Is "flo" the codename?
I am trying to get some ROMs going on for this as I might buy one Wed but I am still confused as to what the device codename is.
I will search around some more though I guess.

I started to create a thread on this last night but figured I'd wait for someone else to do it. To make it easy on deciding, gather as many opinions on the official nickname as possible and after a pre determined count, take the average and hopefully enough people will recognize it as the 'nickname'.

No, Nakasi (Wifi) & Nakasig (3G) are for the previous version of Nexus 7.
And if you go to the Google Git, you will see that the nickname is FLO => Google Git = android / device/asus/flo

Thank you! I just get weary relying on Google results, and prefer confirmation.
Last time I bought a device I just googled it and thought I was going to get a "Sunfire" (Photon 4G) but ended up with a "Asanti" (Photon Q LTE)...

Nexus 7 B

"My Next Device"

Yeah, who knows. I'd prefer a better naming convention. I'm sticking with Nexus 7 (2013).
I can see some confusing coming from this, especially when people start looking for accessories. I already read a Best Buy review where the guy mention how much his daughter loved the tablet he got her, but the hers doesn't have a rear camera.

Google's Support website refers to it as the "Nexus 7 (2013)" while last year's model is referred to as "Nexus 7 (2012)". For the moment, this convention seems reasonable, but I think calling it "Nexus 7 (2nd generation)" or "Nexus 7 flo" is equally clear.

My theroy about the 5 nexus devices rumor

rumors have been going on about the 5 nexus devices to be released this year as Google io is done the nexus Q is 1 Nexus 7 is 2 and there are rumor of a nexus 10 device which could be 3 and 4 is the next nexus device and 5 could be their own branded Google Tv
I'm wondering whether Google will release a Nexus phone this year as in November, the galaxy nexus will have been out for a year...
Sent from my Nexus S
figure 1 phone and possibly another Tablet, who knows about the last. It's a shame the NexusQ isn't a GoogleTv device but no reason it couldn't be upgraded to one in the future.
I think it may go something like this (slight modification to your idea):
Nexus Q
Nexus Tablet 7in
Nexus Tablet 10in
New Nexus Device $500-$600 - This is the device to rule all devices
GNex Reduced to around $249-$299 - This will allow for a budget friendly, unlocked and powerful device for people who do not want to drop the big bucks for the new device (see above)
If this was the case I would grab the Gnex for my wife and the New device for myself!!
10inch tab is a must
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
I'm going to have to disagree, the Xoom still fits that area pretty well (especially since it just got JB) and the Nexus 7 owes most of it's success to it's price point (which I doubt a 10 inch version could come close to since it would need a higher resolution than 1280x800).
Is there the possibility for a 8.1 inch Nexus 7? This should keep the price still lower than $500. Perhaps $300, and a really good size-neither big nor small.

It doesn't make sense to release a new device for 1.1 more inches of screen size.
I personally don't want a nexus 10 but to be different I suggest nexus 9 i have had 3 10 inches tablets (HP touchpad, Motorola xoom , and Samsung galaxy tab 10.1, ) and the bn nook color along with a iPad 3 (mywifes) and I have to say.... when I went to best buy to check out Samsung's 8.9 it was just the right size .... didn't get one because just don't have the money .... so nexus 9 FTW!

That's good, because now my mom wants a Nexus tablet.
If you want a nexus tablet, buy one now. Don't wait 6 months. If you're going to wait that long for the next best thing, you'll always be disappointed in the end.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Yeah there's no point in trying to keep up with technology. You will ALWAYS lose that race. If you want a Nexus 7 buy one now and worry about the new one whenever that time comes. Sumthin bigger and better is always around the corner.

Enjoy your device... New models will always come. I sell it and buy new one or give previous model as gift to my relatives.
Since the N7 is pretty cheap anyway you could use it for 6 months and even if you sell it for half price you will still have got 6 months of use out of it so why wait?

[Q] Should I sell my Nexus 4?

