[Q] MIUI V5 - Battery charging slowly - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am trying out the latest MIUI ROM and observing that since I flashed it, it takes awfully long time (3 to 4 hrs) to charge. I was on CM7.2 earlier and my battery used to get charged 100% in 1 hr flat!
Has anybody else seen this problem with MIUI? Any fixes to this?

Turns out redlens fix does fix this issue. I believe that MIUI overcharges the redlens defy. It destroyed my battery permanently.
MIUI was also not able to run certain apps which were working fine in CM7.2
Quarx roms have problems with bluetooth and the same battery and apps issue.
Hence I went back to CM7.2

Calibrating the battery in MIUI Rom.....

Hi all. I'm using Miui rom 1.6.17.1. i installed it without charging the phone fully and now my battery life sux :-\
So i turn my phone off and try to charge it for caibrating in CWM but it turning on once i plug the charger....
I understand thats it a known issue, so how can i do this thing?
calibrating in miui? i would say its impossible
when my charger is pluged in an i restartmy phone then spring the percentag from 40 to 55
sad ... same here ... but you may try to let your phone to complete discharging battery, until go off ... and after that charge it 100% without using the phone and clear battery statistics from cwm.
Well...may be it was stupid thing to do but i flashed froyo back on...calibrated and than flashed miui with 100%
well ... your battery will still suck...cuz its cm7 base..which has battery drain
cm7 <3
Yeah...thats a problem, but i'm in love in miui
The latest cm7 should have addressed it already.
I was in the same situation as you, battery only lasts 6hrs on any given day.
My battery now lasts more than a day even on moderate use n 3G on all day. I initially rest the battery stats then performed a full power cycle.
Now when I upgrade between miui versions, I always ensure that the battery is 100%

may i know how to calibrate battery ?
i m in miui rom
You can't calibrate the battery properly in MIUI as it is supposed to be done with the phone off, MIUI or rather as someone else has mentioned its down to CM7
It can't charge the phone with it switched off because I believe CM7 is based on the Nexus and the Nexus cannot charge with the phone off
I could be wrong though, but the above is what I have gathered through reading about it

but it was in a rasting state.. none of the apps have ran...
I have the same problem, mine is 30% to 19% it happens to me twice within a minute
sorry for my english
Did you try calibrate the battery once??
yes..
Battery drop/ not chargeable to 100% seems to be the only problem to Defy plus
I'm wondering if I should just buy a normal defy battery for my Defy+. No more need for battery fix

Download Battery calibration from the play store, charge your phone till 100% and then calibrate the batterty. The app erases the battery history (which is false and is the reason for such drops). And from there the history file is brand new and the drops will be over

This is an old problem with Defy battery and I was experiencing it some 10 months ago..
I tried all the tricks in the book and nothing solves it; I always (90% of the time) see a drop from 56% yo 49% (and sometimes another one around 25% to 21%).
At least three people (one being Walter79) said that it is a hardware issue and that they've fixed that with a new battery.

Cell turn off went I take Picure with Flash active.

Maybe the battery is getting too weak for the flash. Try turning the phone off and leaving it on the charger overnight. :fingers-crossed:
That issue is probably battery related. Try with a more recent / new battery and see if problem persists.
change the battery. . Issue will be solved. . . . . .
100% sure . , .
This has happened to me when I was on stock Froyo (a year ago when I got my Inspire), on stock GB, on Android Revolution HD Rom, on CoreDroid Rom, on aospX ICS Rom, and on my actual Rom, Project X. This is very random, might happen ones a week or once a month, but I've noticed every time it happens my battery is below 50%. Last time it happened (4 days ago) it was on 39%. I think it might be a battery issue.

No, as far as I can tell it only happens when taking a picture with flash on and being below 50% battery.
Known problem, had this since I got this phone on every ROM...

