Rooted stock but some app dont acquire root! - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have my 9505 i337m rooted stock recovery installed. Most apps work and acquire root but few like trikster dont. I installed superSu.
Root checker lite report rooted and root checker pro the contrary.
Any idea?
Thank you

Did you grant them root privileges when prompted? Check your SuperSU log to see if they've been denied.

Desinstall supersu and now it it a mess. Tried yo reroot but nothing work anymore.
Superuser say not possible to update su becsuse there is a problemvor su not present. All apps that need root freeze. No rooot anymoree.
Can I fix without flashing a rom?
Is ther an app to clean and desinstall all?

Don't know why you did that-you created a much bigger problem by overreacting.
Are you trying to use superuser or supersu? From the tenor of your post, it sounds like you tried switching. What happens if you try to install supersu from the play store?

Hide/ temp un root

So I wanted to try the pingit mobile transfer app. But it says device rooted...
So I unrooted. But still says the same... Any one know what the app is looking at

You can download Root Checker from Play Store just to make sure you are indeed unrooted. Also, you may have to check if you bootloader is unlocked.
Run Supersu instead of Superuser and you can temp disable root.

Lost my root?

I use my tablet mainly for netflix, fb, games and microsoft word but one day I tried opening Trickster Mod and it said i didnt have root. It was so weird because I did root my tablet but it just disappeared. I was wondering if I should start from the beginning or if theres a way to get my root back?

Download root checker from the play store and verify if it has root.

no need to start at the beginning, you should be able to just root it the same way you did before after unlocking your boatloader

I checked and I no longer have root. Does this mean I lost my ROM too?and kernel?

If you lost your ROM... You would be staring at the Google logo. To root, open up your superuser app (or download from play store) and update su binary from the app. If that doesn't work, you can grab a flashable zip of SuperSU.

If your bootloader and tablet is already unlocked then rerooting should be a breeze. Just use whichever toolkit you previously unlocked it with and get that root back in it. Then install busybox from playstore and check SuperSu the app to see if your permissions are okay.

New ROM lost root

So I was running paranoid android (latest version) and I decided to try out an experimental version of kitkat. I flashed it without problems. Then I decided to try out a new ROM, so I flashed psx (latest version). I used rom manager to download and flash it. I installed an app that required root, but it said that I had no root access, even though I had root before. Did I lose my root when I flashed? How can I get it back? Thanks.

Root is in /system. If you flashed a new ROM, and they did not include the su binaries then you don't have root.
Root is not magical. Its pretty basic stuff here. You should learn what root is before going any further.

Yes, I know what root is. ( sorry if I worded it wrong) I should have said I lost root access. Can I install supersu to get that access back? Thanks

[Q] How to verify whether it is rooted or not?

Hey guys.. How to verify whether device is rooted or not? Sorry for the stupid question. As I have installed two root checker apps from google store. How do i know whether my phone is rooted or not? Help~ T.T
Try using an app that requires root. Here a useful app that will check what's keeping your device awake: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector
P.s those two apps above are telling you your rooted.

Use ES file explorer or root browser. If you have root hen you enable root access in the settings then you will be asked to grant SupSU permission.
If you grant it and have root then you can go and play around with the system partition... Try renaming a system app to .bak then changing back. If you have root access then you should be allowed as long as the app you are using has SuperSU access granted...
Hey guys! Thanks for your help.. and now my phone is rooted! Thabks for the useful apps yo! ?

Done and done
I got it working guys!! it requires SuperSu. with its latest update you can update its su binary and it allows you to use the app.
The only one that i found that works is gameguardian. install the latest version and when give it permissions. set the temp file path to /sdcard.
THATS IT
