[Q] A2SD+ not working

Hi,
Sorry if this question gets posted too many times but I am downloaded [12-Sep-201][MAG/cLK][CWM] NDT GINGER V16.0 [CM Nightly 2.3.5][Kernel: Tytung r12] which states A2SD+ is in list of features (and I think this is supposed to use my 1gb ext3 partition as internal memory) but I only have 153mb after installing a few small apps. I know my old rom gave me about 900mb free, and am lost as to how to fix this.
Any help would be great.
Many thanks.
But your SD card got a sd-ext partition?
Try to use "s2e" from the market to enable your sd-ext partition.
i've tried it on the desire of my girlfriend and it works... it is still working
Im having same problem over multiple roms using hyperdroid a2sd+ seems to work fime but tried the experia arc rom and another and both have no a2sd+ although chefs both say its supported
I have totally wiped phone and sd card re-partitioned and formated
i have a 1gb ext3 partition but using a2sdgui gives error saying a2sd script not found or ext partition not found when i do in fact have one ?
You guys could always try flashing A2SD to the ROM from CWM recovery. Just do a forum search for Darktremor A2SD
Use the 2nd to most recent version, the most recent has never worked for me
If you can't find it, let me know and I'll attach it in a post on this thread.
Edit: Got bored and came back and attached it. Just flash it via CWM
thanks very much m8 ill give it a whirl
forgot to mention, after you flash it, go into terminal emulator and enter: a2sd reinstall
it should say a bunch of stuff, then reboot. then it'll take a long time to boot up cause it's moving everything to your ext3 partition and creating symlinks
app2sd is working fine with me.. i have only one issue.. all those apps shifted to ext partition, are auto starting up and i cant disable them!!! i used most of apps that used to block startup apps. but those in ext partition keep showing up and slow down starting up of the device! any idea???

No, you don't have to delete it. The zip should automatically remove any previous scripts.

Can't install sense roms.

Hmm, a wierd problem here. I have real difficulty installing Sense roms. I can easily install CM7 roms for example.
With sense roms I either just get stuck on the boot logo for the rom, experience reboot loops while installing or installing it in CWR just hangs at 50%.
I'm using BOYPPC_Sense 3.0 V6 at the moment and have also tried "Android GBLeoR3 | SMOOTHEST HD2 ROM | 2.3.3SENSE2.1 [MUST HAVE][Hieros1.7.2]"
Both of the above just won't install via CWR or just hang at the boot logo. Here's what I've done:
-Task29
-MAGDLR/RADIO
-Flash the CORRECT partition layout for CWR as provided from the rom authors.
-Format SD card in FAT32 and then use Gparted to make a EXT partition/OR use CWR to make the ext partition.
-Copy the ROM to the sd card
-CWR now fails to install the rom it hangs at 50%! argh! To fix this I format the entre SD card as FAT32 which allows the ROM to install. But then I get stuck on the boot logo for around an 1hour before I give up and pull the battery.
I really am stuck. I'm using an EU HD2.
Thanks all.
Your problem is that you're too impatient.
Sense roms are allot bigger then CM7 and also they need to extract/uncompres files and also move data to SD card partition, especially if you use a EU HD2.
The reboots during install and hang at install % are normal on some sense roms.
Format your card and then use CWM to partition it with a 1GB partition and 0 swap and then use HD2 toolbox to flash the needed partition/cache for your ROM and then flash the zip and WAIT.
[edit] just noticed you say its taking 1hour. That isnt normal.
Do as I suggest though, start over.
Task 29.
Install MAGLDR. (Use HD2 Tool)
Repartition to needed partition/cache. (Use HD2 Tool).
Partition SD card, using CWM, set 1GB partition and 0 swap.
Transfer your zip or other needed files and then flash rom and wait.
Urgh, thanks buddy. Looks like you were right. Left it flashing the .ZIP in CWR until it finished rather than thinking it had frozen lol.
All working now. THanks again

So you have basically flashed a2sd script after restoring apps?
Try wiping dalvik cache. Flash the script and reboot.