[HELP]S3 Neo screen flickers then turn off! Hey

Hey guys,
I have an S3 Neo since 8 months, it was all good, but now i started to face a problem, a big one.
Whenever i charge my phone and i use it, for all.the day the battery is good, but when the percentage reaches around (38%-43%) the phone's screen starts doing some strange waves (flickering) then it turns off, and it won't boot up unless i plug it to the charger and it indicates that the battery is 0% (fully discharged). I tried to replace battery 2 times, but it's always the same, i tried that "Quick Start" Battery gauge chip reset. But no result.
So.... anyone knows what I'm really facing?
Hi i had the same problem... U must buy new battery your battery is dead.
I did bought two batteries, problem persists !
An example of what I'm facing
This is an example, now I'm trying to calibrate the phone by only charging to 50%
My screen also flickers, but only when it's below 10 percent. Maybe it's a kernel issue. Is see you have a custom rom, have you tried switching kernels?
GT-I9301I rom: cm 12.1 (nikola)
Use an app called Battery Calibration to calibrate your battery. You can download it throught Play Store.
But tell us: What ROM are you using? Whar kernel?
Sent from my S3 Neo+ (GT-I9301I) running Stock ROM with @sev3n1985 Kernel
I tried many roms and kernels and all of them have the same issue with my device. I have already tried battery calibration, not working :/ . Now i found that it won't happen if i don't charge my phone more than 60%. And battery is holding more (2h30min sot with 45%) so I'm gonna grab a kmesg and attach here.
Yeah I had that problem to when I was in motion rom but it was fixed when I restored it to stock can any one tell's us why????

I had the same problem 6 months ago! I decided to buy an original S3 battery (the difference is that it's made in Korea, NOT in China) and now I always have 4h+ screen on time with the stock rom and s3ven kernel!

Battery dead?

My N10 started to automatically power off a few months ago when the battery indicator showed 10%, and that power-off number gradually increased over the past few months. Two days ago it automatically powered off when the battery was 25%. But the trouble now is that, when plugged in with a power adaptor, the battery does not seem to get charged even though it shows charging when I push the power button. I tried to power it on once, but it automatically powered off again.
Is it an indication that the battery is dead?
Also, when I was trying to remove the battery, I broke some piece around the pins on the orange ribbon cable on the left. What is this cable for? Digitizer? Can this cable be replaced somehow?
Mine started doing the same thing. It only does it if I leave it on standby for a few days. When I start using it, it will say 25% left but it will auto power down immediately. If you plug it in and turn it back on, it says 0%.
Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Mine started having an issue of not charging, even though it says it is. The battery is currently stuck at 66%. It doesn't shut down on me though. But I powered it off until I could find a solution. I don't think it's a software issue that would be fixed with a factory reset since I tried turning the tablet off overnight and charging it. Still stuck at 66%. When plugged in, it's not discharging. But it doesn't seem to be taking a charge either. Or at least not enough to charge it any higher. My guess is that the battery needs to be replaced. They go for about $30-$40 on ebay. So it looks like that's going to be my best option. I just hope the battery is the issue and I'm not buying a new one for nothing.
After I disconnected the battery for a short while and cleaned the USB port with alcohol, now the battery can be fully charged. However, the orange ribbon cable (under the guy's left hand thumb in this picture http://www.powerbookmedic.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/nexus10-takeapart-006.jpg) on the left side is broken when I tried to remove the battery. Anyone know what is the cable for? I couldn't find it anywhere (ebay or anywhere else) to buy.
Hi, I had the same problem when did an update to latest cm versions, something around 23.8. And later. I did a rollback to 16.8. CM and charging works, so I am really suspecting latest CM updates for nexus 10 are a root cause of this behaviour. But not tested intensively. Could you try to install older CM versions?
Edit: i havent noticed months ago, I thought few days ago, so my comment is not valid

I updated my N10 with the August 24 version of CM. Maybe you're right that the battery could be caused by the recent CM version.

I'm running CM as well. I'll try flashing the newest version. If that's the issue, maybe they have fixed it. If not, I'll try rolling back to an older version and see if that does it and report back. To roll back, do you just simply flash an old version over the existing one? I've never had to go backwards before.
Coming back in here to confirm that my issue was indeed Cyanogenmod. Went back to the last Snapshot and it charged up again.
So I can reinstall Cyanogenmod again without it messing up ?
