Google Play Music All Access on MOTOACTV - Other SmartWatches

Has anybody been able to get Google Play Music All Access running on the MOTOACTV? I've manually installed the latest .apk for Play Music, but when I got to Settings > Select Google Account, no accounts are listed.
Ideally, I'd like to connect to All Access while I'm on WiFi and select a few playlists for 'make available offline' so I can listen while outside running. I already do this with Spotify, but I'd like to be able to use Google.
Thanks.

Which Rom are you using? How'd you install it? Are you signed in to Google Play?

Glad you asked, ClearD. Why, I'm using the best ROM available: ClearDroid ACTV 1.1.9 T5. :good:
I installed Google Play Music by using the Play store on the device itself (and using the market search app included on the ROM).
The Google Play store shows it's associated with my account, and I have what I believe to be the latest version of Google Play Services.
Version info for each if it helps:
Play Store: 3.9.16
Google Play Services: 3.1.59
Play Music: 5.1.1106
When I open Play Music, it asks for me to select an account, but none are listed.
Thanks.

I wonder if an older version might work? I seem to remember someone using an older one a while back...

Hi all,
I have actually had Google Play music indeed work! The default DPI setting is too large to show your account listed, so I changed the build.prop to 90 and used a rotation control app to show more of the application. In the settings, chose account, you then can see a add new account and also a space where your account would be listed. After a little wild clicking in the area, you should be set up to go.
An alternative I first played with was during the initial setup of the motoactv on a new rom, side loading the play music apk and adding your existing Google account through the app before any others.
*an issue* what I've seen is that the first play of any library song works great, even over Bluetooth tethering of the phone. However, something is amiss with caching. the second time listening to the same song, the motoactv will say it plays but no sound will play. Deleting the cache will make the song work again? I've tried both installing on SD and internal with no difference...

Thanks, barczakmark, that worked for me! As for the multiple plays of the same song caching problem, I don't seem to be having that issue.

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me add my Google Acct. I have Play Music loaded and when I go in settings to add my account I receive a message that: Server error. We are unable to connect to the server to add the account. Pleasetry again later from Settings.
Any ideas what may be blocking me?

Hello, didi you manage to get google music login working ?
I get the same "unable to connect to the server to add the account" error.

No, I never figured it out.
I never got it working and never got a reply on here that helped so I ended up reverting to the original set up.
Actually the original set up makes the device more functional for me. I use mine for exercising and running and having to navigate solely by that small touchscreen is near impossible.

[Q] google music not syncing?

so i got my google music beta invite last night and i was all excited. i got all of my music (about 1,300 songs) to sync to google and i'm able to see all of my music and play it from the cloud on a pc via web browser.
i have the updated version of google music on my transformer and it opens up and i've connected it with the correct gmail account. the problem is that none of my sync'd music is showing up. i've hit refresh, i've messed with the settings and unchecked/checked things but i've got nothing except for the 4 albums that come on the transformer. what's the deal?
i know its the right gmail account, and i know the music is in the cloud and i can play it...just not from the transformer. any tips?
I was having the same problem, and this is what worked for me. Go into SETTINGS, click on ACCOUNTS AND SYNC. Under manage accounts, click on your google mail account, and click on SYNC MUSIC. After a few minutes, your music should show up. Another person had to downgrade their music app, and then update again. Hope one of these works for you!

that did it! thanks a lot!
seems to me Google should put this in the troubleshooting or instructions page. i turned my auto sync off last week to save battery life, so i guess if i have it on, then my music would've shown up with no problem. still....

Mine doesn't either. I just got the 3.1 update the other day and it won't let me install from the market because it thinks it is already up to date.
No music sync option under my account either. Anyone else have any ideas?
Your google account has to be approved for the beta before the sync option will show up in the account setttings.
Try installing it from the Market on your PC (market.android.com). I dont know if its a bug for everyone or just people runnning cyanogenmod, but it wouldnt sync or even give me the option to until I went to the pc front end and installed it. Hope this helps anyone reading this in the future.

need help with google music beta

I uploaded songs to the cloud from a laptop but they are not showing up on my xoom or Droid x what do i do?
Where are you looking?
Are you looking in the Google Music Beta app you downloaded? Do you have two music icons in app drawer (on DX)?
Make sure you've updated your Music app to the latest version from Android Market. Run the Music app and tap Menu, Settings, Google Account and select the account you uploaded your music to.
is anyone have this working in the uk? I used a proxy to apply for the invite, now I have one i can use the website but it says there is a technical helper. If I manage to get hold of the new Pp could it work then or is the outside of the us completely blocked?
I use it in EU, it works on my Xoom and also on my phone. No problems what so ever.
You have to update the Music app to version v3.0.338.
3 ways to do this.
1. Have an us IP address on the Xoom. (Gain marked access trough proxy?)
2. Use Market Access and get the update
3. Somebody uploads the latest Music APK.
Search on google for "google music beta apk"

