[Q] Enable boot animation - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hey great devs please tell me how to enable bootanination.zip support in stock rom show that i can use custom bootanimations zip files As you know that in stock rom boot animation is in qmg format so to install a custom boot animation we need samsung theme designer to convert them to qmg but this process takes a hell lot of time and makes the bootanimation slow . After doing a lot of google search i found of to enable this feature we have to modify two files bootanimation ans samsungani found in bin folder in system folder so i download those modified file zip but it didnt work i also took those files from other custom rom like nemesis, etc but it didnt work .There are many roms whats allows use of bootanimation zip so please any one tell me how did you enable that feature i want that in stock rom .

nexus S boot screen

hi, im rooted and running cm7 but wanting to flash this kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036996
but from what i've read this has a custom boot screen,
can someone please link me or upload the zip with the standard nexus s bootanimation so i can go back to that?
thanks
Idk if you still need it, but here you go:

Do you need help flashing it? Cause it wont work if you just try flashing from the SD card. You need to move it to the media folder first and flash from there. OR if you wanted to use a third party software try: Boot Animation Changer LITE. Download it from market, open, allow super-user permission, select Advanced Settings, select backup animation, close. Mount USB and place bootanimation in "BootanimStock" folder, it should then ask if you want overwrite, yes. Unmount USB, enter BAC app, advanced settings, restore stock animation. And that should do it. Remember ALLWAYS Backup!!!
lol I know it seems kinda counter intuitive but its the only way i could get the free app to work correctly.
**Note I haven't tried this bootanimation myself yet, so sorry if its the incorrect one

Kph cwm recovery+rtl updated

hay to all.
i created CWM recovery that including :
1.CF-Root adaptation for Gingerbread from this guide-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158197
2. fix RTL lang
3. built in GB keyboard
4. boot animation
5. crt
6.extended power off menu
i didnt include dtapps2sd ,if u want it you can install it.
how to use it ?
1. download the archive.
2. extract and copy to your sdcard without changing the folders.
*if u did backup with CWM before just copy the last folder to yours
/clockworkmod/backup.
3.reboot to recovery mod
4. restore
5. reboot your phone.
6. convert your file system to ext4 with ext4 apk (allready installed)
*if your partition allready ext4 you dont need to convert your file system.
*ext4 will not work on CWM 4.09 the phone will stay at samasung boot logo after restart.
7.dodex

[BOOT ANIMATION] CyanogenMod 9

Hi guys I extracted the CyanogenMod boot animation from the ROM itself, and my oh my it looks wonderful! I attached it below. To install, simply after downloading it and placing it in a comfortable location, copy it, go to system>media, and paste it there It should overwrite your current boot animation and replace it but if it does not, simply just paste the CM9 boot animation there and delete the old one I tested it only on my Samsung Galaxy S2. Works perfect. Enjoy! And remember this is made by the CM9 team not me, so give them the credit. I'm only sharing their awesome boot animation to the community and not stealing their work
Edit: OH YES I recommend that you guys use Root Explorer to copy and paste the boot animation! Cause that what I used But if you have any other alternatives that you think might be better or you are more comfortable with, please share it or use it at your own risk
you might wanna see what ive done see in my signiture at the buttom click > bootanimation< ull gonna like it 100% sure

Hi!
I changed the boot animation of my Galaxy S i9000 using the app "Boot Animations * root" from the Play Store.
I took a very cool one but its getting really nasty after a while and I want to rechange it to the default animation but don't know how . Already tried what you wrote: place the .zip in the media folder and I deinstalled the app because I didn't know where to find the boot animations. Then I restardet my phone but it still didn't change the boot animation.
sry for using the word 'boot animation' that often
Hope you can help me

Try looking in /data/local
If there's a bootanimation.zip in there it'll override the one in /system/media (which is kinda useful for keeping animations across upgrades when no data wipe is involved.)

Changing boot animation on stock rom

I made my own boot animation, but cannot seem to find where to put it, and I can't get access to /data/cust/media. Has anyone successfully changed their boot animation? I'm running U8800-51 stock rom with Android 2.2.2. Also any help with installing custom roms/a higher Android version with 3g would be appreciated. Thank you!
Uhm its stored as bootanimation.zip & bootanimationex.zip in /curst/hw/default/media/ but ive tryed serval times to make it change my self but something is blocking my permissions to do it... anyone please help us

/cust is a spool. It's a virtual folder created from cust.img and cannot be modified without modifying cust.img. Check the marketplace for an application that does just that. I believe that there are several.

I need help setting up a custom boot animation! (Galaxy S8, SM-950U)

Alright, here goes...
I have flashed a few zips that supposedly are supposed to give your Samsung device bootanimation.zip functionality, and have also replaced the .qmg files in /data/media and in /system/media. I have made sure that the permissions are RW R R, and have deleted the dalvik cache. I have used several apps to try and apply custom boot animations, but none have worked. I have tried using flashable .zip archives in FlashFire to install ones, but no cigarette ( )
What am I doing wrong? I have done several searches and have poured through numerous articles, but have found no working tutorials for my Galaxy S8. (My device is rooted with SamPWND.)
Instead of system/media try system/omc/(your variant)/res/media

I put my custom animations there now, and when I hit restart it gives me a black screen with the navigation bar for a while, and then shows the LS.
Did you try switching both system/media and the other directory and remember to change permissions

I fully changed all the permissions to RW-R-R, I forgot to do that. What do you mean by switching system/media and the other directory? I have all the .qmgs pasted in both places.
Is it working now?

No it is not still, unfortunately. Idk what I am doing wrong...
Here to chime in, I have been trying to change the boot animation for a while now, by only changing the .qmg files in system\media. With no success. Im happy to say that you have allowed me to finally be able to change the boot animation with this other location. Thanks a lot!! Having the files I wanted on my sdcard, I just copied and pasted to both locations, both bootanimation and bootanimationloop. Changed the permissions to 644, reboot and profit!
