Google Services takes too much RAM - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I noticed that Google Services take alot of RAM. Especially location manager or something.
As you can see it takes 45mb ram, more then any other app takes...
Is this normal?
Thanks in advance

Ram that's not used is wasted. 45mb isn't an issue.

You have 2GB of RAM and complain about a system app that takes 45MB of it? Like the person above me said, RAM not used is RAM wasted. That's how Android works.

I know I have much ram left and 45 doesn't have to be a issue but I was thinking if an app that uses 45mb ram doesn't drain my battery faster!

It would drain faster if you try removing the process from memory as it has to put it back

Where is my storage?

Hi all,
I noticed today that I have less free space than I believe I should.
I see 4 GB left, but the top graph/bar displays much more.
I turned off and on, and now I see 10 GB free.
Any idea what is the issue?
Attached screenshot.
Thanks!

Check out app called DiskUsage. You can see everything and also delete from it. Sorted me out!

Ram Usage

My ram is always at like 500 and I can't get it down and it slows my phone down and I can't pinpoint what it is. Thanks for the future help

Just kidding the issue persists

I usually eliminate / remove the background processes of the apps I'm not using or don't consider top priority for notifications and etc.
And if the service restarts then force close / freeze

If your on a stock rom this seems pretty consistent with the ram usage I'm looking at with nothing frozen on stock.

He's ^^^ correct. RAM usage shouldn't slow down your phone, if it's reasonable, and it is. One of the apps is causing the issue, not the amount of RAM being used. Android is designed to stack RAM.
I'm on cm10 and I don't have that many apps installed but look:

I generally have abt 40 apps and when need clear apps and ram if need I also reboot some time and clear again it does work and ya I m on stock not rooted or using any kernal
It depends on apps installed I suppose and what are active constantly

Apps to disable to increase free ram?

Anyone found a good list of apps, bloatware to disable to increase the amount of free ram on the phone yet and speed it up a bit? Cause at the moment it looks like a lot of ram is being used by bloatware.

Please read about Android Memory Management. It is good to use RAM for apps.

I'm not denying that but it isn't bring used by apps I'm actually using. Tw bloatware is using all the free ram and half of it is never used so that can be disabled to increase free ram.

Use Titanium to freeze bloatware, then if you have problems you can unfreeze. Sorry I don't have a list...

Memory (RAM) size?

Guys, everywhere says GNote 3 has 3 GB RAM. but I only see 2.3GB as max available. did my device miss some RAM??
Lol, probably not. Remember that for now there is a ton of bloat to consume our precious n3's resources. You're all good.

I'm pretty sure the .7 that you are missing is how much it takes just for the phone to run