Syncing

I am having a problem with my synced account. It recognizes that my account is synced, but my music in Google Music player did not sync and apps from the market that I have bought on my Droid are showing up in the market with the price next to them rather than "install."
When I first started up my tab I was having problem with the wifi, so I skipped the initial sync setup just to get onto the tab and play around with a few things and I synced later on. Could this be a reason? I'd prefer to avoid a factory reset of course.
Thanks in advance!
You can always check if the account is setup correctly by going to settings --> accounts & sync.
Try to sign into Google Talk on the Tab to fix the Market issues. For the Music issue, make sure you have updated the Music App then check the settings in the app once you have updated. Then make sure your "Library" is showing ALL music rather than just local.

Google music not syncing with phone

Not sure whats going on but it will not see any songs that I uploaded from my PC (2000 songs). There is no button to "sync" the device in either the Music app or in settings/account/gmail. I've installed the app 3 times with the same results. Is there a trick or something? Running GB 2.3.3
Silly question, but did you try a reboot? I have heard that has helped some.

GOT IT!!!
Downloading the app from the market via the phone gave me the problem. I removed the app then from my laptop I pushed the install via the market website and then everything worked. very odd.
Odd indeed

I noticed I have to give it some time to sync after I install it. Also there IS a check box in android accounts settings to enable syncing.
Yup. Enable syncing. I use the power control widget so I only sync when I'm listening to my music.

I've noticed that if it does not sync right away (or after a few hours), Then clear the data on the Google music app. To do so: Go to settings>Applications>Manage Applications and find Google music, then select clear data. Once that is finished go back into Google music and you should be able to pull up the menu and select settings. Then just select your gmail account again and it should start syncing almost immediately.

thats exactly what i have to do too. have to do it just about every time i install music beta.
Yea, I'm having issues too. Shouldn't Music come up in Account & Sync in settings? I don't seem to have it listed anymore.
Thanks. Clearing data fixed the problem.
Just for anyone else having a problem, an issue I ran into was everytime I flashed a new nightly for CM7, it counted as a new device being added to my account. Eventually I was maxed out on allowed devices (think it might be 8 but don't remember) and it wouldn't sync new songs for me anymore. I had to clear the devices from the music beta page itself to fix the problem.

That worked for me. I can sync again. Thank you!
I think the Google music app sucks. Thats right, it sucks.
I have tried deleting the app from my phone and my pc, then reloading.
What happens to me is when I reload everything, it syncs the same old songs. I have deleted them from everywhere, changed the folder, deleted the folder and created a new one.....same music.....that doesnt exist any more. When I select the folder to sync, it shows the correct number of songs for the new folder but then syncs a different number.....and music that doesnt even exist on my CPU anymore.
Makes no sense to me.
Also, theres no way to delete or hide a song on my device. I know theres a menu choice to hide unavailable but that doesnt work either.
Severe FAIL on Google. BOOOOOOOOOOOO
I had this problem a lot. After installing Music from the Market place, go into App Management and "Clear Data". When you load Music again, it will have a settings menu now to select your account. Although, I think this issue was fixed on newer GB versions because I didn't have to do it when I fresh installed on .605.
Just another Android glitch
"I've noticed that if it does not sync right away (or after a few hours), Then clear the data on the Google music app."
I just crossed over to Android and got the GS2. Figured I'd get one of the flagship devices. I figured Android must be good; it's so popular.
I've never used a phone with so many work-arounds, glitches... needed to download so many programs just for a loud & repeating calendar alarm... stores photos to 10 different folders.
Now I have to clear data for every sync I want to do w/ my clouded music? Why didn't I just get an iPhone? The bigger question is, how is it that Android has repeat customers? Maybe Android buyers are all first-time smartphone users and don't know any better. These types of bugs and glitches common to Android are not standard far on iPhone or even my older Nokia N-Series and BlackBerrys.

Cannot connect to any Google apps!

So as the title says, I cannot connect to any of the Google apps such as YouTube, Google+, and the Play store. These were all working just a couple days ago, and I would appreciate any troubleshooting tips. Some of the apps, like YouTube, will connect, but have limited functionality. For example, I can connect to YouTube, and I can play videos, but I cannot like, subscribe, or do anything that requires an account. Also things like Gmail and Google+ will load, but I cannot get any new posts/emails
Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
Using a Nexus 4 w/ Cyanogen Mod 11.

It sounds that google app data doesn't sync. Go to settings accounts your google account and make sour that app data is checked. Maybe that's your problem.

Well, I went there, and saw that the app data was already checked. There was a message at the bottom telling me that "sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly"
Any other ideas?
Have you tried forcing a sync of every single item? Removing and re-adding your google account? Those might do the trick. Also make sure your play store and play services are fully up to date.
