Nope there should be a definite click to the power button. Mine is also squishy, I had 5 S4 previously and they were all fine.
I decided to keep the one with a dodgy power button as the screen is ok and its PVS binning 5.
But no, it's not normal, it's defective. If it really bothers you then send it back

Yeah mine is acting wierd aswell, but you get used to it after a few weeks!

i dont like te power button on S4 it's pushed in heaps unlike the S2.
Prefer the S2 power button

Make the capacatative touch controls stay on?

Any setting/way to make an app or hack for them to stay on for longer? It's so annoying that they turn off!
Oh man, I'm getting REALLY annoyed by that. It's bad enough that you can only turn the screen on to use the phone by using the power button that is in such a stupid position.
I'm really starting to miss the Home button on my iPhone.
Actually any of the 3 hard buttons will wake the phone so you can use vol up and down as well

The volume keys aren't waking up mine.

you had me excited for a second... Volume keys do not work on mine to wake the phone.
Same only three power lock key worked and I wish there was a setting to have the lights on ask the time screen is on

Right. Vol keys don't wake the phone. It would be nice in theory, but adjusting volume (listening to music) with the phone in your pocket would then wake the phone and possibly allow the screen to unlock. I know that's a bit of a stretch, but being a touchscreen right next to your leg.....it could easily happen.
I can't believe there isn't a setting for this. The lights turn off too quickly. There should've been a low-power 'Always On W/Screen' option.
I wish they would've opted for hardware buttons, to be honest. That way, you can at least feel them out in the dark.
I'm new to the Android development scene, but would it be possible for someone to develop a market app to address the issue?
Why did the US carrier phones had the Home button removed.
Now they are incompatible with the regular Galaxy S firmware, and are hard to use in the dark.
Just stupid.
But 4 hard buttons are not a good solution either. A large Home button is.
I like the idea of a single hard button (the N1 trackball, the iPhone home button, the Galaxy S home button), and I agree: it was a stupid decision to remove that button.

dude, stop whining like a lil biscuit. the power button as screen on/off method is fabulous and quick. Loving the 4 touch buttons. Yes I understand the lights go off quite quickly but don't worry, i already have and you will also remember their position.

Power Button on top of the phone is more ergonomic.
Big Home Button is also more ergonomic and you don't have to "remember" it.
I think the US carriers wanted space to slap their branding, so they removed the large Home button. Plus, the 4 buttons make it harder to use international firmware, which will likely advance faster than the US-only versions.

Weak power button

I have a i9505, am I the only one noticing the power button is harder to push and feels weak and deeper inside than the volume buttons?
Also, my +volume is easier to press than my -volume, is that normal?

And you are talking about a phone in a case, maybe its just the case not setting well mate try removing it and inserting the phone again sometimes the edges miss the button area a little and it starts giving hard life.

Sadly without a case, I find it hard to press the power button. The volume buttons are fine, just the difference between them was a little irritating. I guess I should take it back...

My power button make some noise (sometime), like if there is something stuck behind (dirt). I also have this with my home button and it irritates me like ****. I didn't had this with my S3 wich i used for over a year!
this has been reported a lot of times
the button does feel weak but it is fine

I also had the same problem. I don't know whether it was originally like that or it was defects

[Q] Hardware buttons - any improvments?

IMO Note 2 has a major flaw with hardware buttons placement, where volume buttons located on exact opposite side of power button, which means in my experience 99% pressing power button I accidentally press volume button too.
Does Note 3 have the same flaw or they actually shifted these buttons away from each other?
P.S.
Also I hope they didn't swap sides for these buttons, making power button on left.
Sorry to report the power and volume up/down are on the direct opposite sides from each other so when you hit power you are gonna hit volume 99% of time as well.
That sucks. Hopefully being narrower it wouldn't be as bad...
On N4 they better move power button higher! or...I'd buy it anyway, I guess...

Power/Volume Buttons

How are your power and volume buttons in regards to them being loose or not? Mine are just a little loose. Nothing too major but I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me just s little.

My power button is fine, the volume was very loose and rattly. This along with the non-flush panel on the back and some cosmetic damage on the frame led me to exchange it. Just waiting for my replacement now.
My power button is fine. The volume button is loose on mine though.
Bothers me too, but the rest of the phone is fine so I'm not going to RMA unless I find something really wrong about it.
Mine do not rattle, but the power button requires little force to be depressed. I have accidentally turned off the screen multiple times. My volume buttons are fine though.
The power button on my 6P is very smooth. No "click" when pressing, just..smooth if you will. The volume rocker makes a distinct click pressing either up or down & takes slightly more pressure to click. And I mean slightly!
No complaints here. That's the way it's supposed to be!
Volume button are fine. Power button..eh... smooth? They seem mushy to me. All buttons should have at least SOME feedback. I'm not even sure I hit it most of the time.

Why does my S7 Edge power & volume button have a different click feel? is it normal?

Why does my S7 Edge power & volume button have a different click feel? is it normal?
I've got my s7 edge from just a month and i feel like the power button has a slightly different "click" compared to the volume buttons!! is this normal? Should the power button have a click feeling like the volume buttons or should it feel slightly different as i described? i dropped my phone like two days ago and before i dropped it i didn't really care about the clickiness of those buttons, but since then it really bothers me a lot :crying:
All my buttons have the same clicky-noise and feel, so I'm not sure what's going on with yours. Can you describe how it feels a little better? Is it a softer feel?
the power button is not softer or mushier than the volume buttons when pressed, but it has a much louder click noise compared to the volume buttons. The volume buttons don't have as much "click" as the power button. it's hard to hear when you're not in a quite place, but when you are in a quite room you can clearly hear the different clickiness between that buttons. it's really hard to describe it actually :silly:

Well, what can I say It's either caused by that fall you had, or it's a production thing. I have no idea. But if you're not bothered by it, then keep using it. If you're bothered by it (which I think you are, since you made a thread about it), then get a new one if that's an option.
Why do my farts sound different? Is this normal??
