links, just not links to warez websites.
Cheers

i've just installed...soon I post my experience
actually you should use latest openFIMG update with arakmars G3mod kernel. it improves overall performance and data usage feature works with the new kernel.
general assumption: when doing a review you might want to say some positive stuff about the ROM as you only said which features don't work. overall performance is good on ICS though trebuchet launcher consumes a lot of CPU power (but it's version 0.1, so there will be improvements anyway). there's no word on battery life, too, which is quite good for ICS.
[edit:] oops I was to slow
Good review, but to many problems,i will instal it in the future,ICS is amazing,
I like to add some more bugs

Sometimes the phone crashes when you remove the power cable;
You cannot natively sync your facebook contacts (I've used this appfacebook contact-Sync.=P);
Sometimes all of a sudden the phone freezes, and you need to reebot it ;
It can take a bit to open the App Draw if you join the Apps and Widget Tabs, if you face this slowness go to Settings->Laucher->App Draw and uncheck Join with Apps;
The Data Usage (a native tool that keeps a track of your data usage) doesn't work;

I like to add some more bugs,
- During the call when you press any key to interact with IVR the phone call goes to mute.
- Phone became very slow when you using is continuously.
A lot of faults but not much said about the features that are working so just thought I would go a bit further....
Widgets in appdraw
You can now view all widgets in the app draw without having to add them to the home screen, this is a staple feature of ICS and has been ported beautifully, it gives you a grid size in the draw too so you can see sizes.
Folders on homescreens
You can pile apps ontop of eachother to create folders so you can have all your messaging apps (whatsapp, fbmessenger, smmsmms) in one place. just click on it and it will open the folder to make your choice. it makes finding things quickly very simple, especially if you have alot of apps.
Apex Launcher
Apex launcher is a replacement launcher for trebuchet and helps run the new OS butter smooth. it also a little more customisable and user friendly and runs the best on this port. if you want fast and smooth, download it and push it to system/app for all functions
notification bar
the notification pull down bar on the port is alot more customisable than anything on GB or earlier OS's. add a weather option to it for a really sexy look.
Once installing the new gapps, they work absolutely fine, still a few syncing issues but all in all a decent attempt, the calendar especially is cleaner and more user friendly than previous builds.
extended power menu is working brilliantly, can go straight into download or recovery mode which i believe is now touch screen if i remember correctly... (please correct if wrong) and connecting to wifi is fast and reliable. There are many more things that really do show a huge amount of promise in this build, it is clear that given a little time and help with resources, these dev's are going to pull off what i personally didnt think possible. ICS ON G3!! D
Did some testing
I tested a view tastes of CM9. Was quite happy with the latest builds, however discovered a small issue that makes it a bit difficult to operate. I will describe it, hope this helps the developers.
First: Wifi, data is all working quite well, calender worked as I needed.
After flashing the rom CM9 systems work fine for about a day, after that when the phone goes into sleep you can wake it up, however the digitizer does not show any sign of life.
The screen however is fully functional, buttons operate.
After some random button pressing the digitizer migt start working, sometimes a reboot is the only solution.
However after a reboot sometimes it operates for half an hour and shows up problems with the digitizer again. I had this on both the G3 phones I owe (use one for testing).
Why it operates the first day after flashing without a problem is a little weird.
For the moment I'm back on Dutchmod 5.3
I lost the market (play store) after installing the G-apps given in the first post.
Looks like the G-apps from the above link is de-Odex.
Can any one give me a link to the odex G-apps?

I don't think gapps has odex and deodex apps
It is the ROM which is odexed and deodexed.
It works for icsforg3 build 4 so you can install it on any odex ROM

[RTOS]Aiwatch C5 Sports Watch(rel. March 2016)

