Best Source For Replacement Screen/Digitizer? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
One of my family members broke their Nexus 4; tripped and fell and threw the phone across the pavement... cracked front screen and no touch response. Thus, I need to find a replacement screen and digitizer with front housing. Does anyone know of a good place to an original part besides etradesupply (they have been out of stock for a while)?
Thanks,
Joe

Why not sell it on ebay for spares or repair and get another one with the proceeds (new or secondhand)? Thereby neatly side-stepping the problem by giving it to others!

I don't know how much I could sell it for. I think replacing the screen would still end up cheaper than buying a new one. Anyone know a reputable ebay seller?

Kaiser Replacement LCD ?

My 2 weeks old Kaiser slipped from my hands and the LCD broke !! I am looking for a good repair shop in Belgium or any links from which I can procure a new LCD screen real fast! Any pointers would be helpful. Also, does anyone know if the LCD screen is covered under the HTC warranty ??
whipout ur htc carepack, call the number nearest you. They probably would fix it for you for a small charge. Keep in mind, repair shops aren't htc specialists.... So my suggestion is that you contact htc and see what they can do for you.
i feel for you :{
my girlfriend just got her LCD cracked from a roller coaster (stupid safety bars). probably going to take a few weeks for us to get a replacement screen since they don't even sell the kaiser here.
she keeps subconsciously trying to touch the screen on her interm dumb-phone... and sighs.
do it yourself! buy a replacement screen on ebay, and look for replacement instructions on this forum
how easy does the screen crack if you drop it? just for arguments sake shouldn't the phones be able to sustain a reasonable drop? After all you are constantly using it in your hands so it is likely you would drop it at least once.

My Tilt has only 2 buttons on the right, the power and camera buttons. http://cnn.cn/shop/images/IMG_5052.JPG shows there are 3 buttons. What's the 3rd button?
I found that on expansys website while i was checking for a good screen protector... Have a look here :

Well, I've taken up a hobby of repairing all makes/models of phone that I can get parts for, so I'd be exceptionally grateful if you could provide some info as to WHERE and HOW you get them so cheaply....
TIA!
there are a few shopping mall in china that sell only spare part for pc, mobile phones and all micro electronics part.
and because most of the oem and third party parts are all made in china, its always cheaper to buy from there, I travel to china a lot, and in search for some parts, I did come across some tytn II parts.
but then you need to live in china or hong kong just like me, so you can go back and forward.
I can also let you know that only micro electronics parts and mobile spare parts are cheaper in china, PC stuff are cheaper in hong kong, as well as back up service.
you need to go to wha qheung ( my own english translation) street along the china railway system, most of them do bulk buy and send overseas, but its best to be there in person, as you cannot trust them sometime.
next time i'll get the address when I go over again, but i'll don't think you will travel there.

LCD Screen For Sale

LCD Screen
Warning: Images are very high resolution
Part Number: 60H00037-00M
Willing to accept any sensible offer and would prefer a UK sale.
If you're in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee I'm willing to give it to you in person if you want to save postage but it would have to be at a mutually convenient time.
The screen is immaculate - I removed the plastic cover when it arrived in the post but haven't used it at all.
N.B. The part number is very important as I believe there are 3 different types for different versions of the Tytn.

I used to wonder how people managed to break their LCD screens so carelessly but now that I'm one of them feel a great sense of pity and sorry for them
Seriously though, I broke my LCD screen the other week and I've been kicking myself since. I went and bought a replacement LCD for it but I couldn't get it working in my phone because I broke a little black component that holds the ribbon cable onto the contacts.
Anyway, now I have a broken phone and a spare LCD screen so I'm going to sell the bits as spares if anyone is interested.
Right now I'm going to sell the LCD screen as I've not decided if I want to break up the phone itself, especially as it still contains all my data

I paid £42 for it so if you have a sensible offer around that price I'll certainly consider it.
Are you based in the UK?

Any HD2 spares sellers out there?

Hi all,
I have to admit I have a sneaky feeling this should not be here but I'm not sure where to put it... It's not strictly a accessory but anyway, if it is wrong, please do advise.
I'm after anyone here who has or knows of a someone that sells HD2 spares?
I obtained two screen repair HD2s - both have been tampered with previously and while the units both work fine, the front keypad ribbon is broken in two so the keys are not responding.
I have managed to source 2 LCD's but without these buttons, I'm lumbered with two units and two brand new LCD units.
Appreciate any help on this!
Thanks,
Akash

Not sure if this is much help but I did recall seeing a guy on Craigslist in Toronto selling an HD2 in mint condition except for the fact that the glass screen looked like it took a bullet. The LCD was perfect underneath and no scratches anywhere. Not quite sure how someone can do that to it and keep in mint at the same time but anyway it was posted in April and they were asking for around $300 CAN.
Thanks for that suggestion
I have actually been looking around Ebay UK (Where I am) for faulty HD2s but no one will sell them cheaply so...
Bit the bullet and requested a return on the LCD - the seller will refund me the full value back. Just wish I could get these parts as the rest of the unit is mint and given that I've already stripped the screen off (not the easiest task!), it would have been great just to put it back together in a working state.
Thanks again and if anyone does have any other suggestions in getting hold of the keypad, I would appreciate a quick note on it

Cheapest touchscreen supplier

Any one know of the cheapest place to buy a touchscreen or two for the HD2? Specifically after the non T-Mo (Aussie/EU/UK) version.
Ebay sucks at the best of times, so looking for someone preferably cheaper than having to F5 ebay until a low price one appears...?
Fanks
I was after the same thing, but got impatient and got one of eBay for about AU$120 delivered (that was the screen and digitizer together). You can get a screen alone for about AU$60 from memory.
You'll need to make sure you get the right model first though... I found the model number after disassembling the whole phone to view the sticker on the back of the LCD panel.

[Q] Where to find replacement digitizer/glass?

So I dropped my Galaxy Nexus onto my TPT at a distance of about 1 foot, and my glass cracked, and the touch digitizer is freaking out (pen digitizer also doesn't work, but I can at least use my tablet in Pen Only mode with the keyboard dock).
I'm trying to find a replacement glass/digitizer, and I'm having issues. Lenovo wants $750 to replace the LCD. Ridiculous! So what happens if I try to buy the part, assuming that labor is the majority of that $750? It costs more. The maintenance manual lists 3 part numbers for the LCD (they don't sell the digitizer/glass separately): 04W2150, 04W2151, 04W2152. I was quoted $922 for the first one, $1785 for the second one, and the third one didn't have a published price. Meanwhile, I'm frantically searching eBay for a broken TPT at a good price that I can scavenge from. Any help would be appreciated.