I've been seeing all these rumours about the Motorola X. It looks amazing, and a lot of websites are saying it will undercut the Nexus 4 in price. Should I sell my nexus 4 before it comes out and buy the X when it does come out? Really not sure what to do

It doesn't look like a serious upgrade from a nexus 4. The differences aren't huge so it would probably be best to wait. Also it's not a nexus device so you lose a lot of the good modding that you get on the 4 and probably has a locked bootloader

Probably. Sounds like you just want something new. The nexus 4 is on par with the top tier phones out right now (HTC One, GS4) as far as performance goes. My only gripe with the N4 is the camera, but its not enough for me to ditch it yet. We just use my wife's GS3 or our DSLR for that.
The X is nice, but I don't see its release causing the value of the N4 to drop to much. Only another Nexus device will affect its value.

Yes sell it! If you want to downgrade. I don't think Google will sell the Nexus 5 for that much higher than the Nexus 4. Maybe 30 to 60 dollars more. I mean look at the Nexus 7, that thing upgraded like hell and the price only went up 30 dollars.

So I'm wrong and you're ignorant, Google hasn't always been using this, just the new devices
see
Nexus 10=10"
Nexus 4=4"
Nexus 7=7"
Nexus 5=5"
now the Nexus 7 has a new version, called Nexus 7 II, not Nexus 8 (following your thought), and so will Nexus 10 (Nexus 10 II), if Nexus 4 gets a new version too, it probably will be called Nexus 4 II, and not Nexus 5, and this discussion is pointless since Nexus 5 is just a rumor someone random started
Don't sell your Nexus 4 now. Nobody has even seen the specs for the x-phone yet and according to the rumors the specs of the X-phone will probably be very similar to Nexus 4.
Wait for the Nexus 5.
But the current nexus 4 is closer to 5 inches. So why didn't they call it the nexus 5? Well I'll tell you b/c the nexus 4 is the 4th generation of the nexus phone.
The naming for the tablets is correct and if they do decide to make a 5" nexus phone next its likely they call it the nexus 5. Google pretty much backed themselves in to a corner with the phone naming. Seeing as they will not be able to call the 7th gen nexus phone the nexus 7.
So I agree with you and the naming, just not the nexus 4 naming.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Yeah I've read its not gonna be crazy just a phone that they want to make sure its gonna work perfrectly. The specs did sound similar to the n4. But again that's just rumors.
There's no reason to sell the phone for one that its not even a year old and it will still get official updates for like another 3 years

Indeed they are!
I only recently discovered this myself, when I was at my local supermarket recently, and I spotted a huge sign, near the fishmongers, advertising tilapia as being on special offer for that day.
Tuna and Manta is sort of the obvious giveaway, but unless you're a gourmet, grouper (my Nexus 7), does not invoke anything 'fishy' to my mind... unless fastboot fails... at which point, I usually say '...something fishy about this...'.

Hi, SilverDragon24...
Well... 'grouper' Nexus 7 is WiFi only... whereas the 'tilapia' model is both WiFi AND Cellular (3G).
So.. you're going to be need to be close to a WiFi 'hotspot' if you buy a 'grouper' Nexus 7.
If you go for a 'tilapia' Nexus 7, you'll need a SIM card, and some sort of mobile data carrier plan (similar to a smartphone) for use when you're away from a WiFi router/hotspot.
Which one you buy, is dependent on your situation and you're needs.

Nice. Although I'm flashing back to 4.4.4 official and waiting until more apps convert over to ART.
This was posted in the N4 Lollipop thread. UHG Really starting to regret getting a Deb.
"Android Lollipop will ship on Google’s newest Nexus devices, the Motorola-built Nexus 6 smartphone and HTC-built Nexus 9 tablet, both of which were introduced Wednesday. Google said Lollipop will hit the older Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets on Nov. 3 in an over-the-air update. Lollipop will also hit the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 smartphones, as well as the LTE version of the Nexus 7, later in November."
As for phone... Yeah not gonna get the N6.Too expensive and it would be like using my N7 as a phone. I'll just wait for Project Ara. Think that'll be my next phone.

They already said the Nexus 7's would be getting an official update for Android L. So no need to worry.

Nevermind...
I hate that the new Nexus tablet is so expensive. For $100 more than what the Nexus 9 will start at, I got a 10" Windows 8 tablet (full Windows, not that RT crap) with a real keyboard dock (Acer Iconia w510, for anyone who cares). I'll be keeping my Nexus 7. I will pick up the Nexus 6 on contract, though.