Just tested the Aiwatch c5 sports smart watch.
Looks and feels very nicely build with cnc-ed Aluminium alloy case.
Round face with a 1.22" 240*240(?) res looks good on the screen which has a good dpi. Much better then others I have tested.
Beyond the basic functions
Calc, calendar, phone(+bt), sms(+bt), contacts(+bt)
Bt notifications, bt camera, record, search phone, Siri,
Timer(split), alarm(multi), picture viewer, filebrowser(*)
Flashlight function, airplane mode, short cuts, bt music,
Options,
it has a gyro, baro, temp, alti, heartrate, step and uv sensor.
Magic voices, ringtones..
There has also the option to send files or pictures to other devices
using bluetooth. Receiving is not possible.
So far all seem to work fine. Shake to wake, to answer, to mute, to swich menu.
Three menu themes and three ways to navigate it(shake, swipe, big nob)
Place for a sim(gsm only) and Bluetooth 4.0 functions.
It comes with a "magnetic charger" cradle but no stand also in alu-alloy which also acts as OTG and comm.
Though this isn’t a android device and has no external memory. Only 1 Mb user space is availible. This might be a minus if you want to use it beyond it's intended use...
It does have a picture viewer. Pictures at 240p are about 25kb and still look good on the watch's screen. So you can put a lot of those baby pictures on it..
Clockfaces are part of the firmware. They are nicely made but may not be your tast. So, the ability to install upto 4 extra faces has been added to make the total 10.
I installed three other faces through bt notifier without a problem. I'm not sure really how that works. But over usb is and other option(Dont install faces over usb!). Animated clockfaces do also work.( vxp clockfaces can be installed using an xml file over BT, same goes for vxp apps but these need special additions to be installed over BT
For a feature watch this one has a lot op options. Installing applications is one of them. (ea. yahoo weather etc...)
It supports mtk .vxp or mre apps. Tested a text reader and opera. The later usses to much ram to work on the watch. But suffice to say that with only 1mb of space you can't install a lot. let alone browsing the internet which this watch isn't intended for.
A new optimised firware could free up some space and offer maybe proprietary apps.
Unlike the U11 this watch uses its gyroscope correctly. Works everytime to wake the watch. But obviously at times when the watch is at deep sleep it takes a second more to wake. To save extra battery, disabled the wake function.
Code:
Tip;
at night shut the watch down. The alarm will still work
All in all
This is an solid feature sports watch that doesnt look geeky.
Tech menu theme is clear and simple. Navigating menu's is fast.
The big knob is very handy to switch faces easy and has a Shortcut function
by pressing it. Very handy. Really makes it feel like a normal watch though the firmware may be tweaked to make it work in other apps aswell.
I would be nice to use the knob for like setting the alarm, split timer etc..
Battery life
Is poor as with most if not all smart watches. Using the watch just for the the clock function will extend battery time greatly. Several days at least. You can disable just about everything to squeeze that last second of battery time but thats not why you buy this, right? But hey, look at the price.
At release I paid 50€ for it and they are already going for 70€ and up, which isnt a great lot but I do find it way to high for a China feature watch. Its to close to Android watch prices even if it has gsm support, its still just a sports feature watch.
The design is great and consistent throughout the body. Firmware has been tweaked but the consistency has been lost there. There is room for improvement though its not a deal breaker at all. Its a sports watch but not water proof nor resistant. Though I have been using this watch for months whilst running an sweating like an ox, yet the watch still works fine. But I dont suggest taking in out into the rain. I suspect it will die if you do.
Really hope they will upp the hardware in future builds and stay in the price range. All day battery with gsm or bt on is definitly a must.
I think there on the right track design wise. I'm keeping my eyes on this company.
Already ordered a second one. (And also have an U11 with 320p)
Additionally
After eight months off use the watch still offer great value.
One thing tough is that sweat will react with the back of the casing. My watch shows small pits in the alloy.
It's not a big deal but this should not happen.
The touchscreen is still scratch free and the band still in top condition. There is a small stain on the side aluminium which will not go away. Hardly visible though.
A lot more faces are availible now but no firmware update. But thats probably to soon. Still like this watch a lot.
Cons
Personaly I find the cradle a little cumbersome they made a nice unit but would rather prefere an integrated power unit. Its very fiddly and you still need an stand to put it on if you dont want to scrach your watch. Stands are no bankbreakers but taking that and the watch over the weekend is annoying. May just need a minor redesign.
Some functions you just dont use, some of these functions would better be removable to free some space.
The knob is great but firmware integration could be better. Also more short cut options.
Keyboard is not optimised and very, very fidelity.
Just remotely controle music and volume(with knob) without routing the audio to the watch. I know it can because some times it just does that.
Bluetooth recieve option!
Set a picture as clock face option!
Remove the startup sound, additionaly better sound engenering all together to match the feel of the watch.
Better battery!
All in all the firmware is ok but improvement is very obvious.
Still like this watch a lot!