No. I just in clockwork mode created partition then installed ROM and then installed apps from market ... they are installing into internal memory and not to 2 SD partition .. I can move them to first partition but not into second one
Ok once again:
I have newly installed android typhoon CM 7.1.0 v3.7.0 ROM clk.
1. I created in CWM a 1 GB partition because I thought the programs Im gonna install will be installed into this partition and not into small internal memory.
2 After creating partition I installed typhoon CM 7.1.0 v3.7.0 ROM clk.
Now system is working and titanium backup shows that there is the active 950 MB a2sd partition.
Problem is that I dont know how should I install programs from android market into this 2SD partition. Im not able to install them nor move there.
So what should I do ?
When installing an app, choose internal storage, typhoon will put it on the SD ext. There is nothing you need to do, it is automatic. Do not choose 'move to SD ',, that will remove it from ext and put it on fat32. Make sure all apps have been moved to internal.
Also when you install, it LOOKS like internal memory drops,,, it doesn't really,, wait a few minutes or restart and memory will go back up.
example, you install a 20mb app,, available internal storage falls by 20mb,, reboot, internal storage goes back up.

[Q] Need to know to run multi rom

Enabling storage of EXT4 on SD-card

Hi
I recently installed a Sense 3.x ROM from the Sensation XL Android 2.3.5 and I got only 9MB of free space. I have an initrd-patcher for ICS and JB, but I doubt that it will work on older versions of android.
Is there a way to make android 2.3.5 use the EXT4 partition on the SD-card?
Yes, you have to flash an a2sd or DataOnExt script after first boot/flashing the rom immediately. Of course, while having an ext partition created beforehand.

Thanks for the reply. Can you recommend a good script for doing this?
I'd suggest this one, but there's a whole lot of other ones. So if this one doesn't work well or you don't like it, don't come here asking for another one. Instead, go out there and look for the one that you like.

and just a little clue to help out a little bit
its in the second post of the thread that Marvlesz link to
I used initrd_patcher_v2 on Gingerbread 2.3.7 and it's worked fine. So it should work on GB 2.3.5 as well. Remember to make an EXT4 partition on your SD before any installation, via recovery, and remove any script like a2sd from zip ROM.

I tried to search for initrd_patcher_v2 and found this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36049396
I tried running it on my system, but freezes up just before boot-animation.
I use the SENSATION XL ROM V 3.0 STOCK from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1316632&highlight=sensation+all+in+one
I can't seem to find any a2sd-scripts in the ROM zip, but there's a sd-ext folder inside the ZIP.

You don't understand, I mean can you format you phone and install this rom again with my advices?
Did you made an EXT4 partition of 1GB or more, with Mini Tool (free), on your sd BEFORE fresh installation of this ROM?
I checked your ROM and the script (apps2sd) is already in that ROM so you probably make a wrong Installation.
Sv: Enabling storage of EXT4 on SD-card
I do understand what you say. I made a task29, clk repartition and recovery from hd2toolkit. Under installation the installer asks if I have 1024mb us model or 512mb EU version. I selected the EU version, as this is the one I have. The only question it asks me is if I have magldr or clk.
After that it returns to clk recovery and I press reboot now. I have created the ext4 partition before I even tried installing android the very first time.
If you want, I can perform a new installation with a video recording to document the process

Do not use CLK or HD2toolkit this time.
I will recommend to do in this way, before touch your phone format your SD with GUIFORMAT (look here on XDA for it) in FAT32 normal mode (no quick), after format the SD use Mini Tool and make a ext4 partition of 2gb (2048mb) at the end of the SD, so when you look at the partition the ext partition have to be at the right side of you. Put inside the SD the zip of Sensation XL 3.0 only, do not do anything else with your sd.
Format your Phone with Task29, reboot in Bootloader,
Flash MAGLDR 1.13 for HD2,
From MAGLDR 1.13 via USB Flasher flash the Recovery Touch Beta 8, (I provided you the Recovery ready for you, unzip and flash)
Reboot in MAGLDR,
put the SD into the Phone,
run Recovery,
Do a wipe data and wipe cache partition and wipe dalvick cache,
Install from sd the zip via recovery,
In Aroma do not select any option if you don't know anything about it, the installation will recognize the EXT4 partition automatically and you ready to GO, GO, GO.
Let me know.