Hi ebsbow, thanks a lot for the infos,
I also have this watch from few days, and I'm happy of it till now!
I would like to know where can I find info to install vxp apps,
I've tryed to copy it in MRE dir of the watch and then? You we talking about vxp can be installed using an xml file over BT,
can you give some more infos or link?
Thanks a lot in advance
Mauro
Installing is actually very simple it seems.
Just use the filemanager on the watch and brows
to the place where you put the vxp and select it.
Needs to be said that the watch doesn't have
much ram so only a few small apps will install.
I just wanted to install a new clockface and thats
not a problem. Finding some is a problem
About the xml. That needs to be in the appmanager
folder on your phone. I'll upload an example.
Though, the correct info to swapp eludes me.
Thanks a lot ebsbow!!!
I installed Opera even if it doesn't works for insufficent memory like you. Also gmaps and parkour don't work. I'll try more apps
Bye
Mauro
Your welcome
I also have animated white and black digital clock if your interrested.
Installation:
Just put the extracted vxp with the xml in the appmanager folder.
Then install it through the bt notifier app. It should be in the list of apps in the bt app.
Warning: don't install directly on your phone using usb! Use the bt app.
Bt app installs it to the system. Installing it to the small userspace will freak the device out.

few days of use
Hi I got this watch for about 3 days. I like it very much, not a bomb, but enough for me.
I use it bluetooth with an Iphone 6s (no sim card inserted in the watch slot). I got all me sms and notifications from the phone to the watch. Also able to sync phone book from phone. No email sync. On the Iphone apps fundo (update yesterday) I'm now able to sync data of the watch to the Iphone fundo apps (health data). With Siri, I'm able to send sms and email from the watch ) to the phone. I also ask Siri for weather... she answer on the watch speaker. Bt music work well too. I can listen music of the phone with the watch speaker.
The only .vxp apps working that I've found is this one : Asteroids Multi-Screen.vxp
I have plug the watch usb on pc computer, as mass storage, I have placed file in MRE folder in the watch. Then, I've unplug watch from pc. Navigate in "file manager" on the watch apps to the MRE folder and click on the .vxp file. The watch ask to install... done.
I was not able to change any clock face, should I have to use an android phone? If you have hint for me.
Also, is there a way to use a nano sim card as a mass storage card (to boost storage for apps) ?
Thanks
Patrick
To install clockfaces you need the instruction from the previous post. You do need and android phone, I guess, to copy the files to the appmanager folder.
Not sure if this is possible using standard iphone. Meaning no jailbroken iphone. Unless you can get to the folder an other way.
I found an doc reader( only works with txt because if space restrains. Doc files are to big) And a small test app that works.
And the weather app offcource.
But honestly, if I wanted more to tweak I would have bought an Android watch. Which I will do later as an addition to my collection ?.
Animated clockfaces work without a problem. But finding
some is amazingly difficult. So fare only found 4. ( wich I will post later)
Sadly, I'm not aware of an sim to sd convertion. More space for fictures and music would have been great. But the battery just isn't up to snuff to enjoy it long.
Edit;
Btw, please share your working vxp's. I'll putt the together in one post later( with name)
Someone knows how can i calibrate barometer?
Hi, fallen in love too for this Smartwatch
Hello!
Few hours ago, I've just bought it;
I love everything, except the watchfaces...where I can got new ones?
And where did you get apps too?
I Thank you very much for you fast and accurate response...
...that I'll be wait for!
That is the question. It's nearly impossible to find any
My guess is you will need to download the sdk from mtk
and build some your self. Or hack the one I posted some
posts back.
Also don't bother to much with apps. There is only 1mb
of userspace.
@alfa587: Don't know. Did you try a reset?

Same problem for me. I have a 6S+ and cannot get SMS or notifications to work. Is there some sort of magical pairing procedure I'm not following where a proper seance should be spoken?
